Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Theophilus Hamutumbangela statue.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 03:06, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@JJMC89: Hello. Thank you for your message, but actually, the process to upload a picture is far too complex for me. You can maybe help me about this ? All I can say about this picture is:
  • I made the picture on 9 August 2019
  • the subject of the picture is a statue
  • the statue is a public place (the Parliament Gardens in Windhoek, Namibia)
  • the depicted person, Theophilus Hamutumbangela, is dead.
Thank you for your help--LeFnake (talk) 07:25, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

IHF archive edit

Hey. Did the french wikipedia already changed the old IHF links to archive? If not could you do request, because my french is not good. I did already a request at the German wikipedia. --Malo95 (talk) 15:00, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Malo95: I manually made some change but it was not systematic. I'll request a bot operate. --LeFnake (talk) 15:03, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
BTW, I'll wait to see how it changes with EHF archive to change both at a time. --LeFnake (talk) 15:05, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
No problem. My contact at the EHF wrote my that she will contact a colleague. Maybe we'll have an answer this week. But now with the new website and the announcements of the CL they have enough to do. So maybe it takes a bit longer. We will see. --Malo95 (talk) 15:15, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Another topic. My biggest project is about field handball. I try to do lists of all international games of each country. Example: de:Liste der Länderspiele der Schweizer Männer-Feldhandballnationalmannschaft. Now I want to do a similar list for the french men's and women's national field handball team. Do you now where I can find such a list? Or do you know somebody how can help my witch this lists. And in general a contact how can help my with field handball in France?--Malo95 (talk) 07:00, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Malo95: hmm, the only idea I have is looking to the archived magazines of the French federation (1945-1952), (discontinued), (1963-1964) and (1965-1992). I think you can find some pieces here but I don't think you'll get a full list. I saw you can a little speak French, so you will be able to do some search within thoses magazines, but you can ask me if you need some help. --LeFnake (talk) 07:26, 2 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

History of handball in France edit

Helle LeFnake. I found the book Histoire et histoires du Handball français (front page) from former FFHB president Jean-Pierre Lacoux.

Could you please ask somebody of the french handball portal to look in this book if there is a list of the field handball games of the french national teams?

And maybe there are more information about field handball in france. Thank you.--Malo95 (talk) 09:40, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Malo95: Hi, I just asked the french handball portal but there's not a lot of people there unfortunately... We will see... --LeFnake (talk) 10:48, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hello LeFnake. I asked a French library if there is a list of the games in the book. But unfortunately not. Depside they send my the chapter with the short chronic of the French handball https://1drv.ms/b/s!ArOwPdoNLXaA4y30QU0wwPfUVVdh?e=UybCBQ. Maybe it'll help your and your colleagues from the Frech Wikipedia.--Malo95 (talk) 12:52, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Marcel Gaudion edit

Hello LeFnake

I started an article about the first French handball star Marcel Gaudion. Could you please take a look at the article and may improve it? Thank you. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 17:06, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Malo95:, thank you for that! Actually I started a draft a few months ago but I didn't take the time to finish it...
I've spotted 2 mistakes: he died in April but not in Mai, and there wasn't zone north (=Occupied France) championship in 1943 anymore (see FFHB). Moreover I'm not sure "he was with 19 years old already handballer of the year", I rather found it was in 1953, so when in was 29 (see fr:Meilleurs handballeurs de l'année en France#De 1951 à 1964). --LeFnake (talk) 17:48, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
I fixen the two mistakes.
With the handball player of 1946 I'm maybe didn't understand this sentence correct: "Athlète National de cette spécialité à 19 ans." 01/1946🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 18:18, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hello @Malo95:, Well, I agree, the sentence isn't very clear... It may have mean he played his first international match when he was 19 (so in 1943), but first international match for France was in 1946...
I then looked to FFHB archives and the most likely is that he has part of the Collège National des Athlètes, some institute and center for excellence in sports (as INSEP now). Moreover, Robert HÉBERT et Henri GIRARD, Gaudion's friend who died during the war, also were Athlètes Nationaux. So I'm pretty convinced that the sentence does not means that Gaudion was the handballer of the year.--LeFnake (talk) 10:47, 29 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

List of games of the male French team edit

Hello LeFnake

I forgot to tell you that I found a list of all games of the French male handball team from 1946 until 21 August 2016. The list is in the book "La grande saga du hand français" (On amazon 9,99 € as Kindle). There is also a list of all players with the number of games separated field and indoor.

From this list I already created a list of the field handball games of France.

In the list I found some inconsistencies:

  • 2/05/46: It was played on 12 May 1946
  • 02/06/46: 4-11 and not 5-11
  • 30/04/46: 30. June and 06-16
  • 21/09/47: 16-05
  • 06/06/48: 4-21
  • 10/10/48: 4-13 according to the Hungarians
  • 13/03/49: 19 March
  • 17/07/49: Huizingen not Burxelle
  • 09/11/53: Most likely 1952 because next game is 14/03/53 and Autrich don't have this game in there list
  • 13/12/53: Opponent Spain
  • 13/01/54: Opponent Germany
  • 08/12/55: 18 December
  • 08/12/56: 12-22
  • 01/03/58: 12-32
  • 28/12/58: 11-22
  • 10/10/59: According to Austria 12 December
  • World championship qualification 1960 are some inconsistencies please look
  • Jean Marie Grosfils is listet that he played 1 field handball game in 1960. But I'm pretty sure that all games of 1960 are indoor. And the swiss newspaper "Sport" wrote during the 1959 Field handball WC that France won't play any field handball games any more.

The other games until 1961 should be ok. Other inconsistencies are that the FFHB count the game on 26 December 1935 against Luxembourg not. Because it was before the FFHB. (Read).

FFHB don't count the second game in 1956 against Switzerland [1].

List of the Swiss games:

You see 16 games of the first 66 have some errors. (Every forth) Therefor please took this list as guide but you have to double check every result.

I hope this will help with your list: fr:Liste des matchs de l'équipe de France masculine de handball par adversaire and I think the remaining games from 2016 until now you already have. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 08:42, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

AfD of Oceania Handball Champions Cup edit

Hey LeFnake

The article Oceania Handball Champions Cup is discussed for deletion.

Besides the teams from the English speaking Australia and New Zealand. Teams from French oversea territories like New Caledonia participated.

Therefor could you please due a search in French. Maybe you will find some additional sources in French, because you are more skilled in a search in French language.

Thank you for your help. 🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 15:32, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Handball at the Goodwill Games moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Handball at the Goodwill Games, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe, and currently has zero. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.
