A tag has been placed on Antrim Forum, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Kings Hall edit

The article was cut from an existing article without consultation, take it to the Belle Vue talk page or come up with some new information. J3Mrs (talk) 12:35, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why should you get your way over mine? Evangp (talk) 12:37, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove referenced and relevant information from well-written articles to make a new one. This is not how Wikipedia works. It is not a question of getting my own way it is simply that the paragraph you removed is an important part of a featured article and one FA criteria is that it must be comprehensive. The redirect sends a reader to the same information, I don't see your problem. Take it to talk. J3Mrs (talk) 12:41, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and sorry to pile on here, but you must make sure that if, in future, you copy and paste material from one article to another, you ensure there is an audit trail for contributions, such as linking to the history of the original article in the edit summary of the new article. The copy and paste you carried out is not in compliance with our licencing terms and is technically a copyright violation as it stands. Sorry to add to the list of complaints about your editing too, I know it's not nice when it feels everybody is shouting at you. Nick (talk) 12:58, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hoch Auditorium edit

You appear to have improperly split Budig Hall into Hoch Auditorium. Please note that since both are the same building, which was rebuilt after a fire. Therefore, the name of the article should match the current name of the subject matter—in this case, Budig Hall. That article can then contain a boldface reference to the former name, along with explanation. Readers searching for the former name should be redirected to the new name, where they can see the explanation.

Please discuss splits like this on the talk page before making such major changes yourself. There are several things that must be considered. For example, after your changes, how would readers who land on the resultant article know that there's another, updated one? No link was provided. Furthermore, the article's history was not moved along with its text. This is standard practice on Wikipedia. Therefore, I will be reverting your good faith changes to both pages. Thanks for understanding. – voidxor (talk | contrib) 08:21, 22 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Japan Jam edit

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

February 2017 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Zénith Paris, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please at least attempt to provide sources to justify your claim, as there are (literally) thousands of references that disagree with you. Referencing an outdated image DOES NOT support your claim. Kiel Opera House edit

Hi, in response to your edit summary "there is a Kiel Opera House" - yes, that's precisely why I'm creating a page for it. It was built in 1902. The article you're attempting to redirect the namespace to is about Peabody Opera House, which from what I read in the article, has changed its name. 1-555-confide (talk) 15:51, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

There's also Theater Kiel, confusing, - perhaps the redirect Kiel Opera should go there, as active. What do you think? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:12, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I see that said so before ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:13, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Theater Kiel is the theater company, not the building. Theater Kiel performs in three venues, of which Kiel Opera House is just one - the main one. Help me see if there's a valid problem here. 1-555-confide (talk) 16:26, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

May 2017 edit

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you.

These unnecessary article moves appear a common theme amongst your edits. As previously mentioned by myself and other editors, please provide a third-party reputable source for article moves. Using justification such as "real" and "it's in the image" does not provide weight to your edits.
Also, providing sources avoids alleviates edit warring (as is the case with Zénith Paris). As it states in both the English and French wikis, "Le Zenith" is the common name given amongst all the venues that bear said title. I highly doubt French or international media refer to the Paris venue (and only the Paris venue) when using the Zenith title. If this is not the case, provide a source.Itsbydesign (talk) 03:40, 31 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
The Zenith in Paris was the first Zenith and was originally called simply "Le Zénith" not Zénith de Paris. Evangp (talk) 13:59, 1 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Again, your "argument" is based upon images whereas others are referring written sources. It may be a common name but it was never an "official" name. There are 17 "Zenith" in France. So, I have worded the text of the article to reflect so because this is slowing becoming absurd. For future reference, I highly suggest that if you would like to contribute to his cite, please reference written reliable third party sources. Also, when you go through your history and just blindly revert edits, it doesn't help your case. Itsbydesign (talk) 00:39, 9 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

The Rave/Eagles Club edit

No proof of? An image? A name? The only difference between the two edits are an image and a name. You have been told this several times in the past. If you disagree with an edit, providing a source is your strongest argument. You appear to be blindly reverting edits because of how you "feel". This tends to be your modus operandi and several editors have warned you to discontinue this behavior. For the final time, I highly suggest you begin providing reliable sources for anything you include that can create debate. If your actions continue negatively, I will progress to the next step. ThunderDome vs Thunderdome edit

Your argument and the notion that it was "usually" spelled a certain way is wrong on many levels.

