Fast Five Scores edit

Hi there, I would like to ask about the scores for Fast Five. All were composed by Brian Tyler and were used in the movie, where should I put it? I have link for references. Anyway, nice to meet you!

Re:Films considered the greatest ever edit

First of all. Welcome to Wikipedia. Second Wikipedia has an guideline saying that IMDb is not an reliable source. I don't remember where it is but when I do I will show you. IMDb can be used as External Links though. Third, I never had an problem with comparing Rotten Tomatoes ratings. I even put that The Incredibles is the highest reviewed superhero movie ever in Rotten Tomatoes so far. But that was removed by somebody who thinks that #1 movies on lists can only be used. So if that was true than the Dark Knight's ratings on Rotten Tomatoes wasn't sufficient. Maybe for the Rotten Tomatoes thing you can discuss this at the talk page of the article. If you need any other help on Wikipedia just let me know Jhenderson777 (talk) 16:02, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

You might want to check out this discussion Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films#IMDb not an reliable source. Jhenderson777 (talk) 18:05, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I read the discussion, MOS:FILM#Critical_response, some of Wikipedia_talk:Citing_IMDb, and at least some of other pages linked, so I think I understand. IMDb has demographic skewering, so that's not good, but I still don't understand how top 50 and 250 lists involve vote stacking. As I said, they're "picked by regular voters, who aren't publicly or privately known in order to protect from fixed voting." I'm not gonna use it, though. Rotten Tomatoes is fine, according to MOS:FILM#Critical_response. Am I right, overall? EclecticEnnui (talk) 19:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

weasel words edit

You can start off by looking at these 54 million references --- http://www.google.com/search?q=%22ground%20zero%20mosque%22&rls=com.microsoft:en-us&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1&rlz=&um=1&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=nw -- pls don't tag-bomb the lede again. You know the answer. Or you can start reading the first million or two of that url. It is not controversial that it has been called that by some, and there is no requirement to characterize all 54 million in the lede.--Epeefleche (talk) 06:22, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Obviously, but Wikipedia doesn't like weasel words, so that's why I thought it was relevant. I never said anything about controversy. Anyway, the lede is currently being changed back and forth, so I'm not gonna add it again.--EclecticEnnui (talk) 07:24, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
I agree about weasel words. I think there is a balance here, because wp also doesn't like the lede to be too encumbered. Anyway, I see your point about the myriad back and forth revisions. It does make it hard to move forward, doesn't it. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 17:52, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Human Centipede (First Sequence) is currently a featured article candidate edit

Hi there, thanks for all the helpful edits you have contributed to The Human Centipede article, I thought I'd let you know that the article is currently a featured article candidate!

At the moment I'm trying my best to make positive changes to the article based upon the comments and suggestions on the article review, but any help with this would really be appreciated. The featured article review is here and if you have any spare time it would be really cool if you could have a look at the comments and help make sure the article is meeting the standards that are asked of a featured article. Plus if there's anything you think you can do to help improve the article, or anything important that it's missing, please do go ahead and make the changes!

Thanks for all your help with the article. cya Coolug (talk) 19:42, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey there again, a quick heads up - firstly you may have seen that eventually this article passed! Woo! It has been suggested by some editors that the article is placed on the main page this year on Halloween as it is one of the few FA class horror film articles on Wikipedia. There is a discussion about whether or not this is a good idea at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests - any thoughts at all would be very much appreciated. It would be cool to hear your thoughts. cya! Coolug (talk) 12:03, 21 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Vague tagging edit

Re: "The awards section needs to be updated, so I added a template message." – While you're right that the section needed updating, please use more specific cleanup tags. {{Cleanup-remainder}} is far too vague to be a useful indicator of an awards section needing to be updated; its principal use is for generally bad prose with so many problems that it needs to be overhauled entirely and obviously. See Category:Cleanup templates for a lot of other, more specific options. {{Update|awards|date=September 2010}} or {{Out of date|section|date=September 2011}} would have been more useful. More templates for time and date stuff are in Category:Time and date maintenance templates and Category:Temporal templates. Hope this helps. :-) — SMcCandlish Talk⇒ ʕ(Õلō Contribs. 14:33, 27 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Jian Ghomeshi edit

