I added a clause to the lead section to denote that adrienne maree brown generally represents her name in lower cases. I haven't yet located a reference where she describes this practice (which is readily available for folks like bell hooks or k.d. lang), but I wanted to at least recognize that here. I created the nomination at Template:Did you know nominations/Adrienne Maree Brown and now we wait for someone to review it which can take multiple weeks, so don't be alarmed (my last nomination was three weeks ago and is still waiting for review). You can and should keep on working on the article if you can and possibly suggest different "hooks", i.e. those sentences on the Main Page designed to draw people in (although I think the one I proposed is pretty intriguing). I think that 2023justice wrote a wonderful summary of this chapter. Since two pages are summarized in 500 words, all the arguments are well portrayed here. The only thing that I would change is that I would focus more on the idea presented in her introduction on why the accountability scheme, as used today, is deeply against Transformative Justice. For example, she writes that " We call it transformative justice when we’re throwing knives and insults, exposing each other’s worst mistakes, reducing each other to moments of failure. We call it holding each other accountable. I’m tired of it. I see it everywhere I turn. When the response to mistakes, failures, and misunderstandings is emotional, psychological, economic, and physical punishment, we breed a culture of fear, secrecy, and isolation." Update: I have noticed that there was an Instagram link in a previous version, but later it was removed, presumably because it required login.
