How very nice! Very thoughtful Barnstar. I very much appreciate this gesture. By the way I am ading a small text on Geology of the Pagarh Hills>. Please see and let me know if it is OK. Thanks once again.--Nvvchar. 04:00, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Can you kindly check if Koutubia mosqe is 5x expansion? Somehow, I have forgotten the procedure to do it. Also, three of Chamapaner mosques are reported are short of 1600 ch. Pl see DYK review. Oops sorry, i removed the tag from Koutubia, last I looked it was unedited in 6 hours. Server trouble!♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:57, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

I have added text to the three mosques in Champaner to make them DYK worthy (1600ch or more). You may like to change the photo to the image of the temple since the reviewer has raised some observations on the Mosque picture. The DYK hook has nine articles. For a reference linking article may consider adding the Goud reference of UNESCO, which I have added at the end of the lead section in Nagina Masjid and Lila Masjid. --Nvvchar. 01:10, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Rosie can you translate the history of Marrakech from French wikipedia as a start, I can then work off of it. There is the original content at User:Dr. Blofeld/Marrakech. I intend to take this to GA level aside from DYK and it is of course one of Africa's most important/famous cities. Let's use sfn notes and bibliography books for this tyhough like Alcatraz as I suspect there'll be a massive number of books and some books with lots of info.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:43, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

DYK nomination of Koutoubia Mosque

Hello! Your submission of Koutoubia Mosque at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Soman (talk) 16:10, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

I have replied on the DYK page.User:Nvvchar

My signature is not registering on Internet explorer and I am unable to open Firefox. Please see the additions made to Khalid ibn Al-Walid Mosque and I have forgotten checking of number of chs in the text of the artcile. If it is 5x, kindly nominate. Also look at the start I have made to Door to Hell, Derweze. Dr. B's suggestion to increase the DYK time limit for posting posting articles on DYK to 10 days is good when many three or more editors are collabariting in writing articles..User:Nvvchar

Should we go ahead with the Door to Hell or close this stage without a DYK posting? Incidentally, I have replied to the DYK review queries on the Champaner UNESCO Heritage site and also Honiara. You must have seen it.--Nvvchar. 03:09, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
Please see Tony's latest review. Can you reply please as the the second Monuments article is not listed in any reference?--Nvvchar. 03:21, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Door to Hell meets dyk qualifications; please nom with photo of your choice. Actually, have not been keeping an eye on Champaner UNESCO Heritage site and Honiara dyk noms... will look at them later tonight... and Tony's last review. Thx --Rosiestep (talk) 03:27, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

In view of Tony's suggestion I wish to reply to his review as under. Please see if it is OK to avoid any further queries. I have now fixed the reference also at the end of the suggested text.--Nvvchar. 22:51, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

"Let me clarify. Ref 13 in the article Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park is also referenced now at ref 6 in Monuments of Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park at the end of the sentence proposed by you for the alternate hook. Unfortunately, the last page of the book opens when the reeference is clicked but the texts referred in the articles are on pages 91-93 and 96-97 of this book. Hence, the confusion. The text in the book on page 96 related to the text cited by you reads: "The historic structures fall under the purview of the Archeological Survey of India, which with limited funds, does the best it can to protect and preserve the 39 monuments under its wing (of the 114 identified by the Heritage Trust of Baroda.". Keeping your suggestion in view I am proposing an alternate hook as below for your acceptance.

  • Thanks. I have posted the above reply on the DYK talk page. By the way I will be going out for a week from tomorrow morning to visit my siblings in New York and Fort Lauderdale. I am not sure if I will be able to edit before Monday evening. --Nvvchar. 02:11, 12 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Tony has some more observations on the Bawmana Mosque and Pavgadha Hill. I don't think I will be able to attend to them before Monday. I will appreciate if you can kindly look at them and add the proper references in the lead sections. Thanks. --Nvvchar. 05:55, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

Cranmer Court

Hello Rosie, I've had a bit of a break from heritage buildings (it was getting too depressing), but have started picking up that topic. I've started something on Cranmer Court, have so far covered its early history, but nothing much on the recent happenings. You will find that there is significant media reporting at the moment. Feel free to chip in (or whoever else teams up with Rosie for DYKs and watches her page). Schwede66 03:51, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

