Oops, I forgot that at AfC, the article IS the talk page.OK, I'll make my suggestions here. (Personally I have never liked the AfC process.) 1) After the movie's name in the lead sentence, provide an English translation of what it means. 2) Your "plot" section sounds more like a teaser (the vague description provided by the movie's producers to get you to see the film) rather than a plot summary. If you look at some movie articles here, they usually give an actual description of what happens in the movie. (Also, you'll notice that I changed that section to a single paragraph. Wikipedia doesn't much like one-sentence paragraphs. You should probably make "production" into a single paragraph also.) 3) To prove that the film is "notable" (WP:N) we like to see something about the reaction to the movie - something like a newspaper review, or information about how it did at the box office. Oh, and I think it's worth pointing out that the intellectually disabled characters in the film are played by actors from the Glada Hudik Theatre (Glada Hudik-teatern), a theatre group with mentally handicapped actors. I saw your message referring to recent changes I made to Carl DeMaio's and Scott Peters wiki. I don't work for either campaign, but freely admit I'm a conservative. I believe I'm completely within my rights to make edits to their pages as long as it's completely substantiated by the facts, which the links I provided did. I recently moved to San Diego and think that both of their articles on your website are lacking both on substance and quality. I plan on adding additional information over the coming months that will be 100% backed up by the facts and am happy to publicly attach my name behind the changes, and stand behind them. Would be more than happy to discuss this with you further since I have immense respect for Wikipedia, but believe much more information should be provided to the voters on both of the candidates in this election. And like I said, while I certainly have partisan identification like everyone else I will only be relying on the facts like I'm sure you do when you make edits. Thank you

Don't edit others user page

Editing others User page is strictly prohibited as you haven't got the permission to edit the page without the users concern. User pages are not a part of encyclopedia so you cannot edit it . Before editing anybodies user page please ask the User once. And the service awards are not the real awards they are just imaginary, which was created in 2006. So, never ever edit others user page without giving them a intimation and never delete others Wiki–service award tags. If any one is not responding the warning messages then you must wait for 1 week till you start editing others user page. You must cooporate with other users. Thank you. Rudra john cena, I am sorry if you were offended, but I did find it necessary to make some edits to your user page. Earlier I commented [1] on your talk page that some things should be removed from your user page, and that if you didn't do it, other editors would. As I said, I hesitated to do it, but it became necessary. BTW I was not the only person, and not the first, to make changes in your user page. What I did: I altered your reported level of English ability to "advanced", since multiple people had commented that you do not have "professional" level English skills. And I removed your address and phone number for your own protection; you should never post that information online.

Please see Wikipedia:User pages#Ownership and editing of user pages. You are incorrect when you say that editing other people's user page is "strictly prohibited". Although such editing is "usually avoided", it is occasionally done "to address significant concerns". Our policy says, "Traditionally Wikipedia offers wide latitude to users to manage their user space as they see fit. However, pages in user space belong to the wider community. They are not a personal homepage, and do not belong to the user. They are part of Wikipedia, and exist to make collaboration among editors easier."

While contributing wikipedians are given generous leeway on what they may put on their userpage, they do not own their userpage, and may not post false or misleading information, for example. Hello, Andrew Eugene, and thanks for your note. If you click on the "view history" link above an article, in addition to listing all the changes that have been made to that article, it offers several buttons at the top of the page. One of them is "page view statistics". Click on that and it will show you the number of times the page has been viewed on a day-by-day basis. The information is displayed as a bar graph; to know the exact number of views on a given day, place your mouse over that day's bar. If you want to know the page views for an earlier month (say, the month the article appeared as a "Did you know..."? item), you can choose that month from the dropdown menu (format: 201208 is August 2012). Eva Haller

This is my first article on Wikipedia, but I did A LOT of research for it, to avoid this specifically. Although the only reference that you said was trustworthy was her late husband’s obit, there are article in the page from Forbes, the Huffington Post, Jane Fonda’s blog, University websites, and many more. I’ve been using Wikipedia for years, and I’ve seen tons of people with less ‘notability’ than this woman. Understandably, some of the information from these references came directly from her, but some absolutely did not. I invite you to go and read the two books I cited, and the book that comes up when you search for her via the book database on the AfD page. I read them in their entirety.

