After replying to your comment at WQA, please let me respond point by point, since you appear to not have read most or any of my comments.

you reverted a reversion without discussion on the article talk page -- I did. I had acknowledged that before you posted your comment and I have admitted that it was wrong. The only excuse I can offer is that I was irritated with Xeworlebi's lack of grammar and formatting knowledge, and then with his automatic assumption that he was right to restore the period to that caption (when he clearly wasn't right).

used an offensive to some phrase "Jesus H Christ" in your edit summary -- "to some" meaning you, and nobody else. Nobody of the others was "offended" at all, it appears, since you're the first one to even note it.

You were edit warring. -- So was Xeworlebi. And imho it does matter that my edit was, in fact, correct. Also, Xeworlebi kept reverting even after being informed of the proper reasoning.

Xeworlebi has let your last edit stand. -- lolwut Excuse me? I politely informed him of the facts, asking him to revert his last revert himself. He didn't "let my last edit stand". What he did was contradict himself. He removed my comment as "nonsense", yet he knew that my edit was correct. He should have reverted his own last revert, which he simply refused to, which then led me to decide to apply it myself, and then he slapped me with a 3RR warning.

Please be more careful

Two of the users who responded (including you) to that WQA suggested RfC/U; that is why I noted that in my initial close which was about the only point of agreement. The rest of the dispute was stuck on the merits. Since then, the subject pointed out that the diffs are stale (something which really should have been noted to begin with); that's about the only other point of agreement between the parties. Your advice to the parties other than that seemed OK, but it was not helpful to:

1. insert the poor choice of words, "retaliatory WQA", which has since been reasonably disputed by the filer in terms of accuracy (particularly after the subject made out it was intentional), and
2. insert the tag NWQA for a conduct issue and style of rhetoric which very much falls within the scope of WQA.

These two bulleted points don't promote any form of resolution; they provoke escalation. While I could probably also leave a comment about removing the very signature you were requesting, that isn't at the top of our priorities in the larger scheme of things. Good faith efforts to discuss things with me

Hi

On the wikialert you said that bigk had made good faith efforts to discuss with me. I just cannot see it. Are you able to show me what led you to form that view of the situation?

All he has done without interacting with a discussion point, is say the view is fringe and demand he be satisfied with more citations.

All i have is his opinion he knows better versus my quality citations.

I am really struggling to believe that wiki is a genuine organisation. Surely editors should discuss changes rather than just delete changes and say they are fringe?

And he said twice my edits were obfuscation. He is saying loud and clear that i am deceptive and i call him silly which is pretty tame and i get the warning?? You said he should tone down his comments and he has just come back to say i am unable to demonstrate that he needs to tone down his comments so once again accusing me of dishonesty.

To my way of thinking, Wiki seems like a madhouse. It seems like a rigged game.

I think that this is ripe for closing. From my experience, AfDs generally get closed in the normal 7 day timeframe - this one's clearly hung around because of the lack of NPOV 'votes' and general argy-bargy. My question to you comes from a very out of practice wikieditor - could you suggest the appropriate place for me to request a close, one way or the other? Forgive me but the user (wbby) was asking fir an unblock in exchange for obeying the rules. I asked would he obey the rules if he was refused, a question he declined to answer. But answered in a way that implied he might not. So I asked for claification (twice I beleive). I then responded to his comment about AGF (explaining why I felt I did not breach AGF). How was I poking him? By asking him questions about his actions? As to my oterh posts ther, a couple were aditional clauses that he agreed were vadlid (harley poking is it if he agrees with it). and a question to admins about can these evern be enacted. Could you explain how any of this was baiting? The talk page of a blocked user is a sensitive area, and it's best to avoid posting there unless you are performing an official function or offering support. Hold on, he refuses to agree not to breach the rules and its not in the projects interest to verify that? Sorry but as the user was claiming that they could act like an adult I feel that pointing out they were not was valid, I may have been worng (but given latter commetns not even in reply to me I doubt that, he was clearly just wikilayering). Indead you say I was baiting the user, well I was reponding to a comment about spelling and grammer that was both insulting and offensive (a feature of their 'honesty'), and a boarderline PA (based on tone). I suppose I should have droped it, but supprsingly was tryiing to actualy not go too far (and I would also point out I also decided to drop the matter, if any one was being baited it was me). I just took a nosey at your old userbox layout, and notice you were in the US Navy. If you're looking for something good on Wiki, and I mean in terms of finding nice articles to read, rather than areas to contribute to, check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Operation Majestic Titan, which is one of the more successful sub-projects on Wikipedia. I don't do ships myself, but the guys involved in this operation are highly dedicated to their interest, and have a good collaborative effort, so you might enjoy perusing through the articles, many of which are of GA or FA quality with a lot of archive photos used. Your comment on my talk page

