Of course, Gwen...

Hey Aoba47. Could you look comment your opinions on both this and that? I have nominated two articles in the past day and neither of them have had much attention, so it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Carbrera (talk) 02:46, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

  • @Carbrera: There is nothing wrong with choosing articles and subject mater that you enjoy. I have certainly chosen some crazy subject matters to focus on for my research (mostly Passions-related stuff) lol. I will definitely review your nominations as soon as I can (over the next couple of days). Unfortunately, I believe your FAC for This Is What the Truth Feels Like will be flagged by more users as violating FA criterion 1e given that it is currently only edit-accessible to administrators. If it is alright with you I will start with the featured list candidate until the matter with the FAC is cleared up by more experienced users. Aoba47 (talk) 02:58, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
  • @Carbrera: Thank you! I am in the middle of job applications and working on a particular annoying draft in my sandbox, but I will get to it as soon as I have time if that is okay with you. Aoba47 (talk) 02:59, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
  • Hey, since the FA nom for This Is What the Truth Feels Like was unfortunately withdrawn by myself, I decided to work on "Make Me Like You" so I nominated that instead. JL1 lauds

I'd like to start out by apologizing for never contributing to Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?/archive1. I had this impression that FACs went for a really long time (at least a month) before they closed, so I hadn't gotten around to it. I'm sorry. On the plus side, it made it! Yay!

What brought me here however, was your work on Janeway Lambda one. I am so terribly impressed with your work on that article! I never, in my wildest dreams, would have expected there to be enough material to build an article around such a topic. Wow! Keep up the good work! If you're a Trekkie, maybe I'll see you at WP:TREK? Anyways, cheers! — fourthords | =Λ= | 17:50, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

  • @Fourthords: Thank you for kind words! And no worries about the FAC. I think FACs usually take a month, but I was fortunate enough for have several people help me out with it so it went by very quickly. And thank you for your comment about Janeway Lambda one. I put a lot of time and energy into it as I was really interested and learning more about the production and development of that storyline. I am planning on working on it even more to get it to the level of an FA. I would definitely love to work on more with Star Trek-related articles. I am have recently re-watched Voyager (that was the one I grew up on), and I am looking forward to watching the rest (Voyager was the only television series from Star Trek I have seen all the way though up to this point). Please feel free to let me know if you need any help with anything. I always enjoy working with other people on here. I think the community aspect of Wikipedia is the best part. Arthur (video game series)

In a similar vein to Madeline (video game series), I decided to create an article on the video games in the Creative Wonders LearningBuddies series featuring Arthur. The scope expanded a little bit when I realised Arthur games expand a little bit beyond LearningBuddies. Nevertheless, I just created a first draft and I'd love for you to check it out. :)--Coin945 (talk) 04:57, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

  • @Coin945: Wow! Great work with that article so far. I am very impressed. I will definitely check it out and help out as much as I can when I have the chance. I'm not that great at Wikipedia, but I will try my best. Aoba47 (talk) 04:59, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
  • I think you're amazing at Wikipedia! Your work so far is awesome. I know Madeline and Arthur are good, and they have the potential to be great! Those sources I added to the Madeline talk page should help you out. I was reading through some of them and am amazed by the interesting information there is out there. :D--Coin945 (talk) 05:13, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
  • @Coin945: Thank you, but I still have a lot to learn. I greatly appreciate any help with the Madeline article, and good luck with the Arthur articles. I will help whenever I can and have the time. Aoba47 (talk) 05:20, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Carmen Sandiego

  • @Coin945: Great work on those pages. Carmen Sandiego's Great Chase Through Time is actually one of my favorite edutainment games so I think it is awesome that you put some much work into it. I actually think you did a majority of the heavy lifting for the Madeline article so I can definitely take some points and tips from you. I have also nominated the Madeline for GAN just so you know, and submitted a hook related to it for DYK so it could appear on the main page and hopefully get some more attention and support. Thank you again! Aoba47 (talk) 17:39, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Madeline

  • I think I may have been a bit too comprehensive with my work on the article. It needs copyedit or two to make it flow smoother and present information more concisely - I'll leave it to you. In other news, as I said on the talk page, I'm essentially done with this article. I'm ready to move onto something new. Would you like to collaborate further after this article? :)--Coin945 (talk) 14:35, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
  • @Coin945: I have submitted a request for this article to be copy-edited through the WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors and I will go through and do some copy-editing of my own. I think that it is great that you did so much comprehensive research and work! I would love to collaborate with you in the future, but I will probably take a break from heavy lifting on here (for real this time) as there is a lot of things that I want to get done outside of Wikipedia. While I really enjoyed working on this article, it took a lot of me lol. But, thank you again for your support. :-) Aoba47 (talk) 15:42, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
  • @Coin945: Thank you for adding yourself to the nomination. I feel like you did most of the work on this article lol. I was about to do it, but I forgot how to add you so I am glad that you did it first :) Aoba47 (talk) 17:37, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