  • The St. Petersburg City Council voted to change the name to the "ThunderDome" on August 6, 1993.[1] This change was in the works for some time prior.[2]
  • That lasted until October 3, 1996 when Tampa Bay Devil Rays owner Vince Naimoli announced that the team had signed a new naming rights deal with Tropicana Dole Beverages North America.[3](in Tampa Tribune on Oct 4, 1996) -even referred to old name as the ThunderDome in these reports-
  • The spelling was in the same spirit as the previously named SkyDome in Toronto.
  • The official logo of the building during that time had it spelled "ThunderDome" or "THUNDERDOME" with the T and D as overall larger letters than the others.[4] (Tampa Tribune on August 6, 1993)
  • The misspellings can largely be attributed to reporters in the early days of the name change. These are errors by reporters and nothing else. They even took place on the day the city council was poised to approve the name change.[5](St. Petersburg Times on Aug 5, 1993) Then sporadically thereafter by out of town reporters.[6](Sun-Sentinel on Sept 26, 1993)
  • Both the Tampa Bay Storm and the Tampa Bay Lightning referred to it as "ThunderDome" in all of their printed media. (Anecdotally, I happen to be a Tampa Bay Lightning season ticket holder and have been since their first season. I have ticket stubs and other materials from them that support this)
  • Most importantly, I'm sure you know that it is against Wikipedia policy to make edits without any reference. All of my edits on that page had references, your revert does not, and is based solely on you saying "it was usually without the capitol D" -which is unreferenced and more importantly, not the case. As a side note, I spent this morning doing a cursory review of numerous news stories on newspapers.com from that 1993-1996 time frame. The vast majority of news reports involving that stadium were in fact spelled ThunderDome.
  • Regardless of what people wrongly called it (or spelled it), calling it something other than its given name on Wikipedia would be akin to referring to the Chicago Bears' home stadium as "Soldiers'" Field or the Chicago White Sox old stadium as "Cominsky" Park.
  • In conclusion, I'm not interested in an edit war. I made good-faith edits with supporting third-party references, per Wikipedia rules. I've added six additional references here to support those changes. Unless you can cite actual sources that support your claim as to the other spelling, I would ask that you please revert the article back to my changes. Concert venue notability edit

Evan. I came across the Century Theatre (Buffalo, New York) article earlier. This is an article you created and have been the primary author of. I had previously nominated another article where you were also the primary author of an article for AfD. Because of this, I felt it would be rude of me to nominate a second article before looking at your contributions and speaking at least a little with you. I note that you returned to the project specifically to work on concert venue articles and, in fact, almost all of the articles you create are on this type of topic. I want to avoid making it seem like your contributions to this one area are unwelcome.

All that said, however, I hove some concerns about how you apply the notability guidelines to these venues. I see from the comments on this page that I am not the only one that has had concerns about individual venues. What I would like to ask you, therefore, is what do you think counts as "notable" for a nightclub or concert venue.

Based on the articles you've created that I checked, you seem to consider that having hosted a notable music act makes a place notable. I don't think that this would be widely-accepted as most editors accept that notability is WP:NOTINHERITED in this manner. I could very likely be mis-characterizing your views by phrasing it that way, though, hence my question. To put it another way, do you agree that the general notability guideline is satisfied by "Notable band X played at..." type articles?

Thanks for your attention, and I look forward to your response. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 22:21, 4 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Olympia Bruno Coqatrix edit

Do you understand that wikipedia articles of music halls, venues etc bare names as the "full name of the building, hall etc..". "Olympia" is commonly known name of Olympia Bruno Coqiatrix only in english speaking countries. Whole Paris and all people that performed there, especially Dalida, always referred to it as Olympia Bruno Coqatrix.... Will we delete "Carnegie" from "Carnegie hall" because it is called after Andrew Carnegie. Will your rename "Anna Meares Velodrome" in Chandler, to "Velodrome (Chandler)" ?? Or Empire State Building article on wiki to "Empire state" just because people refer to it like that..? Look at the Willis Tower. After Sears company sold it, wiki article changed it's iconic name of Sears Tower. I think that this theme should be left to us, Parisians, to decide.Dalida Editor please ping or message me' 16:18, 3 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Club Pages edit

Hi Evangp - I see that you cover music venues on Wikipedia too. You recently deleted some information and a source I contributed to the Tower Theater page. I added that info to the lede because it speaks to notability and because there was a message at the top of the page saying it needed more sourced info. Just so you know, it wasn't random puffery...I've never been to the place... Lhcollins (talk) 01:41, 24 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

I just read through some of the messages above. Besides awards from respected publications and organizations, I also use coverage by major magazines and newspapers to demonstrate notability...though it looks as if you are usually successful if not highly prolific in publishing your pages despite the conversations above! Bond International Casino edit

