Question
I think you fail to see some text in this users page Would u please hear Sainsf's help request ... Please help me by providing some information or some website on writer Javier Moro, so that I can create an article on him at Wikipedia. Thanks to the helper. DAndC 17:21, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- When I wrote this, Sainsf hadn't asked any question. After the user wrote the question, I saw it, but I don't have any information on Javier Moro, so I can't help. The kind of research is usually done by the one who wants to write the article. I left the helpme tag up, so others know Sainsf needs help and may be able to provide assistance. --Mysdaao talk 18:01, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Coloured Username
I was wondering if you could tell me how to change the colour or font of my username? thanks 123dylan456 (talk) 23:54, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
- Some general information on how to customize your signature is at Wikipedia:CUSTOMSIG, however it doesn't explain how to change the color in a signature. Follow the instructions there to get to the page where you can change your signature, and then add <font color="colorname"> before the text you want to change to a different color and </font> after it, replacing colorname with the name of the color you want to use. You can use any color name from the supported colors, which are listed here. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 12:25, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks I'll give that page a look and see what I find :D

Fried Chicken!
Sainsf has given you a fresh piece of fried chicken! Pieces of fried chicken promote WikiLove and hopefully this piece has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a piping hot piece, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Bon appetit!
Spread the tastiness of fried chicken by adding to their talk page with a friendly message, or gobble up this chicken the giver's talk page with !!
Thank you Mysdaao for your great and generous help! Enjoy the fried chicken! And as the wikibreak template says, happy vacations:)! Thanks, --Sainsf<^> (talk) 14:51, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for the fried chicken! It happens to be my favorite food! As you can see I'm back from vacation, so just let me know if you ever need help with anything else. Thanks again! --Mysdaao talk 14:54, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
What do these numbers mean ?
Hey you helped me before so hopefully you can again. In My Watchlist list, I've noticed that each post has a number in brackets with either a positive (+) or negative (-) sign before it. If the number is positive it is green and if negative it is red. What do these numbers mean? Thanks, Dylan (talk) 11:38, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- That is the increase or decrease in the number of bytes from the last edit made to the page on your watchlist. For more information, please see Help:Watching pages, and let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 15:01, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Help?
Hi, I remember that you have already helped me, so I was wondering if you could help me again.
How do I put the column on the right hand side of most pages in a new article? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JonnyOSullivan (talk • contribs) 09:21, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Those are called infoboxes, and there are a lot of different infoboxes that can be used for different types of articles. There are many in Category:Infobox templates. I see that after you asked this question, you put an infobox on We Will Bury You (comics). Supercbbox redirects to Template:Infobox comic book title, so you can see directions there for using that infobox. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 14:33, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Tables
Hello again, Mysdaao! I hope you know and help me. I've a few questions...
- How to create tables?
- How can I make my userpage as the userpage of Can't Sleep, Clown Will Eat Me?
Thanks,--Sainsf<^> (talk) 12:07, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- There are many different options for creating tables. See Help:Wikitable for basic help or Help:Table for more advanced help with tables.
- If you want to copy Can't sleep, clown will eat me's userpage design and use part or all of it as your own, just press Edit to copy the code, paste it onto your userpage, and change the username and anything else you want. That user also used subpages for some of the content, like User:Can't sleep, clown will eat me/Border and User:Can't sleep, clown will eat me/End Border, so if you want to use content that's on the subpages, you'll have to copy the code from there too and create your own subpages in your userspace. I also suggest you not copy content like barnstars and personal details because that can be seen as bad etiquette.
- Please let me know if you need any more help with anything. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 16:42, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePRO)
Hi there - I have added in links from other entries in WP. Does the orphan tab get removed automatically, or should I do this manually?