I've nominated this at DYK, but have just realised that the hook is wrong (Christchurch City Libraries hasn't got the facts straight). I'm off on holiday for a few days. Could you possibly look after this? Schwede66 20:06, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Also, please suggest a hook for both Izena Island and Shinsarugakuki. Will post them after Dr. B also gives his edits tomorrow. --Nvvchar. 03:48, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Good job both! Count de Blofeld 07:34, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

I have completed my inputs the first four of the six articles, Paradisbakkerne, Almindingen, Dueodde, and Rytterknægten. You may like to add an article on the Dueodde lighthouse, which I will be writing shortly.--Nvvchar. 02:11, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Bornholm

Thanks for you interest in contributing to articles on Bornholm. I know the island well and have been a bit concerned recently about the confusion regarding the location of various features. You can see from this detailed map that Paradisbakkerne are in the eastern part of the island and that Almindingen is in the centre. The ruins of Gamleborg and Lilleborg are therefore in Almindingen, close to the road from Rønne to Svanneke, but are a long, long way from Paradisbakkerne which are about 3 km northwest of Nexø. This confusion seems to have originated from the English-language guide book used as a reference. I'll try to sort things out but at least you'll have a map to look at for future reference. Let me know if you have any further queries on this. I might be able to help. --Ipigott (talk) 07:15, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

Hammeren

I've been doing a bit of work on Hammeren and am having difficulty with the coordinates. I think the problem is that coordinates are also given for the lighthouse in the text. Maybe they should be removed? In any case, the coordinates in the box and at the top of the article were wrong. They are now correct but the location is no longer given on the location map. Perhaps you can fix things. Thanks for all the work you've put into these articles and thanks too for the Bornholm lunch. Bornholm's smokehouses are a favourite with tourists. --Ipigott (talk) 08:00, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

That meal was quite awesome Rosie!!! Yum, nice and full now! great job! If you want to do another multi set of temples and stuff I was thinking of a rewrite of Varanasi from scratch and cover its various temples. Not heard anything on Nvv on that yet. today though central Asian archaeology articles given the GLAM thing.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 08:17, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the delicious looking mouthwatering meal. But I have turned a total vegetarian after a vow at one of the famous temples of Varanasi.--Nvvchar. 13:21, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

I've finally sorted out the coords on Hammeren. I see you want to move on to Varanasi (where there's certainly enough to get your teeth into). I'll keep my eyes open but I was hoping to continue coverage of Bornholm too. I've just started Oluf Høst Museum and I was wondering whether it would be worthwhile writing articles on attractions such as Bornholm's Middle Ages Centre and Joboland, not forgetting the butterfly park in Nexø. There could also be a piece on the famous Bornholm grandfather clocks. There are also lots of windmills including Bakkemøllen, Bechs Mølle, Egeby Mølle, Gudhjem Mølle, Hasle Bymølle, Kuremøllen, Limensgade Mølle, Melsted Mølle, Myreagre Mølle, Pedersker Kirkemølle, Røbro Mølle, Saxebro Mølle, Stenby Mølle, Svanemøllen, Valsemøllen and, last but certainly not least, Årsdale Mølle. We could also extend coverage of natural features such as Borgedalssø, Døndale, Stavehøl Waterfall, Slotslyngen and many others which have been popular with tourists and hikers over the years. But maybe I'm suffering from Gibraltarmania. --Ipigott (talk) 18:36, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
Don't know why but apparently you sent me another reminder on Rutsker just now. I did a bit of work on it a couple of days ago and have not much more to add. By the way, I see you frequently refer to "Bornholm Island" in your articles. I think it is more correct simply to call it "Bornholm" or "the island of Bornholm". (Bornholm Island sounds a bit like Jersey Island or Jamaica Island.) The same is true of many of the other Danish islands. Thanks once again for all the work you've been doing to enhance coverage of the island. I've also been working on Vang, Bornholm and on the lighthouses -- Svaneke Lighthouse and Hammer Odde Lighthouse if there's anything you would like to add. --Ipigott (talk) 16:04, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

