UK Wrestler in the same mould as Jack Evans, goes by the name PAC "the man that gravity forgot", he will be part of the WSX wrestling promotion for MTV.

He's not a Sport wrestler, he's a profession wrestler- the class of Stub need changing.

As proposed by the bot, the Title/name of the page should be changed to 'PAC' instead of 'Neville'

Surname spelling

edit

A quick search for him on either Facebook or Myspace will show you that his surname's spelt "Satterley". 80.45.75.44 (talk) 10:06, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Pac (wrestler)Adrian Neville – Has used the "Adrian Neville" ring name for more than a year. His greatest exposure, by far, has come from this name. None of the organizations he wrestled as "PAC" have the same worldwide outreach as WWE. Relisted. • Comment This comes in light of the recent Paige move. She was a well-established name on the indies before she joined WWE. Same thing with PAC. --GeicoHen (talk) 23:33, 10 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - Comparing "Britani Knight / Paige" and PAC are apples and oranges. Britani Knight wrestled in a whole host of minor promotions and is nowhere as established as PAC, she didn't win anything major at all. I think the largest promotion she was with was SHIMMER but she did not win anything there. PAC wrestled in a major promotion in Japan, Dragon Gate. He won 3 of their 5 titles there, barring the heavyweight and the comedy title. He won the trios titles twice. Dragon Gate has TV/PPV outreach in Japan. He also wrestled for the largest major promotion, New Japan. Meanwhile, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Dragon Gate USA are probably more popular than SHIMMER, and PAC has won their tag team titles and DDT4. PAC has even appeared in ROH and Chikara. Paige was limited to Europe and the US, PAC has been there too but has an extra stint in Japan. Even if NXT has given PAC more coverage, it can't override the success he had beforehand for eight years. I'll wait for his main roster call-up. starship.paint (talk | ctrb) 08:07, 11 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. PAC is clearly the COMMONNAME at the moment. Maybe after he makes it to the main roster, but at the moment his accomplishments in the biggest American indy promotions and some of the top Japanese promotions outshine a year in WWE developmental.リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) (talk) 09:16, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Might I comment that it's really his work in Japan that's more notable. starship.paint (talk | ctrb) 10:20, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Requested move (January 2015)

edit
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.

Pac (wrestler)Adrian Neville – he's had a match on Raw, WWE's flagship show, has the longest NXT Championship reign to date and Adrian Neville is clearly his COMMONNAME at the moment, seeing that he's used it as his ring name for 2 years now. I say it should happen now. Kattastrophic (talk) 02:11, 6 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose - he had a cameo on Raw, not an official promotion to the main roster. Neville might be "two years old" but PAC is eight, has wrestled in the US, Japan, Canada, UK, Germany, France and Spain. He's had more success as PAC in Dragon Gate (winning three of four non-comedy championships in the promotion) than as Neville in NXT, because NXT is just developmental. Longevity and success are the deciding factor for me. The time to move should not be before he is officially promoted to the main roster. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 02:27, 6 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Right now it's exposure (WWE) against longevity and success. It's still a toss-up between the three factors at this point because NXT is developmental and isn't watched as much as Raw. One cameo should not decide everything. His exposure will increase dramatically when he's promoted to the main roster, so why can't we wait until then? starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 04:08, 6 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
You see @Kattastrophic:? Now that he's been called up, he's no longer Adrian. If he was still Adrian, I would have proposed a move immediately. I will be back in May - if he still has only his surname, I will propose to move Neville (wrestler). Anyway, I searched in CageMatch and WrestlingData, there are no other "Neville"s in wrestling. starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 13:26, 31 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Support - he's been known for years on NXT as Adrian Neville. He was champ of NXT for about 200 days under Adrian Neville. No one knows him as Pac anymore. It's officially either Neville (WWE) or Adrian Neville. He's staying on WWE. He's made the move and he's even in Raw's intro. His page on WWE.COM is Neville. Neville -- WWE.COM If anything, go with Neville (wrestler). It's time to change! -- Lady Meg (talk) 03:03, 14 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - absolutely no reason not to do it now. He is in the biggest wrestling company in the world under a name that he has used for years. "Neville" was a worldwide trend on Twitter when he officially debuted on Raw. MrBlondNYC (talk) 18:58, 16 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
I had moved the page on good faith after an uncontroversial move request. User:Qed237 then inexplicably reverted this move as controversial without discussion. I have no dog in this fight, so you'll have to take it up with him. Apparently he thinks there's still opposition to this move, but I see no evidence of it. I was merely trying to keep WP:RM from becoming more backlogged than it already is. --Hadal (talk) 20:50, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
I just cant see how a denied move request and an open request with votes for "oppose" is "uncontroversial". If the move request gets more supports and is closed as move, I have no problem with that. But it is not "uncontroversial". QED237 (talk) 21:04, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