  The Original Barnstar
Just wanted to let you know that, even with your experience with TV and music articles, to dive into an article that is a) a series article instead of an individual game, b) an edutainment article, and c) from the 90s before easy online sourcing, and do such a good job so quickly really is triple-amazing, and I thought it should be recognized. PresN 22:19, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
  • @PresN: Thank you! That is very sweet of you. I owe a lot of the work to Coin945, who did an amazing job finding all those resources, and I really enjoyed being able to closely collaborate with people on here. It did take a lot of work, but I am very proud of it. Hopefully, it will inspire other users to consider an edutainment article when picking an article to expand or revise. Peer review - GOT

Hello Aoba47, Sorry to bother you, but I have nominated the episode "Battle of the Bastards"(Season 6, Episode 9 from Game of Thrones(Spoiler Alert)) for a peer review(Wikipedia:Peer review/Battle of the Bastards/archive1). The article has already passed for a Good Article. I would appreciate it, if you have any time, could you just give a look and tell me what in the article I can improve, for it to someday become a "Feature Article". AffeL (talk) 21:31, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

  • @AffeL: Thank you for your message. I will provide my comments sometime later in the week if that is okay. Since I have not seen this episode, or even this season, then it might be helpful to get my point of view to make sure everything is clear to an unfamiliar reader. And do not worry about the "Spoiler Alert" warnings as I am not interested in the show. Aoba47 (talk) 21:37, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
Thank you so much. Take all the time, there is no hurry. I am just glad that you are willing to have a look. AffeL (talk) 22:00, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

I am not sure about your time zone so I can't say for sure how that matches up). I apologize for the delay. This week has been hectic for me, and I'm trying to take a break from here to be more productive irl. Aoba47 (talk) 06:25, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Do you think you could take a look at my edits for "Make Me Like You"? I took your suggestion with "S&M" and after some minor edits, the two articles seem highly comparable. Redirecting the individual Madeline video articles

I think we should redirect the individual Madeline article, given the comprehensiveness of the series article. Thoughts? (Also, given my recent additions to the article, it needs a copyedit or two. Still, it's an incredible article on an edutainment video game that I hope increased the genre's perceived legitimacy across Wikipedia)--Coin945 (talk) 13:24, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

  • @Coin945: I agree with your opinion about redirecting the individual Madeline article as the series article is comprehensiveness to cover everything. I have submitted a request in the WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors, so it will be copyedited by an outside part sometime in the next month. You have done an incredible job with this article, so you should be proud of this work. Good luck with future work as well. Aoba47 (talk) 17:14, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

GA Cup Announcement

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup

Greetings, all!

We would like to announce the start of the 4th GA Cup, a competition that seeks to encourage the reviewing of Good article nominations! Thus far, there have been three GA Cups, which were successful in reaching our goals of significantly reducing the traditionally long queue at GAN, so we're doing it again. Currently, there are over 400 nominations listed. We hope that we can again make an impact this time.

The 4th GA Cup will begin on November 1, 2016. Four rounds are currently scheduled (which will bring the competition to a close on February 28, 2017), but this may change based on participant numbers. We may take a break in December for the holidays, depending on the results of a poll of our participants taken shortly after the competition begins. The sign-up and submissions process will remain the same, as will the scoring.

Sign-ups for the upcoming competition are currently open and will close on October 31, 2016. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors, so sign-up now!

If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the judges.

Cheers from 3family6, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, List of songs recorded by Alyssa Milano), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Dark Angel (video game)

Hi Aoba47. Thanks so much for review at Max Guevara, I have just finished addressing the last of your concerns there. Please don't feel obligated as you've already done me a big favour, but just throwing it out there, if you're still in the mood for more Dark Angel I currently have the video game, Dark Angel (video game), also nominated at GAN. Normally I don't advertise my nominations but it has occurred to me that if both articles pass GAN within a week of each other I can nominated them together for a multiple DYK, something i've never done before. I'd be happy to review one of two of your nominations (be they PR, GAN, FAC or anything else) in return. If you don't have any nomination at present i'd be happy to owe you a favour in return for when you do. But if you're not interested, no worries at all. I have left a similar request for a review at Project Video games. Have a nice day. Freikorp (talk) 23:28, 24 October 2016 (UTC)

