This should be renamed "William Stevenson (British Writer)" as Stevenson was born in Northumberland, England; We don't seem have evidence he considered himself a Scottish writer; Scottish was not an nationality (nor was English or Welsh for that matter) at the time, and he lived in Scotland and England (he died in London) as well as contintental Europe and India.
