Attempted cleanup conflicts

I'd like to apologize to going all ogre on Aguyintobooks's attempted clean up. There was an edit conflict and I prefer in-line citations to a list of references.

Good eye on spotting some additional sources, though as you admit not all of them are the best. Not including the sources I've already put into the article, I've sorted them thusly:

• Good for notability: Metal Injection (here), Heavy Metal (magazine) (here), Huffington Post (here and here and here), Blabbermouth.net (here), Radio X (United Kingdom) (here), Fast Company (magazine) (here), The Daily Dot (here), Firstpost (here), Latina (magazine) (here), Inside Edition (here)
• Probably good but I can't guarantee: Remezcla.com, Latiné (more specifically this page), AnneCarlini.com (it does have an editorial staff, despite looking like a personal site), Women's International Music Network (or more specifically the articles linked on that page)
• Good for other information, not notability: SXSW's schedule, Berklee (affiliated)
• I'm not too sure about: Discogs (isn't that WP:USERG?), Melodic.net (even though Melodic (magazine) is an established music magazine, the page doesn't really have any content beyond "here's a video"),

This is ignoring redundancy. Sources that only mention Enter Sandman and do not contain info found in other sources should probably be excluded.

Track Listing?

Why no track listing, song credits, or whether Dani or Pau performs lead vocals on which tune? Other artists would have that info on their own pages, but as recording info seems scant, is it not appropriate to include that here? Meriborressick (talk) 00:25, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

I would agree it would be nice to have those credits but also agree it's difficult to find that for the EP's and first two full length releases. If anyone could track that down it would be great. CookEcutter (talk) 02:29, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

I’d be happy to discuss this further on your user page User:Drew1903, but I cannot do this until you create this page.

In short:

1. You cannot advertise tour dates on a Wikipedia page. This is not what Wikipedia is for. Before you make any edit, ask yourself a simple question: Would this exact sentence still make sense 10 years from now? In the case of The rescheduled & slightly revised North American Tour is October/November 2020. Details for dates & venues and ticket info are all available HERE the answer is obviously No. And this means that these sentences do not belong in Wikipedia.

2. Links to external Internet sources must be in footnotes, not in the article itself. The main text of Wikipedia articles only contains links to other Wikipedia articles, but nothing else. The 2020 tour is mentioned in the article, and a corresponding footnote links to the 2020 tour page. This is all Wikipedia can do; more is not possible according to Wikipedia guidelines. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a general info page.

3. If you add information, you must reference supporting evidence in a footnote. When you added the information that the 3 songs recorded in the Sphere studios in Los Angeles were not used on Queen of the Murder Scene, you did not provide any such confirmation. Judging from your contributions page, you have only edited the The Warning article on Wikipedia, so you’re probably a fan or somehow connected to the band. But you cannot simply write inside knowledge here. There must be an external confirmation in form of some article (printed or online) that you reference.

4. Capitalization is not used in Wikipedia to emphasize words. This kind of vociferous advertising does not belong in an encyclopedia.

Move

I'd oppose "Girl Band". While the bassist is still of minor age (16, will be 17 in December), the other two members are adults. There is nothing "girly" about this band anymore. Wasn't there some other, non-Mexican band with the same name? I thought the Mexican qualifier stemmed from that, but I'm not sure. So my vote would got to Mexican Band, Mexican Hard Rock Band or Hard Rock Band. --Uli Zappe (talk) 23:04, 22 September 2021 (UTC)

Calling them a Mexican rock band (while technically correct), gives the appearance that they perform Spanish rock music. I think a better way to describe them would be rock band from Monterrey, Mexico. Most people do not know that Mexico is a republic, so I would vote to drop Nuevo Leon (the state they live in) from their origins as well. Aaceve (talk) 03:11, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

02 May 2022 - I agree.Mexican rock Band SOUNDS CRINGE & RACIST AF.. Also, There IS NO Tag in Music named Mexican Rock AND its a SUB genre, NOT a genre. The sentence its used in, tat properly should be genre , they one they've earned. .Rock. And wo.. Heard them first time this week on yt fro their May 2022 Troubadour gig in LA.. They DO Rock, they are NOT singing songs from Mexico. NOT MEXICAN ROCK BAND... ROCK BAND.. ROCK ROCK ROCK BAND... BAND. is no id3 / tag for "Mexican Rock" and secondly, there is rock and there are other genres. IF there even were such an id3 tag called Mexican Rock (Besides SOUNDING RACIST and/or Non-Inclusive AS F....) it WOULD be SUB genre. Being its the opening sentence. "Is a ++++ band, properly that would be the genre. There genre would be Rock, Some may say metal, and that however would be uo to the band or their label to decide upon... But seriously? Mexican rock? As a technologist and musician and having been in the band scene since a teen (more than a year or 2 ago), Mexican rock that term is so ... so cringe... Id just heard them the other day, they just played 2 nights live in LA at the Troubadour, and I found it accidentally on Youtube and could ot stop watching/listening to the Warning set... They were . .They are great. Very talented, So before more people see their Wiki.. .Please.. Its a Rock band, I heard one song with Spainish Lyrics. ONE. Every other song this month at the Troubadour was in English.. They are a Rock band OR they are an all-woman, or better, a female Rock Band. .. But why does their sex matter.. This is music, they have earned their right to be called a Rock Band.. In this industry, ll girl.. its not always as celebrated as it should.. Everyone gets it in this industry if they are the musician... Thus they are a Rock band.... Its that simple and straight forward.. They are NOT a sub genre, they are NOT Mexican, they are not playing the non-existent Mexican Rock Sub Genre nor are their lyrics in anything other than English minus a song or 2.

You call a trio slowly singing playing a mariachi old, derived from the French invaders wanting them to play at weddings ti entertain guests, it's not Mexican mariachi.. It is just Mariachi... Just like it is NOT Mexican Rock, Mexi Rock, Taco Bell Metal, or anything in between.. These ladies really kickazz, they write and play rock, they sond great, they have absolutely earned their right to be called exactly why typo of artists they are, and that is Rock music artists. Not sure if that ragedump diatribe really deserves a reasoned response, but the massive cringey injustice being conjectured would only be a problem if both words in "Mexican rock" were capitalized, as if the term "Mexican Rock" was a genre that in turn probably does not exist. But in the history of the article both words have never been capitalized in that fashion. The word "Mexican" is capitalized because that is the proper adjective for someone who is from the nation of Mexico. The lower-case "rock" is not capitalized because that is the wide genre of music that this band creates. Seems pretty straightforward to me. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 16:48, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

I agree with Doomsdayer. WP form follows his/her explanation. "U2 is an Irish rock band..." "The Beatles were an English rock band..." "Golden Earring was a Dutch rock band..." Agree with Musicmax and DOOMSDAYER but I go beyond that. First I agree that the clarity that "Mexican" is where they are from and not a genre type is important and IMO an impartial reader will not see otherwise. And if there is not 100% clarity on that perhaps we should reinforce. But going beyond that, under either the correct or mistaken interpretation, "Mexican" is a huge plus to be stated with pride. The OP claiming that it is the opposite is stupid and also makes the OP guilty of being what they accuse others of being. And nobody even alluded to those silly invented stereotypes except the OP, which again reinforces that the OP is guilty of the behavior that they accuse others of.
