Jeet Gian page

User:GeoffreyT2000 @GeoffreyT2000,

Please do remove the notice 'this page is considered for deletion' from the page of Jeet Gian. More information has been added along with all references as well. Jeet Gian is an Indian author who has penned two successful novels and is writing his third, and this page helps provide information about him to everyone. Request you to remove the 'deletion notice' from the page.

Thank You. Regards Pri D (talk) 08:13, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Prasuton Manorah

Hi. Prasuton Manorah, as an alternative spelling of Phra Suthon Manora, should redirect to Manohara, which is the primary topic. Please consider restoring the disambiguator for the TV series. Thank you. --Paul_012 (talk) 01:01, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

@Paul 012: I have moved the page back to Prasuton Manorah (TV series) and created a redirect per your request here. The article has also been renominated for a 2nd AfD. GeoffreyT2000 (talk, contribs) 01:30, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

Rebel Heart move

Do you really think this was a good idea? There is some pretty shaky logic behind most of those supports. Most of them completely disregarded the actual content of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC – re: long-term significance - and one supporter even goes so far as to specifically point out WP:TITLEPTM, but they dismiss it outright by saying the Madonna album should be primary topic because it's time to "give the album an honor already". Will I initiate a move review, or would you prefer to start another RfC? Homeostasis07 (talk) 20:48, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - newsletter No.2

Hello GTrang,

A HUGE backlog

We now have 803 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Thank you for your cleanup work on Downhill (ski competition)!

GeoffreyT2000, this is to thank you for your cleanup work on Downhill (ski competition)! No-one commented on my proposal to make the change, beforehand. Another editor pointed out that there were many disambiguation consequences, after the fact. I would have gladly done the consequent grunt work, but I'm not familiar with what tool that I would use to find the trouble spots. Perhaps you could reply to this message and point to an efficient method for doing the mopping up, so I can clean up after myself the next time. Cheers, User:HopsonRoad 14:15, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

@HopsonRoad: I did not edit that article, but instead did a round-robin move of Downhill (disambiguation) with Downhill, as requested by Natg 19 at WP:RM/TR. It just happens that you have edited the disambiguation page that linked to the article you moved, and it was swapped with the redirect you created while moving. Hello GTrang,

Voting for coordinators has now begun HERE and will continue through/to 23:59 UTC Monday 06 March. Please be sure to vote. Any registered, confirmed editor can vote. Nominations are now closed.

Still a MASSIVE backlog

We now have 803 New Page Reviewers but despite numerous appeals for help, the backlog has NOT been significantly reduced.
If you asked for the New Page Reviewer right, please consider investing a bit of time - every little helps preventing spam and trash entering the mainspace and Google when the 'NO_INDEX' tags expire.

Wow I'm so touched. The reason I made Tiga's page in the first place because of how that guy is one of the most popular Ultraman in history and because of fan enjoyment. I never thought that it would ended up this way. I also plan to make several more Ultraman articles due to how they were mostly lag behind in the wikipedia but my progress is slow due to college reasons.

Your draft article, Draft:May 1953

Hello, GeoffreyT2000. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "May 1953".

In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 17:38, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Dennis Johnson (composer)

Hello, I see you've proposed Dennis Johnson (composer) for deletion. While I agree he's not super famous, I think his noted influence on the work of La Monte Young is of interest. Kyle Gann is one of the most respected writers on minimalism and post-minimalism and thought it worth spending a great deal of time to re-create his unique piece 'November'. For me Dennis Johnson's work is like a rare flower, and is valuable solely for it's rarity. I should add I have no personal interest in it, beyond an interest in the development of minimal music. If it's deleted fewer people will know about it, but I already know so won't be unduly troubled. All the bestLuciferfan (talk) 10:56, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Help with Maritz, LLC article

Greetings! On behalf of Maritz, LLC, I am trying to update the company's Wikipedia article. I have submitted an edit request here and posted requests for help at WikiProject Companies, the Articles for Creation help desk, WikiProject United States, and the talk pages of a couple individual Wikipedia editors, but so far no one has responded to the edit request to add a corporate overview section and information about Maritz's current and former subsidiaries.

