Proposed deletion of Giampiero Neri edit

The article Giampiero Neri has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. About Draft: Alessandro Serpieri edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft: Alessandro Serpieri a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into "Draft:"Alessandro Serpieri. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Recent edit reversion edit

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 14:17, 22 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for your message. Maybe I am doing something wrong... I am not sure. I am using sources and reworking them as recomanded but maybe in my draft it was no yet reworked enough... In addition I took all "selected work" from italian wikipedia and maybe it has generated the report... Anyway, let me know if I can continue. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Menotti Lerro into Augusto Orrel: memorie d'orrore e poesia. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:37, 2 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

August 2022 edit

Hello, Gingeksace. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. The page Contemporary Center of Arts has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

This article needs to be rewritten from scratch from reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not an outlet for promotion, advocacy, or advertising.

Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid can be located here and here, however be aware that this is not an exhaustive list. Pages can sometimes avoid these pitfalls and still be seen as an ad copy or unambiguously promotional, particularly if the editor appears to be a paid editor or has some other conflict of interest. Please review these policies, including the FAQ page on organizations to determine if this applies to you.

Common mistakes or beliefs about promotional editing center on the assumption that promotional editing only applies to promotion for commercial gain. Some tags or G11 nominations are met with confusion by creators, particularly if they spend much time reading or creating corporate documents, mission/vision statements, or similar copy for their organization. The frequent exposure to promotional tone may make it difficult to notice non-neutral phrases or styles, as the editor has grown accustomed to seeing it as everyday writing or speech. This can be difficult, but not impossible, to unlearn.

Another common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. and CV/resumé's are by their nature promotional.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see this page on citing sources. This page has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{Reflist}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there. New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can also ask for help at the TEAHOUSE and on IRC chat.

New article creation can be difficult and frustrating. Sometimes it is better to first gain experience by fixing and helping maintain existing articles. Wikipedia:Community portal/Opentask contains links to things that badly need doing, if you are so inclined.

Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, Gingeksace. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Menotti Lerro, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted.

While we are appreciative of your efforts and interest in the encyclopedia, it seems clear that you have a conflict of interest WP:COI with Menotti Lerro and his various productions such as these article creations: Ritagli, Il Dottor Faust, Augusto Orrel: memorie d'orrore e poesia, 2084: Il potere dell'immortalità nelle città del dolore, I Battiti della Notte, New Manifesto of Arts, Cultural Pyramid of Cilento, Empathism, Donna Giovanna, l'ingannatrice di Salerno, Cilento Poetry Prize. Wikipedia should never be used for promotion or advertising.

