Monster House

I also wondered why Cars was mentioned in the Oscar Monster House was nominated for. It turns out that those two films and the one they lost to (Happy Feet) were the only nominees that year. I didn't revert your edit because I'm honestly still not sure that's relevant, even with such a short list, but since I had the answer to your question, I figured I'd share. Tisnec (talk) 16:15, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! It strikes me as being a bit WP:UNDUE for the lead, but probably reasonable to mention in the article text with this additional context. DonIago (talk) 16:46, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Looper edits

Hi, yes, you made a mistake. My edits did not “add[] a significant amount of unnecessary detail” to the Looper plot summary. Protasm (talk) 21:01, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

I saw a word count of 714 after your edits, which does put the summary over the 700 maximum guideline at WP:FILMPLOT. You're welcome to remove other material in order to retain your edits and keep the summary under 700 words, or initiate a discussion at the article's Talk page if you feel that your edits should be retained without making other edits to the summary. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 21:10, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

MediaMonkey

Dear Doniago I noticed that you consider original of MediaMonkey software developers messages in a forum as an inadequate source. I believe you are in error there. Please accept the corrected version, thank you! Best, many thanks for your work! --Gregor Hagedorn (talk) 00:20, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi Gregor, unfortunately a forum is not a reliable source...additionally when you added the information to the article you didn't provide a citation in any case. You're welcome to re-add the information with a citation to an RS. Cheers! DonIago (talk) 01:16, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

User with a name closely similar to mine

Tell BattleshipGun to change his user name per WP:CHUS since the username is too similar to mine. BattleshipMan (talk) 16:03, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Um. Why are you approaching me about this? DonIago (talk) 20:07, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
Nevermind. I realize now that are usernames that are close to my user name and no admin action was necessary. BattleshipMan (talk) 22:21, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
Well, also, I'm not an admin, heh. DonIago (talk) 22:42, 26 February 2022 (UTC)

Recent edit to "Sleep Walk"

I added Joe Satriani's version to the list of covers of this song, an edit which you immediately reverted. I linked to the page for the album ("Strange Beautiful Music") that includes said version, which is listed in the "Track Listing" subsection for said album. If that doesn't count as a source, I don't know what would. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregmc12 (talkcontribs) 03:18, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

Please review WP:SONGCOVER; you need to provide a source that discusses this cover in some detail. A source that only establishes that it exists doesn't clear the threshold for inclusion. Hope this is helpful! DonIago (talk) 03:23, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
I don't think that's necessarily correct advice. After all, the good article Echoes (Pink Floyd song) name checks Alien Sex Fiend's cover of it using that very mechanism (although it cannot be used to verify anything more than a name check). I think the "Merely appearing in an album track listing, a discography, etc." part of WP:SONGCOVER is designed to discourage mentioning the sort of obscure bands that appear on "tribute to" CDs you used to get with magazines (primarily because, being unsigned, they were cheap to make). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 18:41, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
Either way, the edit in question didn't appear to me to establish either of the basic criteria discussed there, to wit that the rendition is discussed by a reliable source, or that the rendition would meet the notability requirement at WP:NSONGS. DonIago (talk) 19:05, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
