Personal life
editHi, this is a warning that the personal life information in this article is much too short. Any biography that is of GA standard must have at least one well organised paragraph describing the persons life outside of their field for which they are famous or otherwise incorporate that information elsewhere in the text. This article does not provide enough information on the person in question and does not give enough context for the incidents and information that is mentioned. For an example of how such a section might look, see Brian Urlacher and for pointers on how to expand and improve the section, see this guide. If this information is not improved then this article would be unlikely to survive a Good Article Reassessment and may well be delisted in the future. Grandparent category of existing category
edit... [The origin of this discussion is here. Bo99 (talk) 21:09, 31 October 2015 (UTC)]
- I am going to check on this momentarily. I am just moving the conversation here.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 20:34, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- O.K. I am convinced. Why don't you bring this up at WT:MLB because the policy should be consistent for all notable baseball players who also played college baseball.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 20:40, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, i will again add the Princeton University Alumni category to the Chris Young article, unless u get to it first. But as to broader, consistentize-ing work as u suggest, i will probably leave that to other(s), because my primary concern was to fix the undoing of my work. (And if someone does consider broader work, i emphasize that probably the biggest best starting point would be to consistent-ize category names, e.g. one category should be Princeton University Athletes, rather than Princeton Tigers Athletes, for consistency with the parent category Princeton University Alumni, and for other significant benefits.) Bo99 (talk) 21:09, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
"Chris" vs "Christopher"
edit"Chris" is a shortened version of "Christopher", not a nickname. Whenever I come across a page for a "Chris" or a "Dave" or a "Mike" and see the lead start off with Christopher "Chris" or David "Dave" or Michael "Mike", I always remove the shortened version. Do we really need to have both listed? It seems redundant and pedantic. – Muboshgu (talk) 22:47, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Muboshgu, I always add such nicknames. I admit they are somewhat obvious, but I am not sure what policy is in this regard.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 00:10, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- I recall looking once and not finding any particular policy relevant to this. – Muboshgu (talk) 00:30, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
Updated Picture
editThe picture should be updated to show him with the Kansas City Royals, preferably pitching in the World Series, since that is where he is now. Elisfkc (talk) 00:25, 2 November 2015 (UTC)
