[User Ed Fitzgerald thoughts]

Specially when he says:

A personal prescription for surviving Wikipedia

1. Concentrate on editing. The social networking aspects of Wikipedia are a quagmire, and much too easy to be gradually sucked in to. Wikipedia may be a community, but it's a highly dysfunctional one that's it's best to remain aloof from, at least as much as humanly possible.

2. Cut back your watchlist as much as possible. Only watch articles which you've created or substantially improved, or which are very important to keep from being ruined.

3. Cut back on monitoring noticeboards. They're a snare and an illusion [sic], and very wasteful of time.

4. For any future RfCs, AN/I reports, etc. make one brief response, then ignore them as much as possible. Some short additional replies may be warranted, but be careful not to feed the opposition with too much information.

5. Drop any effort that proves not to be worth the energy.

6. When challenged, give it one more try, then drop the effort and go away; it's not worth fighting them.

7. You cannot win against an admin who really wants to win.

8. Remember: They are armed, you are not. When two admins tell you that black is white, it is fruitless to continue to try to show them that black is black and white is white. You don't need to accept their idiocy, just realize that there's little you can do about it, and continuing will just get you punished in some way.

9. Learn the lesson that collectively, Wikipedia doesn't want to be saved, it's not even very concerned about being fixed. It is quite happy being what it is, flawed or not.

10. Most importantly: Stay uninvolved, learn not to care.

While Wikipedia has many editors who are reasonable and willing to discuss things rationally to reach a compromise, or perhaps even change their minds, it also has more than its share of rigid, dogmatic, inflexible, unimaginative people who are unwilling or unable to see value in anything except their own fixed ideas. Interacting with these people will, eventually, grind you down, because while there are only a limited number of ways to improve an article, there are many, many ways to screw it up, some of which are, unfortunately, supported by wrong-headed Wikipedia policies. For all these reasons, it's best to do your editing and then move on and DON'T LOOK BACK. Looking back only opens the possibility that you'll find out that one of those rigid and dogmatic people has undone your work and is willing to go to the mat to prevent it from being fixed. You can't win with people like that, and the attempt to do so will only raise your blood pressure and aggravate you.

Danyl Aaron Johnson (born 17 June 1982) is an English singer-songwriter, actor, and dancer. He first rose to fame during the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009, where he impressed judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh, and Dannii Minogue with his rendition of Joe Cocker's With A Little Help From My Friends, which instantly became a Youtube sensation, with currently over 16 million views.[1]

Early life Danyl Johnson was born on the 17th June 1982 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, and moved to Emmer Green, Reading in Berkshire when he was fourteen years old. He later moved to Aborfield, outside of Reading a few years ago. He worked as a Dance and Drama teacher, having taught at three stage schools, including the Southcote-based renowned stage school Starmaker and School of the Arts (SOTA) in Windsor.[2]

Johnson was previously a member of two boy bands: Upfrunt and StreetLevel.[3] StreetLevel disbanded in 2006 as they were unable to find the right management and direction, and Danyl subsequently auditioned for The X Factor's third series. However, he did not make it past the early stages and therefore was unable to audtion infront of the judges.

Johnson is also a member of the band Empty Spaces. He and his band mate, Nick Burrage, continued to perform as a duo whilst the sixth series of The X Factor was set in motion. However, after Johnson’s first audition was aired on TV- followed by his commitments to the show- there was little time to perform as a band. The pair remain close friends, and the material they produced together continues to be popular today.

Danyl was the last to audition in London on the first day of The X Factor auditions. By this point Simon Cowell -along with the other judges- felt that no talent had been found, leaving Cowell in a bad mood. However, after Johnson auditioned, he received a standing ovation from all four judges, with Simon Cowell hailing his performance of "With a Little Help From My Friends" -by The Beatles- "the best first audition I have ever heard". Johnson swiftly received four yeses and was through to boot-camp and subsequently ending up in the final twelve of the live shows.