Thanks for your time
Kognos (talk) 10:49, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
- A tag like that one does not get removed automatically. It is added by users and must be removed by users. If you feel issue(s) in this or any tag have been addressed, you may remove it yourself, as long as you explain why you are removing it in either the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thanks JonnyOSullivan (talk) 17:13, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've added one reference (the interview) and removed the unreferenced tag from We Will Bury You (comics). The other two aren't appropriate as references. The first one is primarily a blog which is not usually appropriate as a reliable source, and also I cannot find any information on the article that was referenced from that site anyway. The second link you gave is invalid when I try it. --Mysdaao talk 19:09, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Added Template & Category
I'd like your opinion on something that I have noticed on a page that I watch. The last two edits on One_Potato,_Two_Potato include adding a template called 'Films Directed by Larry Peerce', and a category of a similar title.
My question is, doesn't this seem to be redundant?? Twice??
I don't see the point of either of these contributions, as anyone wanting to view other work by Larry Peerce, can click on the infobox link to his page. Additionally, if this is seen as a needed edit, then wouldn't it stand to reason that additional templates and categories be added for each of the film's actors, and other production personnel??Yunchie (talk) 16:55, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's not redundant. The purpose of both categories and navigation templates is to group related articles together for navigation. The same information can be read on Larry Peerce but it's in prose format. Categories and navigation templates allow easier access to related articles, but in different ways with different advantages and disadvantages to each. For example, the navigation template Template:Larry Peerce allows gives more information like the year of each release, while the category Category:Films directed by Larry Peerce is part of a category system that is good exploring the knowledge of Wikipedia. All of the formats aren't in conflict with each other, they're just different. Please see Wikipedia:Categories, lists, and navigation templates if you'd like to read more.
- If there were categories and templates for other actors and film crew, then they probably should be added, but they don't exist and probably not going to be created. In the past, that's generally been considered overcategorization.
- Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 15:54, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, that sort of makes sense. I can see the point of the template being on the Larry Peerce page, but it still seems redundant on the film page, when there is already a link to Peerce. Yunchie (talk) 13:48, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
- Navigation templates are designed to provide links between related articles both ways, so that's why they're put on the films' articles. It would defeat the purpose to only put them on the Larry Peerce article. --Mysdaao talk 13:22, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Oriya Wikipedia
Hello, dear Mysdaao! I'm looking for help to upgrade the Oriya wikipedia. You don't need to be upset if you don't know the language Oriya, but you will have to help me create templates, userboxes and style for this undeveloped but essential wiki. Also you may discuss with other users who can create templates and colourful boxes (I don't know how to describe, but just like the ones in the main page). It will be very nice if you help me. Thanks, --Sainsf<^> (talk) 06:13, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'd like to help, but I'm not sure how much help I can provide. Any templates created in the Oriya Wikipedia should use the Oriya language, which I don't know at all. Also, the main page is protected and can only be edited by administrators. I can point you to what templates you'll need created in the Oriya Wikipedia, but you or someone will have to translate them and ask an administrator there to edit the main page. --Mysdaao talk 17:01, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hello there! I repeat, you needn't worry about the Oriya language, I know the lang very well (I'm a native). All you've to help in is to point what templates are required and how to create 'em , if you can. It is not necessary to get to know about the colourful boxes in the main page, but just how to create the stuff. Got it? And another fact, please don't just reply here, you should place a talkback on my talk page for the sake of conveniece. Thanks, --Sainsf<^> (talk) 12:34, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll do my best to help. Just let me know what it is you want to create or recreate and I'll help you get started. --Mysdaao talk 00:44, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- It should be something like this to be at the end of each article under the wiki-
- or:Template:Navbox, or:Template:·, and other necessary template already exist on the Oriya Wikipedia, but they do not display the same way (see or:Template:States and territories of India). The Oriya Wikipedia is missing some code needed to display the same way. See the top of Template talk:Navbox where the page talks about how to copy the template to local wikis. The Oriya Wikipedia is missing its own version of MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Common.js. Only administrators on the Oriya Wikipedia can create pages in its MediaWiki namespace, so you'll have to ask an administrator there to copy those pages over for navbox templates to display the same way. --Mysdaao talk 14:20, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks Mysdaao for your help. I will proceed to an administrator, and if required any help I will come to you! You deserve an award!!! Cheers.--Sainsf<^> (talk) 14:02, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

