Use Of Pop-Ups

edit

You are advised not to use pop-ups to revert articles esp. see the history of the article and talkpage and then if you want to revert, give summary. - AryaRajyaमहाराष्ट्र 05:23, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Arasa--> Kill two birds with same stone

edit

Excellent job. Can you now please add the reference info (the book name, publication, year etc) to the reference section of page "Timmarusu" (maye we should call it Timmarasa). I have already added your citation there. Someone had stuck a [citation needed] tag on this page. I need to clean up that page though. In fact its better if you add the citation also yourself. I will delete my edit on that page.

Sringeri

edit

Hi. Doing a good job here. We need to chart out a list of Temple towns across Karnataka and focus on them, one at a time. I will see if I have any good relevant photos from Sringeri to share on this page.Dineshkannambadi 13:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Citations reuse

edit

Hi Naveen,

I just observed in Belgaum border dispute article, that you had placed same citation multiple times citing it for three different paragraphs. While it is a good idea to provide citations for the new information added, you can actually reuse the citation instead of providing the entire citation info again and again. This can be achieved by using the name attribute of "ref" tag. Only for the first time citation, you will need to provide the complete information of that citation; for the usage of same citation in any other place in the same article you just need to put <ref name="citation name">. Hope this helps. Thank you! - KNM Talk 09:28, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re:Bot

Davanagere district's infobox had the following, [http://??.nic.in ??.nic.in] prior to bot update. If there are no values to provide, the parameter should be left empty, not filled with quesion marks. website=, should have been enough. But it had website=??.nic.in. The bot removed all ?? from the box. That is why the link went bad. Hope that explains. -- Ganeshk (talk) 13:59, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Someone has stuck a not verified tag on the material here. The historical portion is available in many websites. So you should put some ref notes to them and remove the tag.If you are unable to find a source, I can try.Dineshkannambadi 20:18, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

NAveen, I have taken your Kudremukh photograph and put it into Hoysala page calling it "Hoysala country" since they are known to have originated from Angadi in Chikmagalur dist. If you have a better image (this is good though), feel free to replace it in Hoysala page. Do you know where exactly, Angadi is in Chikmagalur dist. I know they were called Male chiefs which defnitely means they were highlanders (from sources)Dineshkannambadi 18:51, 17 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
