Conflict of interest editing edit

Someone, editing as an IP and obviously connected to the subject, has been repeatedly adding unencylopedic puffery and promotionalism, written in ungrammatical English and contrary to the Manual of Style, as well as removing the infobox with no explanation. Will this person please discuss any future changes on this talk page and give your reasons for them. Voceditenore (talk) 17:46, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

HI! I know Samii Family really well. That´s why your article has been corrected otherwise many mistakes will be released. Samira Samii is definitely not a Sport-Journalist. She is Sport-Manager/Sport Agent for Soccer-Professionals in Europe. She is also columnist but not journalist. Her resident is not Germany. Her birthday is 1978. She studied International Tourism Management and graduated in Germany. In addition to her German-University she graduated a MBA Study in Sport-Management in Canada. Her father is a noble Family from North of Iran and he is a well-known eye-surgeon in middle-east. Her mother is a member of the former Royal Family in Persia. Samira Samii is a famous Sport-Agent in German-Bundesliga. She works together with famous soccer Legends like Ali Daei (Iranian Football Legend), Klaus Augenthaler (World Champion 1990), Adriano (Famous Brazilian International)and many others. Samira Samii speaks six languages fluently (English-German-Farsi-French-Spanish-Italian). She is Ambassador of the 2014 World Champion Per-Mertesacker Foundation. Her own Charity-Project is called "Augenblick Mal!" which provides medical support to poor children in third world countries. If you need more information about Samira Samii please have a look on her official Web-Page www.samirasamii.com Jasmin-Shams (talk) 10:49, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Jasmin-Shams, most of the basic information about her which you have outlined is already in the article, referenced to sources independent of the subject, and neutrally worded. A published source, WDR, gives her birth year as 1977. No other sources give 1978 and we do not take the word of someone who claims "to know her family well". The fact that she speaks 6 languages is non-notable trivia. This is an encyclopedia article, not her CV, personal website, or a vehicle for her public relations. Any attempts to turn this article into that will be reverted. If independent coverage of her charity can be found in reliable sources, it will be added to the article. We do not base article content on the subject's personal website or on the image of themselves which they wish to market. Voceditenore (talk) 14:34, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your massage and changing the Columnist. But the resident is definitely wrong. Nowhere you can find her resident. I know, this is an encyclopedia and should not be a personal Web or PR Site. Prof. Madjid Samii is her Family. In his Wekipedia Site his title is mentioned as Professor. Also the father of Samira Samii is Professor. Dr. Hossein Samii not only "Hossein Samii- Eye-Surgeon". Mother and Father of Samira are coming from noble Family. HI! NOBODY can make sure where Samira Samii lives. The residence is definitely wrong and you can not take one article, which is some years old as an evidence for her currently residence. How you can damage her and her noble family reputation with old articles about MEHDI MAHDAVIKIA. How you can take some picture with Fadi Merza when you don't have any rights to image. Please delete the picture immediately. Please also delete immediately the articles about Mahdavikia and Miss Samii. Which are so old and non of them is OK!!!! I can not understand how you can created some page without her allow with wrong information and don't care about my help because I know her really well and I am trying to help you Please delete the following passage: It caused a stir when in April 2006 it became known that Mehdi Mahdavikia had married Samii at a ceremony in Iran in December 2005, while he was still married to his first wife, thus practising bigamy. Jasmin-Shams, I'll try to answer to your objections:
  • Residence: You say that the residence (Germany) in the infobox is definitely wrong, but at the same time say that nobody can make sure where Samira Samii lives. Correct. All we do is to take reliable sources and quote what they say. You might claim to know Samii personally, claim to know that she no longer lives in Germany, but that is not taken into account here.
  • Marriage: Samii does not try to hide the fact that she was married to Mehdi Mahdavikia. Not back in 2006 not now. Wikipedia is not censored, and your view that this information is damaging her is not one I share.
  • Image: The photo of her with Fadi Merza is licensed under Creative Commons license.
As I have added both the picture and the bit about her marriage, I will let the edit request remain open for another editor to reply to. Best, Sam Sing! 16:59, 12 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

You can write about her job but nor Privacy... She is a serious person, which she never like to talk about her past. Older source on residence edit

In the infobox we have had Germany as the residence. This is supported directly by a September 2011 snip from Augsburg Journal that Samira Samii has on her web page saying "Samira Samii, die jetzt in Augsburg lebt" (.. who now lives in Augsburg) [3], and indirectly by the 2014 Business Lounge article saying her office is by Lake Starnberg [4].

