Ready to Move edit

This draft should be ready to move to the mainspace. Star Wars just posted on Twitter that production begins today. [1] Hummerrocket (talk) 16:13, 9 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Still limited? edit

Is it still a limited series? Because while it says so I think on another page (Star Wars spinoffs?) it doesn't say so here--CreecregofLife (talk) 18:16, 9 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Reach consensus on recent edits edit

To editors UnkreativeFrog and Favre1fan93: Please find some common ground here on the talk page before restoring content. These reverts have been spaced out, so they're technically not endangering anyone of WP:3RR blocks quite yet, but it's skirting the edge, and the back and forth has definitely become disruptive. Whether correct or not, not all information published in WP:RS must be included. For example, details of the creation of the character are more relevant on the character page, and duplicating information to another page does not necessarily benefit the encyclopedia when WP:SUMMARYSTYLE is available to us. The edits are so large, perhaps breaking out key topics of contention might help. -2pou (talk) 18:54, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree with 2pou, Unkreative made unsupported changes to the formatting of the article, which has been developed based on community consensus and aligns with the other Mandoverse series' articles, added unsourced details and details from unreliable sources, and made changes that go against WP:TV conventions. If there are specific parts of their edits that they feel strongly about including then they should explain why here and get consensus for each change. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:00, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but I really don't see the problem you seem to have.
I just added, and expanded, information which I think is interesting and relevant for this subject. My sources (wikipedia:THR, Wikipedia:RSPDEADLINE are reliable, both by Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources and common sense. the interview is with the Dawson is also kinda reliable (though not perfectly) and is worth mentioning. The plot premises were stated by LucasFilm and Dave Filoni. concerning the cast and introduction I added a bit of the characters backstory in star wars up to this point for their context in the series. I added the point about the false IMDb date because it probably confused/mislead a bunch of people about the status of the series (atleast it did it for me)
So where exactly is the big problem with my edits that you have to constantly revert them? If there are problems with specific points feel free to optimize them (thats the point of Wikipedia) but please stop reverting complete constructive edits and so delete useful information from articles. UnkreativeFrog (talk) 21:54, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

I can breakdown what the issues were with your edits as seen here:

  • Lead
    • No indication the title will be "Star Wars: Ahsoka". It has only been announced and referred to as such at this point as simply "Ahsoka".
    • Ignored the hidden note about the animated series in the first paragraph. This series is most directly related to the "Mandoverse" so that is the most relevant series to link while adding "other Star Wars media" to cover the rest. The additional series info is noted in the second paragraph, which follows a similar formatting to The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett.
    • WP:LEADCITE, no need for references here for material covered in the article, plus MOS:SEASON for indicating "fall 2023".
  • Premise
    • StarWarsNews.net is an unreliable source
    • The info from the Celebration footage isn't super relevant yet since it really isn't a formal "premise" summary
  • Cast and characters
    • Unexplained header removal
    • Bordizzo info: why the removal of already sourced info and adjustment of refs? Also, her Ghost info is not yet relevant (not to mention unsourced).
    • Esfandi info: some of this may be helpful, but the previous was succinct enough based on what is currently known (not rumored).
    • Hera and Chopper should not be bulletted until an actor is reliably sourced to be portraying them (notably for Hera)
    • Stevenson info: why add an the exact same source that's there? Also we don't need to quote THR as you did. The relevant info is he's an admiral and villain, info succinctly already there.
  • Casting
    • Mikkelsen was always a rumor. Wikipedia should not discuss rumors, and since we technically don't know that Thrawn is showing up, it is of no benefit to mention this. Once we indeed know the character is appearing, and who is portraying them here, it will be relevant to mention the previous portrayal by Mikkelsen if necessary.
  • Marketing and Release
    • No idea why the change of heading when "Release" already exists, and the two are independent of each other
    • Additions here were unnecessary seeing as the section already covered the Celebration footage. We don't need to state it was never publicly released.
  • Release
    • Again, no clue why more info was added when it's already covered that it's intended to be releasing in late 2023. Again MOS:SEASON. IMDb is also an unreliable source WP:IMDB so all that addition should not have happened.

So out of all those, the only valid additions were about StageCraft, which I went back formatted/adjusted better, and a link to Gar Saxon. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:37, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also adding, much of what you added and as you stated I just added, and expanded, information which I think is interesting and relevant for this subject is beneficial to a fan wikia, not Wikipedia. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:38, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

All this information is

  • often relevant for context in the broader franchise (and a bit also for the TV induStry)
  • useful for the people who search for information about the series (what kinda is the whole purpose and use of Wikipedia)
  • just worth documenting

I really dont mean to offend you but this is a bit pedantic. States of articles change, they get optimized and expanded, it is only normal and part of the concept of projects like wikipedia, and this a good thing. and as I said before you can also do that with parts of articles that arent perfect (for example the Starwars.net source) but there really isnt a need for just reverting edits just because points get expanded and sentences minor change and differ from yours. UnkreativeFrog (talk) 17:39, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

