Just so you know, her image is now featured. Any suggestions for a good day to suggest her for POTD? I find a few months out is best, as it's awkward to move one already scheduled. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7.6% of all FPs 21:56, 1 November 2020 (UTC) Excellent! Well done. The Garvan Olin Medal was presented to her on April 17, 1950 (says so here), if April 17 is open. Penny Richards (talk) 23:28, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Looks like it's free, but would you rather go for her 130th birthday? Might be more obvious what the anniversary is. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7.6% of all FPs 05:46, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
Ah, yes, that's a good plan. Nice round number of an anniversary. Penny Richards (talk) 16:21, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

To be able to claim prizes, please also ensure to list your articles on the users by articles page. We would be awarding prizes to different categories of winners:

  • Overall winner
    • 1st - $500
    • 2nd - $200
    • 3rd - $100
  • Diversity winner - $100
  • Gender-gap filler - $100
  • Language Winners - up to $100*

We are very excited about what has been achieved so far, but your contributions are still needed to further exceed all expectations! Let’s create more articles before the end of this contest, which is this November!!!

Thank you once again for being part of this global event! --Jamie Tubers (talk) 10:30, 06 November 2020 (UTC)

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. Help with Review of Biologist

I see you are a member of the WikiProject Women in Red. I’ve made a number of proposals that I think improve the article about Martha G. Welch, a Professor of Psychiatry in Pediatrics and in Pathology & Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. I can’t implement these myself since I have a conflict of interest. Would you mind looking at these proposals and providing feedback? Thank you very much.KnollLane55901 (talk) 21:08, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi Penny, and happy, better 2021. Following up with a comment made on Twitter, I need help. Can you suggest a more appropriate term than the archaic "invalid" in the Jennie Maria Drinkwater Conklin biography? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. --Rosiestep (talk) 04:10, 10 January 2021 (UTC)

On 10 May 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Hetty Jane Dunaway, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that when Hetty Jane Dunaway created Dunaway Gardens near Atlanta, it had a 400 and a 1,000 seat theatre and a swimming pool blasted out with explosives? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Hetty Jane Dunaway. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Hetty Jane Dunaway), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Proposed New Article for July Julies

Hi User:Penny Richards. I have a candidate for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Meetup/202 July Julies project. I believe Julie Lythcott-Haims is ready for a Wikipedia article. I know there are several ways to post a new article for creation. I have put the article in my sand box User:LeepKendall/sandbox, and was wondering if you might have time to review it or at least provide advice on the best way to get it in added for review for July Julies. This is my first new article. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! LeepKendall (talk) 17:55, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi User:LeepKendall! I went and looked; it's a good start, well-referenced, I made some visual fixes and added categories. I really don't know if she's notable enough by Wikipedia standards--not all college deans are, not all published writers are, etc. There might be a good case, but I rarely start biographies of living people (BLPs) so I just don't know. I think it could be published in main space and see what happens; or ask for more feedback on your draft at WT:WOMRED. Penny Richards (talk) 19:35, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
Thank you very much User:Penny Richards. I appreciate your time, edits and additional feedback suggestions. Best LeepKendall (talk) 19:40, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Columbia Eneutseak

On 3 September 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Columbia Eneutseak, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Columbia Eneutseak (pictured), named for the World's Columbian Exposition where she was born into one of the exhibits, starred in her film The Way of the Eskimo? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Columbia Eneutseak. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Columbia Eneutseak), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

What a stunning article about Theodora Wilson Wilson. I can't believe you can create such quality at the same time as quantity. I'm intrigued by her book and hope to get a copy to find out about move into science fiction to forward her pacifism. Strange that Manchester activists created a video with an "A-List" actor and republished her book but didn't think to write her wiki biography. Thanks Penny. Place of birth for Dorothy Klenke Nash

The article you created for Dorothy Klenke Nash places her as having been born in Sea Bright, New Jersey, but provides no source to establish a connection there. I searched through Google and Newspapers.com and found nothing. You also added her as a notable to the article for Sea Bright with no source. What is the reliable and verifiable source that you used? Am I missing something? Alansohn (talk) 20:38, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

Ah good catch--should have buttoned that one down. She gives Sea Bright as her birthplace on her 1922 passport application, but I guess I never tracked down a published source on that. Will remove for now and get her another incoming link. Penny Richards (talk) 20:51, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for looking into this. I will continue searching myself, but I still haven't found an appropriate source. Alansohn (talk) 20:55, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
And thank you! I was starting that one while I was handing out candy to trick-or-treaters last night, so I really should give it another pass during daylight. Penny Richards (talk) 21:07, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

Dear Penny Richards,

You're invited to a zoom call, taking place on February 11, with the goal of improving the article on Los Angeles to Featured article status! I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Hope to see you there—if you're interested, add your name here!
