Hi there - I was wondering why you removed my external link that I updated yesterday evening? Click the opta stats from the following page - http://footballtalentspotter.com/player/francescfabregas-4626.aspx - it has ALL of Fabregas' statistics for the forthcoming season - I really think most Gooners would appreciate this type of information and I was wondering if you'd allow me to place the external link back there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.148.120.128 (talk) 11:11, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Cesc Fàbregas

Hi. Before everything I exuse me for my poor english. I'd like to insert in the article the Cite...template' and update some "dead links", like in the it.wiki. Why not? It would be a good thing, because it would meet the FA criteria.--Andrea 93 (msg) 08:20, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Ok. So I'm gonna change only the dead links (in particular arsenal.com links).--Andrea 93 (msg) 09:57, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Done. Only two links are still dead: notes number 5 and number 44. I don't know how to resolve the problem, maybe we should find other citations or simply delete them. But, when we'll resolve the problems, why don't we try for a FA nomination? I think the article is good!--Andrea 93 (msg) 14:01, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok. I'll do it in the it.wiki, where the criterion are less strict ;).--Andrea 93 (msg) 14:18, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes. I checked the license link. It's in hebrew, so I can't judge the validity. looks like a blog or something, which is not inconsistent with the uploader's claim. If you want to challenge the license, that's one thing, but it is a much better picture. Also, an edit summary might help others determine your reasoning for the reversion. Just a thought. Citation templates

Regarding this edit, I understand your point but surely the use of citation templates has to start somewhere. I would have thought it more sensible to move towards converting the existing references rather than just keep adding them without templates. If we don't start using them now then the more the article develops, the more work will be required to convert them at a later date. Cordless Larry (talk) 14:23, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Cesc

Chen, your overturning of my recent edits to the Fàbregas article has been reversed, as you failed to provide a viable explanation in the edit summary, or at least on my talk page. Simply labeling it a "wreck" and leaving it at that is condescending and sounds like a candidate of WP:OWN (you are particularly protective of Arsenal-related articles). The page was not shaved down for kicks; it was heavy with POV, irrelevant information (Arsenal's front-office rumblings have nothing to do with Fàbregas' exploits with the club), weasel wording, and speculation. Style-of-play segments more often than not read like sports-section material than anything encyclopedic, which is why it was removed entirely here with some of its content relocated into the main body of the article. Like it or not, our favorite articles get changed over time; it's a fact we have to live with as Wiki editors. sixtynine • speak, I say • 20:12, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

I accept the rebuke. After I reverted the article back to my version the second time, I looked up WP:GA, after which I wasn't going to challenge the article being changed back again. Perhaps due to my own ignorance, I was unaware of such discussion pages for Wiki articles. My point was that I wanted it to be about Cesc only while axing outside information (the security of Wenger's job, etc.) not directly related to the subject. However, while I erred in jumping in and hacking the article to smithereens, next time you need to let me know in the edit summary what I did wrong instead of dismissing it as a wreck or any other colorful metaphor, as it's of no help to me and I can't read your mind (hence, my initial reply to your first reversion). Thanks for the heads-up and take care. sixtynine • speak, I say • 07:29, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Tony Parker

Hi, thanks for your note on my talk page. Firstly, I'd like to point out that the article has not failed. I have reviewed it and placed it on hold pending improvement or discussion. This hold is scheduled to last seven days, but could last longer if required. it would only be failed if the issue I raised is not satisfactorily dealt with by then. Secondly, if I had failed it, you could take it to WP:GAR to appeal my desicion and gain wider consensus, so my word is far from final.