This user is currently active at en.Wikinews. You are free to talk at this talk page. This user may also look here, but rarely. Thanks, --Sainsf<^> (talk) 06:06, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- This worked well. But the navbox (above) was well, but uncoloured. How can I add colour to it? Thanks, --Sainsf<^> (talk) 14:40, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- It looks correct to me. On your user page on the Oriya Wikipedia, the color there looks the same as the color here and on your English Wikipedia talk page. I see a black text on a light blue background, with a dark blue border, and an image on the left. What part of it do you see differently? --Mysdaao talk 14:49, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't know you're online! However, I said about navbox. It is found uncoloured, for instance, try copying the code of the one above. And another thing I want to add, take a look through your user page. There's a nice surprise, if you find, do reply! Cheers! --Sainsf<^> (talk) 14:54, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't see that the word navbox the first time.
- The color will be added when MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Common.js are copied to the Oriya Wikipedia. As a test, I just copied those files to my personal CSS and JS pages (here and here) on the Oriya Wikipedia, and then I could see the navbox colors. You can do the same thing to try it out, but like I said, an administrator has to create the real versions there for everyone to see it correctly.
- Thank you so much for the barnstar! I'm always glad to help and I appreciate you taking the time to write that. As always, please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 15:18, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Font
Does anyone ever query the sans serif font currently in use? On another site I came across a Verdi opera which looked like EMANI, when I know it should be ERNANI, and went to the Verdi page to check. There, it too looks like EMANI. Very close examination shows that it is inded ERNANI - but surely there shouldn't be a need to investigate due to these dreadful sans serif fonts? At 76, my eyesight can't possibly be as good as it was years ago but all ages need to be catered for! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Segilla (talk • contribs) 18:29, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- If you're having trouble, there are options to change how Wikipedia is displayed. First, try changing the skin by clicking My preferences at the top of the page, going to the Appearance tab, and selecting a different skin. You might find a different skin that you can more easily.
- You can also try changing the font and size options in your browser. Normally, the web browser will let the website set the font, but this can be changed. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools->Internet Options, click Accessibility, check "Ignore font styles on webpages" and "Ignore font styles on webpages", and click OK. Then press Fonts, and you can select any font you want. If the size is too small, press Ctrl and + at the same to increase the font of the page, and Ctrl and - at the same time to decrease the font of the page. If you're using a different browser (such as Firefox) the way to change these options will be different.
- Hopefully you can use one or more of these methods to make it easier for you to read and edit Wikipedia. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 17:16, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks Mysdaao. I will try your suggestions. But I recall complaining about non serif typefaces 25 or more years ago when 'burn' looked like 'bum' - and still can do!Segilla (talk) 23:43, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Leslie Fuller
Your article on Leslie Fuller states that, with his brother Dave, performed in the Silloth Pierrots. According to my records, he didn't have a brother called Dave - there was William Dollar and Ernest John. Ernest performed under his own name so did William take on the name of Dave? 92.17.227.164 (talk) 17:50, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
- It's not "my" article. No single editor owns any article on Wikipedia. All articles are written collaboratively by multiple users, and I am just one user to edit Leslie Fuller. I didn't add the information you're referring to, so I can't answer your question. I suggest you either ask your question on the article's talk page at Talk:Leslie Fuller, or look at the article's page history to see which editor added that information, and ask him or her. Please let me know if I can help out in any other way. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 18:23, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Emma Cons plesse see her page
I managed to add a Reference section without using a template. Now I can't understand the template system which it seems I must use which will cause the 3 items shown under Ref No 1. to be moved to appear under a separate Notes section. In the various efforts to try to get this right I think I must have deleted an existing Notes section. Oh for some idiot-proof *examples* in the instructions! Segilla (talk) 19:22, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Are you asking about making the three references appear like the other one, or creating a separate section?