There are also issues with the photos you have added to these articles, How is it that you have taken so many photographs of him, his work and his events going back to at least 2015 if you are an unconnected editor as you state on my talk page? The photos are uploaded as your "own work". How did you get licensing permission to upload his copyrighted artworks? You have also uploaded numerous newspaper articles as your own work which is a copyright violation. Could you please explain? Many thanks! Netherzone (talk) 16:32, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I understand what you say... Indeed I asked the author by e-mail to use his pictures as my own work and he agreed.
I think, indeed, the opera of this author earned to be on wikipedia: so many books apprecited critically (there are monographs about him in both Italy and in UK), prizes, relevant critics writing of him on relevant magazines. International successs too.
I think we should concentrate on that and help an author that seems making a honest and strong carrier earning a position. There are two degrees, a Master of Arts and a PHD too all in literature. And teaching for years at university. Please, if I may ask, do not focus so much attention on this aspect of "own work pictures..." tHis author has so many things to say...
With very best wishes. 16:40, 8 August 2022 Gingeksace (talk) 16:45, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
About all creations you metions: I just inserted one by one thinking it was nice to give a complete work of an author. As always I thought that if there were not enough reference and reasons to be there, someone would have been contested and deleted that.
I Think I worked in good faith trying just to focus my attention on this author more than others (by the way I written many articles on old or death poets too... Gingeksace (talk) 16:51, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
...about newspaper violetion: I am sorry: I thought that scannering an article made it automatically become the same article as "my own work". I had not interest to violate copyright... I am not just enough expert of all these things... I am sincerely sorry for it... It is so bad to be accused to violate copyright.... Anyway, I am learning so many things... Thanks!
Best wishes Gingeksace (talk) 17:11, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm not disputing that you acted in good faith, and realize that Italian WP may have different rules and guidelines, and you may not have known that. If you are unsure about something, ask at the WP:TEAHOUSE or WP:HELPDESK. Regarding the photos on Commons, you can ask at their Helpdesk, since they are a separate entity from WP. In the meantime, please do follow the English Wikipedia guidelines regarding declaring your Conflict of Interest. Thank you, Netherzone (talk) 17:25, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
ok. Thank you!
Regards Gingeksace (talk) 17:28, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I wish to add that maybe through my enthusiasm, but lack of knowledge of the rules, I've made something of a mess. Sorry!! Gingeksace (talk) 07:55, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Since 2015, you have had a conflict of interest with Menotti Lerro and all of his associated pages listed above. Do not remove COI tags on articles with which you have a conflict of interest. You must declare your COI on your user page. You need to stop directly editing pages with which you have a COI and start using the Edit Request Feature. It seems you have not bothered to read our guidelines on conflict of interest - read them at this link WP:COI, and if there is anything you do not understand see this link on Plain and Simple Conflict of Interest Guide WP:PSCOI. Editors who do not comply with our policies and guidelines risk losing their editing privileges. I will be replacing the COI tags, as these articles are very promotional which is against one of our key policies WP:PROMO. Netherzone (talk) 17:18, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, if a ask, but I really do not understand what is promotional in this article...
It is an italian excellence for literature who wrote 40 books and they are just listed. What is promotional? indeed I do not understand it... Gingeksace (talk) 17:41, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Menotti Lerro article was created as a draft and it was accepted. After it has been improved with help of some experts of wikipedia. I do not see what is promotional here...
SOrry if I am frank... but It is not nice to talk of promotional in this case I think... Gingeksace (talk) 17:48, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I did not write anything promotional therefore I do not accept you talk and put tags like this to me.
Menotti Lerro is one of the most relevant italian author from years and there are monographs sayoing this. So, I do not understand why you look so strongly convinced he dosn't earn the right to be on wikipedia. I see very week profiles in the fild of literature on wikipedia but you did not notice those. The worst one for you is Menotti LErro (both as author and as article?) Gingeksace (talk) 17:52, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
However, ok, I do not write anything else... because I ereally do not understand...
Thank you and sorry if I am unable to understand where the real problem is... but it is my foulf of course. Gingeksace (talk) 17:59, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
By the way, we all know that very very often behind an article of a living author there are some conflict, some direct influence... It is often evident that article are written from the same authors (and it can be good in some way, because they know the rreal biography). I think the real important thing should be is there are not the requirements to be enciclopedic or not.
Lets try to be a bit more flexible if possible... Gingeksace (talk) 18:05, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please address the COI issues.

  • Did you remove COI tags on articles related to Menotti Lerro and his projects?
  • Have you disclosed your COI on your user page?
Netherzone (talk) 18:16, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
The poit is I am not promoting anything. I am creating honest beautiful pages of good literature. I see you write of arts and poetry too. You should understand these things.
As I have explained I just asked the author to use as mu own work some pictures and he agreed. Can you prove I have a COI? Gingeksace (talk) 18:20, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I ask you to remove yourself all these tags you put and help to polish the pages. Menotti Lerro creeated the most important movement in contemporary age Empathism give an hand to improve it, not try to delete it. Thanks a lot. All the best Gingeksace (talk) 18:26, 9 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I wish to underline I just made a section to explain I have contacted my subject Menotti Lerro to ask to use his pictures. Gingeksace (talk) 07:39, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ritagli moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Ritagli, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The sourcing on this article consists of non-independent sources, calendar listings, press releases. Does not support notability.Netherzone (talk) 21:59, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Same for Battiti della notte I am afraid... :-) Gingeksace (talk) 02:29, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I Battiti della Notte moved to draftspace edit

