Wikipedia:WikiProject Science Fiction/Assessment

Welcome to the assessment department of WikiProject Science Fiction! This department focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's science fiction related articles. Article ratings are used within the project to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.

The ratings are done in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{Science Fiction Project}} banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:Science fiction articles by quality and Category:Science fiction articles by importance, which serves as the foundation for a worklist for the project.

Frequently asked questions edit

How can I get my article rated?
Please list it in the section for assessment requests below.
Who can assess articles?
Any member of WikiProject Science Fiction is free to add or change the rating of an article.
Why didn't the reviewer leave any comments?
Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, we are unable to leave detailed comments in most cases. If you have particular questions, you might ask the person who assessed the article; they will usually be happy to provide you with their reasoning.
What if I don't agree with a rating?
If you disagree with a rating on an article you created, you can list it in the section for assessment requests below, and someone will take a look at it. Alternately, you can ask any member of the project to rate the article again. If you disagree with a rating on an article you did not create, feel free to change it.
Aren't the ratings subjective?
Yes, they are, but it's the best system we've been able to devise; if you have a better idea, please don't hesitate to let us know!

If you have any other questions not listed here, please feel free to ask them on the discussion page for this department.

Requesting an assessment edit

If you have made significant changes to an article and would like an outside opinion on a new rating for it, please feel free to list it below.

If you assess a requested article, please strike it off so that other editors will not waste time going there too. Comments are not mandatory and any should be left at the article's talk page; the list below will be wiped periodically; if you registered a request below and it has been fulfilled, please consider coming back and removing it from the list yourself.

  • Rachel Aaron — science fiction and fantasy author. Article was improved while the subject of an AfD. Consensus was to Keep. Scottyoak2 (talk) 18:39, 21 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • America 3000: I'm a student editor and selected this page as my main project. I've made extensive revisions to the article. Prior to my work the article was considered a Stub. I believe it is now at minimum a 'start'. WillKBeatty (talk) 17:40, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Colors of Space: I've added a plot summary and 1 link, making it longer than a typical stub. I'd like to know if it can be considered start-class. Thanks, Pastychomper (talk) 12:18, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