- If you are asking the template for references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for examples. Basically, if you want to create footnotes, put something like this:

- in the body of the article next to the information that the reference supports, and put:
reflist
- at the end of the article in a section titled Notes or References to display the references, so it all looks like this:
Article text[1]
- ^ Reference text
- If you are asking about how to create separate sections, see Help:Section for examples. To add a new section, add this:
Section title
- to create a new section. You can look at existing sections on Emma Cons to see how they look.
- Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 20:39, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Naming references
Hello again, Mysdaao! Well, I'm again here with a question.
How do they name the references, like that:
1. ^ a b c Author, A. (2007). "How to cite references", New York: McGraw-Hill.
I read this but couldn't understand. Thanks, --Sainsf<^> (talk) 14:29, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sainsf, here's how you name references. The first time a reference name is used, it should look like this:

- and the other times that reference name is used, it should look like this:

- so then it will display like this:
Article text.[1] Article text.[1]
- "name1" is just the example name I used. The reference name can be anything you want, as long as you reuse it exactly. Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners#Same reference used more than once is also a good resource for understanding this. Please let me know if there are any more questions. 'Wikipedia:Wikikarma'
Wikipedia:Wikikarma is a page I just recently came across. It is inappropriate for the encyclopedia. It isn't the way we write an article on Wikipedia. What should be done to it? --Sainsf<^> (talk) 13:17, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Wikikarma is not an article. Because it has the "Wikipedia:" prefix, it is in the project namespace, which is for pages concerning the Wikipedia project itself. TU for ur swift reply
Well, here's the problem: 1) You know what biographies have on the talk page as a warning. 2) And you know I was acussed of being a sock. Put the two together and you have the ultimate defamation of character of the subject of the biography. Cute trick. For damage control, I have to vanish. Bridgetttttttebabblepoop 01:07, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Just try to remember that it was one user who opened the sockpuppet investigation. One user out of many, and it was closed soon after. So the defamation is coming from a very, very small part of the entire Wikipedia community, and I think the "damage" is a lot smaller than you think. I suggest taking a wikibreak first and then making a decision on whether you want to retire from Wikipedia. --Mysdaao talk 01:56, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kindness, but I am not suited whatsoever to deal with these matters. I just want out and expunged, and maybe I put that in the right spot as a request, but it doesn't seem to have gone thru yet. A ten pound hammmer is dealing with it, I think. Hi Mysdaao! I'm not sure if you remember me, I imagine all the new users you've helped in your time might merge into one, but I remember you. In my early days as an editor, you helped me with a number of things, and your eagerness to do so and extraordinarily kind manner were a huge part in me deciding to stay, and have been a great inspiration to me ever since. This morning (UTC), I became an administrator, and I felt it appropriate to drop by and let you know that whatever small amount of good I do for the project (now and in the future) is thanks largely to the effort you made to be helpful when I started. There are probably hundreds of other editors like me out there, whose participation in this project is thanks to you. As a small token of my appreciation, please accept this barnstar along with my thanks. -- Lear's Fool 02:24, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

- Of course I remember you. Congratulations on becoming an administrator! Thank you very much for the barnstar. It is much appreciated. Normally I end these comments with an open-ended offer to answer any questions or help with any issues that come up, but I can see you no longer need such assistance. So instead I'll say that I know you'll be an excellent administrator, and keep up the great work! --Mysdaao talk 13:43, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Fairport Harbor, Ohio - Natural Gas Incident
I would appreciate your opinion on the inclusion of a section surrounding a current news event (2011 Natural Gas Incident) in the community of Talk:Fairport_Harbor,_Ohio by editor, User:Mapsax. Both myself and another editor have deleted this section on the grounds that it was not appropriate content for an encyclopedic article.Yunchie (talk) 03:42, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- My opinion is that it doesn't blatantly violate any Wikipedia policy, but it doesn't belong in the article Fairport Harbor, Ohio. From the references that were used, the incident did not get coverage beyond local news, and it won't be considered a significant event in the town's history in the future. If one of these things changes, then it can be added back later, but as it stands now, I agree with its removal. --Mysdaao talk 13:55, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

'Message from Mysdaao'
Hi Mysdaao.
