sock edits
Hello. I noticed you recently reverted a number of edits by Googly Love Spin, citing that account as a sock puppet of Abhijit puranik. A number of your reversions have since been undone by Wolverine the invincible, and I suspect that may be another sock account. I don't have much expertise or the admin tools to deal with sockery, so I thought I would bring it to your attention. Nick Number (talk) 15:51, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

DYK for J. J. Goodwin
On 8 August 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article J. J. Goodwin, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that without the efforts of British stenographer J. J. Goodwin, a good number of lectures of Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda would have been lost? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/J. J. Goodwin. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

hi
Well, I want to edit this page URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paoli_Dam which is my profile and specially to change the photos. For this I need your help brother :) How can I put my photos to my profile ? Please guide me. Thanks in advance. Regards, Paolidi. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paolidam.1980 (talk • contribs) 14:02, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
- Your last edit did not work properly. Anyway, to add image you need to upload images first and you need to own copyright of those images. If you want to upload yourself you can upload the image files here commons:Special:UploadWizard. Inform me after uploading the images, I'll make corrections (if any). Else you can send me the images at tito.wikipedia gmail.com (don't send too many images). OR you can choose any image from Bollywwod Hungama "events" gallery. If you have any other comment/opinion/idea related to the article, please inform me or post at article's talk page. --Tito☸Dutta 15:20, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi! I won't be able to edit in next several hours. Can you please keep an eye on Talk:Bengal#Edits_by_User:AfricaTanz, and the article Bengal? I see this user is gonwar, with good faith. He on the verge of 3RR as well. I also found he did some blanket deletions in some other articles as well, without tagging or giving a reasonable time.--Dwaipayan (talk) 05:29, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- He has already violated 3RR. Have you reported? --Tito☸Dutta 06:00, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- I have requested at RFPP. Since you are monitoring his edits, you should decide which should be the better place— Edit warring notice board or ANI. --Tito☸Dutta 06:05, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- it is extremely difficult for me to copy paste URL and diffs while editing on a mobile device. Plus, I wanted to give him some more time. Anyway, it would be extremely helpful if you are able to report this, in case he continues. 3rr should be ok.--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:09, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Participating in canvassing and tag team edit warring, huh? What content did I "insert" in Bengal that is "problematic"? AfricaTanz (talk) 06:11, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- You don't need to copy paste URLs. I believe people there will understand your issue (i.e. editing from mobile). Just write the article title and ask to see "article history" (or they can add the diffs later). And what is happening here: User_talk:বিজয়_চক্রবর্তী#Copyright_issue? Help this boy. --Tito☸Dutta 06:14, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Dwaipayan, after reading the canvassing allegation above, I have written a four lines poetry (these days I am very much inspired by Obak kobi sommelon of Friends FM), please tell me how do you like my poem—
Canvas, Pati hnas, tikitiki, sojaru
Raat bhor, duttor, fyat fyat fyataru.
Singur, chokmoki, kamdhenu aar ki
Serious kichu noy, puro ta eyarki!
To keep things transparent, can you translate these four lines to English please? --Tito☸Dutta 06:24, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Haha, that's is a nice poem. But this is beyond my capacity to translate. Indeedd it is probably beyond the capacity of anyone to translate! And what is this program in radio, what is it about?--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:27, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

- A day to remember. I have seen Chennai Express and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in a single day. I don't know why Radio Mirchi has dished out a nasty review. Most probably it is Radio Mirchi who has given the film lowest marks 2 out of 5 (our article does not mention it). Mir and Deep told in his review that there is nothing new in the film— same mannerism of SRK, similar story, same name (Rahul) etc. But, I very much liked Chennai Express (specially the first 30 minutes). Then I saw Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, I liked it more than Chennai Express. Like all reviewers I also felt, the film is a bit long. Farhan Akhtar is outstanding. I requested semi protection for Chennai Express, it is semi protected for 2 weeks. --Tito☸Dutta 15:04, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

re Paoli Article: updates needed...
Also, Paoli does *not* mind. (this is about year of birth - in fact it is part of one of Ms Dam's public email-ids..)
Tito, mate, 2 of her films have already been released in 2013. Sweetheart and Hoichoi (both bengali). Too tired to add them, look up gomolo.com. What other proof do you want - scan of my tickets? (they name the film..) Photo of me shaking hands with my friend dear Ms Debarati Gupta the brilliant director of Hoichoi (a very-much arthouse film about the litle-theatre scence in present-day Calcutta, which is dear Debarati's idea of a 'commercial film' - the producer in panic... ) at its premiere?
Othewise I'll update the info in 9-10 days. [when I put in one more piece of info - name of character she played in an early film of hers... I've posted that as a quiz question somewhere and said please post correct answer on wikipedia at the proper place... given them a fortnight, so 9 more days to go.. ! ]
Look of article is important, agreed. But outdated and therefore in this case incorrect info - isnt rectifying it more important?
Manojpandeyanarchocommunist (talk) 20:43, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- I have updated the table and and the Bengali film count box, I'll add few lines about the films in prose style very soon. I can not understand the part where you talked about proofs? Did I ask any? Or did I say the films have not released. The simple answer is, I work in many articles and did not notice that these films have already released. I have verified information here: List of Bengali films of 2013, where they say 3 of Dam's films released this year— the two you have mentioned and Honeymoon. I have not included Honeymoon still. I'll check it later. --Tito☸Dutta 03:31, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
reply
ok thx.
re the film honeymoon:
I wrote before and corrected that. 'Honeymoon' has been released but does not have Paoli in it: it has *nothing* to do with Ms Dam. That is misinformation on gomolo etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manojpandeyanarchocommunist (talk • contribs) 05:10, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. Regards from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 23:45, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

