Pureora Forest Park
editHappy New Year! You may be interested in expanding Pureora Forest Park. --Rosiestep (talk) 01:29, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

- I nom'ed Pureora Forest Park, proving we can do a 5x expansion in 1 day in main space! As that particular tree is outside of the forest per the gov ref, I went with a different hook that is ref'ed by a respected journal. The gallery at 8 img appears bloated and the captions lengthy. What about interspersing some of the img in the article or narrowing the gallery down in some other way? --Rosiestep (talk) 21:56, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure any of the img were taken in the park. I assumed you added them to the article and checked that. My bad. I'm all for doing a double or triple NZ park set; you know I'm an NZ fan. If I'm looking over the wine selection at a store, and there's something interesting from NZ, I'll choose it over anything else. That said by a Calif girl. --Rosiestep (talk) 22:05, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've had a look at your talk pages to see whether you've been on holiday together in NZ, but that wouldn't appear to be the case. Good work expanding all those NZ articles. If you ever want a hand, WT:NZ is the place to go. It won't take long before some local will come and help.
- Can I suggest, though, that you use British English when editing within the domain on New Zealand? Maybe you could even throw in the {{Use British English}} template when you start on a new one. Schwede66 20:34, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Template:Lahe Township has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. --Mepolypse (talk) 13:42, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm about to vote Keep on the navbox (since it's more useful now than when I nominated it). I was wondering if you would object to moving our sub-conversation about the notability of the place articles to WP:N/N. I'm considering moving everything from your comment starting with "See Template:Homalin Township." to my comment just before the Keep vote by Bsherr there. Would that be alright with you? (I tried finding any similar discussions in the archives of WP:N/N but found nothing.) --Mepolypse (talk) 20:09, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Sure, a much better place to discuss it. Actually the notability:geography thing was recently made a guideline but it was reverted back to an essay. I don't necessrily agree with the "inherently notable" naming of anything but experience has told me that virtually any verifiable geographical location is usually encyclopedic worthy and especially now with google books getting more resourceful all the time we can now make some headway and at least create some articles on settlements in the developing world which are beyond the horrid old "xxx is a village" type stubs.. I demonstrated this recently with my articles like Sausapor, Saukorem and Batuan, Bali which were proposed for deletion as "non notable useless stubs".
Interestingly i had this conversation with Jack Merridew and DGG the other day. PLease see the tlak page of User:DGG. If you are proposing a disucssion I strongly suggest you contact DGG. It really should be written into the guidelines... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:16, 2 January 2011 (UTC) (This paragraph moved from User talk:Mepolypse.)
- Heh, I think I've been to Batuan, Bali many years ago, but it might have been another art village in Bali. Nice job with those articles. I'll move the conversation. --Mepolypse (talk) 20:37, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. OK. Yeah I've been there too I think, I certainly visisted lots of similar artisan villages in Bali. Lombok when I visited in the late 90s in parts was astoundingly "stone age". Some of the villages had their own cultures and customs. Ideally we'd have an article like Saukorem on every third-world settlement in the world, there is really no reason why similar content couldn't be written about several million other places. But you can be assured there are thousands of villages mentioned in google books which can be compiled to put together a half decent article. The internet is still in its infancy but I really do think these articles very important to the encyclopedia. The internet at the moment covers the majority of third world villages very poorly if not at all so scraps that can be found in google books are at least putting them onto the internet into a readily accessible platform like wikipedia. 12 million books scanned out of 130 million so far. Every year google books will continue to improve and turn up more and more sources which can be used to make many places worthy of starting. We must go wherever the info is and tackle those places first.
Most settlements in Burma are now visible, every building on google satellite maps/earth... when you zoom in. Now if some scraps of info in google books can be compiled and they are clearly visible as populated settlements on a google map that is at least a start... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:45, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- I've copied the conversation there, and added another comment there. I've not notified the editors you mentioned previously because I fear that would be considered WP:CANVASSING. Do you know of an appropriate forum we could post a notice about that discussion instead? --Mepolypse (talk) 22:49, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Canvassing? Aren't you against the notion of "inherent notability". Why would it be canvassing for you to notify DGG or somebody up on geographical notability? Its just I've had this conversation literally 10,000 times previously! It really ought to be written into the guidelines that articles on villages like Sado, Amarapura and Gwebin are accepted on wikipedia and at least in my view are valuable for wikipedia as a resource even if stubs. 99% of geographical articles which are verifiable always end up being kept at AFD!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:53, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- I skimmed some of the conversations between you and one of the other editors after you mentioned that conversation, and noted that that editor was a strong inclusionist, so notifying only such editors seems inappropriate per WP:CANVAS#Appropriate notification. It's possible that that was over-cautious of me. --Mepolypse (talk) 23:09, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
I honestly think its a waste of time. I've tried to convince scores of editors in the past on here that villages like Gwebin are notable and that the vast majority of geographic locations are most certainly worth writing about but there will always be people who disagree and agree. I could spend time on another discussion but who is to say that another two months down the line another editor without my experience will come along and try to hamper progress and claim places to not be notable? The evidence that verifiable geographic locales on here are always snowball kept 99% of the time is resounding evidence for me that places generally are accepted as "inherently notable" on here, even if I hate that term and would rather articles are properly researched. Now if you are intending to form a final consensus on writing up guidelines to geographic locations as in the essay, maybe with some terms that they nmust be researched I'd fully suport you, if it means that it will be promoted from an essay to a proper guideline and to be used to fend of possible deletions in the future. Maybe i'll look into it tomorrow..♦ Dr. Blofeld 23:17, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- How about for example Gwegyi (24°45"N 95°'3"E) though? With your experience from AfDs of these types of articles, would that result in a keep in its current state? As for forming a consensus and codifying it in a guideline, I agree that that would be great. --Mepolypse (talk) 23:38, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Its verifiable and is officially a populated settlement which is visible on google maps so the likelihood is that it would be kept. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:37, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