To me, there’s also a principle of the matter. People from her generation, especially that did a lot before the Internet age, don’t have an extensive online record of their life. I went through all of the information that could be found online, which is extensive and consistent, and THEN more external sources to make sure that this is a reliable article.

For many people who aren’t necessarily at celebrity status, like this woman, there is no one place that lists everything that they’ve done, except for Wikipedia. If she isn’t ‘notable,’ there are thousands of other pages that should be taken down. She is the Board Chairwoman, at 83, for the largest non-profit in Canada, Free The Children. She's been around since their inception… and because of their work incorporating all of society into a child's education, their success is used as a model for other charities and people trying to build in Third World countries!

She’s a Nazi survivor, philanthropist, and change maker. Three of her projects have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize (one is Free The Children). She is not only notable, but she is significant. She’s made much more of a change through being on these Boards, it seems like, than you or I will probably ever make in our lives! We need to keep a record of these people that have helped create and shape society so that when generations upon generations after us go back to look and find out who was responsible, the record will accurately stand!

If we write her off, then we are essentially going to be writing off an entire generation of people's information that have limited resources from which we can research… They had the unfortunate experience to be born before the Internet age… what we are telling them is that their accomplishments and contribution to society did not matter. The purpose of Wikipedia is to be an encyclopedia to record all the important people and events that we would find throughout history, not just the ones who happen to be fortunate enough to be born in the Internet age!

This is a woman who has been given awards by the United Nations, AARP, Forbes, and many others, at the very least, that is notable.

Let’s find a way to make her page stay. You have to realize, that when you say we should delete it, you’re essentially writing her life off as not notable enough to be remembered and unbiasedly reflected upon on Wikipedia, based of off a number of reliable sources. In fact I enjoy rescuing articles when possible, and I'll look a little harder to see if I can find some additional sources. I see that you put these same comments at the discussion, and that's good. By the way, if it looks like the discussion is heading toward "delete", you could ask to have the article put into your private space - your userspace. That means it is removed from the encyclopedia but it is available to you. You (and others if you want) can work on the article, improve it, and later put it back into Wikipedia if it has been significantly improved. The way to get that is to ask that the closing administrator "userfy" it to you. If it looks as if the result is likely to be "delete" (it's not to that point yet) you can post a note in the discussion asking to have it userfied, or you can wait until the decision is made and then ask the closing administrator on their talk page; they almost always grant such requests. --MelanieN (talk) 23:26, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Richard Strozzi-Heckler

Hi MelanieN - An article I wrote has been nominated for deletion and seeing your interest in rescuing articles I would love feedback from your more experienced perspective if you have the time. The editor who nominated it cited a lack of 3rd party reliable sources in the references to establish noteworthiness. This was my first article and I was very careful to follow wikipedia guidelines in writing it. If I made a mistake I'm happy to learn from it and start again with something else but the editor who nominated it has been very vague and somewhat dismissive as far as clarifying what is objectionable about the sources I've used and it gives me the impression of someone having a problem with the subject just because he or she is unfamiliar with it. After putting much effort into creating a quality article, this is discouraging. Would you be willing to look at the article and its sources to give me some unbiased feedback? Hello, User:SympatheticResonance, and thanks for your note. I took a quick note at your article and also did some additional searching. I'm afraid don't see any way to improve or rescue the article. You have done a fine job writing the article, but the problem is not with your writing; it's with the subject himself. The rule for an article to be here is that the subject must be notable, which is defined at WP:BIO as having received significant coverage from multiple reliable sources. You supply one such source: the Wall Street Journal article about his work with the Marines is significant coverage from a Reliable Source. But the guidelines require significant coverage from MULTIPLE sources, and IMO that's the only such coverage in the Richard article. There are books mentioned, but there's no way to know what they say so they don't help to establish notability. At the Strozzi Institute article I found a Huffington Post blog about him, but there is considerable dispute at Wikipedia about whether HP blogs can be considered to be Reliable Sources, so that is shaky. You may feel that Mr. Strozzi-Heckler is famous or notable, but the multiple independent reliable sources to prove it don't seem to be there. Frankly, I would tend to say the same about the Strozzi Institute article.