To address your specific points, this story (in Britain at least) was covered by a wide range of tabloids and gossip magazines. These publications are, you are correct, hardly the most reliable but they are widely read. People will come to wikipedia seeking information based on what they read in these publications precisely because Wikipedia can provide a neutral account of the event. Thus I am not for a second advocating that Wikipedia accuse Tony Parker of having an affair, but instead the biography include something like

In December 2007, stories emerged in tabloid newspapers that Tony Parker had been having an extra-martial affair with Alexandra Paressant, a French model. Both Parker and Longoria vehemently denied these allegations through their spokespeople, saying "All high profile couples fall victim to these sorts of things in the course of their relationships. It appears that this is not the first time this woman has used an athlete to gain public notoriety."[1] Parker began a $20 million dollar lawsuit against the website that first spread the news, which later issued a complete retraction and an apology, saying "X17online.com and X7 [sic], Inc. regret having been misled by Ms. Paressant and her representatives and apologize to Mr. Parker for any damage or inconvenience this may have caused him or his wife."[2]

This type of brief coverage clearly illustrates the facts of the case (including the all important fact that the allegations were invented) in a neutral way so that when people curious about the story come to Wikipedia they will be able to find out what actually happened. I strongly believe that coverage of this event is important in the context of the article - sports stars are as much celebrities as television actors and thus their personal lives are very much in the media spotlight. This means that these stories will attact people to Wikipedia eager to discover more about this incident and in presenting a sourced, neutral version of what actually happened, wikipedia can fulfill this audience in a simple and factual way. Hopefully this has answered your questions and please note that I haven't failed the article, I've just posted notice that I do not think it is comprehensive. Given that someone is interested in discussing this issue, I am unlikely to fail it at all (I never have yet). I will post your query to me and this reply on the review if you have no objections.--Jackyd101 (talk) 10:38, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

No worries, thankyou for coming straight to me and raising your concerns and I am happy I was able to allay them so simply. If you have any other questions then please contact me again.--Jackyd101 (talk) 12:16, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

You forgot the stats in the infobox, I did that, by the way, can you not change ntupdate all the time, it's better if you leave that to the date he last played an international game. It's better to know when it comes to updating it and repairing it if vandalism arises on that section of the article or said articles across the football player articles. Thanks. Could you be my copyeditor?

Greetings, Chensiyuan. I see that you have written many FAs and GAs about sportspeople, mainly footballers. Well done - your contributions are greatly appreciated!

I am writing several GAs about Singaporean sportspeople, mainly footballers. However, I need a copy-editor as my English is only at a near-native standard. According to a userbox on your userpage, you are "able to contribute with a professional level of English". So could you be my copyeditor?

While most article writers submit complete articles and then have them copyedited, I prefer "interactive copyediting", where after telling you the article to copyedit:

  • I would e-mail you drafts in advance.
  • We would book copyediting sessions at times convenient for both of us. The frequency of copyediting sessions would usually be once a week, but if we have more free time (for example, during the school holidays for me), we can hold copyediting sessions more often. Each session would usually last one to two hours.
  • Copyediting sessions would take place through IRC (freenode), MSN Messenger or Google Talk. During copyediting sessions, we would go through every sentence, correcting errors and refining the prose, before I submit it. You could ask me to clarify the context (since I would probably be more familiar with the subject of the article) and intended meaning of errorneous sentences, while I could ask you to expain the intricacies of English grammar - and we could chat as well.

If you are interested, please let me know so we can exchange IRC/MSN/GTalk handles and get started. I already have a complete draft of a short article about Singaporean Paralympic swimmer Yip Pin Xiu; a few copyediting sessions for that article would let us get to know each other and get used to each other's style.

unsourced articles on fictional characters

Hi, you reverted some of the edits I made to a number of articles on Wuxia novel characters. None of these articles are sourced (and I strongly doubt that sources exist). Not every fictional character needs an independent article. All of these characters are described in the articles on the novels themselves (which, by the way, are all also unsourced). If you could provide sources, that would be great. Till then, I'll continue to clean up this mess. --Crusio (talk) 08:42, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

