Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Josue Joseph

Comment: - this has not been deleted, and you are welcome to edit it and re-submit. What it needs is references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources to establish WP:Notability.
Tip: to make a link to another article, you don't need to repeat the word, e.g. [[Connecticut Connecticut]], just [[Connecticut]] is enough, producing a link like Connecticut. See WP:Wikilink for details, but also read WP:Overlink - don't overdo it. JohnCD (talk) 13:31, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Dave Considine

The article was deleted through PROD and would like to request that it be undeleted, I believe he is more than notable and I would like to update the page with accurate up to date information, links ect. One can find references page after page on the net about religious demonologist (Dave Considine) by googling you can find dozens of articles about him, his work and research, book / magazine interviews and radio interviews of him, feature film & multiple documentary film work ect. Thank you -64.252.133.118 (talk) 23:25, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. I will notify user GiantSnowman (talk), who proposed it, and who may choose to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute. Paris Lees

Article was deleted due to WP:A1 (insufficient context to identify article subject). I suspect it was talking about this Paris Lees, about whom I'm planning on writing an article. I'd like the article userfied so I can double-check it's about the same person, fix it up, then move it into article space. -—me_and 11:56, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

i don't have any intention of promoting certain party. I was assigned by my lecturer to create a wiki page about an agency. if the content turned to be too "promoting", i am really sorry. however, i follow the format from several similar page which turn out to be fine. I will try to make another one, and if it still contain promotional content please leave it, at least until my lecturer grade it, after that I'll delete it my self. aside from that, can somebody please tell me where did i go wrong? and if possible could I retrieve the content. it would means a lot to me if someone can help me. -AndrewPierre (talk) 14:29, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

That isn't how it works. If a page has been deleted as G11 (blatant advertising) then it would need a fundamental rewrite to be acceptable. Also, only admins can delete pages.
As an aside, have you read WP:Neutral point of view, or really any Wikipedia policies? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:32, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Not done. Promotional material is not restored, and your user page is not the best place to write draft articles. Alison Edmond

Article was deleted by persons with absolutely no knowledge or understanding of the business that said page is relevant to, and deletion supported by people of similar lacking stature. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alison Edmond (talkcontribs) 01:55, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alison Edmond, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Spinningspark (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review.
"Stature" in the world of fashion is not required to assess whether there is evidence of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, which is the question here; your case will be better served by providing such evidence than by attacking other users. I know that you did not write this article yourself, but please also read WP:PSCOI. JohnCD (talk) 10:11, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Template:Nikon MILC cameras

I request the undeletion of this template, which was speedy deleted today on the grounds of not having any transclusions. Actually, there is a thread at Template_talk:Nikon_DSLR_cameras#Formatting where we were discussing various options how to keep the ever growing camera templates manageable and several people supported to split the MILC cameras out of the DSLR template, not only to make room but also because MILCs are no DSLRs. There was no consensus to put the MILCs into the DSLR template, therefore this template was created in preparation of splitting the MILCs out of the other template. It wasn't included in the various camera articles yet as the discussion was not completely finished. -Matthiaspaul (talk) 00:09, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Wikilive

I want to write an article about my wiki project on wikipedia, but one of your admins deleted it because he called it "advertising". I wrote the article academically. The article didn't even last 24 hrs. I don't think "advertising" was an accurate reason for my article's deletion when it wasn't even filled out entirely and I didn't even put a logo in my article. Why do Coca Cola and Chris Brown get their own Wikipedia article but my article gets deleted for advertising? I thought wikipedia was all about being the "good dictator". Can't you be a little more flexible on an open source project? -Hdg89 (talk) 12:59, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) If you intend to tell about your contributions and activities on Wikipedia, your userpage should suffice. There is no need for a separate article to do so. If this article is about a wiki you've created, it may not be notable yet. Also see WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. hmssolent\You rang? ship's log 13:06, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
Not done. Although we don't explain it as well as we should to new users, Wikipedia is not a place for people to tell the world about themselves or their own projects. Coca Cola and Chris Brown have articles because they are notable subjects, i.e. many people have written about them in independent, reliable sources; but they did not write those articles themselves, other people thought they were interesting enough to write about, see for instance this article history. Your new website would not qualify for an article until it had been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, and even then you should leave it to someone uninvolved to write it. Incidentally, there is another "Wikilive", see 1, 2. JohnCD (talk) 20:20, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Not done. Thoughts Academy was not an Articles for Creation submission, it was posted directly as an article, and speedy-deleted as an advertisement. This article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. Wild Games Studio