The X Factor

Danyl auditioned for the sixth series of X Factor in June 2009. After impressing the judges, receiving a standing ovation from all four judges, with Simon Cowell declaring it to be "the best first audition I have ever heard", Johnson went on to earn his place in the final 12, as part of the Over 25s category. Danyl quickly became the bookies favourite, becoming the centre of much media attention. Danyl also proved to be the viewers favourite throughout the competition, topping the first live show with 27% of the votes, out of 12 finalists’. As a shock to everyone, Danyl found himself in the bottom two during week three despite receiving positive comments from all four judges, but came out stronger and topped the following weeks votes with a staggering 37% of the votes. He went on to top the voting in week 5 also. Unfortunately Danyl narrowly missed out on the final by a minute 0.2 percent, leaving many viewers gutted and shocked, but continues to remain passionate about a career in music, and is currently working on his debut album.[4]

Danyl performed the following songs on the X Factor 2009.[5]

After the X Factor Danyl continued to prove his popularity and talent by performing at venues up and down the UK as well as taking part in the 57 date X Factor Tour,[6] singing in front of thousands of fans everyday and showing the Nation his talent, causing many reviews hailing him as the "real winner" of the sixth series of X Factor. This sell-out tour allowed Danyl to showcase his dancing skills, and gave him the opportunity to prove his talents on the piano for the first time, whilst singing popular songs from the show "With a Little Help From My Friends", "Man In The Mirror", "Purple Rain", and participating in the charity single, You Are Not Alone,[7] along with popular group songs from the series.

Solo career Since completing the X Factor, Johnson has been working on his debut album along with his Empty Spaces band mate Nick Burrage, as well as many impressive songwriters, including Diane Warren and Steve Robson. Johnson has previously expressed his ambition to write a "really good album", with an expected release date of April 2011, following a single out in March.[8] Much anticipation for the album has been created amongst fans after Johnson's original song "Beautiful Life" was widely heard after his time on the X Factor, and has proven to be extremely popular, gaining hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube, and has also proven to be very popular at Johnson's many gigs up and down the UK.

TV appearances After his well-received audition, Johnson immediately attracted a lot of attention around the world, particularly in America, where he was subsequently asked for an interview for the Today Show.[9] This resulted in an invitation to appear on one of America's most watched shows,The Oprah Winfrey Show due to the media attention and interest Johnson had generated over in the US. However X Factor producers and bosses prevented this appearance on the hit American show, as they felt it would be a disadvantage to the other contestants taking part in the competition.[10]

Recently, Johnson performed a cover of Plan B's 'She Said' on Live From Studio Five with fellow X Factor contestant and friend Jamie Archer, after being invited on the show on several occasions.[11]

It has been confirmed by producers of the hit television show Benidorm that Johnson will guest star in an episode of the next series, with the episode having been shot in November 2010, and is expected to air on ITV 1 in early 2011.[12]

"Twee Vaders" (meaning Two fathers) is a Dutch language song by Terence Uphoff. He sang it in 2005 on the Dutch chidren's program Kinderen voor Kinderen (meaning Children for children) when Terence was just 11 and is a pioneering song in support of gay parenting. The song also appears in the annual 2005 album released in the Netherlands entitled Kinderen voor Kinderen 26,[13] being track #9 of 13 songs in the 26th album in the program series.

The song is about a child adopted by gay partners (called Bas and Diederik in the lyrics) when the child was just one year old.[14] The lyrics convey the life of an adopted son by two men who the song lyrics say are "two fathers, two real fathers, who, if they have to, both can be my mother".[15] It is not clear if the singer Terence himself is the adopted child as in the song or not. "Twee vaders" became popular beyond the scope of the Dutch program and became well-known internationally with various translations of the Dutch song into English (as "Two Fathers"), in Spanish ("Dos Padres"), French ("Deux pères"), German and many others.

In popular culture

  • Didier performed the song with a choir of youth live at the 2007 gay EuroGames in Antwerp.[16]
  • Maxim Gijs performed the song on October 13, 2007 during the Kinderen voor Kinderen Song Festival
  • The American singer-songwriter and actor Jay Brannan performed the song in Dutch during his concert tour in the Netherlands.[17]

Marius Borg Høiby edit

Marius Borg Høiby (born on 13 January 1997) is the eldest son of Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway from Morten Borg,[18] a previous partner of hers. Marius was born out of wedlock as the coiuple weren't legally married. His biological father was a controversial figure and an alleged drug dealer who was convicted later on by the Norwegian courts.

Marius Borg Høiby was christened in Lund church in Kristiansand on 8 April 1997. His godparents were Mr Espen Høiby, Mr Per Høiby, Ms Kristin Høiby Bjørnøy, Ms Veronica Sønsteby Aamot, Mr Tom Viken and Mr Anders Borg.