The established consensus, under WP:ELNO #10, is that Facebook and Twitter aren't appropriate for listing as external links because the reader has to actually log into the site, and actively "like" or "follow" the pages, to actually see all the content posted to them — but not everybody on the internet is actually a member of either site, and not everybody necessarily wants to actively "endorse" the topic just to get a little bit more information. The fact that they're "verified" and "official" profiles isn't really the point, because it isn't actually our job to provide a comprehensive directory of all verified/official social media profiles in the first place or to help people increase their number of social media followers — rather, a site is normally only appropriate for listing as an external link if its content can be viewed freely, without condition or membership requirements, by all people who click on it.

If you disagree with that, you're certainly free to raise an alternate proposal for discussion at Wikipedia talk:External links, but it's a longstanding consensus and I don't think it would be particularly easy to come up with a new argument in favour of inclusion that hasn't already been considered in the past. Bearcat (talk) 18:47, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

You don't have to be a member of Facebook or Twitter to see the content. Right now, I'm not logged into either site and I can see what Jian has posted, like this. Are you saying that since you may not see everything that he's posted, because he (probably) has that control, that these sites aren't allowed to be listed?--EclecticEnnui (talk) 22:15, 11 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey, everything I can find not related to his life says March of 1944, including the NFL references. When removing a certain reference from the article Paris, France (film), you provided an edit summary saying: "Do not include user ratings submitted to websites such as the Internet Movie Database, Metacritic, or Rotten Tomatoes (including its "Audience Says" feature), as they are vulnerable to vote stacking and demographic skew."

Can you clarify what "demographic skew" refers to? Angela Kate Maureen (talk) 16:28, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I think it means people in a particular group favoring a movie in an unfair way. So I dunno, maybe, for example, many Zack Snyder fans upvoting one of his movies like Zack Snyder's Justice League. I was quoting MOS:Film#Audience reception. - EclecticEnnui (talk) 21:09, 17 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Little Canada edit

Hi there. First, my apologies about having to redirect the article you created. I should have simply created the article I wrote in the main namespace to begin with and avoided the resulting duplication. Thanks also for the photo you uploaded to Commons. I was curious if you happened to have any other photos, as I'm taking the article through DYK (see the Little Canada nomination) and would be particularly interested in photos related to the three hooks listed (namely: the Littlization Station, the Rogers Centre with scoreboard, and the under construction northern Canada exhibit). I'd go take photos myself, but won't be travelling to Toronto anytime soon. Mindmatrix 01:08, 14 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. You're welcome. I didn't realize there was another article in the works when I made my article. I don't have a problem with the redirect. As for photos, unfortunately, when I was there, I didn't take many photos. I do have one of the Rogers Centre (with the CN Tower), but without the scoreboard. - EclecticEnnui (talk) 05:35, 15 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh well, it was worth a shot; if there's anything you have that can spruce up the article a bit that'd be fantastic. I scoured Flickr and a few other sites for photos but couldn't find any freely-licenced ones. Regarding my draft of the article, it's certainly not your fault you didn't know. I start articles in my Draft space and sometimes they languish there for months or years (there's a few still there that I started nearly 7 years ago; two of them already have equivalent articles in the main namespace now). So that's entirely my fault. Anyway, thanks again! Mindmatrix 22:29, 15 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Red links edit

Why did you remove the valid red link in this edit? You didn't leave an edit summary so I don't know why you did so. Red links are perfectly appropriate for an institution like a long-standing school about which there is likely to be plenty of published information. In this case, I've created a stub for St. Augustine's Indian Residential School. Red links in an article are not something to remove on sight, but a useful way to help grow the encyclopedia. Please don't remove them without explaining why. Thanks. PamD 16:50, 15 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
