Fair use rationale for Image:Robin-roberts.jpg edit

Image:Robin-roberts.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sorry, it may well be an interview, but that does not mean links to the site can be spammed across Wikipedia. You have been warned, on several IP talk pages, and this URL has a history of spam (and spam warnings) that seems to have begun with User:SportsInt in early 2007. Please stop adding the links, as you will just end up being blocked. Thank you. --Ckatzchatspy 00:31, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ditched the wig? edit

Under the section about her health it says- Roberts ditched the wig. I changed it to read Roberts stopped wearing the wig. I'm sorry but ditched sounds like slang.--70.157.42.133 (talk) 02:43, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Religous views? edit

I remember her talking about her faith a few times... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.165.163.105 (talk) 03:27, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Will there ever be a time when this approach of saying a person is the "first" this or that or the other thing disappears from descriptions? I say this as the first tall openly hetero male with green eyes to post here, so please honor my breakthrough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.49.27.38 (talk) 16:46, 12 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

– Robin Roberts the newscaster is WP:PRIMARY, therefore, should be at the dab name. The newscaster receives 1,179 views per day, the baseball player receives 113 views per day, and the signer receives 8 views per day. See the statistics here [[1]]. She is also WP:PRIMARY in Google search. Ḉɱ̍ 2nd anniv. 21:44, 23 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Neutral Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, I see the newscaster having the same long-term significance as the baseball player, who is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. A Google Books search on "'robin roberts' baseball" (10,500) is on par with "'robin roberts' -baseball" (11,100). However, it's clear the newscaster is the overwhelming primary topic as far as current usage.—Bagumba (talk) 08:30, 24 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - Both the newscaster and the baseball player are very high-profile. I think current page views and Google hits can be deceptive when comparing an "active" celebrity who is currently in the news with someone whose coverage prime was 50-60 years ago. Robin Roberts the pitcher was a very high-profile athlete in America in the pre-Internet/limited TV 50s and 60s (and has lasting importance as a member of the baseball Hall of Fame). It feels appropriate that both articles have a DAB and that Robin Roberts is a DAB page. Rikster2 (talk) 13:56, 25 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose the Baseball Hall of Famer is probably more prominent in the long-run (although it looks like the newscaster is also in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame), so if a primary is chosen for this name the ballplayer would be it in terms of interest-longevity.