There is one oppose, and he has retracted it... 78.148.234.205 (talk) 21:07, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

" I will be back in May - if he still has only his surname, I will propose to move Neville (wrestler)." It is not May yet and as it has been denied first in can be seen as controversial and should go through proper request before being moved. Pages should not be moved that easily. QED237 (talk) 21:10, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm so people have a right to have a holiday and delay decisions, seems a little dumb to me. 78.148.234.205 (talk) 21:14, 25 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you, or anyone else, want to make a proper request before that feel free to do so. What that user said is that he/she will open a request for move then, but there is nothing stopping you from making on now. But it should be a proper request before page gets moved. Pac (wrestler)Neville (wrestler) – Was named Pac on the independent scene and not too well known in the mainstream, went to NXT and became Adrian Neville and became more famous. He now has the ringname Neville in the WWE, the biggest wrestling company in the world by far. This is his current and most notable name. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 02:39, 3 May 2015 (UTC) 78.148.234.205 (talk) 21:22, 25 April 2015 (UTC) :Oppose most notable name? He debuted one month ago, I don't think Neville as the common name. He wrestler around the world and he gained a lot of exposure as Adrian Neville in NXT. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 23:25, 27 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

While I agree NXT made him famous under the Adrian Neville name, the Neville name is an evolution from this. Raw and Smackdown are much bigger shows than NXT and this will be his name going forward. It needs to come off Pac, as this is extremely dated and seems illogical to move to Adrian Neville when this is also a dated name. 78.148.127.93 (talk) 19:48, 28 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
"this will be his name going forward" WP:CRYSTALBALL. We don't know it. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 13:20, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Support All WWE TV shows - including NXT - air worldwide. WWE is the top wrestling company in the world. So that means that he has been known as Adrian Neville or Neville worldwide for past two and a half years. He has been a major character on three worldwide WWE TV shows (Raw, Smackdown, NXT). How long exactly does he have to be named Neville? So far, the only time frames I've seen on this thread are 1) longer than he was named Pac (eight years) and 2) when starship.paint comes back from vacation. Both of which are ridiculous. MrBlondNYC (talk) 23:49, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Support I don't really know what HHH Pedigree is getting at with that crystalball comment. Of course Neville may change his name but in the foreseeable future he is most likely to stay as Neville. Wikipedia shouldn't predict the future but the amount of people who call him Neville/Adrian Neville i astronomical compared with Pac. SenorKristobbal (talk) 21:26, 2 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Support He was on as Neville on this talk show the other day: NEVILLE SURPRISES A YOUNG HERO ON "THE MEREDITH VIEIRA SHOW" (2:04). The link is on the OFFICIAL WWE website. Neville. Honestly, I'm a titles nerd when it comes to the pages I edit [British Royal History]. They always have a section with their title at birth, marriage(s), and until death. Ex. Catherine Parr married four times. She's listed by every different title or surname she picked up. 1512-1529: Catherine Parr; 1529-1533: Lady Catherine Burgh; 1533-1534: the Dowager Lady Burgh; etc. Can't we just move the page and list a timeline of titles? Lady Meg (talk) 01:05, 7 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - I've not been on vacation recently. I don't know of other wrestlers named Neville. Raw and SmackDown has the most exposure internationally, much more than NXT, and he lost his first name. WP:COMMONNAME starship.paint ~ ¡Olé! 11:35, 11 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support I'd also support a move to Adrian Neville if this one fails for whatever reason. The WWE exposure eclipses his other ring names.LM2000 (talk) 19:16, 11 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Support When you say "Pac", the first thing that pops in my head is not Mr. Satterly. (Adrian) Neville is the name that put him in the spotlight and put new eyes on him. A huge number of eyes, that is. His international days are over and frankly irrelevant. Rewind Wrestling (talk) 22:58, 11 May 2015 (UTC) RW Signing OutReply

He has made his full debut upon the main roster of WWE television, under the name Neville. He will now participate in 2 PPV events and then some. I think its time to move the page to Neville, as every wrestling fan now refers to him by that name.