I see that you are pretty much the only author on both of these articles, and that almost all of your Wikipedia activity has been devoted to them. I understand that you have spent a great deal of time (more than two years) trying to develop and maintain these two articles, and that you are upset at the idea that this one might be deleted. But Wikipedia is an international encyclopedia, and it has to have standards for inclusion if it is to maintain its credibility as an encyclopedia. In my opinion Mr. Strozzi-Heckler does not meet those standards and the article may well get deleted. (That decision will be made by consensus at the discussion.) One thing I would suggest is that you make a personal copy of this article, references and all, either offline or in your own userspace. Copy it from the edit window so that you get all the formatting. Then if it gets deleted, you will have access to the information, and you could merge it into the Strozzi Institute article to make that article stronger. --MelanieN (talk) 05:27, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Infinite thanks for your persistent assistance, support and advices. Actually I have send you a talkback when I found myself helpless. Due to the blocking, I cannot even communicate with any other user by for help. When I found that no one is responding after mentioning there names, (mainly:You, Stfg and Anna) my fear of losing another account made me more breathless. After waiting for few minutes, I decided to send a email to Anna (Actually trying to contact you first but you haven't provided any email). 30 mins passed no reply came. At that time thousands of thoughts started creating grief feelings (even I thought you all are ignoring me). You already know that you are one of my best friends here in Wiki, so I give it a last try. Quickly logged out, came to your talk page, asked for help. Then again logged in and found two notifications from stfg. Both the messages made me happy again at the fact that some one is there, who really cares. After few hour you too replied which made me belief that you both are true friends. I don't know if you both think me your friend or not. You're welcome, User:Jim Cartar. I did see your talkback notice but I deleted it from my page, because you should not have been posting anywhere other than your own talk page while you were blocked. I understand your concern. You panicked when you found yourself blocked. But you need to be more patient in expecting responses from people here. Many of us are in very different time zones than you - we may even be asleep - and all of us have "lives" outside of Wikipedia, so we are not necessarily here online at the moment you try to contact us. When you mention us anywhere, we do receive a notice, so "talkback" notices are not really necessary anymore. (Talkback goes back to the days before the automatic notification was introduced.) As I said on your talk page, you do have people you can turn to when you need advice or help, and I am one of them. Hang in there and take the advice people keep giving you: create content, edit the encyclopedia. That doesn't necessarily mean creating new articles. IMO the best way to get comfortable at Wikipedia is to make small edits to existing articles. Anyone can do that, and you don't need anyone's permission. Certainly you can create articles! I know that you have at least one article at AfC right now. But, as you have found, the AfC process is slow and sometimes frustrating. It can take weeks or longer to get your article reviewed. Meanwhile, you want to be doing things. So you can make an edit to an existing article, and it takes effect immediately. No waiting, no frustration. So I would suggest that you do some of both. You are eager to help us improve Wikipedia, and that's good. You can do that by creating articles AND by improving existing articles.

Where to find articles to improve? You can simply read articles of interest to you and see if anything needs correcting or improving. Or you can choose articles from Category:Articles needing cleanup - or if you want to focus on articles about India, look at WikiProject India articles needing cleanup. Suppose you choose the article Basanti Devi College. I see that it has some bad grammar, incomplete sentences and so on; you could fix some of those problems.

From that cleanup list at WikiProject India, you might (for example) decide to work on articles that are orphans - that means articles that are not linked to, from any other Wikipedia articles. If you create one or more links to that article from other Wikipedia articles, you can delete the tag at the top of the page that says "orphan". For an example, take a look at the article 2006 Mangalore riots. It is labeled as an orphan, and you can confirm that it is an orphan by clicking on "what links here" under the "tools" menu on the left side of the page; you see links but none of them are from Wikipedia articles. So you go to the article Bajrang Dal and add a sentence about the riots under the "controversies" section. Include a wikilink to "2006 Mangalore riots". Then go back to the "2006 Mangalore riots" page, verify that it now has a link from "Bajrang Dal", and delete the "orphan" tag from the article. Presto! You have just solved a problem and helped Wikipedia! This is the kind of thing I mean when I say "improve existing articles". Yes, your talk page is on my watchlist. I have started improving existing articles especially orphaned, and gardenwall articles. I have deleted the orphan tag from 2006 Mangalore riots after linking it with Bajrang Dal. And will start copyediting Basanti Devi College shortly.