Mette-Marit married the Crown Prince Haakon on 25 August 2001, whereas the bological father Morten Borg married Celine Maktabi in September 2004.

Acceptance in the royal family Marius Borg Høiby is now recognized as a stepson of Crown Prince Haakon and the elder half-brother of Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. He is considered a member of the Norwegian Royal Family. He attends primary school at Janslökka school in Asker. The school is situated just across the road from the Crown Pince family's new home at Skaugum. In English, he is addressed as Master according to the royal family website. As of yet, he has not been given a royal or any other title as he is not the Crown Prince's son.[19] He is an active boy who enjoys a wide variety of sports and outdoor recreational activities.

Initially, there was a big controversy when it was announced that Crown Prince Haakon was marrying a single mother coming from a common family and with a 4 year old son. But he insisted on marrying her. The Crown Prince has also been known to be very accepting of Marius who appears in many of the royal family photos as a regular member of the royal family. But there has been some controversy surrounding the conduct of the press around Marius; in a relatively unusual case of outspokenness, the Crown Princess asked the media to respect her elder son's privacy.

The Expansionist Party of the United States is an American political party organization co-founded by L. Craig Schoonmaker and Stanley H. Hauser on 19 February 1977. Stanley H. Hauser died in July 1996, at age 67. L. Craig Schoonmaker continues as present chairman of the party.

Also known as the Expansionist Party or XPUS or just XP for short, the party was established in New York City, New York, but is now located in Newark, New Jersey, United States. The Expansionist Party of the United States (XPUS) is not officially registered in the United States and is considered a fringe party.

It is a radical centrist / pragmatist / moral non-dogmatic party, with no marked leftist or rightist agenda. The party also urges a larger role in society for ethnic and sexual minorities. The party's membership does not extend beyond a few hundred members.

Platform

  • The Expansionist Party describes its platform as follows:

XP is a general-purpose political organization of the radical center dedicated to geographic enlargement of the United States, ultimately to culminate in world union under the Constitution

  • In further detail:

XP is radical centrist, which means that it goes to the root ("radix" in Latin) of problems and disregards where an idea comes from, be it the Left or the Right.

XP is radical pragmatist. If an idea works, we will back it. If it doesn't, we will condemn it. Good motives don't necessarily make for good policy. What matters is results, not dogma. But XP is deeply moral. Politics is not just the art of the possible but also the pursuit of the right and honorable. Power is for doing good.

  • XP advocates decolonization of all American territories and colonies as a first priority, by (a) granting statehood, (b) merging small colonies into larger new or existing states, or (c) granting independence to all American colonies.[20]
  • It has proposed that the Caribbean regions of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands join the Union as a state. XP calls on the US Congress to unilaterally terminate Puerto Rico's neither/nor "Commonwealth" status (neither full equality with the 50 States as a State of the Union nor equality among the nations of the world as an independent country). This will give the Puerto Ricans a clear opportunity to make their final choice for full independence or joining the Union as a state.
  • It advocates the eventual merger of Mexico into the United States. The 31 states and Federal District of Mexico would become 10 states of the United States.

Further areas of interest in the more distant future would include Europe, Latin America, Africa, Oceania, South Asia (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh), East Asia (Taiwan), and Russia, culminating in world union under the Constitution.

Activities

The bulk of the party's work is in educating the public by means of letters to the media, using the Internet, occasional radio and television appearances, speeches at colleges, etc., and in urging government officials to adopt XP policies.[21]

In 2000, L. Craig Schoonmaker, the leader of the party, declared his candidacy for the US presidential elections. Because the party was not officially registered, Schoonmaker filed for his presidential run as an Independent.

L. Craig Schoonmaker

Lee Craig Schoonmaker (with Lee usually shortened to L.) (born December 20, 1944) is a gay intellectual, blogger, activist for gay rights and language reformist and a staunch supporter of Newark. He was also an independent presidential candidate in the 2000 elections in the States.

On 1 April 1969, he founded Homosexuals Intransigent! (also known by its acronym HI!) alongside Walter Phillips as a student organization at the City College of the City University of New York, three full months before the Stonewall Riots that gave rise to the Gay Liberation Movement. Schoonmaker also wrote a regular column for Gay Power newspaper as President of HI!. Schoonmaker and Walter Phillips later on published the exclusively male homosexual publicaton Homosexuals Intransigent! starting 1969 until 1992 with 5 issues publication. The publication folded upon Philips' death, but continued without regular dates online on the website http://www.mrgaypride.org . He also published "Homosexual Rennaisnace (HR) with 2 issues including essays and literary materials.

