FQ blockEdit

[1] It's been a while since I've seen the FQ blocknotice used - thanks for reminding me, it deserves to be used more. Acroterion (talk) 11:53, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

I love it. Absolutely made my day.--WaltCip (talk) 11:58, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

She was my role model back in the day. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to use it again. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:24, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

Wow! I used to love FisherQueen's own templated user talk page messages, but I had practically forgotten them until I saw this edit at User talk:Coherbia. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:40, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

Oh! I've just seen the section above, and I see I'm not the only one. JamesBWatson (talk) 10:42, 9 May 2019 (UTC)

Kern, AlaskaEdit

Do you have any thoughts on this: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kern, Alaska? Part of me doesn't want to see it go, but part of me is also highly suspect of the content. - Scarpy (talk) 03:09, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Kern says it was a flag stop on the railroad, not a settlement or a terminus of the railroad, named after the creek. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:42, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Joël (Musical Artist) - Discussion about re-instatingEdit

The page I created for Joël (Musical Artist) was removed a couple months ago. I haven't been on Wikipedia lately so I'm just seeing now. The discussion page about this (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joël (Musical Artist)) is now archived. I now have additional references from about releases from 2017. He is working on a new album with Colin Munroe (which will be referenced by a new Complex article). I would like to re-instate this page with the additional content. As one user said (without this new additional content) "The references from reliable sources are enough to pass WP:GNG" I believe that the additional content is enough to show this is not a WP:GARAGEBAND - Webgeek007 (talk) 16:56, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Well, since I noted it was to be considered a "soft" delete i can't really say no. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:23, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Done. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:25, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Topsy and Tim TV seriesEdit

Hi, just to let you know I did some work on List of Topsy and Tim episodes and removed your cleanup template. Please check if this is OK. Cheers, Rodney Baggins (talk) 10:28, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Personal Particulars in WikipediaEdit

I hereby write in a reply to the talk in which you have placed on my page.

The person in question is the actual party who's harassing people by vandalising legitimate Wikipedia articles and whilst his IP may have been banned,he can still come back and do more damage.

I believe more action should be done to control people such as this.

Basically, if you don't know what's going on, please ask before intervening, unless it's a high profile page. NatIsrael972 (talk) 00:47, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Well, I'll tell you that I've been an administrator here for over a decade and I am very familiar with the outing policy, and my message to you stands. Beeblebrox (talk) 06:16, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for the work you do around Wikipedia especially as I know that being a functionary can be a particularly challenging and thankless position at times. I appreciate how you're willing to discuss issues with a wide range of editors and do so thoughtfully and in good cheer. I also appreciate your willingness to call a spade a spade, all the while continuing to be civil and promote collaboration and collegiality. While this is a general thank you, it was spurred on by the good faith you showed at the talk page for the Rama case decision. Thanks for all that you do. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 18:47, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

Well thanks, I appreciate that. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:06, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

  Guideline and policy news

  • An RfC seeks to clarify whether WP:OUTING should include information on just the English Wikipedia or any Wikimedia project.
  • An RfC on WT:RfA concluded that Requests for adminship and bureaucratship are discussions seeking to build consensus.
  • An RfC proposal to make the templates for discussion (TfD) process more like the requested moves (RM) process, i.e. "as a clearinghouse of template discussions", was closed as successful.

  Technical news

  • The CSD feature of Twinkle now allows admins to notify page creators of deletion if the page had not been tagged. The default behavior matches that of tagging notifications, and replaces the ability to open the user talk page upon deletion. You can customize which criteria receive notifications in your Twinkle preferences: look for Notify page creator when deleting under these criteria.
  • Twinkle's d-batch (batch delete) feature now supports deleting subpages (and related redirects and talk pages) of each page. The pages will be listed first but use with caution! The und-batch (batch undelete) option can now also restore talk pages.

June 2019Edit

By my authority as Chairperson of the People's Congress of Wikipedia for the Five Pillars and instruction from the same, you are hereby officially trouted for extremely slow wheelwarring. However, we ran out of trout, so we will be using this minnow instead.

Additionally, you are fined 5 millijimbos. Additional measures will be taken against you in the future for this severely grave offense.

Glory to Wikipedia and the Five Pillars, [FBDB]MJLTalk 01:54, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

I will take this dire warning with the extremely high level of seriousness it demands. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:50, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
