Wiki Campus Radio

I note with interest the Radio Wikipedia brodcasts.

There are efforts underway on Wikiversity to get Wiki Campus Radio statrted.

Your input would be appreciated ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 21:46, 24 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would love to be part of this. I'm not at all active on Wikiversity, but I'll do some research. Is there a page? I'll look now! StewieGriffin! • Talk Sign Listen 15:50, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wiki_Campus_Radio and start content production, and spread the word. I want WCR to succed where other projects like freematrix and hypatia have not.

On a currently relevant note, Presently there are efforts to get a Halloween play-list ready at VERY short notice - See the talk page here: http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Talk:Wiki_Campus_Radio/Active_audio_stream

Link material and suitably 'free' music is what's needed, feel free to ask for more information in the #wikiversity IRC channel. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 16:48, 25 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Thesims3cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Thesims3cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:16, 14 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability

{{helpme}} What's the point of the Notability guidelines? There's nothing really to write about now, and surely the encyclopedia would be much better. CTurnbull (talk) 17:33, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

We can't just have arbitrary content, thus there is an inclusion criteria. There is still lots to write about - the world is not over yet. neuro(talk) 17:36, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I can't honestly think of one thing I could write about! --CTurnbull (talk) 17:37, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well then, come down to SEWP and help us out - we have tons of missing stuff. :D neuro(talk) 17:52, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
How about adding content to the 2million articles or so that need it? We don't need new articles, we need better ones with more information. Fritzpoll (talk) 18:48, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Help Needed

Hi. Tomorrow, I am going out for my annual last minute xmas shopping. However, I normally use the Tyne and Wear Metro service. I want to updated the metro pages and Eldon Square/Northumberland Street with newer pictures. Anyway, to the question, is there a license I can use on Wikipedia/Commons for images which I hold the copyright to, and want to give these up for free use, but still want to be credited for? Thanks CTurnbull (talk) 12:25, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

commons:Commons:Contributing_your_own_work#Step_6:_Choosing_a_license is pretty helpful with this. {{self|GFDL|cc-by-3.0}} would probably be best for what you're hoping to accomplish. either way (talk) 12:33, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. --CTurnbull (talk) 12:35, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