UNESCO Monumnet in Tamilnadu

I am preparing for these articles - expansion (E) or new (N) for DKK nomination- which could be of 14 articles Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram (E), Pancha Rathas (E), (Dharmaraja Ratha (N), Arjuna Ratha (N), Bhima Ratha (N), Draupadi Ratha (N) and Nakula Shadeva Ratha N), Cave Temples of Tamilnadu N (Varaha Cave Temple E, Krishna Cave Temple N, Mahishasura Mardhini Cave temple E, Pandava Cave Temple N, Thirunadhikkara Cave Temple E, all of the Pallava period), Descent of the Ganges (Mahabalipuram) (E), and Shore Temple (too long to further expand) in Mahabalipuram (too long to further expand) and Sittanavasal Cave E (this is a Jain period cave and not of Pallava Period. But the three of us have to work on on User pages so that the five day period does not hamper us. Let me know.--Nvvchar. 02:57, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

I have not been keeping too well today and I am yet to make real start on the above articles. However, I feel the article on Sittanvasal Cave should not be be clubbed as it is a cave belonging to Jain religion and I will be working on this tomorrow. I have now completed my inputs to Xu Xusheng so that you can post on DYK, the hook as suggested by you.Thanks.--Nvvchar. 05:30, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
  • The Tortuguero National Park is not DYK as it was already one when I started expanding it. It could be posted on GA. I am working on Sittanavasal Cave, which shoule be completed by late night. I will let you know to further work on it.--Nvvchar. 01:40, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Both DR.B and I have completed inputs toXu Xusheng. Please go ahead with the nomination. Do you accept the Wondermando as a good reference source since it has been widely used in many articles? I want to use this source also [2] in Sittanavasasal Cave article.--Nvvchar. 04:23, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

I also thought so and wanted your confirmation. I will not use it. am still struggling with Sittanavasal Cave. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon it should be over.--Nvvchar. 05:30, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
I have completed this article Sittanavasal Cave. You may like to add as it is very interesting and my second article related to Jain religion.--Nvvchar. 16:17, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Sittanavasal Cave is in the hill in the Sittanavasal village. Originally the artcile was in the name of the village but I changed it to Cave. There is no name for the hill. All the caves are in the hills. The paintings are all in the Sittansvasal Cave and the Jaina beds in another natural cave in the same hill. The tarn is also in another cave in the same hill. But the Megalithic finds on the plains are along the roads to the caves. --Nvvchar. 18:17, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Ezhadippattam are beds of Jaina ascetics (where they died of voluntary starvation, a practice common among very religious Jaina saints) made on the surface of a rocky layout approached from the natural cave.--Nvvchar. 18:28, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
I have completed my edits to William P. Didusch Center for Urologic History. You may like to nominate it. Thanks. --Nvvchar. 21:49, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
I was planning to write on this Thirunadhikkara Cave Temple but hardly any web references (except Wondermondo) and no book references. Please see if you can find some good refrences to expand this article.--Nvvchar. 14:50, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, Rosie, the internet stopped working and the page froze for a while. I will not edit for a few hours on this. I will move to t other articles on Indian themes as mentioned earlier.--Nvvchar. 17:53, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
I moved to this article Oluf Høst Museum. DR. B has also edited and you may like to add and post it on DYK, as today is the deadline date. We can work on the Oluf Høst article and the hook could be made into double article later.--Nvvchar. 22:28, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
I have completed Sittanavasal village article also. You may like to nominate this DYK hook for two articles. Hook proposed ...that theSittanavasal Cave or Arivar Kovil a Jain temple, of 7th century on slope of the hill in Sittanavasal village has the "celebrated Sittanavasal paintings" painted in fresco-secco technique?--Nvvchar. 17:25, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
I have already nominated Sittanavasal Cave on DYK as today is the last day. Please see the DYK hook of 25th Oct.,you can give an alternate one, if you feel like. I have also added some text from the cave article to the village article also. But I could not get any info on the village itself, its area, population etc. Also, please see Oluf Høst. It needs more text for DYK. Are you working on the Marrakech seven articles suggested by Dr. B.? I have completed two and now working on David Prescott Barrows.--Nvvchar. 03:26, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
You may like to include the village article as part of the present hook or make a new nomination. In case of a new nomination you could consider adding the image of the Jain beds.--Nvvchar. 03:56, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Rosiestep, I think you need to submit a QPQ review for your addition of Jovita Feitosa as a second article in the above nomination, making it a double hook. Thank you very much, and I'm sorry to have to bother you with it. I've also asked igordebraga to clarify his review: he just mentions ALT2, and not that both articles have actually been reviewed. From what I could see with a quick scan, both articles look fine, but igor's the one who should have done the deeper checks, and I'd like confirmation that he did a complete review. Rosie, I've split into History of Marrakesh and restored the former, although I've written some modern history. The article was too huge and would take ages to save even on my up to date Acer! Can you try to salvage some important missing historical info from the main article to rebuild it and perhaps sub section it, but keep it concise and using sfn notes (Walsriad didn't use them which made the referencing inconsistent), you're good at that. I've also created Landmarks of Marrakesh, which could be added to and another DYK, but like you I think I'd rather create articles on each of the missing buildings and topics. I'm going to have a blue link fest later. First I'll create Template:Marrakesh and cram it full with topics. I'll leave landmarks for now so the article is still a 5 times expansion but once I'm done with the cutting and making more comprehensive the article should be quite a bit shorter and condensed in preparation for GA. I've finally given in to Marrakesh spelling anyway, so the spelling in a lot of places will need changing, still have a feeling it should be Marrakech though and more of an official name, but I'm not going to have the history article as "Marrakesh" and everything different!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 13:21, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