That's what appeared when I went to look up a Wiki article - but l can't see that there is anything for me here.Segilla (talk) 20:16, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- Are you referring to the section titled "Talkback" on your talk page? From the time and date after the message, you can see I wrote that on November 15, 2010. I was referring to the message I wrote in response to you in the section called "Font", which is now in my archive. In other words, it was an old message that was moved to another page, and you probably saw it already. If you meant something else, please let me know. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 15:40, 19 February 2011 (UTC)
Help
Could you help me? My article on Greek basketball player, Chris Roupas, appears to be vandalized. Under the External Links, I have a link for Basketball In Greece, it now says "Hola, me llamo Andy". I can't find where to remove that and get the page back to what is was. It did look like this before the vandalism:

- Sorry to bother you, but I removed the links and then re-inserted tham, and this appears to have removed the vandalism. Have a great day MysdaaoPSUSTATS (talk) 20:37, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- The "hola me llamo Andy" text you saw on Chris Roupas was actually due to vandalism on Template:International basketball which was fixed by another user. clarification about a Block
Hello, My name is Epstein27 and I am the CIO of Worcester Academy (our wikipage is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worcester_Academy). I have one of the employees at the school monitoring our school's page and making sure that all of our noted alumni connect back to us. Recently he received the following message and I was not sure why, nor could I figure out who the person was who blocked him.
Editing User:Tatnuck From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search
This user is currently blocked. The latest block log entry is provided below for reference:
* 14:57, 14 March 2011 JamesBWatson (talk | contribs) blocked Tatnuck (talk | contribs) (account creation blocked) with an expiry time of 1 week (Using Wikipedia for spam or advertising purposes)
I know that this user was not trying to advertise, or spam anyone, and in fact he did not know what this message meant, which is why I am investigating. Could you possibly shed some light on this for me so I can get this employee back to this part of his job?
Thanks,
Epstein27 (talk) 23:25, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- The user, Tatnuck, was blocked for one week by the administrator JamesBWatson. The reason for the block was for using Wikipedia for advertising. You can see on his talk page that he received multiple warnings for the external links he was adding to articles, with explanations of why they were inappropriate. As you can also see from his contributions, he was adding a link to Worcester Academy's website in the bodies of many, many articles. This is a violation of Wikipedia's policy on external links (you can read it at Wikipedia:External links). Whether or not he was intending to advertise, it certainly appeared that he was doing a lot of external link spamming, which is also against Wikipedia policy (see Wikipedia:LINKSPAM).
- The block lasts one week, so the employee will be able to edit again on March 21. If you want, you can talk to the administrator on his talk page User talk:JamesBWatson, but I doubt he'll lift the block sooner. Also, you should know that he or anyone affiliated with Worcester Academy is strongly discouraged from editing articles associated with it because it is a clear conflict of interest and leads to problems like what has occurred. More can be read about the guidelines at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.
- Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 03:17, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
Problem with Ref numbering
Hi Mysdaao
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuillin
I have tried and tried to fix it so that the ref [2] appears after the final sentence.
All sorts of resultant problems had arisen causing totatl perplexment (if there is such a word), so eventually I hit upon Cut the final sentence and Paste immediately before the penultimate one - but the ref has changed to [1]
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cuillin&action=submit
There is already a correct [1] earlier in the article.
