I'm afraid there are still uncertainties about this case, which means that you will have to wait a bit longer to have the matter settled, which must be very frustrating, but I hope it won't be too long.

At present I am not able to connect to the proxy, but proxy access is quite often intermittent, sometimes connecting and sometimes not, so the fact that I can't access it right now is not conclusive proof that the proxy will not be open again. There are still three open ports, leaving the possibility that open proxy access may return. Is the computer or router that connects to the internet in use as any sort of proxy, not necessarily an open one? Is it intended to be possible to connect to the computer or router from another computer, either on the internet or on a local network? If that is intended, then it may be that the access was unintentionally set up in a way which allowed anyone to log in, rather than just authenticated users, and possibly now the set-up has been corrected: that would explain why there are open ports, but I can't connect. If, on the other hand, it is not intended that there be any network access to the computer or router, then there is probably a problem with the network settings on the device, as there probably should not be open ports.

My inclination is to check a few more times at intervals whether it is possible to connect, and if not, then unblock the IP address. However, there are many things about proxies that I don't know, so in this situation I normally post a message about this to Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies, to see if anyone can see anything which I can't, and which will help decide the matter. On this occasion, though, since you sent me the IP address by email, you presumably don't want it posted publicly, so I can't do that. I can email a regular proxy checker to ask for a second opinion, if you give me permission to pass the IP address on. I'm also running a hostednetwork in my laptop, is this the reason? Also, you said there might be problems with the network settings on the device, how can I fix it? The bad news is that I am now able to connect via the proxy again, so the IP address is still hosting an open proxy, and can't be unblocked. Since you are running a hostednetwork in your laptop, it must be possible for people to access it from outside, which explains why there are ports visible to the outside world, but it should not be possible for members of the public to use it as a proxy, as I am able to do. I guess there must be some problem with the set up of that hosted network, but I'm afraid I have no personal experience of running one, and I can't offer any suggestions about what setting may need to be changed, or how. There may be help online for the particular software you are using to host it: very likely there will be a forum for it. The only other thing I can think of is the possibility of giving you IP block exemption on Wikipedia, but I once got told off for doing that without first consulting a CheckUser, so I'll email a Checkuser to ask for help. I am unfortunately completely out of time now, but I will get onto it as soon as I can. I am sure it must be frustrating for you to have yet another delay in getting this sorted out, but I can only ask you to try to be patient. Assume good faith: do not mistake a content dispute for vandalism

Thank you for trying to keep Wikipedia free of vandalism. However, one or more edits you labeled as vandalism, such as the edit at Kazi Nazrul Islam, are not considered vandalism under Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia has a stricter definition of the word "vandalism" than common usage, and mislabeling edits as vandalism can discourage editors. Bengali calendar

Hello. An editor is claiming on Talk:Bengali calendar that it is a modern Bangladeshi invention. Articles like this http://www.dhakatribune.com/opinion/op-ed/2017/04/17/akbar-invented-modern-bengali-calendar/ represent mainstream views. Wikipedia is contradicting the mainstream view. The article is in very poor shape and I worked for hours to improve it, only to be reverted wholesale. What are your thoughts on this?--ArmanJ (talk) 02:20, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Hatirjheel: Dream Begins

The article Hatirjheel: Dream Begins has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The three cited sources are at worst press releases, at best primary coverage without significant critical commentary. Searches of the usual Google types, EBSCO, HighBeam, and ProQuest, found only two other sources - passing mentions of existence in articles about other games.[1][2] This doesn't satisfy WP:NVG; self-promotion is not the route to an encyclopaedia article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