Speedy deletion as a non-notable company in 2010. But recently this company has generated significant negative buzz ([1], [2], [3]). and may now pass WP:GNG. As such, this article should be restored, with the refs I provided here added; if there are still doubts about notability, a proper WP:AFD should be started. -Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:57, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

The reason why i wish for this page to be undeleted is that even though it has been written by the gallery assistant, we are a non-profit organisation and we do not consider the wikipedia page to be advertising in no way what so ever. We consider the page to be a source of information for future residence artists or tourists visiting the city of Turku. As said, we are a NON-PROFIT organisation so we will not gain ANY financial advantage from having this page on wikipedia. It is purely there for informatic reasons. -Tgassari (talk) 10:11, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Done I restored this and moved it to User:Tgassari/Titanik Gallery. It is at least somewhat promotional as it stands. Before trying to take this live again, you need to rewrite this as a neutral account. Promotion need not be of a commercial or for-profit enterprise, it can be of any organization or concept. Even more important, this page needs citations from independent reliable sources to demonstrate its notability. This means sources that are not affiliated with the project. It also means not blog posts or the like, but published accounts. DES (talk) 19:46, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Article substantiation is underway, e.g. published references, resources from Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (which managing partner is currently President of and arguing against "lawsuit abuse." -Lukelagis (talk) 14:28, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Userfied - the page has been restored to the userspace at User:Lukelagis/Phillips Law Offices. You may work on improving the article's assertion of notability at its new location, but please contact Peridon (talk · contribs), the administrator who deleted the page, before moving it back to the article space. Please see the criteria for speedy deletion and the relevant notability guidelines - articles that are not in compliance will be deleted. What is required is reference showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I would advise truncating or omitting the enormous list of practice areas, which makes it look like an advertisement. to further explain the notability of the subject. It was speedy deleted initially because someone else had begun the article but failed to indicated the notability of the blog (which has been cited in several national publications and magazines) and the blogger (who has contributed to several national publications). I included a handful of those references, but I guess not enough to establish notability. There are several other sources I can add to the entry to improve the notability as well as some clarifying details. -Tyler (talk) 02:31, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

Pan Pantziarka

Pan Pantziarka is now working in the field of Li Fraumeni Syndrome research and advocacy, including proposing a new hypothesis on this rare disease (for example: http://www.oncologynews.biz/pdf/20%20ONJA13/ONJA13_Web.pdf#page=12) Note that there's also a link here to the George Pantziarka TP53 Trust (http://www.tp53.co.uk), which is one of the few public organisations devoted to Li Fraumeni Syndrome. There is also a PubMed paper on research in this area by Pan Pantziarka (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=pantziarka). If the article is undeleted it should be updated to reflect this.

Pan Pantziarka is mentioned in several other articles on wikipedia, which suggests that there is a certain notability here. RENT MY VACATION HOME USA

reasoning -Drjonesesq (talk) 11:37, 26 October 2013 (UTC) The article entitled rent my vacation home USA was wrongly deleted. I have researched the history of this article and found that originally the references used were tied to public relations articles. Since then extensive research was done that found several books that support the article that was published. Without any research and without any further ado or discussion the article was deleted and the new information and references were not even discussed or look At because of the speedy deletion . I went to the help room and tried to discuss the matter to explain that this is an entirely different article with totally different references. Within five minutes the entire article was deleted without discussion without looking into their new references. Please restore the work that I have done as there is no reason whatsoever that this article would be deleted. Furthermore the article being deleted this way with unchecked references smacks of other motives that could be in place. We have to ask ourselves why did this happen and how does this improve Wikipedia? It does not improve Wikipedia and it should not have happened the references are from established books and the company written about is the largest vacation rental network in the United States. Please restore without further ado or litigation the work that was done.

