Can I just say wow and well done to whomever redid this diagram ;-P --AlisonW (talk) 11:24, 25 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Based on this[1] page the layout at Stratford is suggested to be the one in this diagram. Any comments welcome (I have to be quick as my internet connection comes and goes) Britmax (talk) 17:24, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The section under construction would have to be swapped with the one in use when this occurs in reality. I had thought to move the Central line one column to the left. As the real one interleaves with the GEML this would be no less accurate than now but would reduce the editing "cranks" above and below Stratford. The low level platforms could be more properly set in a vertical line but there was no interchange icon to allow this last time I looked (I will check again).Britmax (talk) 17:38, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think the layout of Stratford should be refined more. Above i have two proposals, one with the proposed DLR layout as well as the current platforms (in the wrong place but i'm not sure how to put them right) and the second shows the DLR platforms in the right place but without the proposed\under construction DLR platforms. This was adapted from the irst diagram at the very top. How is this to be sorted? Simply south (talk) 19:01, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Looking at the PDF of the actual building plans it is clear that there can't be a connection onwards from the new NLL platforms, so I'm heading towards this layout (needs a CPIC version of mKBHFxe yet). The interchange icons at Stratford can be removed as they are all shown explicitly, and yes, I've had to create an even wider template to do this but I think it works and has some resemblance to geography too. --AlisonW (talk) 01:03, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is a vast improvement although I feel that having the diagram the same width for the whole Central L:ine diagram might be awkward. We could use eKBFe until the DLR take over that platform during which time the blue version may become available. I believe the NLL is still using this platform until then ( or the completion of its new one). Britmax (talk) 08:12, 28 April 2008 (UTC)== Stratford revision redux ==Reply

This is a BS8-2 version to allow us to explore possibilities. I have included Alison's version of Stratford. Britmax (talk) 09:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

First ideas: move the DLR notes at Stratford to two lines to save width and lose an editing crank from just below there. Britmax (talk) 10:39, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would remove the crank between Liverpool Street and Bank except that the reason I put it there specifically is that the line does curve there to avoid surface buildings, among others the vaults of the Bank itself. This may be notable enough to leave in if I can source it. Comments? Britmax (talk) 10:47, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Stratford width is easily solved by change "Docklands Light Railway" to just "DLR", and certainly the crank immediately below that can be removed by one width at both ends. It always comes back to how accurate we want to try to be with these route diagrams, and how many intersecting lines we wish to detail (of all those including Stratford this is by far the most complex and detailed). --AlisonW (talk) 10:54, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Slight revision of Stratford area so that when the new lines are completed it is still possible to squeeze it all in within 8 columns! --AlisonW (talk) 11:46, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Revised using overlays and some newly-created icons to make it perfect! --AlisonW (talk) 15:53, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

With the new BS8-2 on the whole template (not just stratford), the writing is too close to some of the icons. This is noticable on the Hainault Loop. Could this be sorted? Simply south (talk) 17:11, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Former link from NLL removed edit

The platform I have removed today would be hard to place. The Central and Main Line platforms are over the old NLL at this point so to even clip the south end of the high level the rise on this link would rival most roller coasters. I will try to place the high level stations over the low level at some point for accuracy. Britmax (talk) 08:56, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Um, what you removed isn't a *former* link but the *new* one, where the NLL is being changed from running to the through platforms formerly to North Woolwich but now stopping at Stratford. As such I'll reinstate shortly. As regards accuracy, clearly this is never going to happen; one reason why this is a diagrammatic representation of the line and not a scale drawing! The current depiction is fine to see the routes, which is what really matters. --AlisonW (talk) 14:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Having studied this [2] plan, I have reworked the Stratford area. I've removed the high and low level notes as I'm not sure where to put them. Britmax (talk) 20:43, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Coopersale edit

There is (and never was) a station at Coopersale. Unless there is tangible evidence, e.g. planning application or active building work, then it is only speculation and so should not appear on the Central line map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.154.43.47 (talk) 17:54, 22 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

South Ruislip airport link edit

Which airport does this link to? The nearest civilian airport is Heathrow, and I don't think Northolt has scheduled flights, although I could be wrong. Either way this could do with clarification. Britmax (talk) 09:27, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I think it is intended to be for Northolt Aerodrome. Ruislip Gardens is closer to the perimeter fence, but has no service from Marylebone, whereas South Ruislip has one per hour (two if you go out to West Ruislip and come back). --Redrose64 (talk) 11:41, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