I've proposed text for the article here. I realize this is a proposed article expansion, and not an Articles for Creation submission, but this major addition to the article is similar to an Articles for Creation review, so I am reaching out to a few Articles for Creation participants, such as yourself, to see if someone will review the proposed addition for accuracy and neutrality. Is this something you might be willing and able to help with? If you are not interested, that's alright, I am just not sure where else to ask for help for the edit request I submitted over a month ago. Thanks for considering. Question about article review

You reviewed my draft article generating function transformation recently to move it into official article space (thank you for doing so). May I ask what else is missing, or needs to improved within the article for it to get a higher grade on the quality scale? I fixed the two issues about it being an orphan and about it not having an introduction section. Do you still see places where there is irrelevant or missing material, or insufficient citations? I'm asking because I want to improve the article and there do not currently seem to be other active contributors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxieds (talkcontribs) 19:52, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

7 history-merge requests

Tell Your Friends (The Weeknd song)

Hi,

You applied a {{histmerge}} to this article regarding:

but both of these articles are recent duplicates of Tell Your Friends (The Weeknd song) and there's no need to merge the history for attempts to create duplicate articles. It's not as if these were two independent articles that had different content that was merged into one article.

So, instead, I nominated the two duplicate articles for deletion under WP:A10.–CaroleHenson (talk) 15:02, 9 April 2017 (UTC)

Anthony Appleyard - I see that you have been involved in managing requests for histmerges, so I have added you to this discussion as well. As Time Goes By

I have to disagree with redirecting As Time Goes By (TV series) to a section of a disambiguation page - it's very confusing to be redirected to a section. Since the Canadian series is very minor compared to the British series and I would prefer to have it redirect to As Time Goes By (UK TV series), which has the Canada show in the "About" header. What do you think? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 19:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

@DavidWBrooks: I have nominated As Time Goes By (Canadian TV series) for AfD. But per WP:INCOMPDAB, it's OK to redirect to a dab page. If the Canadian series article gets deleted, then the UK series article will be moved back to the original title, As Time Goes By (TV series), instead of the redirect being retargeted. I also noticed that 2601:8C:4001:DCB9:E042:9F0C:5E6:3C3B removed rcat templates from the redirect, so I have then restored them. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 23:43, 4 May 2017 (UTC)
OK, although that seems like a lot of unnecessary work! - DavidWBrooks (talk) 00:02, 5 May 2017 (UTC)
Actually, I have reverted the move of the UK series article. However, per WP:NOTBROKEN, I will not revert the AWB link corrections. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 16:07, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

History-merge query

File:X-Day logo.png

You are misunderstanding what {{orphaned non-free revisions}} means. The template means that a non-free file has multiple revisions and that all revisions (except possibly for the current revision) are unused. Since we don't keep unused non-free files, the template tells that all old revisions should be deleted one week after tagging.

The template says nothing about the current revision of the file. If the current revision happens to be unused, then this is indicated by the template {{di-orphaned fair use}}, which asks for complete deletion of the file.

Also, the file isn't unfree. It's a mistagged {{PD-textlogo}}. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:01, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

Hello GTrang,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Anthony G. Jay, June 13 rejection

To review, here is your rejection statement to my article "Anthony G. Jay": "Please add reliable sources. Interviews, Amazon, YouTube, and the company's website do not establish notability." First, I believe everything in this "Anthony G. Jay" page is reliable and the references prove this on many levels. Notability and reliability are two different issues - I'm sure we can agree on that - and I don't think reliability should be questioned nor should it be lumped in here with this rejection. If you disagree, I'm ok with that but would appreciate a 3rd party opinion on this. Secondly, regarding "notability": while I agree that amazon, youtube, and corporate websites do not necessarily establish notability, interviews are clearly different. Please reconsider this rejection with this important piece of information: the interviews featuring Dr. Anthony G. Jay are podcasts with 10's and 100's of thousands of downloads per episode. The "Primal Blueprint Podcast" that interviews Anthony G. Jay may even have millions of downloads, as might Ben Greenfield Fitness. This is far more substantial than traditional media outlets such as CNN, etc. The links to about a dozen of such interviews are compiled here and they are well referenced on the Anthony G. Jay page as you know: http://www.ajconsultingcompany.com/podcast.html. Overall, what I believe this indicates is that the audience of Dr. Anthony G. Jay is in the millions, which is clearly notable. The citations such as company websites, etc. (Dr. Anthony G. Jay is a President of an international non-profit, very well known overseas) are less about notability and more about personal history and important career information. That being said, even the non-profit that Dr. Anthony G. Jay presides over has a notable Advisory Board (a former Boston Judge, famous scientists, CEO's, etc.), which supplements the notability of Anthony G. Jay (which is being questioned), as seen here: http://www.imrco.org/advisory-board.html In summary, please reconsider this rejection or request an unbiased third party to investigate. Thank you. Sciencewoke (talk) 03:40, 14 June 2017 (UTC)