@Dr. Blofeld and all the others working on the article: I would go back to the spelling "Marrakech". Many of the most reputable modern English-language sources use this spelling, for example the Financial Times just a few days ago with this article (which might be useful for enhancing the article). See also this from Time Magazine. The airport is also known as Marrakech and you will see that Google has far more hits on Marrakech than on Marrakesh. --Ipigott (talk) 16:31, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Re Talkbacks Rosie. I see it was Dr B., probably wanting me to look at Marrake?h. Sorry about the confusion. --Ipigott (talk) 16:37, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Re Talkbalks Rosie. The move to Marrakesh came on the heels of the "History of Marrakesh" extraction. I replicated a note I gave earlier to Dr Blofeld on Talk:Marrakesh showing clearly that reliable references explicitly state Marrakesh is the common English spelling. The discussion should probably continue on the talk page, rather than here. Walrasiad (talk) 17:46, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

I don't think Rosie is really bothered guys! Perhaps your red link thirst will be quenched by Template:Marrakesh!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 19:56, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Template: Marrakech

I agree. Since I could get more text for the main article, I added this separately (I knew that you would make this comment). But doing it as separate article would need more inputs from the book (I took six hours to read the book and add about Morocco). Any way, please move it as a separate article. I have just completed this also Patrick Guerrand-Hermès. But it needs more inputs on his education and family. Most book sources refer to his Polo game. May be you can find some book sources which give info on his education and genealogy. With this I have completed all five articles.--Nvvchar. 04:13, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

I have added substantial text to Fatima-Zahra Mansouri for you to nominate it on DYK.--Nvvchar. 05:33, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

I remember that some time back you were interested in Lilleborg, Bornholm. I made a start on the article yesterday. I've also covered the remaining lighthouses (see navbox). --Ipigott (talk) 07:52, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

I have nome'd Fatima-Zahra Mansouri as today was the due date for nomination. But I can't find a common link to the five articles of Marrakech. Why not nominate them individually?--Nvvchar. 01:37, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
You must be having grand Halloween get together. We had dinner at a very nice and real Chinese restaurant; even the vegetarian food was very good. This is the first time I have seen a Halloween here and very nice to see children dressed in different Halloween costumes coming to each house collecting toffees. One of the houses where we live has the front garden scarily decorated with lights and background music. 31st October is the last date for nomination of Marrakech articles. Can you please nominate three atleast? I will nominate two tomorrow. --Nvvchar. 04:52, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Started Royal Castle Hotel.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 13:28, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

All five Marrakech articles are now nominated. You may like to add to this Eagle eyes.--Nvvchar. 22:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Willem Pleyte is now nominated at two places, one is as single article nominated by me without knowing that it was already nominated as triple article hook by you. Please see how to get over this issue. If you feel, I will remove my nomination. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 22:18, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

You and Nvv might find more for Museum of Asian Art. It could do with a reordering and more sources to start with, Rosie you're probably best at doing that.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 19:50, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Will expand tomorrow. Also started High cheekbones after watching this (pause at 4:18 for example and I couldn't help but notice. Can't believe it is missing! There's probably a lot you could say about artistic depictions in ancient history and such too..♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 21:09, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

German Turfan expeditions

Thanks very much for pointing this article out. I have made quite a few additions and added references and footnotes. However, there is much more that should be done - I will try to get back to it - but I am not able to at the moment. Any help by others would be much appreciated. Many thanks, John Hill (talk) 02:44, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

