Edit of Former power/office(s) held by the Presidents reverted edit

Hello! Good Evening I had brought in some new information about the previous offices held by the respective Presidents of India. This information would help all users in gaining information and knowledge about the career background of the Presidents. This edit was reverted User:DaxServer stating the irrelevance of the information. I do feel that these knowledge would help Indian community to gain more political awareness and understanding. Hence I request that I would re-edit the same relevant information back into the table. Thank you Souryadeep630 (talk) 09:44, 28 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Modi edit

I have undone your revert of my edit. A warning - do not, ever again, accuse me of falsifying a source. And if you'd like to add some more sources (since all you have done is remove perfectly good ones without fixing the problem), feel free to Google "BJP corporate lobbying" or similar things - ensuring of course you use reliable sources and not biased political opinion pieces etc. Black Kite (talk) 12:29, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Black Kite Its nice that you have visited my talk page. 1) Firstly The revert undone is not seen in the article page. 2) The warning is chilling and acceptable thank you but I have stated facts about the sources that was present before reverting. I request you to take another look and revise the source that was reverted. 3) All that which I have done is removing of the citations that are not at all relevant to the information typed adjacent to it. I would definitely Google for any articles if I was the the one typing the information, and the same lies with respected editors like you, 4) Please continue your "unbiased", impartial addition of political information to article pages in Wikipedia. Keep up the good work Cheers, Souryadeep630 (talk) 16:42, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Many apologies. I realised after I'd posted to your page that I'd got this wrong, and I thought I'd removed the above comment from your talk page, but clearly my edit didn't remove it (not sure what happened there). Black Kite (talk) 18:57, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violations edit

You were warned in December 2019 about adding copyrighted material to Wikipedia.[1] As you were told then, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. You recently created the article Justice for the Judge: An Autobiography by copying and pasting from this internet page. You have been blocked for a week for persistent copyright violations. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

What worries me the most is that if you have violated copyright twice (recently in a very egregious way), it seems likely there may have been more in the intervening couple of years. Please note below this post any other articles you have created, or significantly added to, by copying text from the internet, or from a print book, so that we can take care of it. Bishonen | tålk 20:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC).Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I understand that I have used an image from a website and not mentioned the permissions and other requisites. I would like to say that this is the first copyright violation which was totally unintentional in the past 16 months (2 and a half years). I now totally understand the guidelines and pledge that I would not in any instance repeat the mistake anytime in future. I have made around 970 constructive content editings which I love. I strongly assure all administrators and other respective editors that no such mistake would ever be repeated and would accept a permanent blockage if repeated. Hence I sincerely request to revoke the block on my account and unblock the same and oblige. Thank You Souryadeep630 (talk) 11:00, 23 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I'm tempted to extend the block indefinitely. This is not just about the image. You also copied text from here. Why are you falsely claiming this is just about the image? Yamla (talk) 12:07, 23 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Yes, that is a very disingenuous appeal. You created an article by pasting text from a copyrighted site and you call it "totally unintentional"? Please answer Yamla's question or I'll probably indef you myself. There are twelve months in a year, by the way. Bishonen | tålk 12:22, 23 March 2022 (UTC).Reply

Blocked indefinitely edit

I told you above you needed to answer the question about your disingenuous (=untrue) description of your copyright violation, or you'd probably be blocked indefinitely. Instead of answering, you have continued to edit, among other things adding misinformation to Amit Shah[2] (Shah was arrested for his role in a fake encounter killing, not during the emergency) and adding content from a government press release to Basavaraj Bommai in Wikipedia's voice.[3] I'm sorry, but it does not appear that you have the competence to edit in the fraught area of Indian politics. I have blocked you indefinitely. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. Bishonen | tålk 21:41, 24 March 2022 (UTC).Reply

Hi. I accept my mistake and apologize. I was really unaware that copying text from a website wasn't allowed. I have clearly read the guides and policies of Wikipedia and I have totally understood it and is in my memory. Editing and interacting in wikipedia has been one of the strengths in my lonely life. I have done nearly 1000 contributions, and I request you to pardon a couple of mistakes recently done. I pledge my word that this would never ever be repeated and I request for a final chance for editing. I will use all the suggestions and experience I have had in the period of editings I have done. Thus I bring in my sincere request to allow me to contribute more to wikipedia, and keep a radar on me if at all one more mistake from my side, I would accept the punishment. • Souryadeep630, in my opinion it's unacceptable for you to edit in Indian politics. Unfortunately, Indian politics seems to be your only interest on Wikipedia. Are there any other subjects you think you might like to edit? I'd be prepared to lift the block in exchange for a topic ban from Indian politics. Please follow my link and read what a topic ban is, and please be aware that such a ban would basically have disallowed all the editing you have done so far. Violations of topic bans are taken seriously and lead to long blocks. Bishonen | tålk 08:56, 25 March 2022 (UTC).Reply
Yes I do edit entertainment, sports, history and blp articles. There has been a few mistakes from my side which I totally know how not to repeat after reading the guidelines of wikipedia completely. Hence I request your kind self to lift the block, and provide one ultimate chance to contribute. Bishonen Thank you Souryadeep630 (talk) 06:28, 26 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Souryadeep, are you saying you will accept a topic ban from Indian politics in exchange for lifting the block? When you say "history and blp", perhaps I need to be more clear. BLP's on figures related to politics, such as Yogi Adityanath, would be out of bounds, as well as other articles related to political figures, such as List of presidents of India. Note that people can be related to politics without being primarily politicians. For example, Ranjan Gogoi, who is primarily a judge but also a member of the Rajya Sabha, would be out of bounds. You would only be allowed to edit BLPs like Ravindra Jadeja. As for historical articles, arguments about Indian history for political reasons are very common on Wikipedia, and many historical articles see interest that is really more political than historical. You would not be allowed to edit those kinds of articles either, and would be expected to ask an administrator first if you had any doubts about editing a particular article. If you state explicitly below that these things are clear to you and you will abide by them, I will lift your block. Bishonen | tålk 08:32, 26 March 2022 (UTC).Reply
