Speedy deletion nomination of Siddhartha Chowk edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Siddhartha Chowk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -KAP03 (Talk • Contributions • Email) 06:12, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lakeside, Pokhara, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gandaki (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Navigation edit

Hallo, Thank you for creating Rapti, Dang . When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name, by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find your article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one. Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 22:09, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stub tags and categories edit

Thank you for creating so many articles about places in Nepal, but please now stop and learn about categories and stub tags, then go back and correct the articles you have created.

Looking at Babai, Dang in the state you created it:

 1. You added Category:Province No. 5, Nepal geography stubs. That's wrong, stub categories should never be added directly. Please add Province5NP-geo-stub, which adds the category and also creates the visible footnote at the bottom of the page. As you can see, another editor later added stub because they could see that the article didn't have a stub footnote.
 2. You added Category:Dang district. This is the category for a district in India. You should have added Category:Dang District, Nepal ...
 3. ... but really you should have added Category:Populated places in Dang District, Nepal
 4. And you should not add Category:Province No. 5 because that is a "parent category" of the Dang category, and there are only a few special cases where we add a parent category as well as the most precise category.

There is a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, but it is an interesting journey. Best wishes and Happy Editing.

Looking at a random earlier article you created, Lamachaur, Pokhara, I'm sorry but I find even more problems:

 • It looks as if you have used subst to expand what should appear as Pokhara-geo-stub and Pokhara, the stub template and the "Navbox". These should not be substituted, as that means that if a change is later made to the template it would not be picked up in this article.
No, more complicated; it looks as if you have added the "navbox" as a chunk of code, not as a template, because Pokhara does not exist. Or rather, did not exist, because I have now created it as a navbox template. The idea of a template is that it is a standard piece of code, outside the individual articles, which can be re-used in many articles, and can be updated just the once to affect the way it appears in all of those articles. Please go back and use the template wherever you have added the code instead.

I have fixed both problems in this article: please go back over your work and fix the other articles where you have got things wrong. Thanks. PamD 23:03, 8 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please slow down a bit edit

You know you are working too fast when you create two articles on the same topic in less than 50 mins and don't even notice (Mayadevi Rural Municipality, 23:55, 8 July; Mayadevi, Rupandehi, 00:39, 9 July; befuddling still that the two don't agree on coord, area or population). I don't want to nitpick further but you'll see you've introduced a multitude of careless errors in your articles (mostly by failing to update all the parts of the template you are using). Please stop creating new ones, and take a day or two to review corrections I (and others) have made to your existing articles and fix them all. Don't get me wrong, your contributions are very much appreciated; it just seems to be taking as long or longer than it does for you to create the articles themselves, to fix the errors that you should not be making in the first place, by which I mean the kind of errors that have nothing to do with the Wikipedia learning curve. Please do not hesitate to ask about corrections you do not understand or anything else at all. I'd be happy to try and help with anything you might have questions about. Best Regards! Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:24, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

By "template", I mean the one you are using to create the articles, not the Wikipedia templates of "Template:" namespace that is used in them. Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:38, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lakeside, Pokhara edit

Having a quick look at this, problems include:

 • Inaccuracy: "located in Pokhara, the capital of Nepal. Really?
 • Spelling: "Boundries of Lakside" for a start
 • Over-linking: don't link Nepal every time it is mentioned. Indeed as a major geographical entity it needn't be linked at all. See WP:OVERLINK
 • Headings: "Major Attraction" should be "Major attractions" - plural, no capitals beyond start
 • Categories: you listed:

As has already been explained to you,
 • Never add a stub category directly, like Category:Pokhara geography stubs
 • Do not add a "parent" category which includes the smaller one: so don't add "Nepal", "Gandaki Pradesh" or "Kaski District" because "Pokhara" is included within both of those.
 • Lakeside does not seem to be a Ward, so don't add that category
 • The WikiProject category is not added to individual pages - you need to add WikiProject Nepal to the talk page.
 • I could find more to comment on but ...
 • I've just now realised that Category:Places of Pokhara is yet another category created by you but not added to any parent category. Please stop creating categories until you understand how they work. You have created a lot of work for other editors to tidy up. If this continues you will be reported to ANI to consider blocking you to save the encyclopedia from your editing. I can see that you mean well, but you seem unwilling to listen to and learn from the advice you are given. PamD 07:44, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I got it, thank you very much. I really appreciate your help. I have made all changes. (Nd12052010 02:05, 11 July 2020 (UTC))Reply

Ok, let's take it slow; talk one at a time. To start, the listed as major attractions are scattered all over Pokhara; how are they attractions of Lakeside? Usedtobecool ☎️ 04:28, 11 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Taking about Major attractions Fewa Lake, Tal Barai temple and Basundhara park located at lakeside, but other places like Sarankot, Shanti Stupa David's fall and Gupteshwor cave are near by. (Nd12052010 08:37, 11 July 2020 (UTC))Reply

The places that are "near by" are actually in Pokhara, but most definitely not in Lakeside, Pokhara, is that not so? And we just so happen to have an article on Pokhara. So, obviously, we have a problem of WP:SCOPE. I don't know where Basundhara Park is and I don't intend to investigate, but putting Fewa lake and Tal Barahi Temple within Lakeside is contradictory to your own article, because it says Lakeside is bounded by Fewa lake, meaning Fewa lake is not inside Lakeside. We also have the article, Phewa Lake, in which to write about Fewa lake, and Talbarahi Temple would be an attraction of Fewa lake. Similarly Fewa lake and Lakeside would be places in Pokhara. What you've done is akin to listing Darjeeling as an attraction of Nepal; it is nearby and it is strongly connected to Nepal but it is not a place in Nepal or an attraction of Nepal.
The whole idea of "attractions" in itself is hardly encyclopedic. The article currently looks like a tourism brochure, giving tourist destinations nearby, transportation facilities, internet service providers, shops and restaurants. That is not at all what an encyclopedic article should be about. Please carefully consider what the scope of the article should be, and which of the aspects of Lakeside are going to be of lasting importance and interest (knowledge worth knowing; WP:NOTEVERYTHING). A list of ISPs is most definitely not one of those things. Usedtobecool ☎️ 09:34, 11 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Google doesn't show articles that have not been formally approved by more experienced/trusted editors. See WP:NPP. If no one approves or deletes an article, it will start to show after 90 days from the date of creation. Since you don't know what NPP is, I suggest you withdraw your request for the "new page reviewer" right that you just made. You are not quite there yet, and trying to get it before you are ready is likely to hurt your chances of getting it easily when you do become ready. In my previous message, I meant about the repeated moves that you were doing with that article. Were you trying to see if it shows up in google when it is in "Wikipedia:" or "Draft:" space? Regards! Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Nd12052010, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

 • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
 • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
 • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
 • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
 • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
 • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:20, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