By the way my draft is still now waiting for review. I'm now really getting frustrated. User:Sitush said he will review it. But 4days passed and no sign of review has been seen till now. I want to take it for DYK but no one is reviewing it. So, I request you to review it. I don't have choice. Please do it for me friend. And you can make the needed changes require. If you can take it to DYK and if it passes then you will have one more article on your DYK list. And similarly I will have my first DYK article. As everyone keeps telling you: AfC is a slow and frustrating process. It can take weeks or months. Four days is nothing. The system is very backlogged, and the people who review those articles have many things on their to-do list. The article will get reviewed eventually, you have to be patient. I see no reason to doubt him. The initials (WMF) after his username are used only by WikiMedia Foundation employees, writing in their official capacity. Some one who reverts

Look at this guy [3]. This user repeatedly reverts other users work without any reason or without following guidelines. Some of the other editors (including me) also told him about this reverting issues. I think he/she should be adviced by any experienced one, to not revert edits like this. It's true he was wrong to restore the orphan tag you deleted. But he accepted your correction and then added another link. I checked a bunch of his edits and most of them are correct and helpful. IMO he is a productive editor who spends his time here making small improvements to articles. In less than a year he has made more than 3,000 edits, almost all of them to articles. Rather than warning him, I would suggest you follow his example - to spend more time improving the encyclopedia and less time worrying about what other users are doing. Compare his edit record to yours and you'll see what I mean.

I see that you have fixed some orphans and that's good. When you add a link to an article, it would be better to put the link into the text, rather than under "see also" which doesn't provide any context. For example, instead of adding "See also Advance Gold" to the "Jeff Berwick" article, you could add a sentence saying "He is on the board of directors of [[Advance Gold]]." In any case, "Advance Gold" was not an orphan; it already had links to it from half a dozen articles.[4] So you could have deleted the "orphan" tag from Advance Gold without adding anything to Jeff Berwick; just use an edit summary like "Not an orphan". I have tested it and frankly it has dozens of problem. First of all we cannot see the differences between two edits. Secondly there is no undo to revert any post. When we comment there, we cannot even put our custom edit summary. Some times this system creates a confusion between reply and comment. Only an admin can delete comments, other editors can only hide them. There are more such issues raised here by others. I want to put this issues on public but I'm afraid to do. Even I'm confused how one can archive the older topics, none of the existing bots might work there. Another possible problem maybe with "add new sections", currently we put our topics at the bottom of the page, but here the topics were going to be posted at the top of the page.

Some users think that it will be a good change for Wikipedia, It will look something like facebook (If you have ever used facebook then you have noticed that the system used there to comment is very similar to FLOW). I totally agree with you @MelanieN but some consensus were going on in some Wikiprojects to call Quiddity (WMF) for the implementation of FLOW in there Noticeboards and discussion pages. They're not asking us. They already know that established Wikipedians may not like the new system. They are going to implement this anyhow, because they think it will be more intuitive and user-friendly for new users. In fact she was promoted. My hunch is that there were a lot of people who agreed with her, but didn't have the nerve to say so, or the dedication to do something to help the victims. Your resolution on Mira Mesa being changed back to misinformation

Hi Melanie, my name is Julia Schriber and I am a president of the Sorrento Valley Town Council. You have earned my great respect when you found a compromise on a Mira Mesa neighborhood article. Although neither side got exactly what they wanted, everything in your resolution article was factual.

I would like to ask for your help again. The Mira Mesa article was edited to take it back to misrepresenting the facts and to claim Sorrento Valley as just a part of Mira Mesa. It was also done under the sign in name JSchriber, which implicates me in making the edits. In addition, the Sorrento Valley neighborhood article was also edited to in effect shrink Sorrento Valley to a small area by the train tracks. As a partial party and to avoid bickering that happened last time (my hubby Schriber participated in that), I am hesitant to make any edits. Hello, User:Jim Cartar! The first thing I notice on a search is that there are many villages by this name, and that a Wikipedia page called Kamalapuram already exists here, as a disambiguation page. So you need to check if the village you are writing about is one of those that already have a page. I think you could change it right now - from Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Kamalapuram to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Kamalapuram, Khamman. (Do you know how to move an article?) That would solve that problem. You already have a couple of good sources, I will look for more. The main objection your reviewer had was not so much sources but style. I don't agree with them about some of their comments - your article does not have WP:peacock terms for example - but here are some suggestions to make it more Wikipedia-like. First, you have three sentences in the lead paragraph that don't belong there; the comments about hospitals and police should be moved to the body of the article. Also, don't use italics for the names of nearby villages and lakes. Also, information like agriculture and water supply is scattered around in different sections; let's reorganize. Based on typical city articles here I would suggest the following sections: Lead paragraph; Geography (including location and size); People (population size and characteristics); Economy (the info about agriculture and crops); Education; Infrastructure (the roads and water supply); Government. --MelanieN (talk) 16:42, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