Jasmin-Shams, who have disclosed to know the Samii family, and MaxXXX-max have repeatedly said the residence info is wrong. They have now provided this source

  • Schrage, Klaus (27 September 2008). "Exotin in der Männerwelt". Nürnberger Nachrichten.

that does write Samii's main residence is Monaco. Suggesting it is not her only dwelling. Or is the info outdated? For all I care she could have her main residence in Monaco, a second home in Augsburg, and an office by Lake Starnberg. Tentatively I will hide Germany in the infobox and ask other editors (e.g. Voceditenore, Vrac, Ivanvector, JohnBlackburne, Stalwart111, NickCT, Tomwsulcer, Sir Sputnik, and Abiii13wp) to voice their opinion. Sam Sing! 19:55, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's more outdated and one way of reading, from my parsing of Hauptwohnsitz, is she was resident for tax purposes. So even then it may have primarily been a financial arrangement. It's often the case that such arrangements come to an end when they become inconvenient, when they come under examination from the press or officials, or when laws are changed to close loopholes.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 20:02, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Jasmin provided a different article on my talk page (this link) which dates to August 2008. I do not read German but ran the source on my talk page through Google Translate, which produced text which said explicitly that she lives in Nuremberg, and commutes (Google's translation) to Hamburg, Frankfurt and Monte Carlo, and I interpret Hauptwohnsitz as JohnBlackburne does that it may imply her residence for tax purposes and not necessarily the actual place where she lives. Both are older than the Augsburg Journal article and I'm inclined to go with the newest info, although none is particularly up to date and it does seem that Ms. Samii is not keen on divulging this information. I agree with Jasmin and Max that we shouldn't infer where she lives by where she works, and I'm fine with hiding it as a solution. Ivanvector (talk) 20:22, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
The newest source wins... unless the editor comes up with a newer source that explicitly says otherwise, Samii lives in Augsburg, otherwise it is original research. I don't think we should spend any more time thinking about this. The burden of proof is on the user that wants to make the change, so far I don't see any proof. Vrac (talk) 23:05, 14 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • If it can't be sufficiently verified then it should be removed/hidden until appropriate sources are identified. But concern over a single fact certainly isn't justification for deleting the article (which is what has been suggested at AFD). Thanks, Sam, for raising it here so that it can be resolved. Note that it would be possible to crop the current picture in the article (which is appropriately licensed) to show only Ms. Samii and to upload the additional cropped version to Commons. That's the only way I can see a "single" picture of her appearing the article, unless or until she produces a different image with a verifiably compatible license. Subject's web page edit

Following Samira Samii's request for article deletion and the sock's repeated assertion that the article is 100% wrong (e.g. here and here) it might be worth noting that Samii on her web page has a notice saying