I will work on it today.--Nvvchar. 18:11, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

I have slightly altered the sections in the above article and added some text. There is lot more to add under each of the four German expeditions. Please have a look before I make more additions to the article. You may consider starting articles on Expeditions by other countries such as Russia, Finland, Japan, France, and China, and also USA to the same region of Turfan. I have completed my inputs to Philip and Son and also to Dartmouth Harbour, which you may like to nominate.--Nvvchar. 18:38, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

There is another article the Chunar Fort, probably missed my note on your talk page, which is to be posted on DYK.--Nvvchar. 15:48, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes, the first legend mentions a hill where a foot print was left and the second mentions the Brathri (brother of Vikramaditya) who lived in the hill and where the slab he was sitting on is worshiped. Thanks, Rosie. I want to start on Nendarthal Caves, Spain. Do you subscribe to this subject. It is interesting but tough to collate with so much information on the web and even individual cave articles in wikipedia. Can you find a book reference which gives the names of all caves in Spain both in the northern and southern Spain --Nvvchar. 04:55, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Very interesting.... maybe Nendarthal Caves in Spain, though, unless there are specific caves in Spain with that name. I'll do some research as soon as I can. Can you check on this redlink Tekkemdepe which is in the lead of the STACE article? I couldn't find anything on it so wondering if there's an alt spelling? --Rosiestep (talk) 05:01, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

No, I could not get any more references in the books about STACE. --Nvvchar. 16:03, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Also please see the Royal Castle Hotel article. I have edited to meet reviewer's observations on the DYK talk page. Since I am not sure of the royal lineage, kindly check for any more changes before replying on the DYK talk page. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 18:58, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
On the Tekken depe these references may be of help Central Asia in the Bronze Age: sedentary and nomadic cultures., Central Asia in the Bronze Age: sedentary and nomadic cultures. (Special Section), Archaeological Prehistory of Turkmenstan, and this on Namazga]though most of these have been covered in the article.--Nvvchar. 19:21, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
With the additions and editing made by you the article South Turkmenistan Complex Archaeological Expedition has become very very impressive. I was thinking of making a start on these festivals Kyoto Gion Masturi, Japan, Sakura Masturi Japan and Festival of Monkey King (God), China. Have you heard of these festivals? The first one is celebrated in Washington DC also and there is a big article in wiki on that.--Nvvchar. 05:57, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Don't you want to give a picture of the Bronze head of a bull found in Altyndepe in DYK as it may bring a lot of attention to the article.?--Nvvchar. 06:41, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Neanderthal Museum, was the intention that it be nominated for DYK? I don't think that this has happened yet. If you are interested in helping with Falster -- which I also know quite well -- I suggest we might start with the following: Gedser Odde (area), Hesnæs (village), Kong Svends Høj or King Svend's Mound (passage grave), Orupgaard Gods (old estate), Søholt (country house and park), Ejegod Windmill or Ejegod Mølle and Marielyst (beach resort). Adae Kese Festival

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Adae Kese Festival, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.touringghana.com/html/regions/ashanti/festvals.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. I have completed my inputs to the above and also to Adae Festival and Akwasidae Festival--Nvvchar. 23:45, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

Except in one source, the mention of once in five year festival as Adae Kese Festival appears to be incorrect. You may need to change it to the last ninth quarter festival in the nine 42 days divisions of the year. I am starting this one also Ashanti Yam Festival which is also called the Odwira festival. Do you suggest merging of the Odwira festival with this?--Nvvchar. 03:15, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

I have also completed Ashanti Yam Festival. It could be expanded further but for the present for DYK I hope it would be adequate. One more festival article could make it into a five article hook. Any views?--Nvvchar. 05:16, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Gedser Odde

The DYK project (nominate) 00:02, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

On Corselitz forest, I think it might be useful to keep it as a separate article (Corselitze Forest) as it could then be included in a series of articles about the natural attractions of Falster (together with Gedser Odde, etc.). I don't think people looking at the Corselitze article would necessarily expect to find details of the forest there. I was also wondering whether it would be useful to have a separate article about Det Classenske Fideicommis? --Ipigott (talk) 07:44, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the box and the images on Classen. I'll do Det Classenske Fideicommis and also Peter Hersleb Classen tomorrow. I've also completed a first draft of Nørre Alslev Church, famous for the death dance fresco. --Ipigott (talk) 21:43, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