I think you have not seen the draft history, did you? It is not my draft. I have just saved the draft from getting deleted by G13. It was in a very bad condition. It was full of WP:peacock words, I just rewritten the full draft. The draft was orginally created on 2013. Actually I'm the reviewer of this type of drafts now. I improve drafts that are on the line to get deleted. I have already improved-reviewed-and moved two articles. Muthunur and Nawanagar are the two articles which are just hours away from getting deleted. But I have improved both of them and now they are on mainspace.

They can't be bothered to fix it, but can rest assured that they've done their encyclopedic duty by sticking on a tag. You removed the ecoATM reference from the Sorrento Valley page, citing that it's not significant enough. I'd like to differ with you, and see if you agree. Since ecoATM was acquired by Outerwall (NASDAQ: OUTR) in July 2013, it is now part of a $2.2B corporation. San Diego is the corporate home for the ecoATM line of business, however, Outerwall also owns the Redbox and Coinstar kiosks, which are significant businesses as well as household names. But I noticed that the project is becoming inactive. Only few participants were working. Although almost all participants were regular on Wikipedia but the are not cooperating with this project. Hence the backlog of orphan articles reached sky high with more than 200,000 orphan articles since 2008. I noticed that members are not having interest in joining the project again. If this continues then I'm sure that this project will also become inactive.

Just like saving an old abandaned draft, I have decided to save this project from being inactive. I have started a new backlog drive system. Just like AfC it will also send backlog drive notification to its participants with attractive offers like giving them rewards in the form of barnstar. This will automatically attract the attention of users and they will join again so that the project will become fully active again. I have created a backlog drive notification template {{WPORPHANdrive}} and the list of members who will be notified is here. But it is impossible for me to send them re-join and backlog drive notice on there talkpage (There are more than 40 members). So, I need mass message right for aleast someday to carry out this. I have learned, that to request mass message right I need support from atleast two other Wikipedian (Not compulsary). So I was wondering if you can support me in this matter. Good for you! that you are working on this kind of project. However, I'm not familiar enough with the mass message system/requirements to offer a recommendation. I wonder, too, how do you know that "only a few participants are working on the backlog"? There may be many people working on it, in particular areas rather than through the wikiproject. I know there are people doing this, because I have seen articles get tagged as "another article successfully de-orphaned". And I have worked on the California backlog myself. I doubt if such people would appreciate getting a message saying "come on, get working on this!" @Jim Cartar: one way you could handle this would be to find one of the people on your list who is an administrator and discuss your idea with them. I know because I regularly follow the category of orphan articles. I see changes in newer created articles but I haven't seen any change in articles older than 2011. BTW I follow them by this type of codes {{Rounddown|{{formatnum:{{PAGESINCATEGORY:Orphaned articles from November 2008}}|R}}|-2}}- this code gives me alerts of any changes occur (You can also use it on your junkbox). Most of the participants are established so they are too busy to give time on this. I have also mentioned a opt out instruction here so that I they can stop getting messages. @Stfg: I like your idea. That was a great idea from Stfg. I also recommend that you approach an admin who is interested in orphan articles, to discuss the idea and get their input about whether the mass mailing is a good idea, or what other approaches might work to revitalize the project or maybe recruit new members (that might be a better approach than trying to get existing members back working on it, if they have moved on to other things). I think Sarah in particular would be sympathetic and helpful. We are suggesting an admin, not because admin tools are needed necessarily, but because they would be interested in the project and will give you good advice. To talk to someone, you don't need an opinion from me, because I am not a member of the orphanage project and my opinion really doesn't matter. I guess my opinion is Neutral - in other words, whether to do this or not should be decided by members of the orphanage project, not by me. Question about reflists