Schoonmaker also wanted to promote an independent male homosexual movement and creating gay male organizations. In HI! he wrote "An Analysis: Heterosexuality in the Male". In 1978, New York City newsmagazine, Gaysweek published his artcle "Male Separatism", and in 1980 he published a pamphlet entitled "Time for a 'Lesbian and Gay' Divorce", in question-and-answer form. In 1998 he wrote "Gay Homophobia" and in 1981 "Gay Paranoia", a discussion of the excessive hostility some GLBT militants against gay men and in 1983 "A Test for Gay Men", 25 questions designed to explore internalized antihomosexual self-hatreds, with answers and commentary.

In 1970 he also reportedly initiated the notion of "gay pride" by proposing to the Christopher Street Liberation Day Umbrella Committee (CSLDUC) that was planning on an annual march New York City's Greenwich Village, on the last weekend of June of each year, on the anniversary celebrations of the Stonewall Riots of 1969 to call it "Gay Pride Weekend" rather than the proposed Christopher Street Liberation Day Weekend, or Gay Power Weekend.

In 1973, he joined the high-IQ society Mensa and tried to form a Special Interest Group (SIG) for gay men. Despite initial opposition, he prevailed, and Homosexuals In Mensa (HIM) arose. After a couple of years, however, he left Mensa greatly dosenchanted to form his own movement Homosexuals of High IQ (H2IQ) which functioned for a few years and had its mimeographed newsletter before folding.

In 1977 Schoonmaker co-founded with Stanley H. Hauser Expansionist Party of the United States. He is the party's chairman. In 2000, L. Craig Schoonmaker was The Expansionist Party's self-declared presidential candidate. Because the Expansionist Party was not officially registered as a political party anywhere within the United States, Schoonmaker's filed for his presidential run as an Independent. He didn't run in 2004 elections despite preparing his election manifesto.

L. Craig is also a big fan of Newark, about which he publishes materials in his online site ResurgentCity Newark USA.

His well-read blog is called Antipost http://antipost.blogspot.com/ as he is in disagreement with New York Post that ignored most of his Letters to the Editor prompting him to publish them in his blog.

His photos of Lebanese politician and government minister Pierre Amine Gemayel taken in Montreal were used by international news agencies when reporting on Gemayel's obituary after his assassination in Lebanon. Sioufi also made a famous series of photoshoots of Montreal sculptor and artist Armand Vaillancourt writing an article about him in 31 January 2008 issue of Phoenicia newspaper.[45]

Sioufi exposed at "Passions & Teintes" event through his art work "Orange Woman" alongside other Montreal artists including Armand Vaillancourt, Zilon, Yvon Goulet, Katia Coric and more. Between April 14 and 25, 2010, he took part in a group exhibition organized by Levant: Regroupement des Artistes, Peintres et Sculpteurs in Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec.[46][47] exhibiting two of his works: "The One & Only Fayrouz" and "Sisters".

Joe Sioufi's collaboration with the Bad Boy Club Montréal (BBCM) and the Montreal nightlife led him to meet one of the most famous drag queens in Quebec, Mado Lamotte and he did a series of Montreal drag queens exclusive photoshoots[48] including Mado Lamotte.[49] Joe photographed Canada's beauty queens in 2008 and political events. He also was a performer/dancer at the Black and Blue Festival main events in 2002 and 2004 and he had been organizing parties with Robert Vézina BBCM events. He is also involved in charity work, most notably with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Influences

Joe Sioufi's sources of inspirations are based on the mythology, beauty, romance, eroticism and the ambiguity with a mix of sensuality and compassion in his style.[50] His art works are a celebration of Love, Life and Humanity, presenting the contrast between light and dark, joy and sorrow, freedom and slavery; so they are made in a way to make us ask questions, provoke thoughts and takes us on an emotional journey. He claims provocation is his business and education too. His major positive influences came from the famous singer Madonna Ciccone,[51] artists Claude Monet and Tamara De Lempicka, the architects Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright, Lebanese diva Fairuz whose angelic voice was engraved in Joe's head and soul and the Catholic nuns that ran the school he used to go to as a child, École des Soeurs de Saint-Coeur (Achrafieh, Beirut).