All the items you mention are covered on different pages of the main Corselitze site here. Most are mentioned in Corselitzes historie. There is only a brief mention of the forest which is however covered in more detail here. Alternatively, there is a brief overview of all the items in the introduction to the little folder on walks in the Corselitze area here. Hope this helps. --Ipigott (talk) 16:40, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

In your DYK hook, you mention the summer house in Corselitze Forest but we have not yet written an article about it. It's a small thatched cottage called Generalens Lysthus on the coast at Tromnæs, rather like Liselund on Mon. Were you by any chance referring to Corselitze itself, in which case we could call it a summer residence (although it was in fact a mansion for year-round use)? --Ipigott (talk) 17:58, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

OK, you're the expert! There's plenty of Danish material for an article on the summer house such as this. If you like, I could put something together tomorrow. Unfortunately I can't find a usable image. I'm also more or less done with Det Classenske Fideicommis and with P. H. Classen. --Ipigott (talk) 18:16, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
The summer house was Classen's and was built in Tromnæs Forest to a design by Andreas Kirkerup. If you wait until tomorrow, you'll have a real article to work from! I'm not surprised you are confused. Google translations from the Scandinavian languages are not yet up to standard. --Ipigott (talk) 21:39, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
If you want to see it on a map, the coords are 54.761221, 12.044882. So technically it's south of the Corselitze Forest although still part of the Corselitze estate. --Ipigott (talk) 21:48, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

inre this

Thanks for dropping by at my humble babble page. Now, regarding why I even tagged the page for CSD back then was because it was really so short, and I didn't quite understand the concept of "context". Some kind souls have kindly enlightened me, and today I think I know better. And now, regarding your "collaboration proposal", I'd be more than bonkers (my way of saying happy) to work with you. It's always better to have another fellow editor to work with, yeah? So far, I haven't touched that much on geo articles, and I would love to venture into the unknown. Thanks and cheers! You might find more on Monegros Desert.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 15:29, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Hehe, thanks Rosie!! Now I know nobody has ever had that one before LOL. Mentioned doing the Provinces of Laos as one hook to NVV to get me over the 1000 mark, what do you think? Most of the articles are stubby like Bokeo Province and if we could aim for a minimal expansion on each one might be achievable?♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 19:25, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

An 18 article hook, to appear on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, Rosie and Nvv let's get cracking, Rosie has strated on Vientiane Province Nvv. Laos is very poorly covered so to at least get a full set of decent articles on the provinces at least would be a major achievement and worthwhile for reaching the 1000th DYK.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 20:29, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

I am not sure if we can find enough text to expand all articles of Laos, which already have about 4500 to 6000 ch. It may be better to try them on sandbox pages as it will be difficult to meet the 5 day deadline --Nvvchar. 04:13, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Do you mean that the text part without infobox and tables is only about 400 to 400ch, in which case they can be expanded?--Nvvchar. 04:45, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification and also the tool which will be useful for me also to count the chs.--Nvvchar. 04:51, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes Nvv, its prose you need to look at! Guldborg needs dome more sources and a bit more, feel free to nom then too. I've started uploading a few photos to the commons and requesting montages for each province.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 13:03, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for you interest in the Falster-related articles. I can see from the page views it has all encouraged interest in Falster itself. I've just completed a first draft of Torkilstrup and will probably now do a couple more churches. Are you at all interested in classical Greek history and architecture? If so, you might like to look at Acropolis of Athens on which I have started to do a bit of work. It is one of the most popular articles on Wikipedia but still only has Start status. Any help or advice would be appreciated. --Ipigott (talk) 11:32, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Glad to hear you are interested in Acropolis of Athens. Start by reading my comments on the talk page. Other problems seem to me to be lack of references for the later sections and above all little description of the various monuments on the site today. Do you agree it would be useful to include short descriptions in the main article rather than just providing links to the articles on each item? Also I think we need a wider range of sources but I am no expert on classical architecture. Have fun! --Ipigott (talk) 07:51, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Alaska collaboration

It was nice to collaborate with you again! As you know I undid the redirect, and started to flesh out the article. As I did so, I noticed your additions. Thanks! We should watch this page, but we have certainly established notability. It really annoys me when action such as redirects is taken before a page has a chance to grow and thus notability be established.

You might want to look at the Israel Keyes talk page. I imported a couple of Wikiproject templates there; one I am a member of, another I am not. However, I believe them both to be very relevant.

