Actually, no. In Lebanon we often simply write it هيفاوهبي like it is on the Baddi Eish cover. Are you saying she spelled her own name wrong on her own CD cover?

She's officially known as Haifa Wehbe, don't you think it should be changed back from "Wahbi" though it's the proper pronounciation in Arabic?

Mum Christian

Since when is Wehbe's mum a Christian. She said she was a Muslim in numerous ocations.

According to Wikipedia guideline her mom's origins and religious affiliation have nothing to do with the article. Haifa Wehbe is Lebanese Muslim Shi'a. When Haifa Wehbe passes away that is when you mention such information. Year of birth

It might be a violation of WP:OR, but I contacted Haifa's agent through the official Haifa Wehbe website. She answered me that Haifas birthday is on 10th of March 1976. I dont see any reason not to trust this information. Bertilvidet 08:09, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, there is the fact that this article contradicts itself. Yes, the introduction states that she was born in 1976; but the 'Biography' section states:

A: She was sixteen when she won Ms. South Lebanon

B: Nine years later, in 1995, she was runner up in Ms. Lebanon.

Now, 16 plus 9 = 25. If she was twenty-five in 1995, then she was born in 1970 (95 minus 25 = 70).

Haifa was born 1970, she was 25 participated in Miss Lebanon 1995 . She celebrated her 36th birthday this past May (2006). She has never been very public about her age in order to maintain her youthful flirty image.

First of all, I do not think this article is worthy enough of a protection, while many major scientific articles lack the protection needed. Nevertheless, that was just my personal opinion. About the birth date issue, I have been looking for sources to verify the 1970 birth via the 1995 Miss Lebanon pageant. Scandal?

Why is there always an oblique reference to a scandal in which Wehbe was involved, without further explanation? From what I understand -- which is unconfirmed gossip at this time -- she was involved in a rather spectacular sex scandal some years ago, before she started her music career. If this is so, and someone has good, verifiable information on this (like a newspaper article, at the very least), then it would be nice to see this explained properly rather than dropped like a hint into the entry. On the other hand, if no one can provide documentation that this story exists, if not actually prove its validity, then perhaps there should be no mention at all, since that might constitute libel. Adding information to this article

First of all, per WP:OWN, no one can "take over" this article in the sense of being the sole mantainer of it. It is currently semi-protected because people were constantly screwing around with the data of birth without providing a reliable source....which leads me to my next point; any information added to Wikipedia should be verifiable through a reliable source. No birth date unless absolutely reliable sourcing is found

I have removed the date of birth from this article completely. There is clearly disagreement over which date is correct, and the sources that I have seen are not particularly reliable and also disagree with each other. (For example the most recent one being used to say 1970 actually gave a year of 1967). In situations like this, the sourcing needs to be absolutely impeccable. Without this, the correct response is to not include anything, as we cannot know what is true. There is more damage (both to wikipedia and potentially to the subject of the article) by including false information than not including anything. In need of a reliable source for year of birth

This is perhaps one of the most "credible" reliable sources. Still, Haifa may or may not have been candid with her DOB. The only way to be sure would be to get hold of her birth certificate or another government ID, and even then one never knows. While 1969, 1970 and 1972 are quoted as her DOB, most also say 1976, even in the same article.Worldedixor (talk) 04:02, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

@CommanderOzEvolved:, I removed it as a precautionary since this is BLP and there's no direct citation. But on second thought, the word doesn't necessarily means (or used to mean) what you think. Because "cum" is used in non-obscene way to mean "become". That is even primary meaning in Meriam Webster. In this case "Model-cum-actress" simply means she started this and jump to this. However that's not necessary in Award listing. Thank you
