Ways to improve List of birds of the Bounty Islands edit

Hello, Pvmoutside,

Thank you for creating List of birds of the Bounty Islands.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hello, I saw that you removed the template for references. I see that you have two but there are no inline citations. You present authoritative material in the first sections and they need citations.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Bruxton}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Bruxton (talk) 14:40, 19 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

as you pointed out, the article is referenced, but not in-line. If you use the correct tag, I'll leave it.. Pvmoutside (talk) 15:11, 19 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of List of birds of the Bounty Islands edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on List of birds of the Bounty Islands requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/checklist.jsp?region=NZbo and https://copyvios.toolforge.org/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=List+of+birds+of+the+Bounty+Islands&oldid=&action=search&use_engine=1&use_links=1&turnitin=0. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ✍A.WagnerC (talk) 20:37, 19 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Snake Stubs edit

Hi,

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. You currently appear to be engaged in the mass creation of articles on snakes. Such mass creation can be disruptive, and if you wish to continue creating large quantities of short, similar articles on this topic (or any topic) you should first see if there is a consensus to do so, or if the community would prefer this content be provided in a different manner.

Against 'primarily'? edit

Excuse me, and pardon the interruption, but why are you against the word 'primarily' on a school of higher education (i.e.: university or college or institute or community college or junior college)? By any chance do you have an alternate way to describe a word to represent that school of higher education in order for that school to classify its athletic conference as its primary home (especially in a basketball and football standpoint)?

For example:

Lemme know your thoughts. Thanks. jlog3000 (talk) 18:17, 14 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

The only places I'm deleting the word "primarily" are in those schools where they only have the one conference where they are represented....Pvmoutside (talk) 21:25, 14 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I can understand why the motive on your behalf. But is there another way for me to describe how a school is a main member of one particular conference for either the majority of sports or all the sports of its athletics program to an extent? And it's generally speaking, might I add. jlog3000 (talk) 21:35, 14 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
the word "primarilly" works in those cases....Pvmoutside (talk) 21:44, 14 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Mass creation of stubs on birds edit

Hi,

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. You currently appear to be engaged in the mass creation of articles on birds. Such mass creation can be disruptive, and if you wish to continue creating large quantities of short, similar articles on this topic (or any topic) you should first see if there is a consensus to do so, either at WP:VPR or WP:BOTN; it is possible that the community would prefer this content be provided in a different manner than in a series of small, standalone articles.

Corallus hortulanus article name change edit

Hi,

I noticed that in 2019, you changed the name of the article concerning Amazon Tree Boas from Corallus hortulanus to Corallus hortulana. The Intregated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS) as well as most internet references still reflect the name as Corallus hortulanus so I was wondering why the change was made.

Thanks, Sean B. Kearney 10:53, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

The Reptile database, which updates on a quarterly basis, updated the species to Corallus hortulana. ITIS takes a long time to update.Pvmoutside (talk) 12:52, 30 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Boinae edit

I notice you were the last person to edit the Boinae article before the edits I just made. ITIS does not appear to recognized this classification. Could you please take a look? — BarrelProof (talk) 06:31, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

ITIS takes a while to make changes. Reptile Database is much more prompt.Pvmoutside (talk) 13:45, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

About the species listed in Xenoxybelis edit

Hi, vmoutside.

It would appear to me that Xenoxybelis argenteus is a synonym of Philodryas argentea (neither which have en.wp articles).

GBIF - Xenoxybelis argenteus (Daudin, 1803) - "(Daudin, 1803)" - disagrees.

Your thoughts about this? User:Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 11:26, 16 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

It looks like the Reptile Database has it under Xenoxybelis. The GBIF also has it under Xenoxybelis....Pvmoutside (talk) 16:21, 16 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