Again, its always a pleasure to work with you! :) AlaskaMike (talk) 22:30, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

This article is really coming along! And, over 11k page views yesterday alone! I like the changes you made today. I added a little more info today. I like the tweaks and clean up you've made. Nicely done, as always! :) AlaskaMike (talk) 20:51, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
I agree with your changes, looks great! This is driving traffic to other pages, also. Traffic to barista, which I Wikilinked/bracketed because I thought it might not be universally recognized, has risen significantly in the past two days. I can't imagine that is a coincidence. Wikipedia is such an incredibly great resource! I'm very happy to be even a small part of it! AlaskaMike (talk) 21:02, 5 December 2012 (UTC)

Rosiestep, an issue has come up with the nomination that needs to be addressed before the article can be promoted. I imagine it's pretty easy to address, but it does need to taken care of. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:10, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments on Acropolis of Athens. I understand your hesitation although it's actually not nearly as long as it could be. Have expanded Nykøbing Castle a bit. Maybe it should be divided up into more sections? Also created Abbey Church, Nykøbing Falster which is related. --Ipigott (talk) 13:55, 6 December 2012 (UTC) Also Mecklenburg Ancestral Table. --Ipigott (talk) 14:14, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

OK, but let's not move any to the main space until all done, as some of the others might take a while longer. But yeah I'll add a Template:Done at the top when I think its ready, and will also add the tick to the main page with the list we're working on. Sekong and Oudomxai have the bloated text from when I removed it from the main articles. Not sure what you want to do with it. Some of it seems OK, some of it seems OR and POV,could you decide and give them a good scrub?♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 22:10, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, they are valuable maps for sure. Actually I was wondering whether we should put them in the infoboxes, although I was a little concerned with the montages too they might be a little too long, but give it a trial and see what you think.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 22:19, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

I use firefox, but I have a widescreen monitor back in use and have my own text font and size modifications so it could look quite different from standard arial small text on a smaller screen.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 22:20, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Sure, Khammouane could use history but its not essential. The minor issues of the others seem to have been fixed. Thanks for looking at this one too. I see, however, you have introduced the idea of a museum at Torkilstrup Windmill with a reference to your Danish source. My understanding of "fungerer i dag som museumsmølle" is that it "functions" as a listed monument rather than an operational mill. In fact it is only open to the public for a few hours on three specific days each year and the only references I have been able to find about what is inside address the old milling machinery, said to be in pretty good shape but not operational. In other words, I don't think it is any more of a museum than all the other listed mills in Denmark. So maybe we could say something like: "Since 2003, the mill has been under the ownership of Guldborgsund municipality, the authority charged with its preservation." --Ipigott (talk) 13:56, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Very well organized. Thanks. I could not reply earlier as my internet was down. As regards the thirthankaras (human saints) it may be better to put it under History section only as they are also comparable to Buddha in Buddhism. I will also add some more from Shatrunjaya articile as there is book reference. The height needs to be corrected accordingly. Para on beliefs is not cited. I will try to find some reference. There are two sects of Jains one is Shvetambara saints (wear white robes) and the other is Digambara Saints (who are naked). I will add a little bit on that. Pl check if the expansion is 5x.--Nvvchar. 04:32, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the ref tag. Yes, I have now removed the part sentence, since I could not find a reference though it I did read it in some book. Started Wrinstone House, but I have a feeling maybe we should move it to Wrinstone. Several reasons, there was also a Wrinstone Castle and hamlet of the same name. I think they seem to be synonymous with the manor of that name and we should include both house and castle in a general article. Can you try to piece something together on Wrinstone and might be best to merge. Also I'm noticing a lot of mentioning of the Fonmon family or estate which had their seat at Fonmon Castle. The castle should be expanded and I think the family were so notable in the county that they could have their own article if enough can be found.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 21:21, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Kippinge Church

