Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

edit- JPMorgan Chase → JPMorganChase (currently a redirect back to JPMorgan Chase) (move · discuss) – Company name changed from “JPMorgan Chase & Co.” to “JPMorganChase;” former short name for company now all one word, no space between “JPMorgan” and “Chase” Artystyk386 (talk) 07:07, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- Company website at [1] still says "© 2024 JPMorgan Chase & Co." This is definitely not uncontroversial. — Amakuru (talk) 18:06, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- The request is to remove the extra space between “JPMorgan” and “Chase.” Legal name will remain JPMorgan Chase & Co., but the request is to remove the extra space from their brand name, which is what the title is currently set to. Artystyk386 (talk) 21:50, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- Indeed, I can see that that's the request. I contest it, however, I am dubious that the form without a space is the common name, and the fact that the company's own legal name is not that adds credence to that notion, and makes this far from uncontroversial. - Tasmanian Ports Corporation → TasPorts (currently a redirect back to Tasmanian Ports Corporation) (move · discuss) – WP:COMMONNAME, has traded as TasPorts since its inception. Hobelauce (talk) 03:56, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Hobelauce, some sources say TasPorts and others say the full name, so the common name is disputed. ToadetteEdit! 11:57, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Montreal steak seasoning → Montreal steak spice (currently a redirect back to Montreal steak seasoning) (move · discuss) – Per Talk:Montreal steak seasoning -- this is the common form -- 64.229.90.32 (talk) 03:39, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- I've never heard of this either way, but when I searched for it, it looks like most results say seasoning. And ngrams conform that seasoning is considerably leading. This should remain where it is. — Amakuru (talk) 05:57, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hartpury College → Hartpury University and Hartpury College (currently a redirect back to Hartpury College) (move · discuss) – Ofsted, the government, the BBC and the local press all refer to this subject as Hartpury University and Hartpury College and Google lists it as Hartpury University and Hartpury College 𝔓420°𝔓Holla 16:00, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- The same suggestion was considered in an RM four years ago that did not succeed, so an RM discussion seems necessary. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:35, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
- TLC (TV network) → TLC (TV channel) (currently a redirect back to TLC (TV network)) (move · discuss) – This is a TV channel, not a TV network, even though/although there are multiple international TLC TV feeds. Intrisit (talk) 08:08, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Moved back in 2013 by @Netoholic (sorry for the ping, I know it's been a decade, but I don't like mentioning somebody w/o pinging them), it has been a while but there was an argument made back then that it's a network, and if others are likely to agree a discussion may be the best choice.