TKS for advice Segilla (talk) 21:24, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Sorry. Part was nonsense.
... Paste immediately after the penultimate one, but before the [2]. However the [2] has changed to [1] Segilla (talk) 21:42, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I don't see the problem on Cuillin. You correctly added reference #2 after the second to last sentence in the History section. The original reference that was #1 is still #1. Can you give more information on what it is you're trying to do? --Mysdaao talk 12:38, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Still perplexed as all is now in order as you say. Wiki, ore more likely me, was having a bad day.
My apologies. Segilla (talk) 02:08, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Picture has disappeared
Hello Mysdaao, I would like to ask your help again. In my article, Chris Roupas, a photo has disappeared, it's photo box is still on the page but it is blank. It is a black and white photo on the left of the page under the section called United States Ahepa All Star Basketball Team. Here is the wording for it:
When you click on the box, it does take you to the photo, but somehow this evening it doesn't show up anymore on the wikipedia page. The wording still shows up when you go to edit it, so I don't know where to look next. Thank you for any help you could offer.PSUSTATS (talk) 03:30, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- The image displays for me exactly where you say it should be in Chris Roupas. It may have been a temporary glitch on Wikipedia, or you may have accidentally blocked the image in your browser. If you still can't see the picture, please tell me what browser and version you are using, and I can try to help you see the picture again. --Mysdaao talk 13:51, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Signature
Hi Mysdaao, long time since I met you! Here is another query. I thought to change my signature-add colour to it to make it attractive. I tried help from here and here. But whenever I made any modifications, something went wrong. I hope you help me colour my signature: I wish my 'user name' appear cream and the 'user talk' purple. Help. --Sainsf <^> (talk) 10:40, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- To do this, add this code to the Signature section under your preferences:
<font color="#FFFDD0">Sainsf <^></font> <font color="black">(</font><font color="purple">talk</font><font color="black">)</font>
- and check the box that says, "Treat the above as wiki markup". Cream is not recognized by name in the HTML font tag, so I'm using its hex equivalent #FFFDD0. I suggest you don't use cream as a text color because it is very hard to read it on a white background. Here's what the signature I gave will look like with cream:
- Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 13:27, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. I tried doing as you said, but still then the preferences are not being saved. It still appears like this-<font color="#FFFDD0">Sainsf <^></font> <font color="black">(</font><font color="purple">talk</font><font color="black">)</font> (talk) 07:46, 30 April 2011 (UTC).
- Make sure the box labeled "Treat the above as wiki markup" is checked when you save on your preferences. Also, try editing this section, copying what I wrote directly from the code, and paste it for your signature. Copying it from the displayed page may cause problems.
- Try these things and let me know if they work. --Mysdaao talk 18:28, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Help with Common Eland
Hello Mysdaao! I need your help with fixing up an article. If you can, please fix up the references of the Common Eland article. I find it a bit difficult all by myself and I would like your help if possible, else I am sorry for disturbing you, seeing you are semi-retired. Thanks in advance. --Sainsf <^> (talk) 13:48, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
- What specifically about the references do you think needs fixing? --Mysdaao talk 17:05, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well, the citations do not seem to meet the WP:RS, as said at the peer review and the good article review it has undergone. If you think there are other problems to be fixed as well, please help, as I have been working since days to make this a good article. --Sainsf <^> (talk) 05:09, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
- I don't see anything I can do. The main referencing problem, as pointed out in the peer review and good article review, is that parts of the article are unsourced, and some of the sources are not considered reliable. I don't have the expertise to know where to find reliable sources that are needed for this information. I'm sorry, but I don't think I can help with this article. --Mysdaao talk 20:57, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Link leads to adverts
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quince.