@Sciencewoke: Your request for a Third Opinion has been declined because 3O isn't really for appeals from draftspace advice. Please see the header on the article draft page for your options. However, remember this: What you're getting in the draftspace is advice, not a judgment. You have the option of moving your draft into mainspace (or at least you will once you have enough edits and time to be autoconfirmed). Once it's there, it may well be nominated for deletion if the advice that you've been given is correct (as I believe it is), but that's your choice: Follow the procedures set out in the header and try to improve the article so that it's clearly notable if that is possible or take it live and hope that it's not deleted. All the stuff you mentioned above, including the number of podcast downloads, is largely irrelevant to Wikipedia notability, which is a defined term here. See WP:BIO for the notability standards for individuals and see the verifiability policy for what Wikipedia defines to be a reliable source. Opporty (website) move

Hi, I reverted your move on this while the article was still at AfD. I think it makes sense to keep the article at the name it had when it was nominated, and to move it if it survives. I agree with you the dab is unnecessary, but think it is better to wait it out in this case. TonyBallioni (talk) 15:24, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

01:22:39, 18 June 2017 review of submission by Rumandru

Hello,

Thank you for taking your time and reviewing the draft. Could you please review the stands below and advise if any of this content should be used in the article to improve it.

It is understood that for Wikipedia the first step to seek the reliable sources for the subject is Google News. Fightmag is included in Google News, since it is a media itself.[1]. Therefore it is cited throughout Wikipedia, which is understood to make it (Fightmag) a reliable source for numerous other articles on Wikipedia. Please advise if it is correct.[2]

In regards to the comment that Only trivial mentions and the subject's own website (a primary source) - The following reference covers the history of the subject, but it is outlined as 'trivial'. In addition the source (World Kickboxing Network) used as a reference is considered as one of the largest organizations in the industry where Fightmag operates. [3]

It appears that one of the major stands for notability of Fightmag, is that it is a unique and the first online magazine out of Australia (that is fully dedicated to combat sports), that particularly covers the sport of Muay Thai internationally; occupies arguably over 50% of all news that appear in Google News (which is the first step for seeking reliable sources on Wikipedia).[4] Isn't it some sort of cliche, that the subject of an article draft (Fightmag) is a reliable source for other articles on Wikipedia (providing them a reference towards their notability), however itself it is not considered as notable, although it is unique out of Australia and one of a few worldwide, as outlined above?

In other words, if Fightmag didn't exist, numerous articles on Wikipedia wouldn't be able to cite it as a reference, which ultimately would result in a lack of the reliable sources for such articles, since Fightmag appears as one of only a few that deeply cover the industry, particularly Muay Thai? Doesn't it make it (important) notable by the definition eg noted as a reliable source and/or reference in terms of it (Fightmag) being a media included Google News, which is a step one in Wikipedia for seeking reliable source? Please advise.

Sorry for repeating things, it just one connects to another.

In addition, there are numerous included articles on Wikipedia that cover similar subjects (but in different industries, not combat sports) that have even less references, such as BAK_(magazine), Mida_(website), Mzansi_Hive. There is indeed an outline on some of them that such articles require an improvement, however they have been published on Wikipedia. Doesn't it create a precedent?

Thank you for your time and advises for the draft of the article in regards to how to improve it so it is eligible for acceptance.

Certain contributions and deletions

Hello there can we discuss some changes you have made on a music related page? Would like to understand/know more about your knowledge in the field. Thanks! Vitolito888 (talk) 20:38, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

@Vitolito888: The only article you edited so far is Grateful (DJ Khaled album). I did edit one of the pages linked in that article, Kevin Cossom, and the edit disambiguated a link using WP:AWB following a requested move discussion at Talk:Avant (singer)#Requested move 15 June 2017. Other than that, there is nothing else I could say here. GeoffreyT2000 (talk) 23:33, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Edit KC page

Thank you for replying quickly. By doing that said edit, it seems that all of KC s song writing credits have disappeared of the page. Could you please verify if you can retrieve those? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vitolito888 (talkcontribs) 19:09, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