Clint Eastwood
editI finally did a quick trim preview of the article in my sandbox. A lot of the details about the films or other people can be covered in the respective articles. I suggest removing some of the details about reviews and box office, as we probably shouldn't cover it for every film to give some variety while reducing length. I was probably strict on some areas, but I think it's going to take a drastic change to prevent issues with GAN/FAC. Information can always be readded if necessary, but hopefully we can bring the article down to a manageable level while still adequately covering the majority of his work and life. Let me know what you think so we can start moving this along further. By the way, good job on finding so much details from the book sources. The majority of the details I suggest cutting are still interesting and would help improve the film articles and subarticles. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 07:30, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- I like the details as well, but they would be better off included in the film articles. With the subarticles, all details could be included (allowing the interested readers to get the more details while the casual reader could stick with the main page), but the main focus is getting his article down to a manageable level that would be accessible for GA/FA. Feel free to weigh in on the GA review so we can see how much of this should actually get trimmed to start. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 02:03, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

- It would be great if we had actor articles as detailed with this one (with a large number of available sources to choose from as well!). After Eastwood's article is completed, at some point this year, I'm going to work on getting Tom Hanks up to at least GA. I've realized that he's one the other staples in my DVD collection and favorite films. Once the Eastwood article reaches GA, I think it could go on to FA pretty soon. We'll definitely need to have a few people come in and do some copyedits to avoid prose issues. It's definitely come a long way since before you significantly expanded it. --Happy editing! John Wayne's article at least a start to it, but it definitely should be expanded further. I'd recommend going with the subpages first, and then pulling the best information into the article (so you don't have opposition to a very large article that would eventually have to be trimmed). I'd welcome assistance with Hanks' article, but I probably won't start work on that until March-April. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 00:31, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- The length looks good. I'll probably add a brief paragraph for the awards, filmography, and discography sections later on. It's amazing how much it came down in size. Looking forward to a review now. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 03:29, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