The link at the foot of this article, History and Recipes, leads to the Waitrose (UK Supermarket) site. True, it allows access to some recipes but none about quinces. Nothing against Waitrose, a fine company, but it seems to me to be advertising. Segilla (talk) 18:50, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
- I don't believe it was originally meant as advertising. The actual link itself in the article is to http://www.waitrose.com/food/celebritiesandarticles/ingredients/2007/October/Ingredient_Quince.aspx, but it now redirects to http://www.waitrose.com/. Most likely the original page linked to had information about the history and recipes of quince. But since that page no longer is accessible and it redirects to the company's main site, the link is no longer appropriate and should be removed. --Mysdaao talk 00:40, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry to be dense, but can I take it that this quince page has now been changed since there is no longer any 'History and Recipes' at its foot?Segilla (talk) 14:23, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- That's right. It was first changed on November 30 so the link pointed to the main site, and then the link was removed altogether. --Mysdaao talk 18:30, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Barry Cooper musicologist
This man has his own page but was not listed in notable inhabitants of Westcliff on Sea. I attempted to remedy this but the link I made pointed to the Barry Cooper disambiguation page, not to Barry Cooper the musicologist.
Using the John Smith explorer example I have attempted to correct my error but think after many efforts I've simply gone round in a circle.
This is what I have input - but see preview for my formatting
- Barry Cooper (musicologist; born in the town)
Please point out where I am wrong. Segilla (talk) 15:25, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- You want a link pointing to Barry Cooper (musicologist) that displays the text "Barry Cooper". This is how you do it.
- Barry Cooper creates Barry Cooper. Put the article name first, then a |, then the text to display to the user.

Speedy deletion nomination of Melingo
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Melingo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. QuickBase
Hi Mysdaao, Thank you for contacting me and the welcome. I do have a question for you. I have been trying to figure out how to edit a Redirect page for QuickBase, which is no longer a part of Intuit. I have used references as proof, etc. but must still be doing something wrong as the Editor for the page keeps reverting my changes without explanation. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=QuickBase&action=history Would you kindly look at his history and inform me if I should start a new page for the newly independent, divested from Intuit, company, QuickBase, Inc. or is it possible to correctly edit a redirect page as I've been trying the past few weeks? Best, Alexf42016 (talk) 20:38, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Alexf42016: There is no single editor for QuickBase or any other page. Any article can be edited by anyone (except for a few limitations). This particular user, SwisterTwister, happens to be editing QuickBase to revert your changes, and he is explaining why in his edit summaries, that you can see page's history. SwisterTwister doesn't believe the company to be notable enough to have its own page. You are editing the redirect correctly, but the content doesn't meet the notability guidelines at Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Please read that page to understand more. If you wish, you can also leave a message on his talk page User talk:SwisterTwister to discuss it with him. Thanks. --Mysdaao talk 01:46, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
Question: Would a multi-billion dollar company's news release qualify as an appropriate source when citing sources for History of its division that is now its own company? or must it still be from a third-party source never affiliated with the new company? Thank you. Alexf42016 (talk) 17:04, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
- @Alexf42016: A press release can be used to verify some content, but only after notability has been established by using sources independent of the subject that have written about it. See Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)#Independence of sources. --Mysdaao talk 00:49, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
My page was rejected for news release sources mentioned above, and since I have updated the page to remove them and add many more notable sources. Now that more than 3 weeks has gone by for the page to be reviewed again, how do I politely ask that someone review the page or see if I need to do anything else to notify an editor on the page itself? Is it in limbo or just amongst a large backlog of requests? Seems it was resubmitted correctly? "This page is a new unreviewed article. This template should be removed once the page has been reviewed by someone other than its creator; if necessary the page should be appropriately tagged for cleanup. (May 2016)" Thank you Alexf42016 (talk) 21:02, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Alexf42016: It was resubmitted correctly, and it's now in the large backlog of approximately 800 submissions, some of which are older than yours. It's in the proper lists and categories for reviewers to see. There's nothing more you need to do, and there isn't any place designated for requesting a review. I hope this helps. --Mysdaao talk 05:15, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