The article was recreated with notable sources in July 2012 as a stub. However I wanted to recreate the article but was not able to find such sources before then also having a big Red Flag of the Speedy Deletion of the previous article in 2008. The Speedy Deletion took place at 18:11, 28 May 2008 by AuburnPilot for the reason: (CSD A7 (Bio): Biographical article that does not assert significance). However some things took place since 2008 that has added to his notability including being imducted into the NFL Hall of Fame and being inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame (the article was recreated at the time of the Royals HoF announcement.) What I am requesting is that the prevoiusly deleted edit history of the article to be restored so I can legally use them per the GFDL and CC-BY-SA 3.0 License to improve the article about George Toma and find sources of those deleted edits. -Sawblade5 (talk to me | my wiki life) 18:44, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Someone requested to delete the redirect page Internet commentator, at that time this page is redirecting to 50 Cent Party. His reason was something like "50 Cent Party is simply just an example of an internet commentator, 'internet commentator' should be written with a worldwide view point", this reason is pretty good, I actually agree with that, thus I completely rewrote the page, making it a disambiguation page, where readers could choose to go to Internet pundit, Internet critic, Internet sports commentator, Internet commentator, or 50 Cent Party (officially called "Internet commentator" by Chinese authority). However, I forgot to go to Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2013 October 18#Internet commentator to discuss. All guys there seem not to be aware of my rewrite, and it was eventually deleted. Westside Barbell

Increased notability since original deletion -75.180.29.69 (talk) 13:19, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

The article on the Westside Barbell club was deleted in 2006 due to non-notability. Since then, the profile of this club and its founder Louie Simmons have considerably increased. Westside Barbell continues to be relevant in top-level powerlifting[1-2] and Louie Simmons' club is now cited as an important influence on other sports, including football,[3] boxing[4] and CrossFit. Wikipedia has several red links to Westside Barbell or Louie Simmons, such as in the bench press and good-morning articles and in the CrossFit article cited above, and an underdeveloped page on the Conjugate method citing Simmons and Westside. A Westside Barbell article could collect the information on 'Westside' methods (conjugate, bands/chains, special exercises and so on) and describe how these have been applied in powerlifting and other sports. Haakon Faste

this article was about a person who was a visiting assistant professor in 2010, not famous enough to warrant a wikipedia page. Since then he has served as Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and now at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, and is becoming a quickly rising star in the interaction design community. -162.225.150.79 (talk) 14:48, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

An Cumann Gaelach, TCD

This article was written for the purposes of informing the world about the Cumann Gaelach Irish Society of Trinity College Dublin. Many societies in Trinty have similar wikipedia pages. There should be no reason as to why this page was deleted in the first place. It stated factual information only about founder members and its purpose in the college. If indeed there is any content within the article that is deemed inappropriate by Wikipedia administrators I will be happy to edit such content out of the article. -Feezleweezle (talk) 16:29, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Not done. Wikipedia's inclusion criterion is called Wikipedia:Notability and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Experience shows (see WP:BRANCH) that local chapters of national organizations are very seldom able to demonstrate notability in their own right, so that they are better covered by a mention in the main article.
Most of the content of the deleted article was detailed lists of every committee member for the last seven years. That might possibly be of interest to the members themselves, or even to other members of the college, but it is of no conceivable interest to the general reader of a global encyclopedia. It is material for your own website. Wikipedia is not a notice-board for organizations, or people, to "inform the world" about themselves.
Before you tell me about other similar articles, read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Unsuitable articles slip through, but that is not a reason for admitting more. JohnCD (talk) 17:41, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Since Feezleweezle is offering to work on improving the article, maybe it can be userfied and moved to a subpage of their account. After all, the problem you cite is that it's not notable but if legitimate sources can be found, it could always be resubmitted. A better article is the goal, right? Liz Read! Talk! 21:23, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
Not done and will not be done No, a better article is not the goal. That would be the goal in the case of a poorly written article on a suitable subject, but not in the case of a purely promotional article on an unsuitable subject. Apart from the fact that the subject is a completely non-notable student society, there is the fact that the article was purely promotional. (The request even says so: we are told that the article existed "for the purposes of informing the world about" the society.) This sort of article belongs on the society's own web site, if it has one, and somewhere like facebook if it hasn't, not in an encyclopaedia. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:25, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Not done. We cannot help you here, because the file was deleted from Commons, a separate organization, as a copyright violation - see this edit You will have to ask there - start with the deleting Commons admin, whose talk page there is at Commons:User talk:High Contrast. Just being credited properly is not enough - the actual copyright holder will need to make a formal release under a free license - see Commons:OTRS. JohnCD (talk) 21:34, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

izumi tabata

request to view article -91.186.225.66 (talk) 20:19, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

The whole text of the article was

"Izumi Tabata is a professor at the College of Sport and Health Science at Ritsumeikan University best known for developing and researching a method of high-intensity interval training known as the Tabata Method (called the "IE1 protocol" by Tabata)."