- TOOSOON: Notability is not an issue. The only issue is— it is TOOSOON. I don't have any personal problem with such articles too. For example see Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Dabangg_3. There are more newspaper articles on this "yet to start" film than few completed released films. When a bunch of reliable newspapers are covering, then why shouldn't/can't we?
People want to read, but, we have nothing to serve: The issue is: people will search in Google/Wikipedia and will not get anything here since we have some "TOOSOON" policy. They should think changing the rule. If there are many coverages, if people are discussing on it allow us to write on it. In such case if not the film then its plannings and preparations clearly passes GNG. Sometimes people want to read, but, we have nothing to serve.
When a notable film becomes notable?: Actually our (Wikipedia's) point of view is responsible here, On the one hand, we discourage Original Research, on the other hand we have done our own original research which somehow concludes "a film becomes notable only after its release". You'll read rationales like this regularly: No information on its releasing or it will release after M months, so, delete now. But, a film is not a one day event. A film sometimes begins much before its actual beginning and ends much after its apparent ending (sounds poetic? ). Also, an unfinished/Unreleased film may be notable too, see Category:Unfinished films
Personal observation: There is a kind of competition in Bollywood film articles, i.e. who can win "article creator's" title, everyone wants to do it, so, you'll face this TOOSOON issue regularly. Tito☸Dutta 11:12, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, notability is always the primary consideration as it (and all guidelines) instruct they are "best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply" as the primary guideline is often modified by the various subject-specific notability guidelines. And I fully DO understand the TOO SOON issue. Toward this I wish to share that
- WP:TOOSOON is an essay and not a policy, and
- I wrote both WP:TOOSOON and its related essay WP:FFILM (with its subsection WP:FFCLARIFY}) which speak toward reasonable application of actually policy WP:SPECULATION and the sub-guideline WP:NFF when considering the (usually over-ruling) primary notability guideline.
- Policy instructs that even when not yet meriting a separate article under an SNG, sourced information may always be written of somewhere within these page in order to serve a readers enlightenment on a topic.
- As I offered at the AFD, I agree to a deletion, and simply suggest that until a separate article is merited, we send readers to the one place where it makes sense (and is allowed per policy) to discuss the sourcable topic of this film. If this AFD were to have occurred four weeks from now, I might almost have been arguing a keep under WP:GNG and WP:IAR, as our own primary duty is to serve the readers through use of existing policy and guideline. - And too, when a film is slated to begin filming within a few weeks, and even in consideration of WP:NFF, deletion POLICY suggests that incubation is also a reasonable and valid consideration. Just sayin... Schmidt, Michael Q. 11:55, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- a) Are search engines allowed to index incubated articles? I searched few incubated articles (in Google), but did not find anything. b) a list of criteria can be set like: number of reliable independent news article published in N days, number of queries in Google (following Google). Sections which are already being highlighted and can be written in the article (eg. This is A's first film with B, The film was rejected by C and his rival D took the film, The production house has started making a N crore ruppes set for this film). Some mathematical operations can be added to find out an article's potential and eligibility, c) other reliable sites coverages (IMDb, BollywoodHungama), c) redirecting to another article's section will not be very helpful, since Google will almost never show Anurag Basu's "career" section as a search result of "Jagga Jasoos" Tito☸Dutta 12:30, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- Study Wikipedia:Article Incubator. Incubated articles are set as < nowiki'd >" non searchable to the world outside Wikipedia, but to assist in collaborative editing as the article bides its time, one can usually include a (removable) find-sources above the header of the incubated topic. Quote: " Incubation is a "soft deletion" process whereby articles that have been found not to meet Wikipedia's content criteria but do meet the incubation criteria, which means there is an intention that the article can and will be improved, are removed from mainspace and search engines but remain accessible by non-admins so they can be collaboratively worked on." Hey Tito! So glad you signed up.
- I would love to chat about how best to put your strengths towards the library. Would you be open to email or a brief skype/hangout? I want to share the projects that are ongoing, hear your thoughts about how to best direct our energies, and find some spots where you can easily pitch in. Working on outreach to Indian libraries could be a great area to explore. Hope to talk soon.

Take a look at Women's health in India.
Recently a new user has removed some of the content in Women's health in India saying that it was not cited. The reference which is in concern is not available online and seeing that you were involved in this article, I ask you to respond to this topic on its talk page and see if everything is okay. Just take a look at the articles history and see for yourself, won't take much of your time and I thank you in advance. Sincerely, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 18:05, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- I can not check Shah's source (since it is offline). Lead should be written in summary style, if those information are well written and well sourced in article body, it can be added in lead without any source. So, the question remains: does Shah confirm AIDS is major issue for Indian women, if it is an African country, I can understand (I have read newspaper reports too). But, is it so alarming in India? --Tito☸Dutta 18:16, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- Dang, I was expecting you to be in possession of the sources. In that case, if you know anyone who has it, please tell them to take a look at this. Yup, then it remains the same and the user has a point. Thanks. Ugog Nizdast (talk) 18:56, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