I don't think any of my books would cover the accountant (we never covered the film industry and its relation to accounting, although it would be interesting since they probably use the most creative accounting and accounting magic). I'll add the subpages and help link them to the film articles this weekend. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 06:37, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm glad you started the articles (I'm not to big on starting them, and I think you have just a bit more experience than me...). It's amazing the amount of detail that could be covered from the books, and this is just for one subject. If only each article on Wikipedia had just a fraction of the available source material available, this would be quite the impressive place. It looks like we have only a few red links left in the article. I'll work on the article tomorrow and Sunday. I rented The Eastwood Factor so I'll add a few details from that to add some video sources. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 01:54, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'll help out after I finish transferring the film details from the 1970s films subarticle to the film articles. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 21:37, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Since you write on Hindi film actresses also I am sure you will like it. Expanded prose in User:Nvvchar/Saint Barthélemy is already more than 5x without infoboxes, imgs and tables. I have also added to Sampit which is also now 5x. I will continue tomorrow morning.--Nvvchar. 16:47, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi Blofeld - hope you had a good Christmas/NY, etc. For the above article, I was wondering if you had one of your maps to add to it. Looks like some good sources have been added as bare URLs by the creator of this quite interesting article. Thanks! Lugnuts (talk) 10:16, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Terra Chã
editOlá Mr.B. I have done all that I could do on providing citations for the Terra Chã article, with my meagre resources. I would probably need to travel to the island to get anything else (obviously I don't have the resources to do that at this time). (Ironically, I passed through Terceira last Sunday, but there was little I could do during the 15 minute layover, to improve the quality of the article). I don't know if that is acceptable in order to publish this revision to the Terra Chã article. Regardless, I feel that it is more valid then both the original or Portuguese Wikipedia versions. Appreciate working with you on this subject. It has helped me to improve my editing/publishing skills, which I am using to expand other articles in the Azores name-space (specifically) and other articles in the Portuguese name-space. Thanks. Ruben JC (Zeorymer) (talk) 13:50, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Natalija Daškova has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This has no sources, virtually no content, and the corresponding Lithuanian article has no sources either. There is also virtually no information available anywhere online.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Interchange88 ☢ 14:15, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
This must be a joke...
editHow can an article about Clint Eastwood, whose career has spanned over 5 decades be less than 80 KB long? Article length limitations must not at any cost come at the expense of its comprehensiveness. Quite a joke, considering the reviewers themselves are very aware of Eastwood's work and achievements. What are you gonna do now? Shahid • Talk2me 17:54, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:HéctorAnglada.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:HéctorAnglada.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 02:38, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Government of Leone II
editA tag has been placed on Government of Leone II, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your reasoning on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 12:00, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Sampit
editOn 13 January 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sampit, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that according to a BBC report, the ethnic conflict in Sampit town in Indonesia caused 500 deaths, with over 100,000 Madurese displaced from their homes? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:My Fair Lady 64.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:My Fair Lady 64.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 12:26, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

It really is a good article. I think I've only made a couple of changes so far. There's a sentence that ends with a preposition ("for") that caught my attention, but I left it alone; I want to see how the GA review folks treat it. Looked like we needed something on the creek, although there's something poetic about a creek with no article and a man with no name. --Rosiestep (talk) 21:12, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