I appreciate your point that several of these characters may be notable and that tagging might therefore be a better approach. I am perfectly willing to do so, but fear that this is an approach that will not give much reults. Many of these articles are already tagged and have been so for years, without any improvement forthcoming. I see your point that if one is not intimately familiar with Chinese culture, it will be difficult to distinguish between minor characters and important characters. The problem is that people have been creating articles for all characters, even those that are clearly minor. As none of these articles has even one source, it is impossible to see for outsiders which characters are cultural icons an which ones are not. So in fact all these articles defeat their purose, which should be to educate WP readers. Please provide sources, as you must be aware given the time you seem to have been around on WP, that is obligatory for all articles. Thanks. --Crusio (talk) 09:05, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
PS: Interwikia links cannot be used to show notability. --Crusio (talk) 09:06, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
PS2: A few more thoughts. 1/ You write that many sources exist, one only need to use Google. Why, then, has nobody ever added any of those sources? 2/ These novels and the characters therein are an important part of Chinese culture. So then surely at least some scholars of Chinese literature must have written treatises about the significance of these novels and characters. Those sources should establish notability and verifiability. 3/ Several of these novels are claimed to have been adapted into movies and for TV. Surely somebody must have published reviews of those derived works? That would help verify that those movies/TV adaptatioons actually exist and are notable. 4/ Most of these articles are really badly written. They are nothing else than a list of the deeds of these characters and for people that haven't read the original novels, this is not only useless but basically unreadable. As an example of how a fictional character can be treated in a serious way, see for example Tom Sawyer. I strongly feel that these articles should be reverted back to the redirects (and the same should be done for the other character articles), unless sources come up and the articles are improved seriously. Alternatively, we can take a bunch of these articles to AfD and see what the wider community has to say. --Crusio (talk) 10:44, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Help with List of minor characters from The Water Margin

Hi Chensiyuan, I know that you're an expert in the Water Margin and I thought that you might be able to help me with expanding the list which I've just created. I've redirected many of the pages of minor characters such as Lu Qian and Wu Dalang to the list. I know that there is some dispute over the minor novel characters about them being unsourced so I thought it'd be good if we could compile them all into a single list instead of having single pages for each of them. 團結就是力量 (unity is strength), now that they're all compiled into a single list, it might improve their notability and verfiability. Can you help me with this? Thanks. Lonelydarksky (talk) 15:47, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Edit war about spaces in Thierry Henry's article

Hi, that edit war about spaces ("Striker / Winger") has been amusing me for some time but don't you think it should be resolved at some time, on the Talk page for example? Regards, -Robby.is.on (talk) 22:51, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Ideally yes, but the user in question is anon who hides behind multiple IP adds, and it would seem draconian to semi-prot the page, so what do you think is the solution? Chensiyuan (talk) 01:13, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
This has had me chuckling too! How many reverts will take? You know they have a special little place for special little edits like this here. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 02:26, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Robin van Persie

Hey, just a quick message to say that I'm itching to improve an Arsenal player's article. I know you're still going with the Tel FAC (I'm letting you deal with the suggested improvements as they come, as I don't want to interfere), but what do you say we improve Robin van Persie to GA? At a (very quick) glance, it seems there's a lot which can be improved:

  • The lead section needs rewriting
  • The Personal Life section needs to be split up to form an Early Life and Outside Football section (the latter particularly notable due to his court case)
  • The Early Career section needs expanding and citing
  • The whole Arsenal Career section needs citing in much more detail

That list makes the article sound worse than it actually is; it's actually very detailed, has very good pictures, and seems reasonably well written. However, there's probably loads of information about him on the web (he's always giving interviews etc.), so there should be massive room for improvement.

Let me know! -GilbertoSilvaFan 16:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok mate, that sounds good, I'll probably start working on it Tuesday. (Though feel free to make a start on it before then obviously!) -GilbertoSilvaFan 16:21, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Mate - just going through everything which needs doing to the article, and since I've been on Wikibreak for a while, I have a question about what is the "done thing":
Do "International career" sections in player articles always have their own section? In the T. Henry article it has its own section, but in the G. Silva article it doesn't. I can't find a guideline on it or anything - what do you think I should do for the RVP article? Thanks for any advice or pointers. -GilbertoSilvaFan 17:39, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Haha, well done on the Tel article mate! It's been quite a while coming, hasn't it. I think in the end, most of the edits I made to the article actually caused more trouble than good (with regards to the FA nom)... but thank you for the half barnstar nonetheless. (I never knew a half barnstar existed, it's quite special.) Anyway, well done again. I'm having a rest from the RVP article by the way - just spent the week travelling around Brazil. Took a load of photos (most to do with articles related to Gilberto), so will spend the weekend posting them all etc. So, laters. -GilbertoSilvaFan (talk) 15:30, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Kaká