which roughly translates to

  • Dear visitor to samirasamii.com. We want to inform you that all Wikipedia entries about Samira Samii are wrong and sometimes even spread untruths!!! We have also requested Google speedy delete the false article. Sam Sing! 11:22, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Well, it's her right and her choice to make that statement on her website, albeit a counter-productive one from the subject's point of view. Even if Google were to remove this article from their search engine results (which I very much doubt), her website statement now points vistors to Wikipedia where they can read the alleged "untruths" and of course all the reliable sources on which the article is based. However, the unfortunate by-product which may result is a repeat of the recent disruptive shenanigans and sockpuppetry. It may be necessary to request pending changes protection if that happens. Voceditenore (talk) 12:19, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
I think it would be more productive to offer to correct the information she claims is incorrect, although this seems a bit like someone trying to scrub their professional image of past transgressions. Wikipedia is not the place for that - reliably sourced information isn't going anywhere because someone throws a fit. I'm also for pending changes protection - it's there to protect BLPs from sockpuppetry. I don't think this is going to go anywhere but Ms. Samii ought to read up on the Streisand effect. Ivanvector (talk) 23:39, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
So far, the information that was`claimed to be incorrect or was objected to was:
  • that she was "resident in Germany". Problem resolved. We removed it 6 days ago since the press sources were unclear on the subject.
  • that she was born in 1978 not 1977. We have at least two reliable sources – interviews with her in prominent German publications –– which state 1977. All she has to do is correct that on her website and we will change it. All other biographical information in the article, e.g. place of birth, where she grew up, what she studied, her various activities, is confirmed not only in reliable sources, including interviews which she herself has given, but also on her own website.
  • that the fact that she comes from a "noble"/"royal" family in Iran hasn't been given more emphasis. My view is that the weight currently given to this in the article is sufficient and proportionate. It is a mildly interesting fact but is irrelevant to her notability.
  • that both her father and her mother came from "noble families", an assertion contradicted on her own website which states that only her mother does [6].
  • that her father's name should be preceded by "Prof. Dr.". This is contrary to the Manual of style and will not be done. We state that he is a "noted eye surgeon", as do all the reliable sources and her own website.
  • that we should not mention her marriage to a prominent person with his own WP article. Their marriage and the circumstances of the separation are likewise covered in multiple reliable sources. The subject is currently covered in her WP article in two brief, neutrally worded sentences. Interestingly, it is covered in much more sensationalist and highly personal detail on her own website, e.g. [7] and in multiple other press articles archived on there, all of which are interviews which she herself gave to the press. The WP article respects her privacy far more than her own website does.
  • that the picture used should show only her. "Problem" resolved. I have now uploaded a cropped version of the original image with Fadi Merza and used that for the infobox.
So there we have it. The sockfarm that had been making legal threats and disrupting this article, its talk page and the AfD are doing her no favours whatsoever and are actively detracting from her image by their behaviour rather than enhancing it. Ditto the notice on her website. I imagine that all this will fall on deaf ears, however. Voceditenore (talk) 09:23, 20 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have marked them as dead links. However, we do not remove references simply because they are now offline. The full bibliographic information allows them to be consulted in print editions. I have also added an extra reference. Please note that there is nothing in this Wikipedia article that is not also on her own web site either written by her or in press articles which she has archived there. The two links are to the same interview. It does not appear to contain any information about her that is not already in the article. The goal.com article is simply a reprint of the Rund article which you have already suggested three times. I have explained above why it isn't in the article. The fact that she has written a testimonial for the website of a fashion designer she likes is neither noteworthy nor encyclopedic. Again, this is something for her personal website, not an encyclopedia article. Voceditenore (talk) 09:21, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your massage edit

OK Thanks. I understood. I try to help because she is a interesting woman. I know she has a homepage. I already studied her home-page. But your references from 9-11 non of them are in her home page. She didn't mentioned Mahdavikia´s name any where in her home page. If I find some interesting article I will let you know. Because first I have to learn about Wikipedia. I don't want to change or edit something without experience.(LeafanSilar (talk) 10:00, 12 February 2015 (UTC))Reply

Her former husband's name is mentioned all over her website, although not on the front page of it. I think you already know that. I also suggest you read this page and this one very carefully. Voceditenore (talk) 10:31, 13 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Abendzeitung-Newspaper- Sport edit

http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de/inhalt.sport-alla-hui.08b113e8-0516-4bcb-aff2-da8308819951.html Please look at this article maybe its OK for your use.(LeafanSilar (talk) 10:09, 12 February 2015 (UTC))Reply

The article is about the sister of a footballer and aspiring model who apparently has Samii as her agent. Again this adds absolutely nothing of encyclopedic interest to the article about Samii. Nor is it required to verify any existing information. Again, this is something for Samii's personal website, not an encyclopedia article. We are not here to provide public relations either for her or for her clients. Voceditenore (talk) 10:53, 13 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

what a complete waste of time... edit

this person is neither a celebrity nor a prominent social figure. why is she listed on wikipedia? next time, i will create an article on my neighbour and his three-legged dog. probably more interesting aspects to offer than this mediocre person and horribly written article! wikipedia needs a quality control. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 126.244.104.60 (talk) 21:52, 22 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
