#RTES Added edit

I've added a header to the Live-Action productions section of Rooster Teeth's page. Currently I edited in a description about the show including links to the page and current speculation of the show's cancellation including Tweets and a Reddit Page of the communities speculation for people who are curious.

This is my first time editing Wikipedia and I tried to abide by the nuetral rules as well as keep "extended" information out that isn't relavent to the basics of the show (like current episodes and titles).

Let mw know what you think or if anything needs to be changed.

ScrewAttack section is very poor edit

Considering it redirects to that section, it has no real history or information, outside its got a popular web series called death battles. Makes it sound like Fullscreen Inc. owned it forever. They bought a mega popular channel, then threw Rooster Teeth branding over it 12months later.

too long (COI editing?) edit

i think the wikipedia entry for the walt disney company is shorter than this

Exactly. For a low-priority article, it's so long, painstakingly well written and well referenced that it I come away with the suspicion that this is COI editing. A.T.S. in Texas (talk) 14:43, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
That's a bit of a wild accusation. I just think it's a very popular media company with lots of fans—many of whom contribute to Wikipedia. I should also add that The Walt Disney Company (130kB) is actually larger than this article (112kB). For a company of this size with so many notable projects, it's not uncommon to have an article of this length. – Rhain 23:45, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Updating Deathbattle section edit

I have a suggestion: The original ScrewAttack Wikipedia page should be restored and turned into a DeathBattle Wikipedia page that would include the history of ScrewAttack as a company and a list of former shows. The death battle section of this article should remain the same however it should have a link to this hypothetical DeathBattle Wikipedia page. The main issue with the current DeathBattle section of this wiki is that barely mentions what ScrewAttack did before DeathBattle. This article showed also have a list of Deathbattle episodes. 169.244.116.71 (talk) 15:21, 17 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Reverted edit on BLP grounds edit

I reverted this edit because there is nothing in any of the cited sources to support its inclusion. This same edit was also reverted within the last 24 hours by Rhain on the same grounds. Wikipedia's BLP policy requires that edits about living persons (or recently deceased persons) must be verifiable, and if material is challenged then a reliable source must be provided before the edit can be restored. So, in short, please provide a reliable source that supports the edit before adding this edit back into the article. I am also leaving a copy of this message on the IP that added the material in. Controversies section feels subjectively worded edit

Wikipedia usually maintains an objective, factual approach. The controversies section feels pretty subjectively angled from someone with a negative view of the company.

For starters, company layoffs are pretty common for businesses and I don't know that it is particularly noteworthy. Secondly, things like sexual misconduct and toxic work environment may be worth noting, but I believe this section needs to be cleaned up to have a more professional and factual feel.

Comparing to similar sections on other pages (for example, Deshaun Watson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deshaun_Watson#Sexual_assault_allegations) these sections typically stick to reporting the facts and court proceedings.

Even words like "toxic" feel too subjective here as it can mean different things to different people. It seems like this section is mostly reporting things people said on Twitter (some of which, like unpaid labor claims, were proven false). Seems like we're setting a bad precedent for what can be reported on Wikipedia if we're allowing entire sections for "former employee said bad things about this place which may or may not be true". Feels like this stuff should stay more on Glassdoor and not the company Wiki unless it's been confirmed in court or at least has a little more substance. 67.198.30.233 (talk) 15:49, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

October 2022 scandal and neutrality edit

As the person above (67.198.30.233) states, the controversies section feels heavily biased against the company. As such, I have placed three disclaimers (one on the top of the page and two in the controversies section itself) regarding the neutrality.

Until anyone provides evidence to back, say, their unpaid labor claims (which would be a breach of any NDA the company holds with them), it is best to approach it with a degree of skepticism, writing something akin to "In October 2022, such and such claimed on Twitter they were unpaid for their work at [insert division of the company]". 136.32.245.110 (talk) 14:59, 7 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I do not think any of these disclaimers as the article as it currently stands reads as a simply and factual report on what happened. Your suggestion is also already applied to the page, it explicitly states that the company was accused by an individual, no where in that section is it treated as a factual statement.Dubarr18 (talk) 19:19, 7 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

See Also section edit

The current "See Also" section lists game publisher Playism, as well as translation services Google Translate, DeepL, and vidby. What is the connection between Rooster Teeth and these companies/services? Playism's games don't appear to involve Rooster Teeth best I can tell, and I'm unsure how the translators factor in. Half a paragraph regarding Craig's comments on Rooster Teeth was referencing Craig's own podcast on Youtube, which is not a reliable source, to say nothing about it being mired neck deep in Gamergate sludge. 46.97.170.34 (talk) 12:33, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