I often start a review something to the effect of you are stuck with me. I am fussy at WP:GA. Few things I suggest get undone at WP:FA. Yes I could just pass the article as it is. However it is a WP:BLP and I find no reason not to do my best to guide it up the quality path, while I have a captive audience. If you find any of my suggestions deleterious to the article let me know. If you find any of my suggestions offensive to the subject of the BLP let me know. See User:TonyTheTiger/Reviews at the bottom and determine if I am being any fussier with you than with most others. I don't do a lot of GA reviews, but the ones I do take time. Óbidos, Portugal
editI will be happy to add information to an Óbidos article revision, although elaborating the municipality's name-space is more valid than the city name-space. By elaborating this type of article, most readers will get the mistaken impression that the city of Óbidos is a legal entity. As I have promoted in our past discussions, elaborations of municipal and parish articles will help eliminate any misconception on the administrative divisions of Portugal. Regardless, I can create a infobox and elaborate citations. You will pardon me if it is not completed immediately, I will be teaching courses in ArcGIS for the next week-and-a-half, although I may be able to sneak it in before I leave.Ruben JC (Zeorymer) (talk) 22:02, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Benin places
editHello. I noticed that you created Template:Commune of Banikoara. None of the links were working, so I created all the articles. I noticed that Benin has another level after commune, namely arrondissement. All the places in the Banikoara template are in both the Banikoara commune and the Banikoara arrondissement, but there are more places in the commune, but in a different arrondissement. At least, this is as far as I can tell from looking at sources on government websites. Frietjes (talk) 16:20, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Should I divide Template:Commune of Banikoara into sections by arrondissement? Frietjes (talk) 16:28, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Another idea would be to move Template:Commune of Banikoara to Template:Arrondissement of Banikoara, and then have Template:Commune of Banikoara list the arrondissements. With 10 arrondissements in the Banikoara commune, having 10 sections would be long. Frietjes (talk) 16:39, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- The only change you made to Arbonga was to use the "cite web" template? Okay. Doesn't seem to be the most pressing issue, but sure. Frietjes (talk) 17:25, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- Nearly finished? I used some sed/vi/pdftotext magic, so it probably needs some checking. The semi-unfiltered output is here. The source doesn't have the accents, and there are some repeats. Signing off in a few. Frietjes (talk) 23:08, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
- I just realized that the pdf source clips the names after some fixed number of characters, and doesn't include the accents. I am going to fix it using the GeoHive data, which doesn't have this problem. Frietjes (talk) 16:32, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- There are still some inconsistencies between the sources, I noted some in comments in the text. I guess the way to fix that is just to have some redirects. Otherwise, I guess it's finished now. Frietjes (talk) 18:55, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- For names appearing twice, I did this. The idea was if they are in different departments, then add the department name. If they are in the same department, but different arrondissements, then add the arrondissement name. Go ahead and change it if you like a different way. The places are Banigbé, Djègbè, Lèma, Ouénou, Sè, and Zoukou, which will need some hatnotes when they are made. I will update the templates too, if they are there. Frietjes (talk) 20:11, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Maps, see around page 312 of [1]. The map for Allada shows Lon-Agonmey in Allada, but Google maps calls it Long-Agomey, and other sources say it is in Toffo. I think the other sources are probably wrong. Anyway, these maps are helpful since they have places not found in other online sources. No coordinates, but you can get close by looking at the map. - The only change you made to Arbonga was to use the "cite web" template? Okay. Doesn't seem to be the most pressing issue, but sure. Frietjes (talk) 17:25, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

DYK issue with Hallsteinn Sigurðsson
editHello! Your submission of Hallsteinn Sigurðsson at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know!
Hi! I've had a look at Hallsteinn Sigurðsson for DYK. I'd really like for the article to be accepted (and you've done wonderful work transforming this previously unloved, unreferenced BLP), but there are a couple of little nags that caught my eye:
- Some of the prose is still quite close to sources. Mostly I don't think it's a problem, but there was one particular phrase that I thought should probably either be directly attributed, or else paraphrased.
- I'm slightly uneasy about the copyright status of the pictures. It seems clear that the photographer's copyright is fine; but are they also touched by the sculptor's copyright in the underlying sculpture, as derivative works? I didn't know enough about Icelandic copyright law / Icelandic freedom of panorama to be 100% comfortable; but we can't link off the main page to any page which might have a rights problem.
- Assuming we can clear the photos, in my view the link would be far far stronger if we could include a thumbnail of one of the sculptures on the main page.
Sorry to bring these fleabites to you, but I really hope we can clear them and give this page the thumbs up. Jheald (talk) 16:18, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

editThat's quite a long review considering it's a GAN, but I do understand why people expect to have the best possible article on Eastwood. I hope this review helps, because making an FA for someone as famous as Eastwood is not an easy task. Shahid • Talk2me 20:28, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Men of War94.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Men of War94.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. DYK for Paolo Padovani

You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Interesting info...
editHi Blofeld! There is a interesting fact in a new article which I have created: The church's main treasure, famous icon of Mary Odighitria, which was one of the protective icons of Constantinople and attributed to St Luke, survived the fire in 1731 which burned down the earlier church. That is, if you are still into 'Did you know?' thing...Regards, Kebeta (talk) 23:05, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

