Requested move edit

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Emma Marrone not moved; no clear consensus to move; Emma (singer) moved as proposed. bd2412 T 14:11, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

– she is best known to world as simply Emma. Same short performer's name like, for instance, Chiara (singer) or Annalisa. As long as there's already one Emma (singer), it should be renamed to Emma (welsh singer) while this one moves to the title i requested. Rebelheartous (talk) 15:15, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Comments: This appears to be a malformed multimove request, since it is also requesting a move of Emma (singer), and I believe "Italian" is ordinarily capitalized. —BarrelProof (talk) 15:56, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Comments: Fixed template In ictu oculi (talk) 16:11, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Weak support moving Emma (singer) to Emma (Welsh singer); neutral on moving Emma Marrone. The Welsh singer is not the primary topic and should not have the shorter disambiguation. In both cases, though, using the singer's last name would avoid the use of artificial disambiguators entirely. 168.12.253.66 (talk) 16:46, 12 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support moving Emma (singer) to Emma (Welsh singer) No opinion moving Emma Marrone -- 76.65.131.217 (talk) 00:49, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment Emmanuela Marrone and Emma (Italian singer) should redirect here (if not selected as the name of the article) -- 76.65.131.217 (talk) 00:50, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - the Italian singer's albums are all just "Emma", the Welsh singer is mentioned without surname in Eurovision history. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:25, 13 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose abandoning "Marrone". It is fairly often used by Italian sources per WP:NCM. English sources don't use the mononymous name or the full name because she is not covered by such sources. Per WP:NCUE, if English sources are not found, let's stick to "Emma Marrone" per Italian sources. Unsure why the Welsh singer should not be called Emma Booth (singer) besides recent sources(?), but I couldn't find sources that cover the Welsh singer either. George Ho (talk) 05:44, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment (sorry for my english) in italian she also know like Emma and are cd's, single, are categoryzed by FIMI (comes in and select "--" for year and week and write emma and and click on start search), itunes like Emma (https://itunes.apple.com/it/artist/emma/id14641847 [side is only specified "legal name", like Emmanuela Marrone]) and in the official Swiss only given as emma is in the link in the text: http://swisscharts.com/showinterpret.asp?interpret=Emma+[IT] . Her name is not Emma and Emma Marrone are incorrect beacause her name is Emmanuela. There's an example with she is categoryzed like Emma Marrone in the link, but not in the site. In http://www.italiancharts.com/showinterpret.asp?interpret=Emma+Marrone the url are Emma+Marrone, but in the same page all album and sigles are like (Emma [IT]). In wikipedia italian there was the same problem at the beginning, now she is like Emma (cantante italiana) and Emma booth are like Emma (cantante britannica). There is a large category that contains both and other things related to just the name Emma, called only Emma (disambigua) and and contains for example the book Emma by Jane Austen and the films.--Clizia1984 (talk) 21:06, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Many entertainers take on their first names as a professional mononym. But the more "generic" the name, the stronger the disambiguator needs to be. In this case, why go for a label instead of her proper name? We can still use a redirect from the Italian singer namespace. I think that will be cleaner and neater. -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 03:48, 19 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

About move edit

The guys who voted against it clearly don't know or have heard of the singer. For instance, make a comparison between Emma and Annalisa. Do you see a difference in performer's names? And here is an English source from this year's MTV EMA where she is nominated as Emma. What bigger proof do you need?--Rebelheartous (talk) 10:40, 25 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree with you. I would suggest either moving the page Emma Marrone to Emma (Italian singer) and moving the page Emma (singer) to Emma (Welsh singer). According to me, it would be useful to create a disambiguation generic name Emma and there putting everything known by the name Emma, as singers, movie titles, song titles or album art or literary works such as the book by Jane Austen. Sorry for my English. Thank you.--Clizia1984 (talk) 13:07, 25 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

English grammar edit

There is a serious problem about the English grammar in this article and I tried to solve some of it, but I'm not a native English speaker.
