Proposed deletion of Edin Murga edit

The article Edin Murga has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Proposed deletion of Edin Murga edit

The article Edin Murga has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Replaceable fair use File:Alexandre D'Acol Joaquim.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Alexandre D'Acol Joaquim.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 13:06, 28 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Infobox dates edit

Hi, when updating infobox stats you should update the |ntupdate= or |nationalteam-update= parameter by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Mattythewhite (talk) 06:30, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, can I remind you of this, in case you had not realised the equivalent for club stats is |pcupdate= or |club-update=. Keith D (talk) 20:34, 14 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Petar Popović (basketball, born 1996). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Petar Popović (basketball). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Petar Popović (basketball) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. | Naypta opened his mouth at 15:37, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Zisis Sarikopoulos with AEK.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Zisis Sarikopoulos with AEK.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. File permission problem with File:Faros Keratsiniou B.C.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Faros Keratsiniou B.C.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 19:20, 30 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ioannis Dimakos edit

Hey. It really should be Ioannis Dimakos. Because "Giannis" is not a common name, and it's not a correct spelling anyway. And it's not a case like Giannis Antetokounmpo either, because he does not just have the name Giannis (really should be Yiannis), he has the actual name Ioannis. And this isn't same thing as guidelines for taking Nikolaos to Nikos or Konstantinos to Kostas. So it should be Ioannis.Bluesangrel (talk) 19:48, 2 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Faros team colors edit

Hey. I went here to edit it [1] - after you click on the edit button, scroll down to the Greek League section. It takes awhile to get to it. It starts with NBA teams, then former NBA teams, then D-League teams, then former D-League teams, then WNBA teams, former WNBA teams, then after that you get to Euroleague teams finally. Then after the Euroleague teams you get to Adriatic League teams, then it starts with national domestic league teams in alphabet order. So like there is Angola, then Belgium, and so forth. The Greek teams start at numbers 316-317 with Nea Kifissia (AENK), and end at numbers 343-344 with Faros, after I added it in. It took me awhile to figure out exactly how to edit it, but it's not that hard. I was thinking we probably should add the second division teams, or maybe at least add the teams that used to play in first division, or like the teams that used to play in European cups.Bluesangrel (talk) 22:51, 5 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Greek Basket League stats leaders edit

Just so know, the Greek league uses the total accumulated stats for their stats leaders, and not per game averages. I realize that this is unusual, and almost every other league goes by per game averages, but the Greek league does not do that. It only goes by total accumulated stats.Bluesangrel (talk) 21:55, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Also, as far as I know, the league still counts the regular season and playoffs combined. So we should either say regular season for now, or not list it for overall league leader. For example, in the stats leaders article. Because the league always counted the totals with regular season and playoffs.Bluesangrel (talk) 22:00, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

"All-Tournament team" in basketball infobox edit

Just to let you know, all-tournament team is not an award/honor that goes in the infobox. It's a fairly minor honor and there has been consensus to draw the line at certain types of awards (all-tournament, player of the week/month, preseason awards, etc) to not include them at all. They can be noted in the article if desired. Rikster2 (talk) 17:50, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ranking Index in Greek league is not the official MVP award edit

Okaro White was not selected as the MVP of the Greek League, he just led the league in Index rating, which they call "MVP", like how they do it in Euroleague MVP of the week. But it's not even an actual award that exists. The league all teams and MVP are not even announce until the playoffs of the league end.Bluesangrel (talk) 18:15, 15 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Stats for domestic leagues edit

Hey friend, I just wanted to let you know that the player's stats for domestic leagues are officially counted as regular season and playoffs. So we should probably not add player's stats in domestic leagues, until they finished the playoffs, if their team qualified for it. And it would be too tedious to add the playoff stats separately. Thanks for all your edits also.Bluesangrel (talk) 00:38, 16 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Skoulidas 2016.png edit

A tag has been placed on File:Skoulidas 2016.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of User:85.74.78.218/Edin Murga edit

A tag has been placed on User:85.74.78.218/Edin Murga requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

A blanked page, abandoned three years ago, prior to blanking it contained empty biography fragment, created by named account under an IP userpage, there was a unanimous AFD finding this bio-subject non-notable. Shall go with CSD U2: Nonexistent user? CSD G6: Blank draft? Likely CSDG7: author blanked? (It's hard to imagine an IP finding this page to blank it, unless they were the creator.) CSD G8: Subpages with no parent page? CSD G6: pages unambiguously created in error? So many CSD to choose from!