You've yet to state exactly how any of this is relevant beyond what is already in the article. If you made some minor adjustments throughout that is one thing. These were large-scale reformatting (against consensus and the WP:STATUSQUO) and was frankly formatted partially in a way with the tone of a fan site/wikia. I've noted all the relevant MOS guidelines above for why your edits should not have been made, which would be in addition to MOS:TV. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:20, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but seem to just ignore what I already said. Again:
  • the characters backstory and previous appearances are relevant because it gives a bit of context about the characters and their established relationships and the role they will (probably) have in the series.
  • the premise (which is otherwise completely missing) is for one part made of the official premise (https://d23.com/magical-moments-from-studio-showcase-day-2-marvel-studios-lucasfilm-and-20th-century-studios/ which I just sourced with starwarsnews.net) and based on quotes from Dave Filoni and the teaser, which is relevant because it gives an inside into the plot and charaters of an otherwise pretty vaguely kept series.
  • Hera was in the teaser so she will probably appear in the series
  • Stevenson extra info is relevant because else it just sounds like he was cast as thrawn and they just don't want to say it yet
  • the intruduction is, admittedly, maybe a bit long. the second half should maybe be omitted.
  • I dont really see what else i really reformatted and what of my edit was "in a way with the tone of a fan site/wikia" (apart from the fact that this, atleast in this context, would not always automatically be a something bad).
UnkreativeFrog (talk) 19:56, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I haven't ignored anything as I've seen what you've tried to add and responded as such to each added/changed piece in the article of your edit. And based on how and what you did, and as explained, it came across with minutia, trivial details and formatting that made the article appear as if it was a fan site. WP:NOTFANWEBSITE. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:47, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Favre1fane is spot on with everything he's said. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 19:56, 3 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

UnkreativeFrog (talk) 08:36, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Jauerback @Brojam Stop reverting constructive edits. this is getting disruptive. This article is missing a premise so I added one supported by reliable sources and added a sentence that was literally already in that article. Nothing about this is a controversial or bold change in any way. UnkreativeFrog (talk) 12:29, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Page is not working properly when not logged in? edit

If you aren't logged into wikipedia and you go to the article you cannot click or highlight any text or links. It thinks the whole page is a link but it doesn't link to anywhere. Can someone else test this out? Page works normally when logged in.Achopstix (talk) 19:40, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Just tested it and I have the same issue on mobile. Other articles seem fine, so it's just something off with this article. -- ZooBlazertalk 19:46, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK wanted to make sure it wasn't just me...interesting. I don't have much experience with Wikipedia i actually JUST registered to post this...and then it went away so I was SUPER confused! Thanks for confirming hopefully someone can fix it. I have no idea. Achopstix (talk) 19:52, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Looks like it's been fixed. :) Achopstix (talk) 20:09, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Official billing of the Ahsoka cast from Disney press release edit

An official press release from Disney has the order of the Ahsoka cast listed here: https://assets.gettyimages.com/bf-boulder-whitelabelbucket-getty-prod/r58vvshrv5xcqqbzgzqmjtnx/v/1093969948/original/4.11.23%20SW%20Celeb%20Tues%20Wrap%20Up%20Press%20Blast.pdf.

Hoping we can use to rearrange the main cast for Ahsoka in this specific order. MarvelDisney20 (talk) 23:08, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Temuera Morrison as Rex edit

There’s talk going around the actor is going to portray the character in live-action in this show. Is this article from CBR here enough to add him on the page here? 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 13:05, 4 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Info stems from an unreliable source, and thus it is WP:FRUIT if any normally reliable sources such as CBR report on it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:02, 5 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well sorry okay I just got excited. 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 13:00, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Is this true? Likely, but Wikipedia works on sourcing info from reliable sources. WP:NORUSH. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:24, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I know it has to be true even though the source is not considered reliable. People suspected for a time Namor would be in Black Panther and it turned out to be true even though there was no reliable source at the time. 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 17:59, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sure. But it is just coincidental. Besides, Wikipedia depends on reliable sources. Unreliable sources are not typically counted. JEDIMASTER2008 (talk) 02:24, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Guess what saw the new episode of Ahsoka and Rex was in it voiced by Morrison. 0Detail-Attention215 (talk) 02:06, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Requested move at Talk:Star Wars: Ahsoka#Requested move 11 August 2023 edit

There is a requested move discussion at Talk:Star Wars: Ahsoka#Requested move 11 August 2023 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. 2pou (talk) 17:31, 16 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Is this still ongoing? The links don't go to any discussion of a requested move. Alaney2k (talk) 21:45, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Alaney2k sometimes these notices start pointing to the wrong spot after the move takes place. See Talk:Ahsoka (novel)#Requested move 11 August 2023 now instead. (The discussion was closed and moved the novel page.) -2pou (talk) 22:00, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thrawn credit edit

Shouldn't there be a character credit for Timothy Zahn in the infobox? Maybe the infobox is just repeating the show titles, but it seems to be an omission. Does the infobox have to match exactly the show credits? Alaney2k (talk) 21:42, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

The infobox matches exactly as credited on screen (with some slight leeway if needed). Also, this is not Thrawn's series, it's Ahsoka's and she was not a Zahn creation. Regardless, all Star Wars projects post-Lucas's sale to Disney are credited as "Based on Star Wars created by George Lucas". - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:08, 4 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Confirmation of Ahsoka being renewed for a second season from Lucasfilm edit

In the press release about "The Mandalorian and Grogu" theatrical movie, Lucasfilm confirmed Ahsoka is coming back for Season 2: https://www.starwars.com/news/the-mandalorian-and-grogu.

Hoping we can add this into the show's wiki page. 98.109.177.173 (talk) 17:34, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Season articles edit

Hi all, just letting everyone know that I have put together drafts for future season articles at Draft:Ahsoka season 1 and Draft:Ahsoka season 2. The S1 draft is looking really good and the S2 draft is ready for the new info we will (hopefully) be getting later this year. We should be able to move these to the mainspace once S2 starts filming. At that point, this article will become an overview articles which I have mocked-up in my sandbox here. For now, I have expanded this article with the details from the season drafts. Happy to discuss if there are any questions or concerns about my changes. Thanks, adamstom97 (talk) 20:05, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