Hi mate. About the Kaká article - I was gonna stick to doing Arsenal articles for a while, but I think Kaká's definitely needs a bit of a revamp (especially when you compare it to the TH and Ronaldinho articles). So I definitely wouldn't mind helping out with fixing it up a bit. However, I'm gonna work on getting RVP to GA first (it's taking longer than I expected, I am very slow/lazy/crap), then after that, I'll join in the Kaká party.

Actually, another question while you're here - on my talk page I got a message saying that Image:Bishopmill_Villa_crest.jpg is illegal blah blah - but the fair use rationale is exactly the same as Image:Arsenal FC.png, and both are official football club crests? Am I missing something? If Bishopmill Villa's crest isn't fair-use, then surely Arsenal's isn't either? (And vice versa, if Arsenal's is fair-use, surely Bishopmill Villa's is.)

Cheers, seeya. -GilbertoSilvaFan (talk) 14:43, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

GMs and broadcasters

Hey, I was just wondering how you got the lists for the Toronto Raptors GMs and broadcasters (which don't have refs)? I'm looking for similar info for the Houston Rockets and can't find it anywhere. Noble Story (talkcontributions) 10:51, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey. Those were filled in by other editors. The Raptors franchise isn't that old and most of the information is chronicled online, so there you have it. Once I can track down who filled in the info I'll let you know. Chensiyuan (talk) 12:10, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
OK, I got it. Houston Rockets media guide; those media guides can be a wonderful resource. And I guess whichever editor got that link from the Raptors media guide. I guess it would be a good idea to put in some refs. Noble Story (talkcontributions) 02:00, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
You're right. Chensiyuan (talk) 02:02, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

BRUNINHO

Hi there CHENSIYUAN, VASCO from Portugal here,

Saw the message you dropped on User:CambridgeBayWeather about this "user", BRUNINHO. Well, now i write to you to tell it does not look good: He had a first account, BRUNO P.DORI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Bruno_P._Dori), which was blocked indef after several warnings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Bruno_P._Dori), because of the following: three-revert rule violated to the fullest (better say 600-revert rule); he operates solely on FC Barcelona players, past or present, does not engage in any conversation at all, and writes ZERO edit summaries...

It gets worse: i saw you also mentioned to CAMBRIDGE about BRUNINHO's IPs. Well, here's something scary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Bruno_P._Dori) - more than 50 and counting!

He has the tendency to only "contributing" in player's infoboxes (weird but true!), enlarging them needlessly. First it was the positions (sometimes he would write RIGHT BACK/LEFT BACK/CENTRE BACK when it all it took was DEFENDER, and if someone dared to correct, he would revert it on sight), now it seems he's starting to like to mess with birthplaces (see Sergio Busquets, he writes SABADELL, BARCELONA, i tell him SABADELL is enough, then we elaborate in introduction to story, he reverts it again, without a word).

About his anonymous IP, i have been told nothing can be done, only blocking them one by one, which would be also bad because that would force him to get a new one. So, i think he can do what he wants, and the rest of us have to put with his nonsense.

Have a nice week, keep up the good work,

VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 21:53, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Sorry to have bothered you, only wanted to help. Won't happen again.

--NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 13:59, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey Vasco, no need to apologise. Was just belated in my reply. This chap is quite extreme, no? Hope he/she goes away soon. Chensiyuan (talk) 15:23, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Thanks, man. Have a nice week. If you check his talkpage (BRUNINHO's), you can see i have dropped a friendly message in Portuguese (he operates from Brazil and, although i very much doubt it, could it be the case he does not understand English, thus not being able to respond to messages/warnings and stuff?), i am trying all i can to be friendly (apologizing in this message to any wrongdoings i have done towards him in the past - although i hope you can agree it's very tiresome to try and work with someone who does not care but for himself), although i know what the answer will be...None!

