Speedy deletion contested: Veracity of statements by Donald Trump edit

Hello Kb03, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Veracity of statements by Donald Trump, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not blatantly an attack page or negative, unsourced BLP. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ——SerialNumber54129 13:25, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

I am here complaining about this. A cursory inspection of the talk page would have shown you that it was not an attack page and had been based on content taken from the main article on Donald Trump. You should always check the talk page before tagging for speedy deletion. There are often relevant comments to be found. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 13:35, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Frayae: I asked in the wikipedia and someone recommended CSD G10 because it is a clearly biased NPOV article. I'll WP:PROD it and see what the community wants. Kb03 (talk) 13:52, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't recommend it. The NPOV or lack of NPOV is rooted in the formation of identical content in Donald Trump. There is so much debate there that it took me several days to read it, but I am recommending you read it before getting too involved in the politics because it gives a foundation on what is and isn't consensus here on Wikipedia. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 14:00, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
I came across the above article while new page patrolling; to tag it as an attack page is ridiculous. Not only is Trump's lying well-referenced, crucially neither he nor his followers give a flying: it sees to be rather a matter of pride.TheLongTone (talk) 14:56, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@TheLongTone: I tagged it as G10 partially because twinkle says in the info for it "Where there is no NPOV version in the history to revert to". I asked in the wikipedia-en IRC and someone else concurred with me. Kb03 (talk) 14:59, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

FYI Kbo3—whatever the chap on IRC sez  :) —the absolutely relevant part of WP:G10 that effected my contestation of your speedy is or biographical material about a living person that is entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Now; naturally an article titled "Veracity of statements by Donald Trump" is very likely to consist of pretty much negative commentary, but the operative qualification (which I've bolded above) is integral. That is, that it is only an attack page if the negative material is unsourced; which, I think you'll agree, puts in a slightly different light. Anyway, thanks for patrolling new pages, and happy editing! ——SerialNumber54129 15:22, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just an alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have recently shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect: any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or any page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor. Galobtter (pingó mió) 14:21, 25 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pending changes reviewer granted edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Why did you Revert me? edit

Why did you revert me? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical.ly

@130.229.190.198: Hello, thanks for leaving me a message. Always place your message at the bottom of a talk page and always make sure to add ~~~~ to the end of every message. And to respond to your question, I saw Plandu revert your edits and then you undid the revert. I figured Plandu had a reason so I re-rolled it back. Kb03 (talk) 17:52, 25 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Why did you revert me? edit

Hello, I hope this finds you well. I recently edited the 2011 BAFTA Television Awards page to include a table and images as seen on other award pages (see Emmy's, Academy Awards, Golden Globes, other BAFTA pages) but you reverted me. I guess I am asking why? I have no reason to believe my edit was vandalism. 86.170.219.24 (talk) 17:41, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@86.170.219.24: Sorry about that, I misclicked and then promptly undid my rollback. Thanks and happy editing! Kb03 (talk) 17:43, 29 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Reviewer mistake edit

Hi, I noticed that in the page List of Premier League players with 100 or more goals, you accepted an edit where someone changed the number of goals scored by Nicolas Anelka to 765, I'm not sure if that was a technical mistake, but if it wasn't could you please look a bit more carefully at the edits before accepting. Thank you Daiyusha (talk) 07:01, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

New page reviewer granted edit

Hi Kb03. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Minor user rights can now be accorded on a time limited or probationary period, do check back at WP:PERM in case this concerns your application. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encylopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance. so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 10:13, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for reviewing Golem (cryptocurrency), Kb03.

Unfortunately Barkeep49 has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

This seems to be very borderline notable looking at sources not present in the article now. Given that it's crypto I am going to draftify.

NPR Newsletter No.15 16 November 2018 edit

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months.

Hello Kb03/Archives,

Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
  • Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message edit

Hello, Kb03. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Kb03, hoe you're well. I wondered about this; I can't see a link between KidAd and the sockmaster you cite? Atm the former is merely blocked a week under arb enforcement, nothing to do with socking that I can see. Still, I'm easy to fool  :) pinging the blocking admin to doublecheck. Bits renewed edit

Hi Kb03, because your bits were expiring, I have done a spot check of your contributions. I am satisfied that you know how to use rollback correctly and have accordingly granted it permanently. However, I'm not seeing a very strong NPR record, which is an area that requires substantial judgment. I would suggest that you work with an experienced reviewer to get more experience. I probably won't further extend NPR without substantial additional experience in NPR. Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 01:30, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Syed Jafar al-Qa’im edit

Hello Kb03. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Syed Jafar al-Qa’im, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: people who lived 1300+ years ago are almost always significant since there must be sources to know about them all this time later. Thank you. SoWhy 08:48, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Too Hasty edit

Hi, please give new articles at least 12 minutes before you tag or move them as you just now moved an article to draft after just one minute and while it was being written which is far too quick, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 14:36, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Atlantic306: Will do! Kb03 (talk) 14:38, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

G5 edit

Just a quick note with G5 speedy deletions - G5 only applies if the page hasn't had significant contributions from someone other than the banned or blocked user (excluding things like reverts of vandalism, minor edits, template formatting changes, etc). So Technical auxiliary battalion doesn't qualify because most of the content was written by Helveticus96, who isn't banned. Hut 8.5 22:07, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Hut 8.5: I think you might be mistaken or I read something wrong. I didn't tag that page as G5, that would've been user:R9tgokunks. I looked over my contribs and the page history and didn't see anything from me. Kb03 (talk) 22:19, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Oh sorry, I declined two G5 speedy deletions one after the other and thought they were the same person. Something similar applies to Yeni Mosque, Komotini though. Hut 8.5 22:23, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Alright, as you can see, I have no idea what I'm doing. I wish to add some of my (actual) knowledge that I have accumulated as a student at FFHS and hereby pledge NOT the vandalize pages, instead I will use the sandbox like you said. I also hope you could help me learn the ropes here, that would be great.

Hope to hear from you soon.

@Set, god of chaos: Hello and thanks for the message! I appreciate that you're trying to update your school's Wikipedia article and I did use the wrong warning. It should've been an unsourced material instead of vandalism. Here on Wikipedia, we use sources to verify the content we add to articles. To add it back you would need to find a source that could back the materials up. Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for trying to talk this out first. If you have any more questions you can go to [| this link] and click on Connect to the English Wikipedia Help Channel. If you say Kb03 in the channel I will get a mention and I can assist you farther. If you don't need urgent support, leave me another talk page message like you just did. Welcome and Happy Editing!
