Talk:William Henry Dietz

Ancestry edit

Boy this article does a almost libelous number on his disputed ancestry using one historian and numerous unsourced and controversial statements. There are other histories of him that dispute much of what is written here such as Tom Benjey's Keep A-Goin': The Life of Lone Star Dietz. The Wiki entry is largely misleading and biased, downplaying his mostly forgotten achievements and making him looks like a lifelong con artist.

Draft? edit

There must be some mistake...WWI ended in 1918, yet the article says his issue with the draft board was in 1919. Jmlk17 07:48, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The US armed forces didn't become all-volunteer until after Vietnam, they were still drafting (just not in such large numbers) during peacetime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.122.179.99 (talk) 21:44, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Bias? edit

It's a little concerning that all of the personal information in this entry is cited to just a single author. It's further complicated by the fact that the most controversial section on his heritage is all from a single source. Indigent Soup (talk) 15:03, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