plus a link to his profile page. JohnCD (talk) 22:51, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
I hope this is not out of place, but Tabata and his method are demonstrably notable: his article on the Tabata method is highly cited (assessed using Google Scholar) and the method itself has been discussed in mainstream media ([4]) and in articles and books about sports training (examples: [5] [6]). On the other hand, Tabata's method is already mentioned in the HIIT article. But it seems to me he is notable enough for a separate article. If you judge this to be the case, I can fill out the article with text and citations to show notability. Thank you. 75.180.29.69 (talk) 01:58, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Yes please, that would be wonderful if you could kindly fill out the article with text and citations. Thanks so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.248.221.254 (talk) 10:33, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Not done There is actually no request for undeletion here, just a request to know what it said, which has been dealt with. As for the follow up remarks, if the subject satisfies Wikipedia's notability guidelines, particularly the general notability guideline and the guideline on notability of people then there is nothing to stop a new article about him from being written. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:10, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
I appreciate the clarification. 75.180.29.69 (talk) 12:40, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Chi Alpha Nu

Chi Alpha Nu is a valid organization (founded in 1927) on the Muskingum University campus. The reason it was deleted is not clear (just says PROD). -152.228.130.195 (talk) 21:32, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Not done ... or, to be more precise, restored following your contesting of the PROD, but immediately deleted again for different reasons. For what it's worth, the PROD reason, which for some reason was not recorded in the deletion log, was "Non-notable single chapter-college club; only source is facebook page; totally fails WP:N and WP:ORG". However, the article clearly qualified for speedy deletion under crtiteria A7 and G11. As a purely promotional article, it is not suitable for undeletion. Thank you

David Z

Note: Currently, David Z is a redirect to David Z (disambiguation).

I'm posting this request to revert the contents of David Z to a previous version that was deleted by an administrator without moving the article to another location. From what it looks like, the previous version of David Z was supposed to be moved to David Z (rock musician) as part of a page move discussion, but it looks like an administrator accidentally deleted David Z instead of moving it, then deleting the redirect that was left over on David Z to free the article name for the move request. Even though I am involved in the previously mentioned move discussion, since that the move discussion has not been closed, I tried to make sure that all related articles and redirects remained where they were until the discussion is closed. Unfortunately, before I realized that the entire article was accidentally deleted, I messed up big time and moved David Z (disambiguation) on top of David Z (I have since reversed this move); due to this, I cannot find the name of the administrator who deleted the previous version of David Z. In a nutshell, this request is to delete the current version of David Z (the redirect), and restore the version of David Z that existed before I carelessly moved David Z (disambiguation) on top of it. -Steel1943 (talk) 02:59, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

  •   Note: I hope this is the right venue for this request. Given the situation, it was the one that made sense to me since a version of the article needs to be undeleted. Steel1943 (talk) 03:31, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Not done There is actually nothing to undelete. The original article David Z was moved to David Zablidowsky on 26 October 2013 by Geo Swan, before the move discussion was started. David Zablidowsky was then turned into a redirect to ZO2. All that was left at David Z was a redirect to ZO2, and that was what was overwritten when you moved David Z (disambiguation). There was also a record in the history of David Z of an earlier redirect to David Zablidowsky, but absolutely no article content has been deleted at all: only redirects. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:54, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for finding David Zablidowsky: that was the missing piece of the puzzle! Given the situation, I did not know of it's existence! Steel1943 (talk) 15:14, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Article was speedily deleted, but sources such as this one and this one indicate she has had at least one starring role and has played significant parts in television and cinema features. Estimation statistics

Page was not a duplication as proposed in the nomination for deletion. I would like to add that estimation statistics is an important subfield of statistics, the details of which are not covered by the estimation theory article that it now re-directs to or any other other wikipedia page completely, the issues are only touched upon in the effect size and meta-analysis pages. The estimation statistics page was substantiated by more than a dozen references to authoritative textbooks and landmark articles in the field of biomedical statistics. -Upisaida (talk) 05:37, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Done I see no good reason for having two articles on this topic, rather than merging the content into one. However, I have reversed the deletion because I do not think that the cited speedy deletion criterion was valid. Criterion A10 is "Recently created article that duplicates an existing topic", and I cannot regard an article nearly five months old as "recently created". JamesBWatson (talk) 12:50, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. I have now edited the page to delineate between estimation theory (a branch of signal processing) and estimation statistics (a branch of frequentist statistics widely used in medical research).-Upisaida (talk) 08:27, 7 November 2013