I answered on my talk page. But I did not intersperse my comment in the middle of another's as you say. If you look at the comment[6] you will see that the comment of the other editor was signed. Then I added my comment. It did not break up his comment in the middle. The fact that he added a second comment is irrelevant, as the second comment was not the one I was addressing. Are you suggesting that I add my response at the bottom of the page, after many others have commented. If so, then I would have to copy his comment, so that it would be clear what my comment was in response to. Is that what you think I should have do?

I quit editing Wikipedia for almost a year after dealing with uncivil editors and non-stop obstructionists and on one page the incivility was harsh and Jimmy W was on that talk page and said nothing. I honestly wouldn't waste my time with it if I were you. You know what happens when you take pure concentrated juice and keep watering it down more and more..? Answer: it becomes weak, and eventually it tastes like piss. Not only is the matter so watered down now that it's almost completely fruitless and not worthy of Wiki's time, but members on either side of the argument seem glad to keep the tap running and either make a monster or martyr of Malleus from the sidelines. Even the Nuremberg Trials weren't as farcical. Over 2 words: cunt and civility. It's no more complex than that, except that some people want to make it appear to have more levels. Malleus and friends to water it down into a circus to make Wiki look ridiculous in his favour.. and his detractors who want to turn it into bullshit soup.. with lumps. Personally, I'd rather be a cunt than part of the "one glorious [w]hole" fermenting on Arbcom, which in 6 months will have had either one of two results: a) Malleus will be banned (temp or indef) and nothing more will be said once people move on, or b) Malleus won't be banned and nothing will result and no lessons will be learned. Unless all this crap over civility and swearing leads to reforms in community guidelines, to prevent abuse by editors and/or admins, it's not worth you're getting stressed over. Nobody on Wiki deserves that much special attention for the sake of others getting stressed and involved in some form of Wiki-politics debate that divides the community over a four letter word. I don't see how people can ever take writing for Wiki seriously if such things are the highlight of their day. Not yourself.. but certainly others looking to raise their status by pushing their inflated egos (oft coupled with a dull persona) into the machine. I'm gonna do what any good civilian does: Watch the battle, then go loot the corpses! I advise you chill and don't take it too seriously.. in a few years, who's going to remember anyway.. let alone care? Personally I think Malleus would make a bad martyr.. and an even worse monster. I just wanted to drop a note to say that I was gone when the Malleus situation happened and with the holidays haven't had the time, or honestly the inclination, to dig through the diffs to figure out the sequence of events. These were never presented at the Request of Arbitration either, so it's been a little mystifying. Anyway, thanks for laying out the sequence in way the is easily followed. It's helpful. Seems redundant to sign a section with my (new) name? Username was changed 14 December -- took me awhile to figure out what I "Wikipedia" moniker should be. Figured I'd do the dual signature thing until the end of the year -- the kinds of disreputable Wikipedia places I hang out, someone would probably SPI me if I didn't! Hi Nobody Ent, You'll probably not remember me, but you helped me out a couple of months ago on a wikiquette assistance issue (I think you had your user name as Gerardw back then). Your advice back then has been very valuable to myself personally, and I have worked hard to do my best on Wikipedia - even to the extent of tracking down vandals and keeping an eagle eye on them, reporting if necessary.
