Your recent creations edit

Can you please explain to me why do you create articles when you're clearly making them with ZERO effort? Clear examples are Héctor Martínez (Spanish footballer) and Antonio Perera, and I'm pretty sure that a LOT more would look like them.

Please improve your creations, you were once blocked and it seems like you didn't learn a thing until now. Competence is required. MYS77 02:30, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

@MYS77:, I am not making them with "zero" effort but I will improve. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 06:10, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Please check the difference between your last edit and the latest version of both articles that I've pointed you to see what should be done in some parts. It's okay if you don't want to develop the storyline like I did, but a correct infobox and some decent references to back up the article are required. Cheers, MYS77 17:27, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to defend Das osmnezz and say that their articles are quite good considering how obscure some of the footballers are. There's always at least one good source. We have to start somewhere and at least the footballers are generally notable enough to pass WP:NFOOTBALL and referenced to more than just database websites like Soccerway or World Football. Also, no typos generally and they come with an infobox and correct categories. I am interested where you get the appearance stats for Mateusz Marzec though... Spiderone 22:02, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Spiderone:, I got the appearance stats from 90minut. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 22:11, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Please, consider some of the corrections that I and other users like @MYS77: make to your articles. They really are simple things having to do with the infoboxes and format that there is no reason for us to continue correcting. Thank you for all your contributions, it really is appreciated but it gets pretty repetitive fixing the exact same problems on each of your articles. All it should take is one look at another footballer article (or our corrections on yours) to see the correct formats. I suggest copy-pasting the infobox from another footballer article and filling in the specifics for the footballer you are writing about. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 09:57, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@JTtheOG: That was exactly my point. It's pretty tiring to fix the very same mistakes in all of those articles he/she creates. The two I've cited before were done in such a rush (or such a negligence) that they didn't even match with the simplest source to look into, Soccerway. Both were missing simple things that a quick look into other normal sources would've easily done the trick. MYS77 15:57, 31 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

I note that an increasing number of your article creations - which I have always felt have been largely poor/of questionable worth - have been deleted due to notability failures. Please can you confirm what you intend to do about it - do you intend to slow down, seek input from other editors before publishing, or will we need to seek sanctions/restrictions against you again? GiantSnowman 22:00, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ping to @JTtheOG and MYS77: who have raised concerns with you previously. GiantSnowman 22:01, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
As I previously said, I think it's okay if you don't want to develop a very complete storyline, but your articles (when not deleted) have simple issues of infobox standards and/or simple information issues (dates of birth formatting, place of birth missing, height missing, wrong club info)... I would say that you should focus on creating a good article instead of creating 10/20 where all of them are of poor quality. Plus, please remind to follow WP:FOOTY/Players. Cheers, MYS77 22:50, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@GiantSnowman:, From now on I will only create articles of players that clearly satisfy WP:FOOTY/Players, who have not just made few appearances/minutes and not pass WP:GNG. I have tried and will continue trying my best to have correct formatting both in infobox and the article. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 23:34, 28 January 2021 (UTC).Reply
I have checked a sample of your recent article creations. Despite what you said above, not one of those I checked had good enough sourcing to establish that their subjects satisfy the general notability guideline. I very strongly advise you to stop trying to create as many articles about footballers as you can, and instead concentrate on creating a much smaller number for which you do provide sufficient sourcing. Otherwise you are likely to be blocked from editing again, and in view of the number of times that has happened before, including two indefinite blocks, you may well be approaching a situation where you will find it much more difficult to ge unblocked. JBW (talk) 21:42, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@JBW:, Thanks for the feedback. I will try to put as many sources as possible (and not just one or two) about all my articles about footballers from now on to establish that theysatisfy the general notability guideline. I also will not rush. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 22:34, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Just to avoid any risk of misunderstanding, I should perhaps say that I have no idea whether the players you have written about satisfy the notability guidelines or not. I hope they do, and if so I hope you can provide suitable sources. JBW (talk) 23:15, 4 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Tan Binliang edit

Hello, Das osmnezz

Thank you for creating Tan Binliang, I do believe that this page meets Wikipedia's Wikipedia:GNG and Wikipedia:FOOTY/Players guidelines. Unfortunately I do believe that this article is lacking: The Club career/ Career section is written in bullet points (this is an article), the Infobox is spotty and missing major gaps and you are missing a Career statistics section a major part of the Wikipedia:FOOTY/Players guidelines.

On your user talk page I have read numerous people criticizing your work but few give out any actual solutions. Here are my thoughts on solutions to issues I have with your article.

