Ironboy, being a Paksitani American, you should at least look at the facts and not make them up. The fact is that Pakistan is broke because of the policies of this man. Question edit

Any particular reason that you did this? →javért stargaze 01:43, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's fine, but in the future, just remove the rating and don't blank the entire page. Thanks, →javért stargaze 01:50, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
In the WikiProject template, just remove the rating from the class section (i.e. change "class=start" to "class="). As to translating, the best suggestion that I could give you would be to use Google translate for anything that you don't speak natively. Hope this helps. →javért stargaze 01:57, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

N. M. Butt edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of N. M. Butt, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Noor Muhammad Butt. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan and weapons of mass destruction - infobox edit

I don't understand why you keep changing "25-36 kT" to "25-40". The source clearly states 25-36, do you have a good source for 25-40? I know its only a small difference, but we should keep the article as accurate as possible.--Hj108 (talk) 13:42, 27 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Category:CERN officials edit

Hi, I've reverted your addition of Otto Rossler as a CERN official and looking down the list, I'm wondering what is the basis for the members of this category, and what is defined as a CERN official, as looking down this list half of them aren't part of CERN. Regards Khukri 10:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Could you get in touch urgently regarding this category. There is only one 'official' per se at CERN who is the DG who is selected by the council, and there is already a category for these people. The category I think should be renamed to something to just show people who have been involved with CERN, as most of them on the list aren't what are known as 'functionnaires' or employed by CERN. Let me know your thoughts, if not I can run AWB through the category and temporarily remove them all until a compromise is found. Best regards. Khukri 06:52, 21 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi, A couple of your edits have already been reverted, and I have reverted the rest of the categories. Looking down the names it includes those working at CERN, those who are currently there in a 'User' capacity, those who have visited CERN in the past, and those who are actively campaigning against CERN. None of this constitutes grouping them together as an official of CERN, as the majority of them clearly aren't. If they have been involved with CERN then the CERN category would suffice as per the Director Generals, and eminent physicists like John Ellis etc. If you disagree you can challenge this deletion here, and we can maybe look at thisro approach it from a different angle adding them to the CERN category itself, but the liaison should be more than a fleeting one i.e. that they worked there in the 1970's with no notability. Fair use rationale for File:W.J.M.Turowicz1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:W.J.M.Turowicz1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? feydey (talk) 12:40, 29 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

File copyright problem with File:Dr -Muneer-Ahmad-Khan.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Dr -Muneer-Ahmad-Khan.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:35, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:CorpofEngineers.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:CorpofEngineers.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You are now a Reviewer edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:48, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:ACM Rao Qamar Suleman.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:ACM Rao Qamar Suleman.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for uploading File:Admiral.MohammadShariff.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Replaceable fair use File:Gen.Mahmud Ahmed.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gen.Mahmud Ahmed.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 19:57, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Gen.Hamidgul.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Gen.Hamidgul.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

This is a copyrighted work and the subject is alive, under no circumstances can it fall under fair use

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. June 2011 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Pakistan Navy. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Note: You been warned by others before, why are you still not using the edit summary??? The next time you make the same mistake again, don't say that I didn't give you any chance to make amendments, so consider this your last and final warning! Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 08:25, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Note: Your long list of warnings for Copyright offences in the sections above is something of a worrying trend and as with the other warning above, you are to take this as your last and final warning. I'm not going to warn you again. Either you start to clean up your act or you ship out. Don't waste our time. Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 08:36, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Admiral.gif edit

A tag has been placed on File:Admiral.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Proposed deletion of Amer Iqbal edit

The article Amer Iqbal has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Page move edit

Hi. You accidentally moved Pakistani missile research and development programme to a rather novel spelling. I have no interest in the move itself and whether it was right or wrong, but I have moved it on to a less you-centred version of the country name! :) Hope this helps, with best wishes, DBaK (talk) 08:44, 28 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I thought my help in sorting out your error and tidying up its aftermath probably deserved the courtesy of a reply; obviously you did not. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 08:10, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 edit

Your grounds for reverting my recent edits are incorrect. I have reverted your reversion. The rationale for reverting your edits has been added on Talk:Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Please discuss the disputed edits there instead of reverting once again. As such I dispute those particular edits so please provide superior logic backed by references and get a consensus for your edits before repeating them in articlespace. Replaceable fair use File:AirmarshalH.U.Khan.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:AirmarshalH.U.Khan.jpg.

Thank you. Fut.Perf. 12:05, 11 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

August 2011 edit

This is your only warning; if you move a page maliciously again, as you did at Pakistani missile research and development program, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.--Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 07:12, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copyright block edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. No original research please! edit

This is your last warning. The next time you violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by inserting unpublished information or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. • @Ironboy11: I have warned you many times before but you're still doing things that violates Wikipedia's editing guidelines/policy thinking that it doesn't apply to you. Well, hear this... if you ever again add your own personal opinion and try to lie to us by faking it with any lousy citation sources, you will be BLOCKED when we checked them personally and confirmed them to be lies/hoax. I think I speak for the rest of us when I say this, I have had enough of your nonsense. It's either you shape up or you ship out! --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 11:22, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copyright block edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you wish to resume editing, it may be necessary for you to demonstrate your understanding of these policies and reassure the community of your willingness to comply. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:43, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
You must stop violating Wikipedia's copyright policies. Please read Wikipedia:Copy-paste. For instance, on 4 October, you placed the following into the article Pokhran-II:

Hoodbhoy argued that Pakistan was initially reluctant to test its own weapons for fear of international sanctions. But foolish taunts, statements, and open threats by senior Indian BJP leaders such as Indian Minister for Home Affairs L.K. Advani and Indian Defence Minister George Fernandes forced Pakistan over the edge that same month, a fact that India now surely regrets.

The source says:

Pakistan was initially reluctant to test its own weapons for fear of international sanctions. Much soul-searching followed. But foolish taunts and threats by Indian leaders such as L K Advani and George Fernandes forced Pakistan over the edge that same month, a fact that India now surely regrets.

Preceding this text with the words "Hoodbhoy argued" does not make the content permissible under our policies.

Your edits to that article are being reverted, and I am checking to see if we need to conduct a general investigation of your other edits for copyright concerns. At this point, this seems likely. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:43, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The article Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers has been blanked for copyright investigation, as it seems to include content copied from official sources dating back to your creation of the article. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:00, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
In addition to these articles, I have now detected copied content in Mubashir Hassan and Mujaddid Ahmad Ijaz, both of which are blanked, and I have tagged both images you've uploaded on Commons for deletion, as they certainly were not created by you. I think at this point we must assume that there are substantial issues with many of your contributions. Accordingly I am opening Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Ironboy11 to organization an evaluation. Articles that are found to contain copied text may need to be deleted, if they are not rewritten. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:23, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Looking at your articles in this list, it seems to me that you are making an effort to work within these policies. While many of your early articles seem to be blatant copyright problems, your more recent work seems to show more intention to put content into your own words. I would be inclined to unblock you, particularly to give you an opportunity to help repair some of these earlier issues, if you can read through Wikipedia:Copy-paste and the documents linked and indicate some understanding of the requirements there. You are obviously dedicated to improving coverage in this area, and it would be a shame to lose you as a contributor, but we really must have reassurance that you understand the requirements for using information from other sources. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:55, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 19:53, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Haroon-ul-Islam.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Haroon-ul-Islam.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:00, 25 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pakistan Amateur Astronomers Society edit

The article Pakistan Amateur Astronomers Society has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG, is a non notable amateur society.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:02, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