The sources are not independent, they consist of press releases, calendar listings, blog or do not mention him at all. Netherzone (talk) 22:12, 11 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I understand...I thought that sources were more important... but they actually are not...
I am now understanding more of what can be important for an article to be relevant...
Thanks to give me the opportunity to improve it. BUt I don't see around other better sources for it...
Non è tutto oro quello che luce! (did you know this Italian saying?) ;-) Gingeksace (talk) 02:28, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hello Gingeksace, it is the quality of the sources, not the quantity that is important. And also the sources must demonstrate in-depth significant coverage, not just a mention or a listing. Lastly sources should be independent of the subject, not connected to the subject or sponsoring the subject.
I think I get the saying! Fool's gold may sparkle and attract the eye, but is not real gold....and therefore does not have the same value.
To my way of thinking, a good approach to these two articles would be to merge the content into the Menotti Lerro article, and then have these two deleted. But that is just my opinion, it would involve a discussion with other editors. What do you think about that? Netherzone (talk) 04:07, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you a lot! Indeed you got the saying and I like the English version you gave too... :)) I think I agree with your opinion about the possibility to merge the content into the Menotti Lerro article and delete these two... Gingeksace (talk) 04:24, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Gingeksace, I'm glad that you think you agree with this plan, since the two shorter articles duplicate content and are mainly sourced to primary, connected sources. For example, the Draft:Ritagli article has the same content as the Menotti Lerro article except for the mention of the permanent aspect of the series of visual poems. So what I can do is add the permanent display information, and an independent reliable source to Lerro. Then the draft can be deleted or left to expire in draft space. This will improve the Lerro article and will start to resolve the WP:WALLEDGARDEN. We can go thru the other articles one by one as we find the time, and we can discuss the changes as we go.
I want you to know that I've never disputed Lerro's notability, only the promotional tone of that article (which can be fixed in the future, and I will explain in detail at that time why certain things are promo.)
The other related articles (the WP:WALLEDGARDEN of associated articles) are content forks and are unnecessary. See more info here WP:CONTENTFORK. For example, Cultural Pyramid of Cilento, Empathism and New Manifesto of Arts are very closely related, repeat the same content and don't need to be separate articles. They can all be folded into the Lerro article, or into the Empathism article. Again, the primary, non-independent sources and trivial mentions like event listings and press releases should be removed so that the sourcing consists of independent reliable sources only - the type that belongs in an encyclopedia. "Consolidate and improve" can guide the way.
Does this make sense to you? If not please respond so we can continue to discuss and clarify. Best wishes, Netherzone (talk) 18:52, 12 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Dear Netherzone,
Thank you a lot for your explanations and suggestions: I think you are perfectly right about the way to follow and I will glad to assist at this process.
Maybe I would leave, as you also suggest, as main articles of reference the Menotti Lerro's one and the Empathism one and merge into them the Pyramid and Manifesto articles (maybe better using the method of the draft leaving them expire...).
Thank you a lot for all this.
With my best regards. Gingeksace (talk) 00:45, 13 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Those two articles Menotti Lerro and Empathism seem like the two most important and notable ones of the group. Thank you for working together with me. I'll continue to work on cleaning things up as I find the time. If there are any questions I will reach out, and please do not hesitate to reach out to me as well. Netherzone (talk) 00:50, 13 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I agree. It will give also more compactness at the main articles. It is nice to work together and to learn so many things, thanks!
I will be ready, in case, to ask or make observations... Gingeksace (talk) 00:56, 13 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about New Manifesto of Arts edit

Hello, Gingeksace, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Sideswipe9th, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, New Manifesto of Arts, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/New Manifesto of Arts.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Sideswipe9th}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi, thanks for letting me know. In my opinion this article is about an important, innovative and niche topic. I think it worth to keep it and wait for possible relevant developments. But of course I will accept your decision. Best wishes. Gingeksace (talk) 17:36, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