When writing in the Club career section you are creating a narrative/ storyline, unfortunately in the Wikipedia:FOOTY/Players guide it doesn't actually give you a template on what to write but here are my basic suggestions:

  • When the player was signed
  • When they made their debut
  • When they scored their first goal
  • Any major event while they were at the club i.e. winning a trophy, promotion, relegation etc

You have been criticized for making "zero effort" in your editing by User:MYS77, while I do believe that is excessive language, in the case for the spotty Infobox you could of gone to languages on the sidebar it would of given you the Chinese version of this article and it would have given you all the information that you required to not only fix the gaps in the infobox but given a fuller account of Tan Binliang. While this may have been in Chinese, this could of easily been translated on google translate. More importantly I have seen that you are well aware of Baidu Baike after you edited Wang Zixiang. Why then did you not make the effort to see to see if Tan Binliang had a page on that website? because he does, this again would have given you a fuller account of this person. While I don't agree that you made "zero effort" in your editing I do believe that you did not give your full effort and it shows.

Please add a Career statistic section, the Wikipedia:FOOTY/Players requires it. A complete version will show that you know everything about this persons professional career. The extra work you put into this section would have filled the gaps in the infobox as well.

Finally I highly suggest that you read the Thierry Henry page because it is a gold star page. While I do not expect you to be writing a gold star article you will at least understand what is required of you and hopefully you will strive to edit something as good because that is what you are being judged on.

Louis Moss edit

The source does not support what you said, so why did you add it? GiantSnowman 16:44, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@GiantSnowman:, the article said "Moss, who spent a four-month spell playing for Ventura County Fusion in the United States Premier Development League". Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 16:49, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for clarifying - I searched for 'United States', 'USA' and 'America' and nothing came up. Strange. In any event please do not add such references to the lede, better served in the main body, where I re-located the ref. GiantSnowman 17:19, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Konrad Domoń moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Konrad Domoń, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. scope_creepTalk 13:02, 12 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Moussa Bakayoko edit

The article Moussa Bakayoko has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not pass WP:NFOOTY, as their league is not recognized at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Unsourced edit

Hi, please stop adding unsourced sentences in player biographies. Every sentence must be sourced, thanks. Nehme1499 21:13, 10 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please remember this. You keep adding unsourced sentences... Also, please follow the manual of style at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players, and don't write seasons as "2018/19", rather as "2018–19". The career statistics table shouldn't have stuff like "-|-" (look at the players manual of style). Thanks, Nehme1499 15:42, 20 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499:, I will source all sentences in my pages from now on. Also, I already have been wroting seasons as "2018–19". I will look at the playerd manualm of style for tables. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 16:14, 20 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Christian Saydee edit

Hello Das osmnezz,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Christian Saydee for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Proposed deletion of Christian Saydee edit

The article Christian Saydee has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Drafts edit

I have moved some of your recent additions back to draftspace. This is because of the glaring holes in the infobox. When the sources are so readily available and you even included them in the article, I expect that these sources are used to fill out the missing years at least, instead of piling such tasks onto other editors. Thanks in advance. Geschichte (talk) 15:57, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Geschichte: I've been having "problems" with this user's new articles for a while. While not glaringly disruptive behaviour, having to constantly "clean up" their bad formatting is infuriating. Check the discussion above (#Unsourced). Nehme1499 16:02, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Geschichte:, @Nehme1499:, I will not have any missing years on my articles from now on if I have sources and will add the WikiProjects in the talk page. Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 17:23, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Das osmnezz: Which article do you use to copy-and-paste the information (as a template) for new article you create? Nehme1499 17:49, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499:, I do not use a specific article to copy and paste info as a template for new articles. Would you reccomend I do that? Thanks for the feedback, Das osmnezz (talk) 18:15, 10 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ideally, take one of your created articles I have reviewed/corrected, and try to use that as a sample for future articles. Nehme1499 18:49, 11 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Nehme1499:, This is unrelated but on August 23 I created a page, Alex Cvetkovic. After that, however, User:Davidlofgren1996 created the page of the same player and named it something else- Alexander Cvetković. After that, he removed my article and redirected it to his even though I created it first. Is that allowed? Thanks, Das osmnezz (talk) 07:25, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi all, just to clarify this situation: I went to create this page on 23 August as Alexander Cvetković, as this is his name according to Soccerway and WorldFootball, two reputable sites. Once I had created the page, I went to create redirects at Alexander Cvetkovic, Alex Cvetković and Alex Cvetkovic, before realising a page had already been created, which I then redirected to the (presumably) correctly spelled article. @Das osmnezz: in future, when creating articles for people with names with accents, or names that could be shortened/lengthened, you must create redirects (in this case, just a simple page reading "#REDIRECT Alexander Cvetković"). If you had done that in this case, I would've realised that a page had already been created, and we could then have had a quick discussion regarding the "correct" spelling/accents, and gone from there. Thanks. Davidlofgren1996 (talk) 10:17, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ideally, take one of your created articles I have reviewed/corrected, and try to use that as a sample for future articles. Please remember this. Your articles are still poorly formatted. Nehme1499 16:06, 21 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
