Welcome again. Just something you should know, but article talk pages are for discussing improvements to the article, not general discussion about the topic. Also, M-231 isn't going to be a freeway, at least not for many years. It's being built as a two-lane highway with a single bridge over the Grand River only. Page moves edit

You really shouldn't have moved those pages around.

  1. WP:TWODABS, there is no need to create Emergency detour route as a disambiguation page. The hatnotes from before handled the situation just fine.
  2. The capitalization differences between "Emergency Detour Route" and "Emergency detour route" can handle any disambiguation between a specific proper noun (the title of a specific kind of roadway in Ontario) and a common noun that you're using as an alternate for "permanently signed detour route". Because of that, we don't need to tack "(Ontario)" on to the proper noun/capitalized title.
  3. Page title changes of this sort are going to be controversial, so you should have opened a WP:RM or a general discussion about the titles beforehand.

While we encourage people to be bold, sometimes you should pause to consider if an action may be controversial, and if so, you should open a discussion first. Imzadi 1979  02:37, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Emergency Detour Route edit

A tag has been placed on Emergency Detour Route requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Audio program edit

Hello Highway 231,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Audio program for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

Disambiguation page OOIOO edit

Hello. I see that you've changed the page into a disambiguation page, but creating a disambiguation entry for 'The 5-bit code for the middle finger' looks unnecessary, especially when a google search on the topic doesn't provide any notable results. Please create disambiguation pages only when the entries are adequately notable. The OOIOO (band) should be moved back to the topic, so I'm going to request the move, if there are no disagreements. If you have any questions or comments, you can leave a message on my talk page. Thanks. KJ «Click Here» 01:53, 15 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your bold move of OOIOO has been reverted because an editor has found it to be controversial. Per Wikipedia:Requested moves, a move request must be placed on the article's talk page, and the request be open for discussion for seven days, "if there is any reason to believe a move would be contested". If you believe that this move is appropriate, please initiate such a discussion. Please note that moving a page with a longstanding title and/or a large number of incoming links is more likely to be considered controversial, and may be contested.