Have brought up the discussion at WPFOOTY (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football) but, as i hoped for, still have not received any feedback :(

You also may want to keep an eye on these "pearls": 1-Antonio Longás (has a name in CURRENT CLUB, then a different one in last club (2008-09, also current), and the player position is also enormous; 2-Oscar López Hernández (the "victim" in the RIGHT BACK/LEFT BACK/CENTRE BACK example i talked about earlier), sent him a message to see what his views were on the changes i provided, satisfying everyone, his "answer" was to come up with a new anon.IP and revert everything; 3-Roger García Junyent, this example being also interesting because he provides false info. This player, whom i remember quite well from the day he played in FC Barcelona, alongside brother Óscar, NEVER played as a central midfielder, only left, and would only play as a left back in emergencies, so i don't think it qualifies as a regular position; and 4-Gerard López. This guy, in his pinnacle, was very complete, he had the skills, the shooting and the stamina, we could call him an all-around midfielder (in infobox just Midfielder), but NEVER a Defensive midfielder...Well, not BRUNINHO, he says Defensive and no one can correct it or ask why did he do it. Very sad indeed!

Have a good one, VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 16:59, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey Vasco, thanks for taking the initiative to deal with this mystery person. I've had similar run-ins with his type before though. These people can last for YEARS. I think the longest was 1.5 years. At least we are committed to editing other articles as well... I will check out the "pearls". Chensiyuan (talk) 23:33, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
  • My man, indeed VERY VERY VERY good news, at least at a glance: BRUNINHO has responded to his first message ever, i was the lucky one :) :) :) In short, he told me he was not a vandal, he was a newbie, and was only trying to do the best (although i still don't know how to explain the endless IP usage)...His mothertongue INDEED is Portuguese. He was very polite and compelling, and even offered to undertake some infobox de-compression on his own - and i have attested he did so.

By the way, he also asked me this, regarding some of your "scuffles": Could you arrange a solution (i don't quite remember the article, maybe it's more than one) that enables the FC's to appear in infoboxes? All in all man, it does not take a vast amount of space, only two letters. What is your view here? Can we accommodate?

Kind regards, let's hope 4 the best, VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 00:11, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi Vasco, the problem with inserting FC is not that it takes up some space, but it is inconsistent with the rest of the article, which uses the shortform for clubnames (this is part of the MOS). Each article must be interally consistent, more so an FA (Thierry Henry) and a GA (Cesc Fabregas). Chensiyuan (talk) 02:46, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
  • I understood it has to do with guidelines, settled. BRUNINHO also told there is a dispute in Thierry Henry's article, and he asked if the player position could be STRIKER / WINGER (i have not visited Henry's page yet, but i do know, for sure, the French plays in those positions). I will tell BRUNINHO about MOS as soon as possible, don't worry, also helping if he has language problems while reading or anything.

Good week, thank you, VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 03:57, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

The Striker/winger conflict is over whether there should be a space (Striker/winger versus Striker / winger). The former is definitely correct as the only time when there should be a space between words separated by a "/" is when it's song lyrics. Thanks a bunch. Chensiyuan (talk) 04:12, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