  • @Freikorp: No worries, I can pick this up for review. I will have my comments up by the end of the week, if that is okay with you. Aoba47 (talk) 01:13, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. :) Freikorp (talk) 01:32, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
@Freikorp: Anytime! Aoba47 (talk) 04:18, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
@Freikorp: Just so you know, I will be working on this slowly throughout the week, and will upload all of my comments at once if that is okay (I am attempting to balance my internship, and personal/creative writing with this so I am trying to be better with time management). If I do not upload my comments by the end of the week, please message me and let me know. I usually get back to GANs right away, so I apologize for the delay on my part. I enjoy reading the article so far (makes me want to work on the article about the Alias video game lol) Aoba47 (talk) 02:13, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
No worries, whenver you're ready is fine with me. :) Freikorp (talk) 08:43, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for passing the article. If you'd like a hand writing the Alias video game article, or anything else, just let me know. :) Freikorp (talk) 13:22, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
@Freikorp: Will do :) Aoba47 (talk) 13:26, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

@Freikorp: Hello again, I was wondering if you could help me with either my FAC for Love, Inc. (here) or my FLC for Shannen Doherty filmography (here). I understand that both of these items are outside of your area of interest, but I would greatly appreciate your input (it may be better actually to get feedback from an unfamiliar reader). I understand if you are unable to help with either, as it is a busy time of the year. I hope everything is going well for you. Thank you either way. Aoba47 (talk) 20:12, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Aoba47. No worries, i'll be happy to look at both of these nominations in the coming days. Coincidentally i've been meaning to put the final touches on Dark Angel (TV series) before nominating it for FAC and have just done that today: see nomination here. It's my first TV series nomination so i'm rather happy to look at someone else's for a bit of a comparison. Incidentally the double DYK hook from the two Dark Angel related articles you promoted is queued to appear on the front page tomorrow. :) Freikorp (talk) 01:17, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
@Freikorp: Thank you for your response! I would love to help with your FAC for Dark Angel (TV series). It would be really cool to get a better idea for myself too about the formatting/structure of a FA about a television show. Congrats with the DYK hook, and I think it is awesome that you are doing some much work for Dark Angel-related articles. I probably will not be able to comment on the FAC until the end of the work, as I am extremely busy. I apologize for the delay >< Aoba47 (talk) 04:00, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016-2017 GA Cup

Sign-ups for the upcoming competition are currently open and will close on November 14, 2016. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors, so sign-up now!

If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the judges.

Cheers from 3family6, Figureskatingfan, Jaguar, MrWooHoo, and Zwerg Nase. We apologize for the delay in sending out this message until after the competition has started. Thank you to Krishna Chaitanya Velaga for aiding in getting this message out.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Madeline (video game series) update

My book arrived today and I've since taken every piece of usable information and placed it into the article. I think I need to take a break from this article for now. As my hard-working collaborator, would you kindly head over there and copyedit it in preparation for the Peer Review and GAN?--Coin945 (talk) 11:26, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

@Coin945: Awesome! I am glad to hear that everything worked out with the book. I can definitely go through the article and copyedit it. I will try to get to by the end of tomorrow. Thank you for the note. Aoba47 (talk) 13:35, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Trenyce

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Trenyce has been completed.

I hate drive-by taggers who don't explain why they have added a tag on an article's talk page. I'm assuming the unreliable source tag is because of The Smoking Gun citation so I did a quick search and found the same information on the TVGuide site and added it. If you think this was the issue then you should remove The Smoking Gun reference and the tag. You'll also notice a [by whom?] tag in the 2002-2003 American Idol section. You need to clarify who and why and cite it or just leave it out (it's not really germane to her story.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Regards,

Twofingered Typist (talk) 14:32, 12 November 2016 (UTC)

@Twofingered Typist: Thank you for your help! The unreliable source tag was added actually because of the first source (Memphis Downtowner). I didn't realize it until it was pointed out to me by another user, but the source is written by Trenyce herself so the reliability of the source was called into question. Aoba47 (talk) 15:14, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
@Aoba47: I see your problem. Still, it would be helpful if people noted their "issues" on the Talk page. This might be a useful citation some of the "problem" text. http://chicago.gopride.com/news/article.cfm/articleid/1980625 Good luck! Twofingered Typist (talk) 21:08, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
@Twofingered Typist: I will add a note about it to the Talk page to make it completely transparent. And that is a good idea. If I ever decide to come back to work on this article, I will definitely keep that in mind. Thank you for your help! :-) Aoba47 (talk) 21:16, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
