Xenia Tchoumitcheva edit

Hallo, i am a Swiss user of Wikipedia - could you please nominate for deletion Xenia Tchoumitcheva? The article is written like an advertisement and the person is not notable. The original creator of the article was banned from Wikipedia. Thank you Maurizio —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.15.112.70 (talk) 09:48, 26 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

2010 Porsche Panamera deletion edit

Why delete it? It is a promotional picture by Porsche released on the internet for free public domain use. Let me clue you in on a little secret, images like these, although the manufacturer may hold the license, they willingly and freely allow anyone use so long as it isn't for profit, which Wikipedia doesn't do. So again, why delete it?

License tagging for File:Royal Picardy.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Royal Picardy.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:08, 22 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:Peugeot 3008.jpg) edit

You've uploaded File:Peugeot 3008.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Charles Kennel edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Charles Kennel, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.galcit.caltech.edu/space50/program/speakers/KennelC.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Charles Kennel edit

A tag has been placed on Charles Kennel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Araya (musician) edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Araya (musician), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

non-notable

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.  Misarxist 05:48, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Mercedes-GLK-3.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mercedes-GLK-3.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Alexander Gerst edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Alexander Gerst. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alexander Gerst. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 21:43, 24 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Astronaut definition edit

  • Definition from our own article: Quote: "An astronaut or cosmonaut is a person trained by a human spaceflight program to command, pilot, or serve as a crew member of a spacecraft. "
  • Definition from NASA: "An astronaut is a person who pilots a spacecraft or works in space, particularly in the space program of the United States."

As far as your source, it is referring to the DoD's 1960s policy: "The term astronaut also has a meaning that is not connected with NASA activities. In the 1960's, the United States Department of Defense awarded the rating of astronaut to military and civilian pilots who flew aircraft higher than 50 miles (80 kilometers). Seven test pilots received this rating for flights in the X-15 rocket plane. Flights of the X-15 ended in 1968". This is not something done today for anyone who reaches "orbit". Just because someone has entered "orbit" does not automatically make them an astronaut. It is a profession, not a designation. Ansari is not a pilot, nor a trained astronaut; she served no official function, had no duties, and had no responsibilities during her flight. She was simply on the flight as a paying citizen, thus, she does not fit the criteria for the categories of astronaut. ArielGold 20:35, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

She trained as a spaceflight participant. The training is not astronaut training, it is emergency training, and basic familiarization with Soyuz equipment in the case of emergency. It does not make her an astronaut, and is no way the same as astronaut training. She does not call herself an astronaut or consider herself to be one. ArielGold 22:46, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I gave you the URLs that show she was not trained as an astronaut. (spaceflight participant training is not the same as astronaut training) A paid participant is not considered an astronaut by RSA or by NASA, in any way, shape or form. Her article has references to support this. Read where she calls herself a "participant" in the ref in her article. Honestly, I cannot see why you would have an issue with this, an astronaut is a profession, not a designation given automatically to anyone who goes into space. She's not an astronaut. I am not reverting for the sake of it, we NEED 100% reliable facts (the fact that wikipedia is littered with unreliable sources is no excuse). We have no idea where they plucked that surname from, for all we know they got it from a tabloid/tea lady/made it up, but equally they could have got got from an official source that we haven't seen yet. There is a very good chance that her surname is Brooke, in fact I'd put money on it, but unless the BBC, RTD or other equally reliable source states that fact, we have to consider that it could be inaccurate. magnius (talk) 17:40, 9 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

River Song edit

In filming of 2010 season, the character played by Alex Kingston is obviously River Song, since the wreckage of the Byzantium can be seen in some of the pictures. However, I don't think that a picture a the little deduction attached is a reliable source. Hektor (talk) 12:25, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

All that falls under original research, which is why we cannot specifically say that she is River...the very same thing stops us from identifying John Simm as the Master in the Xmas 2009 specials. It is 99.99999% likely that she is River, but until we are told by the BBC, we have to assume that she could be a twin sister, ancestor...even a shape shiting alien is a possibility. magnius (talk) 12:30, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

August 2009 edit

Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Karen Gillan, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. magnius (talk) 09:18, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Reason provided. Karen Gillan is alive and free substitute can therefore be created. I leave the image in Amy Pond because I do think that finding a substitute for the image in character is not feasible. If you disagree please revert. Hektor (talk) 09:33, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Saratlas edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Saratlas. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Saratlas.

--Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 9 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Talk:The End of Time edit

Hello, just to be absolutely sure you follow what's happening on the talk page, here is the original talk page comment, with spelling mistakes, made back in May. Here is another editor rather pointlessly correcting that post, months later. This undo then is simply restoring the comment to how it was originally written, since it's no-ones place to edit other people's talk page comments. Clearly not vandalism, then. I hope that's made it clear. Thanks. Maccy69 (talk) 21:07, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Pope Benedict XVII edit

A tag has been placed on Pope Benedict XVII, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

there isn't redir to the Queen named Elisabeth III- What I want to say is: The lemma is completely wrong.

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Atlan da Gonozal (talk) 21:46, 23 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Pope Benedict XVII edit

Hello Hektor, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Pope Benedict XVII - a page you tagged - because: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 22:07, 23 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pope Benedict XVII edit

The article Pope Benedict XVII has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is no Pope Benedict XVII, so a redirect from that name is inappropriate.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 22:08, 23 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Hektor! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 31 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,097 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

NO REFERENCES edit

Stop adding information about the Doctor Who titles. Until the magazines are actually released we can not confirm and you still have no references or sources that link off to any where. -- Mister Mystery (talk) 15:47, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • DWM #418 seems a correct reference to me. Using capital letters is rude. Please cool down. Hektor (talk) 16:15, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looks like you are the one who needs to cool down edit

Unfounded accusations are not the way to go. First, if you read the 3RR rules Mister Mystery is not in violation as the first change is counted as an edit not a revert. Second, your warning, talk page discussion and report to edit warring did not come until after their last edit to the page in question. Next DWM has been wrong about titles in the past. Titles and air dates can and have changed right up to the broadcast of the next series. The directors and writers comes from other sources than just DWM. MM is obviously a newish user. They have reacted to the message left on their talk page by Edgepedia by protecting the page in question from rumors.

Your accusations of sock puppetry. Please feel free to file a report on this at the appropriate spot. The admins will find no connection between MM and myself except that we both edit on WikiP.MarnetteD | Talk 16:40, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

New info - I have just seen that the DWM is being sourced properly in a couple of places for the titles that you are using. Thus I want to send my apologies for changing your edits that were based on it. Be aware that they may still change but it looks likely that we are well on the way to enjoying the new season later this year. MarnetteD | Talk 17:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Please don't apologize. I was happy to have received my copy of the new DWM and discovering this interesting information in it. I will refrain from editing Doctor Who articles in the future. It seems to me that the skin of the Doctor Who fanbase is a bit too thin. No harm done anyway. Hektor (talk) 18:47, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