WikiProject Christianity Newsletter - April 2009

Just a thought

On your page you mention some of WP's weakspots. I have to agree with most, especially the deletionist editors, the anti-christian, etc... However you say way too western but when I look at your profile, for a Singapoeran Chinese, it's 70% western talking about western culture, its clubs, teams, athletes. You've also contributed to posting pictures of Australia, UK, USA, three of the biggest western nations. All your work is great and I enjoy reading and looking at your pic, however I believe your "western" statement is a little contradictory with your work and beliefs as it's been mostly creating/discussing western culture icons. Nothing here is supposed to be aggressive, I am just asking wondering why makes you say that? Anyway, great work and good luck with everything Abdelkweli (talk) 15:43, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi there! Yes there appears to be some form of self-contradiction isn't it. Well, I would say that not everything Western is bad because it clearly isn't the case. I suppose the "Western" things I edit the most relate to the aspects of Western culture I enjoy the most: history, geography, and sports. Besides, those articles need more "Eastern" input for balance, no? :) Chensiyuan (talk) 16:22, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey! I just wanted to say thanks for all the help with the Barkley article. Also, I wanted to know if there was a difference or specific reason for citing the resources the way you have verses the way I have? I was using the same format as the one used at the Michael Jordan article. Thanks again for your help! Zodiiak (talk) 03:21, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey, no problem. One thing though -- I'm on vacation now and won't have decent internet access. I will try to feedback as and when I can. As for the formatting difference, no I just wanted internal consistency in the Barkley article. Chensiyuan (talk) 16:56, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Infobox for Water Margin characters

I've created a documentation subpage for the infobox template here. Can you help me with creating the infobox itself? I'm not quite sure on how to work it out. Other news
  • I am still working on the categorization matter. With any luck, we should have some results by the end of the month. There are also some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. One issue in particular that might be addressed is possible elections of new coordinators. Anyone interested in serving in such a capacity is more than welcome to indicate as much.

From the Members

Welcome to the Tenth issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.

It has been a long time since the last coordinators election. There is a lot for people to do, and I certainly would welcome seeing any individuals with an interest in such a position put themselves forward as candidates. I in particular would very much like to see some degree of "specialization" in the coordinators, so that, for instance, we might have someone knowledgable about some of the specific Christian faith traditions or other main subjects, like Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, art, theology, and so on. If any parties who have experience with some of our faith- or- subject-based content would be interested in being candidates, I would love to see them do so. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page.

WikiProject Water Margin

Please help me with improving the Water Margin-related articles. I've updated the WikiProject Water Margin page and you can add in anything relevant as well. My exams are coming soon and I need to focus more on studying so I'll be less active on Wikipedia for the coming 2-3 months or so. I'll probably be visiting Wikipedia once a week or less now. I trust that you can help me out on this. For a start, you might want to add the character infobox to all the characters' pages. Thanks. Lonelydarksky (talk) 12:26, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Char Kway Teow

Hi Chen,

I just want to inform you that the photos at the char kway teow do not accurately reflect their captions.

For example, the main photo: If you look closely, there are Chinese noodles in the dish (i.e. not exclusively flat rice noodles) -- which is not the authentic version of char kway teow because the original versions only use flat rice noodles (nevermind about the width of the rice noodles for now).

Also, the photo purportedly showing "Penang Char Kway Teow" does NOT look like an original Penang char kway teow regardless of its taste, although the photo may have been taken in Penang of a char kway teow served by a Penangite char kway teow preparer. One of the more typical looking athentic char kway teows which are served in Penang look more like the one in the second photo, i.e.the second photo from the top most (main) photo. And when char kway teow was not so commercialised, it looks like that second photo minus the eggs in it because eggs were not added by default in the original versions.

Yours, Charkwayteow Lover

Dennis Johnson

What do you think about his chances for FAC? Dabomb87 (talk) 21:55, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Not particularly great for now: prose needs substantial polish, and content could have more depth. Chensiyuan (talk) 22:10, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Chensiyuan. I was the one who originally asked this question because I thought this article is a relatively easy target for me to attempt FAC. Since I have never try FAC before as you know, any guidance from you would be greatly appreciated. To start off, are there any particular things you think need to be added? I did a quick research and thought that the article looks pretty comprehensive already.—Chris!c/t 00:08, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Hi, well I'm not that familiar with players from that era, it's just that if you compare the article's scope (say season-by-season coverage) to other NBA FAs like Magic, Jordan, Russell, this seems a little short. It could be his career wasn't as illustrious, but that's the obvious thing that stands out to me. Chensiyuan (talk) 00:50, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

