Today's boat race. We seem to be fast approaching a clearing of the backlog thanks to everyone!

Lead edit

  • Worth adding it was Oxford's seventh win in a row, and it was the narrowest margin since the 1877 dead heat?
Done. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Crew edit

  • The caption for Harcourt Gilbey Gold could wikilink his name and mention he was the stroke, and that he is pictured in 1899
Done, but used "caricatured" rather than "pictured". The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Race edit

  • " the Oxford stroke H. Gold" - as we know his full name, and this is the first in-prose mention, why not use it?
Ok. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • "they were overlapping the Light Blue boat" - do you mean "overtaking"? Isn't "overlapping" something in Formula 1 (for example) where the leader gets so far ahead they catch up with the back markers?
No, overlapping means there was no clear water between the boats. Overtaking means one boat's nose goes ahead of the other boat's. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