Harrias talk 12:02, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

I saw your addition about the village of Kippinge spitting into two but the church remaining in the original village. Well, all I can say it that the author of the book is probably not aware that Danish country churches were often not built in villages at all but in the centre of the parish which frequently only consisted of dispersed farms. Many of the churches on Lolland, Falster and Møn are indeed situated out in the country to this day while others have attracted village developments around them. Maybe you could attenuate the impact by saying "By 1338, the villages of Vester- and Østerkippinge had grown up on either side of the parish church." (adding, if you like, "which remained on an isolated site in the countryside."). I'm afraid I have not really time to give you all the quotes on this but they certainly exist in Danish. Otherwise, well done with the article. --Ipigott (talk) 10:51, 21 December 2012 (UTC) I've also made a start on Guldborgsund Zoo if you feel like taking it any further. I'm afraid I'll be tied up between now and the 28th. So let me take this opportunity of wishing you a very Happy Christmas. --Ipigott (talk) 22:18, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Rosiestep, I was wondering whether you'd be interested in revisiting your review here, now that Casliber has addressed the concerns you expressed earlier. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 07:27, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Meteora

I read in the DYK discussion page that there were not many articles on Christianity to be posted during Christmas. I got into the Christmas celebrations mood and expanded this article over the least few hours (seeking Christ's blessings for me and my family). You may like to add, edit and request for a posting in DYK during the coming week. I hope my request is OK, since it is a Greek Orthodox Church. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 17:45, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the very fine editing and additions. Pl post it on DYK, as suitable. I have asked Dr. B also to join. We could wait for a day for his inputs.--Nvvchar. 00:41, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, once again. We will wait for Dr. B to see and add.--Nvvchar. 04:19, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Please see this Saleh Mosque for further expansion to make it 5x. It is very impressive mosque in Sana'a, Yemen and controversial too.--Nvvchar. 09:32, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Ah what a book. Unfortunately I'll have to part with it now and wrap it.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 15:06, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

I have also expanded this article Great Mosque of Sana'a. You may like to add.--Nvvchar. 08:17, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Mount Sage National Park started on 25th is due for nomination. Great Mosque of Sana'a started on 24th is also due for nomination.--Nvvchar. 10:28, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Mount Jackson (Antarctica)

I am trying to expand the above article. Can you find some sources from the Oceanographic Institute's web sources? There is a citation tag in the infobox, which I am not able to locate. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 05:22, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Could not find much on J.C. Cunningham or Mount Cunningham. If it is more than 1600 ch, J.C. Cunningham could make a double with above article.--Nvvchar. 10:24, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
I have started on Kulap to which you may like to add.--Nvvchar. 14:52, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
Please also see this John Cunningham (climber). I hope it is the same person as J.C. Cunningham.--Nvvchar. 17:27, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
Saleh Mosque needs a little more text, Can you please add.? --Nvvchar. 00:23, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks.--Nvvchar. 02:14, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
Nommed Great Mosque of Sana'a and Mount Sage National Park, crediting Rosie too. Should give her a few days to get around to Mount Sage. We have a lot of articles to get through Nvv, everybody else slows down with the work at Christmas, you increase it above normal LOL.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 13:56, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

HW Howgate Photo

Dear Rosie, I have been trying to work out how to insert the photo I have of HW Howgate from his Cosmos Club foundation archive into your article upon the man. Perhaps I can e-mail it to you and you can insert it - my email is Ihowgate@aol.com Kind regards Ian Howgate — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.14.212.233 (talk) 12:21, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Mount Sage

Thanks for the edits to Great Mosque of Sana'a and Mount Sage National Park and both have been nominated by Dr. Blofeld. I have been pretty sick last two days and internet connection in my house is not working. I am writing this from my office this Monday morning. As regards Kulap I can not find any more alternate references. You may be able to find some. On Mount Jackson (Antarctica) and the other two related articles of Mount Cunningham and John Crabbe Cunningham (the Scottish Mountaineer), I have nothing more to add. Saleh Mosque is still short of a few words as per the reviewer. Can you kindly find some more text and reply. Thanks for the patience shown to my frequent requests.--Nvvchar. 06:15, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

I have nominated Template:Did you know nominations/Mount Jackson (Antarctica).--Nvvchar. 19:06, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

I have added to the Pambamarca. I have also requested for some pictures. My laptop is still out of order. If I don't leave a message in the night for the new year, here is wishing you Happy New Year 2013. Tomorrow is a holiday here.--Nvvchar. 11:07, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Have a wonderful New Year Rosie!! Wish you all the best! If you want some stubbing over the next few days check out Template:Islands of Papua New Guinea. Have a browse on google maps, scary, still many of the Ryukyu Islands to do. In the new year I must try to improve coverage of islands, bays, and villages in this area and Oceania. Look through the naval guides in google books, mind boggling what could be started..♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 21:41, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