File:Gray's inn zz.JPG

Hey Chensiyuan. I've sent Gray's Inn up to FAC, and one query was (indirectly) about the images. Can you tell me which square this was taken in? Ironholds (talk) 07:49, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi -- if I recall correctly, this shot was taken in the directly opposite direction as that of the South Square one. But I can't remember what square that depicts. Chensiyuan (talk) 13:10, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Damn. I'll try and search out one of the maps I've got lying around. No chance that sort of area is your home turf? I need somebody to borrow some books for me from the Holker Library err, discuss it with. Ironholds (talk) 13:14, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately, no. I'm not from England, and was only there because of an internship. Chensiyuan (talk) 13:19, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Darn, ah well. I'll try and work something out - thanks for your help anyway. Ironholds (talk) 13:23, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but the picture...

Ok Chensiyuan, I get why you deleted some links in the intro, but can you replace the picture of I had put of Turin. The one now is so non-picturesque and off-putting, whilst the one I had put is far more panoramic and gives a better view of the city.

The reasons were provided in the edit summary and above that, I disagree with your aesthetic assessment. All this, is without mentioning that you are replicating the same picture that is found in a latter section of the article. Chensiyuan (talk) 19:25, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

Hello, I have noticed you have contributed to alot of GA's and just wanted a couple of pointers on how to the Phil Taylor article up to GA. I have been trying extremely hard to get this article up to GA but has now failed two GAN's (see the most recent). This is even after I have got a PR and worked on the article for 4 month! See the article before I started working on it. I have requested a copy-edit on it as the main reason it failed is because of the prose. A couple of tips or a bit of help would be great. Thanks. Main page appearance

Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on May 10, 2011. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 10, 2011. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs) or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! I have forwarded your request to Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies/Unblock. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 13:21, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
I put this on hold while it's being checked and granted Chensiyuan ipexempt; I think he's pretty low risk.  :) Will drop a note at WP:OPP. Kuru (talk) 14:09, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Many thanks Old Mishehu and Kuru. Chensiyuan (talk) 14:56, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
I have disabled the unblock-auto template so that this page will not show up any more in Category:Unblock on hold. User's IP was unblocked by DeltaQuad on 2 July. The IP block exemption was removed since it is no longer needed. EdJohnston (talk) 18:10, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Message on Commons

Hi Chensiyuan, I thought you might have set preferences on Commons to receive an email whenever your talk page there has been changed, but probably I was wrong. So I'll try again here and hope that I don't come off as pushy... --Schwäbin (talk) 18:38, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Human rights in Singapore

Chensiyuan, thanks for your new report request [1] for the article: Human rights in Singapore. Here you can find the copy of the latest Amnesty International report: Amnesty Annual Reports 2011 Downloads and the Full Report 2011.

There are many international agreements Singapore has not signed: Civil and political rights, abolition of the death penalty, Economic, social and cultural rights and Elimination of Racial Discrimination. In my opinion the comparison to other countries gives additional value: For example Germany had signed all these agreements by 2009. Discussion on page: Talk:Human rights in Singapore. Hi...I been trying to correct Footballers height and positions to their real life heights. I don't know what you have against Cesc Fabregas official Website height (1.80m) and official height from Barcelona Fc (1.79m). Espn Soccernet is one of the worst sources for footballers heights.

Also I can help you improve Robin van Persie's wiki since I know dutch football and footballers a lot. He is 1.88m BTW, same as Bergkamp. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aloncho11 (talkcontribs) 04:05, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed in the contributors tally that you have worked on this article previously. Just to let you know I think the article is near WP:GAN bar expanding the Monaco section and replacing the dead links - do you fancy trying to clean the article content layout or prose/have any suggests for improvement? Cheers, – Lemonade51 (talk) 00:00, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi - thanks for adding a proper source for the assists column in the statistics section. Any chance you can do the same for Alex Chamberlain? Cheers. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 12:41, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi, actually the soccernet source has been consistently used in most Arsenal players' stats tables, but over time it disappeared. As for Chamberlain, I think the guys at Soccernet haven't fully updated his page yet. Chensiyuan (talk) 12:47, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
