White negroes? edit

There is no such article. Where would the confusion come from? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 15:53, 8 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

A person reading the title "The White Negro" might think the article is about people who call themselves, or are called by others, "white negroes." Jaque Hammer (talk) 15:55, 8 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Norman Thaddeus Vane edit

Please see Talk:Norman Thaddeus Vane. I have removed the source you complained about. Hopefully you are now satisfied? -- Cirt (talk) 16:47, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jive turkey edit

I saw this article, as a redirect to Fool, and realised the target was an inappropriate one (the meanings are not similar; neither article mentions the other). It got to this stage after you PRODded it and another editor changed to the redirect, implicitly contesting the prod thus preventing it being PRODded again. If you still wish for it to be debated/deleted I suggest AfD. I42 (talk) 19:22, 19 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

farangi/franks merger edit

This is pretty borderline, jaque. I'm letting it go because it is borderline and arguments could be made either way. Note that the word farangi and its derivatives exists in several languages and its origin is not absolutely certain. People encountering 'farangi' in Hindi for example may simply want to look it up as a small succint Wikipedia article on its own (as I originally intended). Now, however, they have to plough through a long article on the Franks to find out the word origin. Hardly efficient. Lgh (talk) 02:17, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

They actually should be looking it up in a reference on the Hindi language. Jaque Hammer (talk) 08:35, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Norbert M. Samuelson edit

Are you aware of WP:PROF? Perhaps you will want to withdraw the nomination, so we can do a speedy keep. DGG ( talk ) 22:31, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I have heard of that but never checked it out. I still think an article should have some sources and something to say about the person besides he has a job and wrote some books. Jaque Hammer (talk) 23:50, 8 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