editYou may be interested in expanding raiyat; there are many refs in addition to the ones that I barely mined. It would make for a double with zerat. --Rosiestep (talk) 21:14, 22 January 2011 (UTC) Raiyat and Zerat should be one article. I have added some text to Zerat article. I have also completed this User:Nvvchar/Luoyang Museum to which you may like to add more. Uige and Chinit River are also ready for posting.--Nvvchar. 09:33, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- The pdf document referred under Bibliography gives coordinates of Chinit River information in the beginning itself in a table.--Nvvchar. 12:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- The river joins Tonle Sap Lake on the downstream and forms the Tonle Sap River thereafter. I could not locate a map either except that of the Lake.--Nvvchar. 12:11, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- The same pdf reference on page 25 gives the longitudinal profile of Stung Chinit and its tributary also. The length is correct and the reference is reliable.--Nvvchar. 12:25, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- Very nice.--Nvvchar. 12:50, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think so. They are two separate rivers. The ADB references and bibliography pdf can not be wrong. The best way out is probably to delete reference to Stung Sen River. I have no other documents or maps to further supplement.--Nvvchar. 13:26, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Don't know if you saw my comment on your DYK nom, which I spotted by accident. This is a great article, If I say so myself as did not write it. It is a translation of the featured article de:Johann Heinrich Zedler. Maybe I should have stayed quiet. On the other hand, it did take some work and (I hope) is not too inaccurate, and is new to .en Wikipedia, and is (I think) interesting, and there is a lot of value in translations ... Aymatth2 (talk) 00:45, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- I think it is enough to put a link to the source in the edit summary. The link in the talk page is redundant, but polite. There just has to be some attribution somewhere. As for whether it belongs in DYK, that depends on whether DYK is treated from an inward-looking view as a reward to the editor, or an outward-looking view as interesting to readers. We lean towards the inward view. Some of the articles that make it through are technically fine, but the hook and the article may not be very interesting to the general reader. But it would be impossible to define a simple method of deciding if an article is "interesting enough". Not important. Aymatth2 (talk) 14:04, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors
editHi! Since you've been identified as an Awesome Wikipedian, I wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If that sounds like you and you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors during the current term, which started in January and goes through early May. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 21:41, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

editI really was surprised the author agreed to change the license since it's such a great pose. I've been searching for a quality image of her for a long time after I read this New York Times article bashing the lack of images on Wikipedia. I've now found images for three people listed in that article that had poor ones or were lacking an image altogether. I'm currently working on securing a few more images for the Eastwood article (to help replace the non-free ones we removed), and am awaiting a reply from an archive collection from Florida. Hopefully I hear back this week. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talk • contrib) 03:52, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry for not helping out that much the last week. I've checked out a few more biographies from the local libraries and am scouring those for additional sources. I plan to also use some to replace a few of the McGilligan ones to help round out the citations and ensure we're not relying so heavily on one source. In the coming weeks, we'll definitely need to have multiple editors give it a copyedit once it's stabilized for a while. I know that I need to go through the citations as some still have inconsistent formatting or are lacking parameters. I'm guessing this could move on to FAC in a month or so depending on the sourcing additions and whoever we can get to review. --Happy editing! Hi Dr. Blofeld, just a courtesy notice to let you know that I've reviewed 1907 Tiflis bank robbery for Good Article status. At present, I do not believe that this article meets the Good Article criteria. I am putting this article on hold for seven days, after which this article will be failed if my concerns have not been responded to. Editors have until February 3, 2011 to fix all of the issues I have raised. If the article has not been fixed by then, the article will be failed, and editors will need to submit the article through the Good Article nomination process again once they feel that the article is ready. Wassup Blofeld? I was thinking wats your opinion on steam rolling the above baby for GA? — Legolas (talk2me) 19:30, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Lol. 70+ freakin GAs!!! I can probably even make Madonna's biceps pass as GA. :D — Legolas (talk2me) 12:00, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
- Ha ha. Ya, Madonna's biceps do scare me and I'm a thin guy if you look at my user page. Well, I got quite a lot of info on Ranveer from the StarDust and FilmFare magazines. I will start work soon, hope you mentor the changes, because I have never worked on any Indian actor, except for helping BOLLYWOODDREAMZ with KAreena Kapoor. And yes, your music taste is impeccable. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:33, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Clawdd Coch
editSaw your note; that's fine, no worries. I added content on Clawdd Coch, but then removed it as I believe what I found was referring to a same name place but in eastern Wales. --Rosiestep (talk) 06:29, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Skye cats
editPlease see various notes. As you can now see, Category:Villages in Skye has the main Skye settlements in it, so that they feed into the Category:Villages in the Inner Hebrides etc. as well as Category:Populated places in Skye and Lochalsh. Lochalsh villages should not be in the island cats, which is why there needs to be a distinction. Ben MacDui 16:33, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