33em, or whatever, is generally better then a fixed column layout. This is because by specifying the width of the column, the text is flowed into the available space based on the size of the readers screen, the font they are using, the size of the viewing window and several other factors. So choosing a fixed size is wrong for many readers. The problem with a variable size is that for some users it may add or reduce the number of columns they see. There is no one right size, but variable is almost always better then fixed. I use 33em since that seems to work best on a number of devices, some of which seem to have a break point between one and two columns around 31em or 32em. As a side note, the new fonts may also affect things so once those are settled, I may need to look at the number I use. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:38, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes - not as a canyon exactly, but as a neighborhood or rather a sub-neighborhood. (San Diego has dozens of small canyons within its boundaries; they often give their name to the nearby neighborhood.) Neighborhoods and even sub-neighborhoods do have articles here, several of which I have written, so an article seems possible. Swan Canyon is part of the community of City Heights, San Diego and is mentioned at that page. I didn't find much in the way of independent sourcing; what were you planning use as sources? I would say that Swan Canyon is better known than they are. In a quick Google search for Swan Canyon, I mainly found information from real estate companies, which won't help you much. Here is a link to the city of San Diego's mentions of Swan Canyon; again, that may not help you much, but at least here is evidence that it exists. Here is a map of the neighborhood, so you can tell what its boundaries are. The article should be titled Swan Canyon, San Diego and could be modeled after some of the Point Loma sub-neighborhoods such as Roseville-Fleetridge, San Diego or Loma Portal, San Diego. --MelanieN (talk) 15:34, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi Melanie, I didn't get a chance to reply to your query at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Contiki Tours (2nd nomination) before the AFD was closed but I thought I would reply here. Both books (effectively the same book under different titles by the same author) talk about Contiki in detail as a "right of passage" for Australian and New Zealand "bogan" young adults (see bogan). "Ignorance" is ironically appropriate, but certainly not on your part. When I have some time I'll try to find a few more... academic... sources to put WP:N beyond doubt. Thanks for your input there. There are several mountain ranges by that name; none of them have Wikipedia articles. Currently San Miguel Mountains redirects to San Juan Mountains in Colorado; apparently it's a lesser known name for the San Juan Mountains. That redirect could easily be expanded to be about something else. But there are several mountain ranges called the San Miguel Mountains - one in New Mexico and one in Mexico. In the San Diego area (actually in Chula Vista) there is a San Miguel Mountain, also called Mount San Miguel; I think Mount San Miguel is the more common name for it. Synthetic DNA

Hi Melanie... there are already a bunch of related articles on this. Drbogdan added news of this to them last night (see that user's contribs), and I followed after and moderated those additions. In light of articles we already have like Synthetic biology (which is the key article for the news piece, Expanded genetic code (which needs a ton of work), and especially Nucleic acid analogue which is exactly analogous to the article you created on Synthetic DNA, I don't think we need the new article. Would you be OK merging Synthetic DNA into Nucleic acid analogue? Additionally, as per WP:MEDRS content on this kind of thing should receive minimal weight until there are scientific secondary sources that discuss it -- many things in biology turn out not to be replicable by other groups (has happened many times in the stem cell field, for example, where big splashy news turned out to based on papers that were later retracted. Thanks for your note, Jytdog. I looked all over for any coverage of this before creating the article; I couldn't find it in any logical place and was puzzled why nobody had reported it. Apparently that was because it was buried under titles where no one would think to look. "Nucleic acid analogue" is a horrible and inaccurate title; these are nucleic acids chemically, not something else that resembles a nucleic acid. "Synthetic DNA" is a much better title IMO. (I guess as long as it remained as a redirect, people would be able to find the information.) The article "Expanded genetic code" could be a target, except that it is written in science-ese too dense for the average reader. About a merge/redirect, I need to think about it and get input from additional people. thanks for talking. i agree that the whole suite of synthetic biology articles is too technically written and really needs to be knit together to make a coherent whole. i don't really care which way a merge would go but we have two completely overlapping articles now. actually Nucleic acid analogue cannot be merged into "synthetic DNA" because the "nucleic acid analogue" article talks about RNA too; it has to be the other way. This is pretty hardcore biology stuff and I don't know how much you know about biology. When you get down into detail like this (and this is indeed pretty drilled-down detail) the information is technical. I am sorry that you didn't find the content that was created last night, but again I am not sure how much you understood of what you were looking at... please don't be offended I am not trying to be a dick but competence does matter when dealing with technical stuff like this. I do agree that the current articles need to be written less technically! There is so much work to be done in many many of the biology articles and there are not nearly as many editors working on them as there on, say, video games. Jytdog (talk) 21:09, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

I shouldn't have to defend my competence, but just so you know: my degree is in chemistry and I have worked in the medical lab field for many years. I am not a molecular biologist, but someone with my background should have been able to find the information - and should be regarded as capable of writing about it. I believe Wikipedia articles are supposed to be written in a way that would be understandable to an average college graduate, at least; if one needs a degree in the field to understand what the article is saying, then it needs to be rewritten. And if one needs ESP to find the information because of the article title that has been chosen, that is also not the way Wikipedia should work. I assure you I spent 20 minutes looking to see if anyone had written anything on this subject, before I decided to write an article. As you saw, I did find the article "Artificial gene synthesis," a fairly obvious target - and when even that hadn't been updated I decided no one had done anything.

