A barnstar for you!

Thank you so much for showing me the script to standardize all of the dates under MOS. That would've been a large amount of work that I was dreading. Andrew nyr (talk, contribs) 16:28, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
No worries. There is usually a userscript for most things! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:39, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

GAN

Just curious, what's the largest GAN page you have seen? NoahTalk 15:19, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

As in the nomination page? Longer than the article itself! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 21:04, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Probably going to have one approaching 115 to 125% of the article's size (once the article is done entirely)... that would equate to about 160k to 175k bytes. NoahTalk 21:32, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
What's the nom? Pages shouldn't be that long. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 21:47, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Effects of Hurricane Dorian in the Carolinas is the nom. We decided to just use the GAN page to conduct the peer-review rather than separating it out. Tbh I am trying to teach both the nom and the reviewer at this point since neither were really ready. NoahTalk 21:55, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Well, in that case, the first two words are against WP:BOLDAVOID Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:17, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

It will get there eventually... Im more worried about content and proper encyclopedic tone/summarization right now. As you saw, I have torn through quite a bit of the article. I'm waiting for him to finish SC before I go through all of the new content. NoahTalk 23:37, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Draft:Paper Mario (series)

Hello, Lee. Two years ago, you declined the article linked above because it was... well, bad. No hard feelings towards the contributor. Over the past week-ish, I've recreated the article and am about to publish it, once I fill in the empty image placeholders. I was wondering what your initial thoughts were? And yes, I will be nominating this for GA on a later date because Paper Mario is very close to becoming a GT. Panini🥪 14:41, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, even if it was almost slightly better I'd have accepted it. I'm a bit surprised gameplay is uncited, and watch out for WP:CITEKILL (you can try WP:BUNDLING those refs in reception).Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 16:37, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Lee Vilenski, Wow, forgot about citing gameplay. I've only started cite bundling recently, so forgive me on that one. Panini🥪 20:13, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Lee Vilenski, Bundled reception, currently citing gameplay; is this really the only glaring problems you see with the article? Like, "it shouldn't be any problem at GAN" good? Panini🥪 02:16, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Overseas teams in the main competition of the Coupe de France

Hi. I asked for the page nomination in Good Article, but you declined. Would you tell me the reason for this decision? Would you give me any advice on making the page a Good Article or even a Featured Article? Dr Salvus (talk) 17:59, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

You should read WP:WIAGA, and look at our list of good articles for similar articles that should show how these should look. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 18:02, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
Thank you. Get ready because I will now review the page and propose the page nomination to Good Article or higher again. Dr Salvus (talk) 18:07, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Promotion of 1985 World Snooker Championship final

Congratulations, Lee Vilenski! The article you nominated, 1985 World Snooker Championship final, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) via FACBot (talk) 12:06, 12 February 2021 (UTC)

Regarding Ritchie

Hi! I don't want to speak to Ritchie any more. I trust that they are a good editor, but I just feel the way they handled the situation was a little aggressive. Hockeycatcat (talk) 10:58, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Snooker peer review

Hi Lee, I saw that you archived this thread, so I thought I'd start a new one! Just to let you know, I've been slowly chugging away at the Snooker article, I do hope you've been keeping up with it and don't object too much to what I've been doing. I've been having a whale of a time but I think I'm just about running out of steam now and could probably do with thrashing things out with you... I have a general question about the game/frame conundrum which I think I'll put on the Talk page, and the rest I will add to the peer review page fairly soon. Aza24 has highlighted problems with sourcing so that probably needs looking at in detail next, with Benny's help of course. Cheers for now, Rodney Baggins (talk) 18:49, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Aye, you've been doing some fantastic work. I've been a little bit short on time recently, but I'll check it out now. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:05, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
Rodney Baggins - on a short pass, I think if we can get rid of the CN tags, and cite the variants section, a small rewrite of this and we'd be pretty close. I'll see if there is anything else I can point to, but it's had some great work done by yourself. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:27, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi there, I've just pinged you on the peer review page because I think you've missed the detailed comments that I added the other day, straight after I put my progress report on. I appended the comments to my existing Detailed comments section because I didn't want to create too many separate sections, but wanted to keep all my comments together. BTW, I think the Variants section in the Snooker article is definitely looking better now it's been prosified. I'll see if I can make a bit more progress this week with some of the outstanding areas in the article. What are your plans for it, going forward? Cheers, Rodney Baggins (talk) 14:48, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
Just to get the timescales in order - I'd like to nominate for FAC (with your help) to run during the final round of the WP:CUP. That would mean running the nom about half way through July, so we do have a couple more months to get it airtight. Of course, if you can't wait, we could do it earlier - but I'd like those sweet bonus points! I think your comments are spot on, but I have found myself finding other articles (including the miraculous win for Jordan Brown yesterday!) That could do with my help. I'll get some more bits together and a notice of what I think needs the work soon. I agree about the variants, but I think it could probably do with a little bit more.
The idea of additional citing to book sources brings me out in a cold sweat every night, so I have been putting it off! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 17:54, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