Sinners To Saints is an American metalcore band from the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. The band is currently signed to Red Cord Records. They released a digital EP titled 'The Experiment EP' in late 2011, and will release their debut full length titled 'The Greatest of These' in 2012.

History Band Formation The band was formed in 2009 by Guitarist Jon Hendershot and drummer James Mowrer. In 2011, before recording their EP, "The Experiment EP", they added vocalist Andrew East, bassist Chris Maurer (former member of the band), and Guitarist Kyle East.[69] The band is full of college students representing Penn State University, Liberty University, Full Sail University, and Moravian College. [69] They are currently signed to Red Cord Records.

In March of 2012, only a short time after the release of "The Experiment EP", the band signed to Illinois based record label, Red Cord Records[70] [71] where the band is said to be "bringing a new twist to the music scene with technical, complicated parts mixed with catchy, driving melodies."[72] This transition for the band caused Chris Maurer to step down from his role as bassist, allowing him to attend to his culinary studies at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. A short time after, bassist Jake Bastian stepped up to fill the position.

The Experiment EP

Jon Hendershot and James Mowrer spent two years planning for, writing, and recording ‘The Experiment EP’, released in August, 2011.[72][69]After writing the four song EP and finding three more members to complete the band, the group entered their friend's basement studio to record their first EP. 'The Experiment EP' contains four songs:

The Greatest of These In early 2012, Sinners To Saints announced via their facebook page that their debut full length album would be titled 'The Greatest of These'.[73] The band expressed that the title comes from 1 Corinthians 13, a chapter in the Bible that serves as a conceptual basis for many of their lyrics. They will be recording the album in August of 2012 in Rockford, IL.[74] [75] The album is expected to release in 2012 on Red Cord Records.

Hoodtrosexual edit

Hoodtrosexual is a term derived from hood and metrosexuality, used to describe someone from the "hood" that lives what many would call a metrosexual lifestyle. Hood is slang for Neighborhood or ghetto. Metrosexual is a neologism derived from metropolitan and heterosexual coined in 1994 describing a man (especially one living in an urban, post-industrial, capitalist culture) who spends a lot of time and money on shopping for his appearance. Debate surrounds the term's use as a theoretical signifier of sex deconstruction and its associations with consumerism. Origin The term originated in a quote by Terri Thomas, age 29 of Chicago, Il, August 2010. Used in a sentence: "I'm hoodtrosexual". For someone that doesn't use many labels, this one is something that many may relate to, in this day and age.

With the leadership of Najib Fayad, the "Gamma" was transformed into a real "think-tank" including specialists, academics & intellectuals (such as Georges Freiha - former coordinator of the popular committees and chief of staff of Bachir Gemayel presidential campaign-, Joseph Maila, Selim Jahel, Selim Catafago, Ibrahim Sahyoun & Najib Amiouni) to plan the building of a modern and strong state in all of its sectors. It was like a "shadow government" composed of eighteen branches equivalent to eighteen ministries. This group is behind the launching of the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation over the airwaves of Lebanon in 1985 and the creation of Sawt Lebnen el Horr (Radio Liban Libre) in 1978. Selim Abou wrote a synthesis of the main lines of the project in his book "Béchir Gemayel ou l'Esprit d'un peuple" (p.p. 349-360).

Clear the Stage edit

"Werldwayd/Further Development 1"
Song

"Clear the Stage" is a contemporary Christian music song written and performed by singer-songwriter Ross King[81] on his album And All the Decorations, Too that was released on April 1, 2002. The main message conveyed in the song is that we need to clear the stage for God, who truly deserves it:

Cause you can sing all you want to
But still get it wrong
Worship is more than a song
We must not worship something
that's not even worth it

Clear the stage and make some space
for the one who deserves it

It also addresses what are idols in our lives that we must cast away for true belief

Anything I put before my God is an idol
Anything I want with all my heart is an idol
Anything I can't stop thinking of is an idol

Anything that I give all my love is an idol

Covers The song has become a great success and subject of many covers by other artists.

Very notably, Christian spiritual singer Jimmy Needham picked the song as the final song of his fourth studio album also entitled Clear the Stage released on March 27, 2012.[82]