For your part, I notice a very strong element of WP:OWNERSHIP when it comes to medical and scientific articles, and I hope that isn't going to be a barrier to our working together. I have also been a professional medical writer, rewriter and editor, so I could be of some help in reducing jargon and putting articles into shape where they could be read by a reasonably educated layperson - but not if someone like you feels entitled to overrule every decision and revert everything that doesn't meet your standards. (Might your attitude be part of the reason why there are "not nearly as many editors working on" biology articles? Give it some thought.)

There are not many qualified editors in this subject so I really look forward to enjoy an easy-going collaboration. Two things: Do you have a copy or access to the whole article? This one is behind a paywall. The other thing is that I think that we should use both the WP:Common name and the technical name (to be determined); at the moment, my suggestion is to write it now as a section in Synthetic biology and later, create its own article with a technical descriptive name for precision. I agree in that "analogue" is incorrect, as the new nucleobases are not competing or substituting for an exiting one (they seem to be an expansion of the 4 natural nucleobases), and "expanded genome" should include genomic RNA, which is not quite this case. I have send a message to all the administrators present in Wikipedia. You can see the message in any administrators talkpage. I assumed good faith and was helping Anna Frodesiak for her proposal which has not been responded by any one. Don't panic; you always over-react. You do not appear to be in any danger of being blocked. That discussion has already been closed, but I didn't see ANYONE saying that you should be blocked. I thought someone might suggest taking away your right to send mass messages, but that hasn't been suggested either. People do realize that you did it in good faith. The only comment at that discussion, before it was closed, was that you should be warned to restrict your use of the mass-message tool to the purpose for which you requested it, namely, the orphan project. Just offhand: I don't see much in the article to establish the notability of this film. Just because the people involved in making it were notable, doesn't mean that the film itself was. Did it win any awards? Can you find any reviews? Any references in books or newspapers, documenting the importance of this film (rather than the people who made it)? I'll nominate the article for DYK, but in its current state, some people may doubt its notability. Do you know the film was one of the first black & white films in India (See the image of the film poster). The film was released more than 60 years ago. So it is not possible to get sources online or film review about a film which was released 6 decades earlier. But I'm happy atleast two websites talk about the film and it is enough to establish notability. And in India we generally not give much priority to films. So, the NFILM cannot enforce in this case. The comment at the DyK nomination said it might be a more interesting hook if this was the FIRST film produced by Chopra. In fact that is exactly what IMDB says,[6], although IMDB is not considered a reliable source at Wikipedia. • Dr. SuttonClawson, thanks for making it clear that you want it removed. You will notice that the rest of us are in some uncertainty and discussion at the talk page about how to do that, given the Wikipedia rules about what qualifies for "speedy deletion". The easiest way to remove it is for you yourself, as the main author of the page, to request that it be deleted. All you have to do is go to the page and post at the top of the page, above everything else, this code: {{Db-g7}} . In the edit summary, say "I am the author of this article and I want it deleted, since it has been transwikied to Wikiversity." It should be gone fairly quickly. Meanwhile I will go to the article and revert the redirect that Amatulic put in, so as to restore the page and make it clear what you want deleted. Louis John Gill

I think it's interesting that he had such an eclectic impact: the Zoo; landmark churches; as a big name in Spanish Revival; the Administration building (which is PWA Moderne, a new article I had to write and was surprised didn't exist). Nope. I do little or no posting from a mobile phone, and when I do it's from an iphone, not an android. As for the beta app I wouldn't touch it; I like the original Wikipedia format with the Vector skin. I find the beta app of little use on my Samsung S5 Android phone except for reading a bit. I use the web browser instead. Never tried to use it on my Samsung Tab 2 10.1, I just use the browser, which isn't a great experience to be honest, hard to post on or load larger, more complex pages like ANI.
