Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Consensus

edit

Wikipedia works by collaboration and consensus, not by each individual editor doing whatever he or she wants, and ignoring the opinion of other editors. As you know, a discussion about Checkmates in the opening produced solid consensus that the topic was not suitable for a Wikipedia article, and so it was deleted. Please respect that consensus, and don't try to unilaterally overturn it by re-creating the article. JBW (talk) 18:14, 3 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Checkmates in the opening

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Checkmates in the opening requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Checkmates in the opening. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. MfD nomination of Draft:Checkmates in the opening

edit

Draft:Checkmates in the opening, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Checkmates in the opening and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Checkmates in the opening during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. CThomas3 (talk) 16:02, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

March 2020

edit

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Draft:Checkmates in the opening. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Do not remove the MFD tag, or the record of the decline of the draft.

Robert posted a rather tame version of this warning which was nice of him. Let me be more blunt: as JBW said earlier to you we operate on consensus. Resubmitting an article which was recently deleted is disruptive. Removing the deletion tags is disruptive. Repeatedly resubmitting a draft might be disruptive. It seems like you have plenty to offer in the area of chess. Find current articles to improve. That would be great. But further disruption will be met with a block.   This is your only warning; if you remove or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia again, as you did at Draft:Checkmates in the opening, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Do not remove MfD and AfC templates. This is the final warning. Sulfurboy (talk) 05:27, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
