July 2017 edit

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Kolkata International Film Festival, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 21:44, 14 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Bengali cinema/Intro moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Bengali cinema/Intro, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. — InsertCleverPhraseHere 07:14, 20 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Non-free image use edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically Portal:Bengali Cinema/Selected biography/11, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:22, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Arka.tukai. Non-free files may only used in the article namespace per WP:NFCC#9; they cannot be used on portal pages. You can add a link to file using the colon trick if you want, but you cannot display the file. I'm posting this because you have re-added some non-free files I removed the other day from various portal pages. These files cannot be displayed on such pages, so please do not re-add them again. -- Marchjuly (talk) 11:27, 22 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
You really need to be careful with the images you are adding to the portals you're creating. Non-free content like File:Baahubali 2 The Conclusion poster.jpg cannot be used on pages like Portal:Telugu cinema/Intro. It's OK to make a mistake once and maybe even possibly twice, but repeating the same mistake over and over again is going to eventually lead to administrator being asked to intervene. So, please check the licensing of any files you want to add to a page before actually adding it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:52, 29 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

List of languages by first written accounts edit

Hi - I've reverted you there. The main relevant articles don't back the claim, the sources, which seem to fail our criteria at WP:RS, don't seem to either. In any case, we'd need academic sources for this. Doug Weller talk 12:11, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Brahmin wikipedians edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Brahmin wikipedians requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —swpbT 15:30, 14 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

User Bengali edit

Hi, I notice you changed the User Bengali template. Please use the following instead:

This user is a Bengali

I have updated the template so that you can use the same userbox by passing the text you want to display instead of image. --nafSadh did say 14:55, 17 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

WP:UGC edit

Please don't use random websites or blogs as references as you did here. Stick to major mainstream sources with established reputations for fact-checking and accuracy. If you don't know anything about a website or what journalistic professionals are behind it, you shouldn't be using it as a reference. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:07, 15 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