Hello Evangp,

I see that you reverted my move of Bonds International Casino to Bond International Casino, and marked it as a minor edit. You wrote in the edit comment, "i believe the nightclub, which the article targets, was known as such". While you may be correct that it was known as Bond's, as I added to the article text, the actual name of the venue, as supported in both the references cited in the article, and in what I wrote on the article's talk page, is Bond International Casino. This is the reason I did the Move action. Please review your modifications to my edit, as your belief that the nightclub was known as such is not supported by the WP:RS sources cited nor any of the Clash ticket images that are available online which were printed by the actual venue. All of them say "Bond International Casino". I would appreciate if you would revert your own edits as they are contrary to the cited secondary sources as well as my own research on the subject. Xblkx (talk) 09:52, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

What about this ticket? https://www.ebay.ie/itm/1981-June-16-SOFTWHITE-UNDERBELLY-Concert-Ticket-Stub-VG-4-0-Bonds-Casino-NYC-/302678933092?hash=item467911fe64 Evangp (talk) 10:35, 7 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your affirmative response to my edit request. That ticket you just showed is a counterexample as many of the Clash posters (especially b&w photocopied ones) are, but that stub looks like a Ticketron stub where someone, somewhere would have probably been typing text in to the machine for what would be printed on a blank ticket and I have no idea where the text guidance would have originated. I looked at a lot of ticket stubs and other printed documents before I suggested the move to Bond International Casino. It seems that nearly all professionally printed tickets where customized blanks were premade and then the seat and cost info was printed onto them with a line printer, and professionally printed flyers and posters have it as Bond International Casino (consistent with the article references plus these items: https://www.nyhistory.org/exhibit/bond-international-180217 and http://www.theyshootactorsdontthey.com/2011/06/bonds-casino.html). Interesting that an investigation into my own archival website [1] that's cited in the article led me to dig deep into this article subject and discover I had also made this same common mistake. Kongreßhalle edit

Bau Kongresshalle

This night I was reading on the choice for the city of Bonn as the capital of Germany in the late 40s. This picture was used on an article you created, named "Kongresshalle". Strangely, the picture is not on the construction of a congress hall: it was intended to be constructed as a parliament, but was later transformed into a radio broadcasting building. I think this is a mistake, this picture next to it. Where is this so-called Kongresshalle in Frankfurt? From what year to what year did it organize performances? I think the source you used is on the Jahrhunderthalle, but please can you provide more context as your article is missing quite some information. Where? When? And, what did it really look like? If you could answer these questions, as you were trying to revert Huon, that would be very welcome. Thanks in advance. Leo CXXIV (talk) 11:23, 11 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Why do you keep reverting, if questions like the ones above are asked to you? Come on, this is bizarre: you are not alone here, pay more attention to others opinions. Leo CXXIV (talk) 18:27, 14 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Diamond Hall moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Diamond Hall, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Palais des Sports (Besançon) 2 edit

Apologies, I had assumed that the (Besançon) here was a Wikipedia disambiguator, rather than part of the common name of the stadium, which is why I renamed the article to Palais des sports Ghani-Yalouz. If the common name had been simply Palais des Sport, then that is clearly not available as an article name, and we would be forced to use an alternative. Given that, normal practice on WP is that it is better to use a fuller but less common name than to invent an articial disambiguation name. I've amended the article to try and make sure nobody else makes the same mistake. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 14:28, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Alte Feuerwache edit

Hello, Evangp,

Thank you for creating Alte Feuerwache.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thanks for the article! However, how does this music venue/former fire station pass the general notability guideline WP:GNG, which requires multiple independent, reliable, secondary sources demonstrating WP:SIGCOV? The current ref is a database-like site (non-SIGCOV), my WP:BEFORE search mainly found trivial mentions or routine property details, see 1, 2, 3, [3]. The refs for the French version is slightly better, but it also just has two decent refs excepting the external links. However, do they discuss this in sufficient detail to be SIGCOV? Many thanks!

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

February 2024 edit

You can't just say an album is notable. We can't take your word for it. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 06:56, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Many say this album is notable. You are the only one saying it's not notable. Evangp (talk) 07:31, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
THEN PROVE IT. Provide your sources. And I am NOT the only one. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 22:32, 5 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, I am not going to prove anything, I am not wasting anymore of my time with this. This is not important enough to deal with a total fool like yourself. Evangp (talk) 00:56, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have been here long enough, and warned previously, that personal attacks will lead to a block. Is there any reason why you shouldn't be blocked now?-- Ponyobons mots 01:02, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You want to block me for calling someone a fool? Give me a break. Evangp (talk) 01:21, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You could choose to strike it.-- Ponyobons mots 01:25, 6 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Station (Florida) edit

The article The Station (Florida) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Cannot find any reliable sources that go in-depth about the subject. Barely any passing mentions.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Mike 🗩 15:45, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