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Copyright infringement edit

You must review and understand Wikipedia's policies on copyrights and copyright violations before uploading any more images or adding more content. If you fail to understand these guidelines and if you upload or add material that is copyright infringement again, you will be blocked from editing.

Please ask questions if you are not sure, and please do not hesitate to ask me on my talk page if you need any help. Thank you, and I really appreciate your understanding. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:04, 17 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Dinos Kalampakos edit

The article Dinos Kalampakos has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Updating caps and stats edit

Hey. :-)

When you update the stats in football players' infoboxes please remember that you should also update the timestamps as of when the stats are correct. This is done by updating |pcupdate= (or |club-update=) parameter when updating club appearances and goals, or |ntupdate= (or |nationalteam-update=) when updating national team appearances and goals. The easiest way to do this is to use five tildes, which automatically converts to the current time. For example |club-update= 15:46, 28 May 2017 (UTC).

When you update the career statistics please remember that you should also update that timestamp as well to a time when the stats are correct. This is done by manually updating the date above or below the statistics table. By doing this we show when the stats were last updated and it prevents other editors from accidentally updating the stats again. This is done to show other editors when the stats were last updated and prevent them from accidentally updating the stats again, and also it shows readers that it has been updated.

Please keep this in mind. Thank you. Robby.is.on (talk) 15:46, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Moraitis against Paris Lee.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Moraitis against Paris Lee.jpg.

Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for uploading File:Sakota with AEK.jpg, which you've attributed to a Gmail link - only works for the owner!.

Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 16:49, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wesley Gordon (basketball) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Wesley Gordon (basketball), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Promitheas logo.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Promitheas logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned non-free image File:Promitheas logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Promitheas logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:41, 15 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:Nixon in action with Wels.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Nixon in action with Wels.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 17:46, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Nixon in action with Wels.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Nixon in action with Wels.jpg, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content [2], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. (See section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then you should do two things. First, please state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions. Second, please add the relevant copyright tag.
  • The image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. (See section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Nixon with Wells.jpeg edit

If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". PNG photographs edit

Hi, I've noticed that you have numerous photographs uploaded as PNGs. Would you mind replacing these images with the original JPEGs?

When you convert photographs to PNG, either through an image editing software or by screen capture, there's a noticeable loss of quality and you lose useful EXIF camera data. In addition, since Wikipedia doesn't generate thumbnails like it does with JPEGs, images take longer to load. Thank you. Ytoyoda (talk) 14:32, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. May 2021 edit

Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Ángel López Pérez article, but I have found one and added it for you. Please try and remember to include sources yourself with future edits. Please let me know if you have any questions. GiantSnowman 09:58, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Apolon patras new logo.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Apolon patras new logo.jpg.

Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 11 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Giorgos Gkiouzelis edit

Hello, Savvasg21,

Thank you for creating Giorgos Gkiouzelis.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references in order to provide significant coverage for this article. See WP:SIGCOV
References that have scores, lists, order of merit and video do not pass as reliable sources for WP:NSPORT. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - you may wish to read WP:NSPORT ) To meet notability requirements, one more reference with significant coverage will suffice. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Proposed deletion of James Batemon III edit

Hello, Savvasg21

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Bruxton, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, James Batemon III, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Bruxton}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Deletion discussion about James Batemon III edit

Hello, Savvasg21, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Bruxton, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, James Batemon III, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Batemon III.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Bruxton}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Brynton Lemar moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Brynton Lemar, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG. Neither does routine sports coverage.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:52, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