Neville (wrestler)Adrian Neville – He was NXT champion (and 2-time NXT tag champ) as "Adrian Neville" and hasn't won any titles under the shortened name. This is also a WP:NATDAB since Adrian having 6 chars is briefer than (wrestler) having 10 chars. WWE is also still selling a shirt that says "Adrian Neville" on the back, you can see that at http://shop.wwe.com/Neville-%22Break-Orbit%22-Authentic-T-Shirt/W07415,default,pd.html which I think cements it as a better option than relying on a parenthesis. --Relisted. • Support per WP:NATURAL "Natural disambiguation: If it exists, choose an alternative name that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title."
per used titles such as Johann Sebastian Bach that present a fuller form of name even though no disambiguation is required and as per WP:MONONYM.
per the theatrical, mock combat of pro wrestling not fitting dictionary and commonname definitions of wrestling. Professional wrestling, as it has been called, is an indisputably successful artform but, as far as definitions of competitive sport go, its not wrestling.

It would be sensible to delete the subsection entitled 3 Count Wrestling (2005 - 2010) - it is completely uncited, the promotion in question is too tiny to warrant its own subsection and the editor who added the information (Special:Contributions/Jordstaryt) seems to be a single purpose account trying to spam 3 Count Wrestling. • Oppose: Neville was more known as Adrian Neville before he was on the main roster, he's been on the developmental territory long enough before being called to the main roster as simply Neville. He also won the NXT Championship longer and more than his current WWE Cruiserweight Championship. You guys moved Neville (wrestler) to Adrian Neville, so why revert it back to its old title? Hansen Sebastian 09:37, 29 August 2017 (UTC)
  • The last move discussion was over two years ago. He is certainly not more well known as "Adrian"; he used that in NXT, which receives a lot less exposure than the main roster. The first name was dropped shortly after his arrival on the main roster and has since become too obscure to use. WP:NATDAB and WP:NAMECHANGES apply.LM2000 (talk) 13:24, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support: I also support the page being changed to Neville (wrestler). While some people know him as Adrian Neville, he dropped the Adrian part of his name around a year and a half ago. If you ask most people who Adrian Neville is, I don't know that they'd say "Oh, that's that wrestler.
  • Support: I think, in keeping with the times, Neville (wrestler) should be the new title as he has used that name for ages now, with zero references made to Adrian anymore.PeterMan844 (talk) 14:07, 23 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

No, he is best known for his carrer in WWE, the article title is about his whole career, no the current career. That's why wrestlers like Alberto Del Rio still in their WWE names, since it's common name, even years after his release. This is about exposure, in WWE wrestled in front of a worldwide audience and have success winning several titles. As Pac he wrestled in the independent circit, which is less followed, you can't compare big events like WrestleMania or SummerSlam with Dragon Gate events. Request This page to be moved from Neville to PAC. Benjamin Satterley hasn't wrestled under the ring name "Neville" since 2017, and has no right to the name since leaving the WWE in 2018. Furthermore, Satterley is once again Wrestling under his pre-WWE ring name "PAC" since his return to wrestling for independent promotions. The page should be moved to reflect this name change. Neville (wrestler)Pac (wrestler) – He is now part of the first major wrestling promotion in 20 years to have both a weekly TV show and the financials to go toe-to-toe with WWE. He has not wrestled under the name Neville in over a year, and AEW should easily satisfy the notability requirements that were asked for by commenters on the previous move request; ROH or Impact were cited a few times, and considering AEW is on a major television network and far outreaches both these shows in viewership, that bar should be easily cleared. ThePaSch (talk) 03:11, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Those sources specifically state that he was formerly known as Neville, and they still refer to him as Pac first and foremost. Artists who recently changed their names - especially in the transitionary period - are pretty frequently referred to by their former names, which, and this I consider key, are specifically stated to be their former names. --ThePaSch (talk) 02:25, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
More recent sources make no mention of his former WWE ring name anymore, outside of the odd explanatory sentence here and here about his professional wrestling past, emphasizing that Neville was his former name. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] --ThePaSch (talk) 01:27, 23 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Other wrestlers such as Moxley and Spears have had their name changes respected, Pac should as well. AEW is of high enough notability, as well as his stuff with DG to warrant the change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.227.119.163 (talk)
  • Support Everytime he has wrestled outside of WWE he has been Pac. He hasn't wrestled as Neville for over a year, which is longer than Moxley has gone without wrestling as Ambrose; if Jon Good's wikipedia page is now titled Moxley it is only consistent that this is changed to Pac. 210.227.119.163 (talk) 01:17, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
The same IP seems to have made two votes, with one of them having been an unsigned comment. This should be kept in mind while gauging consensus. --ThePaSch (talk) 02:25, 18 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Support - he's gone by Pac everywhere but WWE. Vjmlhds (talk) 14:30, 22 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

The Bastard

edit

Ever since he debuted on AEW he has been billed as "The Bastard" Pac. Any particular reason as to why this is omitted? Mabuska (talk) 23:41, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
